Brand new, well situated near to the Cathedral and small eating houses. Parking can be difficult if you have a high vehicle.
Great breakfast, central location and the restaurant food and staff were great.
Good quality hotel in the centre of Amnien The hotel said they didn't receive the booking.com reservation, so I was lucky I still got a room. very strange
Excellent location with parking facilities. Very friendly staff.
Best location to a cathedral. It takes just one minute from the hotel.Clean and large room. Staffs are very kindly.
We were happy overall but particularly satisfied with the assistance of reception staff. My friend's mother had been hospitalised in Amiens and we needed help with transport arrangements, receiving and sending faxes from the uk and making online bookings. Assistance was always willingly available.
Helpful staff, nice breakfast, great views, clean facility, perfect location,
We particularly appreciated the location of this hotel - in the centre of Amiens and close to the sites we wanted to see. We also really loved our room - very comfortable and clean - with a beautiful view of amiens Cathedral itself. We found that the hotel did not offer dinner at the hotel on the Sunday evening - our last night in Amiens. With few other restaurants open that night, we had very few options for a nice meal on Sunday night.
The hotel was right next to the cathedral and a short stroll from a waterside dining precinct. A lovely stopover. The wireless internet was unobtainable and all the staff could suggest was that we go to an internet cafe - rather poor seeing that wifi access was a determinate factor when selecting this hotel.
The room was excellent! Breakfast perfect!
Good breakfast, staff very helpful Room and bathroom a bit tired
Location is very central Room was barely big enough to fit the second bed.
Booked for restaurant which was closed whole stay!!
well situated location for main line train station providing an ideal base to explore, comfortable
Very friendly, helpful staff. Location good. Good value for money
A good hotel, a good selection of food for breakfast.
It wsa close to the City Centre and convenient for all facilities. The bedroom (for two people) was on the small side.
The hotel was clean and efficient. Breakfast was good. The beds were comfortable. The way in to the hotel was a bit difficult to find as there were road works in front of it. Although the car park was fairly near that was also a bit difficult to get to at a time when the traffic was very dense.
Elevator very small,
Cleanliness and comfort.
The hotel was clean and the staff were lovely and friendly. Location was easy to find (albeit quite a way out of town) but plenty of parking available and a restaurant and bar downstairs.
The staff were all extremely friendly - an essential ingredient to a successful hotel - bar/restaurant clean and more than adequate (plus free wi-fi another 'essential'.
Nice staff, decent breakfast
Perfect location for our needs and very well laid out. I would have liked more armchairs to sit relax after meal - a lounge area.
Staff were attentive and spoke English which is good for those of us with a spattering of Franglaise. As it was a relatively new hotel it was modern and clean with all new fittings. Rooms good and bathroom modules a good idea. Enjoyed the food (dinner and Breakfast). Location good for battlefield touring (reason for visit). Good access. From the outside it looks fairly basic but inside all was to our liking. Would recommend this as a place to stay for anyone wanting a similar base for battlefield touring. No dislikes
Location Food in the cafe was cold and staff were under pressure. All of which was well below that expected at an hotel of that star rating
Hotel was excellent value and ideal location to explore WW1 Thiepval sites. Also close to Albert town with its museums.
shower was awesome! more english channels on tv would help - but this is very minorgood but a hair dryer would be useful - apart from that perfect
convenience, pleasant staff, internet for guests in reception and free wifi in rooms, pool. buffet breakfast too expensive.
Good travel stop hotel.Comfortable clean good food available.Helpful staff.A good experience.
The room was very pleasent and plently of room for all of us,breakfast was lovely and very good value. A very pleasant stay.
In the centre of the old town which is convenient It is a drop in drop out hotel, not exactly the best comfort offering
Address given via Internet was wrong and not known by Tom Tom.The address on the bill is correct and should be given on the Internet . Not Fitness room !
We were only at the hotel overnight, on our way home from holiday, but would love to return to Amiens, and would like to stay at the Novotel. Three members of my family stayed in the one room, but there were only towells, drinks etc for two people.
Secure parking directions to hotel confusing on web site (two different locations!)
The breakfast and restaurant meal were excellent
The hotel provides a good base for exploring further regions of France and is ideal for overnight or short stays. The staff were very helpful and we would certainly consider staying there again
We had a family room, one double bed and a sofa for the girls. Quite ok, not much room left in the room after our bags... The room and bathroom (+ separate toilet) quite basic, ok, clean and comfortable. Pillows very comfortable. Nice art on the walls. Minibar small but ok, quite pricey... Staff very nice and helpful, all did not speak english very well/at all. The breakfast was the best of all the hotels we stayed in on our trip to France. Outdoor play area was nice, our girls especially loved the cat family that seemed to live in the bushes... Pool nice for adults, too deep for kids. Free parking just in front of the entrance. Finding this hotel late in the night, when we arrived, was an adventure... Somehow the booking.com-pages, hotel's own home pages and google maps indicated all different places or street names. I understood from other's comments that we weren't the only ones with this problem. Please look into this, it'll save your customers time &nerves. The location was good arriving from the highway, but for exploring the city it may not be the best possible. It took some 15 minutes to get to the city center by your own car. The road is very simple and straight, though. The pool is too deep for little kids, which was a shame, for the weather was really hot. Plus we missed some towels & pillows the first night... which was corrected promptly.
