My husband loved the size of the shower and the cooked breakfast in the morning,. Our bed seemed to have a dip in it, it felt uneven.
A bit basic in terms of facilities inside the room, such as toiletries
The room was comfortable and quiet.
The staff were friendly, the room was clean and spacious. I would definitely stay there again Nothing
Hotel was great and we were very impressed with the city of Bradford
Room layout and bathroom
The hotel staff and services were excellent.
Convenient for the City Centre.
easy to get to .... good location.... made use of the cinema ......
Good service. Lift out of order on day of check out.
good location to venue i was attending room was clean and warm staff helpful food good good hotel
The bedroom allocated to us was lovely. So different from your usual square, uniform hotels rooms. The wide corridors and peaceful atmosphere were very relaxing. Breakfast was excellent and the staff superb. A really nice experience!
modernised hotel, friendly staff
Friendly helpful staff, good facilities, comfortable nicely furnished room. Food in hotel bar was good and reasonably priced, liked art exhibition in progress.
The decore is too modern for a victorian building.
The decor and ambient of the hotel once you are inside belie the location. The staff were polite and helpful, which makes one feel at home instantly. Overall, a great value for money experience. The bathroom could do with some help. Windows gerally looked incongruent with the state of the room - looked a little outdated and dirty. Attempt at concealing it with blinds didn't seem to work!
loved the decor very hot in the hotel room
the rooms were very clean
This is a striking building very sensitively updated. The hotel is stylish without being pretentious. The food is excellent and the staff efficient and pleasant.
New, clean and comfortable rooms. Bar on the ground floor also very nice. Stayed on the 7th floor and had a great view of the city. No free onsite parking
The hotel's location is excellent. There is NCP parking just behind the hotel with a good price for 24 hours car park. Nothing. Everything was above the expectation taking into account the fair price.
Room comfort The staff in the dining room in the morning ( had breakfast only) would need to be more proffessional, i.e. in serving and dress. Staff were friendly.
Good spacious room, good location, friendly staff, excellent value for money nothing really
Comfort of room Cooked breakfast had obviously been on hotplate a long time and was not at its best
Nice clean and well postioned Hotel Myself and my wife were kept awake until 6 o'clock in the morning due to the night club opposite, it was'nt the music but the noise of the people outside the club. On check out the reception staff did not seemed to bothered with our complaint. This reaction leads me to beleive that this a regular complaint at this hotel.
Staff were attentive and friendly. No lock on the room door, housekeeping just walk in.
The reception and bar area are lovely but the rooms are a little dated and basic.
Efficiency of restraunt / bar staff minor details such as no soap in shower, TV remote batteries not working
easy access from motorway and excellent site for city visit.security for visitors is excellent. noise from adjoining disco club - fire alarm activated during night but no voice directions as to whether real or false alarm. either during ar after. early morning call not r[pt not received.
Convenient for traveller, comfortable, friendly The Service in the restaurant was a bit chaotic , drinks arrived after the starter was finished...
Surroundings pleasant enough and convenient location. Resturant was way too expensive! £17.00 for most main dishes and not much on the plate. I skipped the £13.00 breakfast on principle. Also, when are hotels going to realise that £6.50 for an hour's internet use is not going to work?? Internet use should be included FOC.
good facilities good price
You could use the Sauna, Jacuzzi and also the steam room included with the hotel stay. I didn't like the fact that a member of staff knocked on the door early in the morning (even though I didn't ask for a wakeup call) and then all of a sudden walked in by using her master key, untill she saw me and said sorry and walked out.
the staff were friendly and helpful
The lovely large airy rooms and all the majestic qualities of staying in a grand Victorian hotel.
This is one of the finest hotes I've stayed in. It is very grand with a wonderful feeling of luxury and tradition. The interior, including the sweeping staircase looks stunning, like something from a bygone era. The staff were very friendly and helpful, as well as being extremely professional in their service standards. The room I stayed in was very good and was immaculately clean, as well as being very comfortable. I had a meal in the restaurant in the evening and I have to say, both the service and the quality of the food was top class. It has a central Bradford location which was ideal I was visiting the nearby Alhambra Theatre. Although I was only there for an overnight stay, I would definately recommend the Midland Hotel.
