Location was very central. Breakfast was superb. Staff friendly & helpful even with a language barrier. Due to location and birds it was noisy late at night and early in morning.
breakfast was a sheer delight
Ambience, amazing breakfasts, lovely staff
The staff were very friendly and helpful, but the hotel was not very well set up for long stays . The layout of the "suite" we were in was a little strange. One lovely big room, and another room that was really a corridor with a bed in it. The main bedroom had no cupboard or shelves for clothes, nor a desk. No bedside lamps for reading. But a great big bathroom and bath, which we appreciated! Breakfasts are not served until 9am, which is too late for families with young kids.
loved the breakfast and decor! and all round fab atmosphere
Athmosphere, wellcoming and care for guests: makes you feel very important. Design and unique approach to B&B
The breakfast is awesome. No shampoo, the breakfast started to late while we agreed on having breakfast at 8:30
I liked the comfort and the individual design of the ropom very well. I was also fascinated of the breakfast!
The hotel is very relaxing and artfully decorated. It has several different room themes but each one is done in with good taste. The room that we have stayed in on two occasions has a kitchenette, a small bathroom, WC and comfortable lounge area. The really yummy continental breakfast is served either in the courtyard garden or inside the cafe and the fruit and pastries are more that you could desire. The people who manage the cafe/hotel also have an art gallery adjacent which we liked too. No lift but helpful people to assist you. Would stay there again as enjoyed the experience greatly. The pedestrian street location may make it difficult for car arrival, but there is a car park nearby.
We felt pampered. The small details (fresh hydrangeas on our plate at breakfast, cookies, little card as a welcome) made our stay a real exprerience.
A hotel well positioned in Locarno centre in the process of rennovation. Interesting lift to rooms. Good value for money. Toilet on landing but en suite shower. No refund or packed lunch offered for not being able to take breakfast. No certain about safety in event of fire onlt the lift was pointed out as a means off accessing my room.
It is simple and fine. It seems an old building refurbished to be a Bed&Breakfast. Breakfast has good bread with 3 jams, nutella, butter. Plus various types of teas, coffees and orange juice. The stuff is German-speaker, they barely speak any Italian (this is on the Italian part of Switzerland). Be careful that toilets may not be in the rooms unless explicitly stated.
The mattresses in all the rooms were very comfortable to sleep on. The elevator was very clever. I organized this "hotel" for a family function, we were 7 adults and no one was happy with their stay. The rooms were cold at night, there is only one toilet per floor, and the breakfast buffet was cheap- just bread and jam- no meats or cheeses. It was the same quality as a cheap youth hostel but with the price of a hotel.
The location is very good - just off the main square and a short walk from the train station, lake and funicular (5-10 mins). The room I had (double) was fairly spacious and the en-suite shower was good. It also had a wash basin. Although there was a little bit of noise in the alley-way outside, closing the window stopped that completely and didn't make the room too hot to sleep (at end of August). Breakfast was basic, as you'd expect - bread, cereal, coffee and juice - but was better than expected. Staff were friendly. Cigarette smoke and noise coming into the room from the alley-way below the window late at night. Closing the windows fixed this, though. The price I paid for a double room for single occupancy was a bit high - it is really a backpacker hotel - but that said, it was comfortable enough. Although the room had a double bed, it was really 2 single beds pushed together, which kind of defeats the purpose as you have to sleep on one or the other! The toilet in the corridor outside is a slight inconvenience, though that was stated before booking. I didn't like that there was no soap in the toilet room to wash your hands.
old room but very clean, shower in room but no toilet (odd) free wifi, breakfast included, walk to main plaza and station, lift, good breakfast no toilet in room , but not far away on same floor
The hotel was very clean. The stuff were kind and friendly. The sorrounding was very beautiful. I will definitely stay here again!
Beautiful landscapes and grapeyards. Famous feeling of Tichino's provance, friendly people. Be careful with arrival and departure - traffic jams on exit from Lugano.
It is a great B&B surrounded by vineyards which we can really recommend! We stayed in the apartment. It had a beautiful view and we had our own terrace. The room was excellent. Good beds, very clean, well sorted wine selection and a good shower (including massage). The breakfast in the dining room was also good. Service excellent! We went with two small children, 4 and 1 and they enjoyed as well. Unfortunately we only stayed one night.. Also try the restaurant Grotta Rossi nearby but go by car. Nothing we did not like!
Had a great stay, beautiful location for walking and exploring the local area. Rooms very clean and well decorated. Loved the terrace from our room for a nice glass of the local wine and sitting in the sun!
Attention to detail in the rooms. Great Breakfast, lovely location
Nice room, quiet, tastefull furnishing, beautiful view, great terrace. Kitchen and Terrace perfectly equipped..... No
Wonderful! We stayed 3 nights with other family members so had 3 rooms in total - No.3 Classic Room, No.5 Junior Suite and No.8 Mini-apartment which has 2 bedrooms. All rooms were spotlessly clean with fresh towels available. Kitchenettes in all rooms. No.3 had an outdoor terrace with table/chairs and sunchair however not very safe for small children. No.5 had a balcony. All rooms overlooked the valley onto Croglio and Avigno in Italy. It was a short drive to Lugano and other places of interest in Ticino. Breakfast was plentiful and very fresh, cold meats cut on request. We also bought some delicious wines here. Lovely walks through the vineyards with artworks on display at each corner. Mountain bikes also available. Just lovely! Not a negative but just to be advised you do need a car to get to this b&b, it is a little bit off the beaten track, although there is good signage and not difficult to find.