Easy access to the centre of town The room was quite small for the money paid!! The bath was quite small for someone like myself who id 6Ft tall. There is a magnifying mirror on the glass mirror in the bathroom which has been placed on the wrong side , making it difficult to use.
The breakfast with the local food products was quite good! I also liked the charm of the old "bourgeoise" home. It was a little noisy, we could hear the neihgbours in the room up to ours.
Central position Very noisy at night No car park arrangement - car broken into
The price is too expensive for the room including facilities and equipments.
It was nice and quite, and the shower was very good with ample hot water, and the beds wer comfortable so we had a good nights sleep.
Nice hotel, clean friendly and very welcoming. Excellent location in the centre of town. A short walk to nearby parking.
Excellent location, Free wi-fi. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast extra. As a result we did not think the hotel was value for money.
Location No air conditioning, rooms may wish some renovation, wi-fi access price above average
The hotel rooms are small and the decor of the rooms is best described as varied. No off street parking. Hotel feels dated and gloomy
It was convenient to the road / motorway and there was ample parking. The manager was pleasant and spoke good English.
The location of the hotel. Nothing
breakfast smoking in the restaurant
The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff very pleasant. We found this hotel ideal as a stop over on our way to calais after a trip to italy.
Hotel has improved since our last visit No bad points
Nothing. We had booked at Glisy to attend the Australian War Memorial service on Anzac Day. We were in a party of 6 people in 3 double rooms and stayed 2 nights. The room security - window fixtures were inadequate and poor. We were robbed of our new camera by a thief gaining easy access through a window - by breaking the security fixture. The staff showed little desire to be helpful and were totally apathetic. They gave the impression that rather wished the problem to go away or it had happened so often before it was just a bit of a nuisance. They showed no concern for us suffering from a theft whilst staying at their hotel. They didn't even come to the room to see the damage done to the window security fixture.
Easy to find location just off the ring-road, comfortable, sound-proof room (no road noise), and a reasonable breakfast in the morning. A Campanile is pretty much a Campanile, but for a one-night stay was fine for what we wanted. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering us a ground-floor room which suited perfectly as we were travelling with our dog.
Friendly staff, comfortable room, good buffet breakfast Insufficient pillows, air conditioning not heating, insufficient tea bags (one only), inability to have steak cooked as requested in restaurant, limited wine selection.
We had our dog with us and they where very accomadating. Staff very good.
Comfortable bed, reasonable food, free wireless broadband Very small and dark room, external door with path to restaurant outside window meant that curtain had to be drawn all the time.
Easy location ,convenient for restaurants .Handy for parking and the cathedral.
Very central and comfortable for our young family (two small children) A bit noisy. Breakfast far too expensive for what was offered.
This hotel is decked out in a very modern style which works well and is very comfortable. The location is very close to the centre of Amiens and easy to drive to.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and modern. The staff were excellent, very helpful and the location of the hotel was ideal (quiet, but still close to shops, restaurants). A very enjoyable stay indeed!
Parking outside the door with no charges during August I had difficulty finding the location using GPS and map
Excellent location near sites of historical interest. Very expensive bar.
Comfortable and clean, good friendly staff. Nice breakfast and very good location. Also easy to find.
Location and the staff breakfast was a little expensive
convenient location, olde worlde building from outside, modified inside for modern comfort, as best as can be achieved within the constraints of historic buildings. Staff were wonderful. Convenient public car parking right outside the hotel, and it is free most of the time
Good, well maintained, friendly, older property. Located within walking distance of city centre and on main access through Albert. Noise no problem. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent in house restaurant.
We had a warm welcome. The hotel is perfectly placed for visits to the area of the First World War battlefields and the beautiful countryside of the Somme. Good size bedroom, and good dinner in nice traditional restaurant.
friendly + helpful staff. Breakfast basic but good. rooms are a bit tatty and in need of renovation.
Friendliness of owner and staff. Cleanliness of the rooms and situation of hotel excellent. Decoration of bedrooms interesting, wardrobe very floppy didn't risk putting anything in it. Could do with checkin being earlier we were lucky to get see the owner and get in before 6pm which appeared to be when the hotel opened its doors. It was a very cold and wet day which if we had had to wait 2 hours in a car, nothing open in February, it would not have been very comfortable. However we didn't because we saw the owner through the locked door of the hotel and he happily opened up for us.
The location was central and the hotel had it's own unique individuality, a typical French provincial hotel. Would have liked tea/coffee making facility. Our room although clean looked a bit tired in decoration.
We have been staying Albert for the past 10 years, and this was our first time staying at the Hotel De La Paix. It has a nice intimate feel that you do not get from the bigger chain hotels. However it is a ilttle dated but this does not overcome the fact it was a very pleasent place to stay. The Chap in charge is also the chef, en eventhough we spoke different langauges, we were able to still chat and he was very friendly as were the rest of the staff. Food was good, location was good, beds were comfortable. will stay there again. A great base for visiting the Great War Battlefields on the Somme. The only thing I was not happy about was the actual toilet which appeared to be an electronic thingy that made a lot of noise when you flushed it. Also when you had a shower water tended to collect under the sink that youneeded to put a towel under in order to soak it up. These are minor things that do not take away from the fact that we enjoyed our stay and will stay there again.