My requested 5.00am wake-up call did not happen - very annoying I had to check out at 5.45am - no-one on duty was able to check me out.
Food for lunch and dinner excellent lounge relaxing area to enjoy a drink Compared to the communial areas the room was very shabby Some restuarant service not up to standard
Room nice and clean. I had a room cloese to the main road and it was very noise.
Well organised, friendly staff. One of the bars run as a pub selling real ale. Excellent breakfast. A much nicer hotel than 5 years ago.
Everything was really good. The hotel upkeep of the hotel has been excellent and I have no complaints. The breakfast was very good.
The greetings from the reception staff on our arrival, the bar man in the lounge was great to talk to and made the best salmon and cream cheese sandwich. They were polite and were just willing to help you whenever they can. Totally recommended!! The staff made the place in my opinion and the rooms were clean and comfortable - I do think that some 'touch up' on decor due to wear and tear is needed but that is not what we were there for.
the breakfast could have been better and the service
We had two rooms booked.1 room was ok,but the other was very small, with a fridge that wasnt working, and had water in the bottom.we needed a fridge for my sons girlfriends medication,as she has to take it at diffrent time in the night.we had to put the medication in our fridge, which ended up with us not sleeping very well.As we were with a wedding party,we checked in but didnt find the problems with the room till very late.the next morning i had a word with the man at reception,i asked him to tell the manager, and that i would be back after breakfast to see what he said.I dont for 1 second think he even told the manager, and when i went to check out he just said we should of said last night.he never said sorry either. man on reception, small room.rubbish breakfast.
The Care and cheerfulness of the staff was a breath of fresh air. Thank you The bar closed a little early but thats fine as their were limited staff
booking out room, service in dining room, and hotel being on an industrial est
Comfortable and good value
The hotel is clearly under a refurb programme, and, In all honesty, anything will be a massive improvement on its current state. It was shabby, very dated, had faulty lighting, was not very nice at all...........
Plenty of parking, good location for me, newly refurbished, good starting point.
Polite efficient staff. Good price for Triple room The fire alarm went off by mistake at 02:30 AM , sounded for 2 seconds and then was switched off.
Staff were very friendly and helpful although I did not eat an evening meal, breakfeast was excellent. Good value for money all round.
Very noisy toilets when flushed
its was a very nice hotel,a nice surprise as so cheap as well.the breakfast excellent. nothing ,it was a brill place.thankyou.
Excellent food and warm and friendly staff Wifi should be free
location and price A bit tatty but in the middle of improvements, so should get better.
The central location of the hotel suited my needs. I thought the hotel staff were attentive, helpful and professional. I also appreciated the late check out time. The temperature of the water for my bath seemed to be stuck at 40 degrees which was ok but I was hoping for a long, hot and relaxing soak! The price of the wine and the coffee also seemed a little over the top (£9.70 for a large glass of Shiraz and £3.20 for a medium Amerciano). Otherwise, I was more than happy with my stay and wouldn't hesitate to book myself in at the Hilton again should I be visiting Bradford.
Good central location The hotel was as expected however I had booked two rooms and they only had one on record so this was frustrating, but reception quickly resolved the issue.
No record of my reservation on arrival! Fortunately, they had rooms available.
Cit centre location room should not have been classified as super deluxe it was small
The breakfast, the location and the expansive cityscape view from the window of my room and the breakfast room. The cleanliness and general dilapidated decoration of the room (e.g. dirty grouting in bathroom). Bar closed at 1030 and an outrageously expensive internet connection.
Overall comfort and parking Unacceptably high breakfast charges
Good location in city centre. Staff were pleasant but some were a little inexperienced. Received wrong meal in restaurant. Location of the room was very poor. There was a water tank close by and you could hear it filling during the night. Also, there was building work nearby and jack hammers started at 7.30am on a Saturday morning. Not a good night's sleep!
The location is convenient and the breakfast was decent. Does not match up in any way to the normal Hilton standards. They did not even have a toothpaste to give me when I had forgotten my own and made no effort to help me out.
Food was very good and staff friendly Nothing
staff it seemed run down and in need of a refurbishment
A clean and pleasant hotel let down by poor services The hotel lost my booking, there was no Wi-Fi available in my room & the staff forgot to bring my coffee at breakfast. The papers din't arrive until I was checking out which is far too late. The hotel also tried to charge me for the phone call to the ISP to resolve the Wi-Fi issue.I've used this hotel a couple of times before but they do not seem interested in retaining my business. The hotel should have offered to reduce the bill because of the disappointing service but this didn't happen. I will be staying elsewhere next time.
Very relaxing in all areas of the hotel
We found Hollins Hall in a delightful setting, very friendly and helpful and courteous staff and a lovely swimming pool. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean and we enjoyed our too short stay very much.
Really good country location yet within easy driving distance to Leeds, Bradford or the airport; good public transport links; near to Dales. Staff very attentive and professional. Nothing
The pool was very good apart from the lack of cleanliness around the changing and shower area. Although the pool was good the lack of cleanliness around the changing and shower area was not very good. Food not as stated on the menu in the Zest bar. Breakfast was good but kept running out of food and orange juice so had to ask staff to sort.
everything beautiful location, friendly staff, lovely accomodation
Thet was clean and very quiet at night, and in a very safe location. The breakfast was very good but being a buffet was cold
The hotel was attractive with a nice setting and our room was very comfortable. The food was also of a very high standard and the service provided by the staff could not be faulted.
A smart, clean and tidy hotel. The receptionists were patient and polite and nothing is too much trouble for them. I didn't receive a confirmation email from this website
super quiet room, fine bed, nice surroundings
Convenient for M62, quiet area of Bradford Would not have found without a Sat Nav!
Upgraded our room, it was lovely, enjoyed our stay. Nothing to dislike.
Very helpful and polite staff and pleasant room. Will stay again.
Easy to find. Close to city centre The shower in the room was just a trickle of water. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work. No air conditioning in the rooms which made them very hot. I was pretty shocked to see your receptionist standing by reception having a cigarette. It did not project a professional inpression!
couldnt get a sandwich late on
The price was good value for money, best price in that particular location within 15 mile radius. Early bird menu great value Floorboards in the room were very creaky. I would have preferred a mat on the bathroom floor, used a hand towel instead to stop slipping when coming out of shower. Bar snack menu was slightly pricy for the range of food. (scampi or burger and chips £10.00)
The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is of a very high standard
The ease of checking in and out. Then helpful staff taking the time print directions and help with places to visit.
Nice hotel easy access of the M62 and good parking and quite nice stay Wifi was a bit hit and miss
decor in room and in some public places a bit shabby
This hotel was very clean and comfortable with professional quality bedding and hotel quality crockery, comfortable beds and quality carpets. It was particularly interesting because of the unique experience of gas lighting and Edwardian features in the bar areas. This hotel served anexcellent breakfast. Seldom any staff around, although when they were, the owner and staff were pleasant and helpful. There were several strange types of people around and we suspect the owner may be letting rooms to DSS.
Fantastic traditional features, the likes of which you don't see these days. The cleanliness and efficiency of the hotel was on a par with any pther hotel chain.
I found the staff to be curteous, warm, friendly and obliging. My room was quiet and tidy. There was a taxi pick up piont close by which was convenient
Helpful and courteous staff. Cheap. There was no lock on the door of the first room I was allotted. Neither was there a doorhandle on the inside of the room. I was immediately transferred to another room which was a bit noisy and very cold. The breakfast was good but the Dining Room was very cold.
Friendly staff. Room recently refurbished. Warm and comfortable. Proprietor tried his best with tv reception, some visitors may find this unsatisfactory. First impression was dark and smelled of cigarettes
The room was clean, and comfortable. The room was quite and good parking arrangements and there was good parking arrangements. Staff were freindly None
Character. Was definately Edwardian Unfortunately, the weather was the worst of the year, so we were a little cold, because of the height of the ceilings. Would be great in Summer
Toilet slow to fill
Really friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room and good value for money
The hotel has a pub next door with very reasonably priced food. All week they do 2 meals for £10. Rooms are clean but bleak. Wi-Fi expensive. Not many TV channels as they try to make you buy more.
I can't fault anything about this hotel. The service was excellent. The room and bathroom was immaculately clean, and the bed so comfy that I wished I could take it home with me! If I book a hotel in Bradford/Shipley in the future, it will definitely be this one!!
Very Good Location for visiting Saltaire.
Very nice stay staff friendly/helpful/tidy No free Internet
Very clean.Staff friendly Continental breakfast a bit disappointing
Helpful, friendly staff. Breakfast not included in price - otherwise no dislikes.
Friendly staff, good television set ice and drinking water available. Drains smell coming up from bathroom sink
High standards of care and cleanliness and convenient location
The hotel was close to the venue of the event which I was attending. Attitude of staff, No water pressure in wash basin, barely enough to wet my toothbrush. I had to sit on the bed to read my book as there was no armchair, only an uncomfortable hard chair at the desk.
The fantastic bathroom...sheer luxury!
The staff were especially friendly and helpful. Decor and furnishing in keeping with it's 19c origins. Excellent value for money and very easy to get to.
The food for dinner was excellent, I could not fault it at all. Better than many well-known restaurants. The room was very cold when we checked in and there were no towels or soap. It seemed as though it had not been used for some time.
The night staff were very hospitable and willing to stay up late to let me back in after a night out
The staff were very friendly
Staff were accomodating when we needed an early check-in Bedroom was quite tatty - hole in the bedspread, no remote for TV, smelled of smoke but no ashtray to be seen
Spacious rooms, good breakfast and very friendly staff, informative of the surrounding area. Excellent stay all round.
Comfortable bed, nicley laid out room and welcoming staff. A dead silence in the dinning room!!
the family atmosphere, welcoming staff close to transport if needed.close enough to the town and still being near a park.
Nicely appointed room, free wi-fi (though not very fast), very friendly staff - my luggage was carried up and I was shown round the room but the tip I offered was politely declined. One bedside light not working. Ditto the light over the washbasin. No soap bar. No soap holder in bath/shower (looks like the fitting was broken). No anti-slip bath mat for showering.
The comfort of the room. Noise from the wedding disco.
standard of room for the price Having to pay for parking
Remote location is peaceful. Boddington's is not everyone's favourite beer: how about Tetley, Theakston or John Smiths?
A warm welcome and easy directions. Good information given. No bad points
Very pleasant location on the edge of countryside. Large wedding party on Sat. night meant we couldn't sleep until 1p.m. due to noise from disco right underneath our room.
there were flies on the food at breakfast. they did have one of those blue machines but they should have all food covered as the hotel is next to a field so obviously they will get flies. it stopped us eating half the food eg the fruit , cold meats and bread.
The village location Beddings were not changed for the second night and some guests were noisy at night around 2am...I was woken up and had to ring the reception to log a complaint.
We had a very enjoyable weekend, the hotel was comfortable in nice surroundings, the staff were friendly and helpful and as breakfast was served between 7 and 11 it meant that you could get up at your leisure. Unfortunately, the fan in our bathroom was very noisy and stayed on for about 1 hour after we vacated the bathroom which was rather irritating, also we were kept awake by party goers returning to their rooms in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Room comfortable and solid walls meant it was quite quiet. The dinner I had in the resturant was only OK. Was brought some standard sliced white bread, when I was expecting something more up market. Oh and internet access for £6/ hr these days is crazy.
Toilet/bath area was in need of some work
