8.8 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were immaculately clean, comfortable and very large. Owner was really friendly and helpful. Offered lactose free milk at breakfast. Nice choice of usual French continental offerings, Filter coffee was fine - overall good value.
Cons: There was nothing hot at breakfast. If they just added a machine for boiling eggs and one to make better (expresso) coffee it would be perfect. There are no restaurants nearby; if you don't want to drive, you need to take a taxi into town. which is 10-15€ each way.

Breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice. Valerie was a most charming and helpful hostess, offering to make telephone bookings for us to arrange meals at local hotels etc...

Cons: Entrance for car was a bit narrow but it was a small price that had to be paid for wonderful stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet location in a small village mid way between Albert and Amiens, an ideal base for visiting the Somme area - we stayed for three nights in July. The property was beautifully furnished, beds comfortable and breakfast superb - with delicious fruit, homemade jam and fresh bread and croissants each day, plus pancakes, cheeses and meat etc etc. Plenty of room to relax both inside and out, and breakfast was taken outside when warm enough. Would not hesitate to recommend or return again.
Cons: We had to drive for our evening meals, as no where locally to eat, but thought this would be the case before we booked anyway, so not really an issue.

Hotel de la Basilique - Albert - Building
7
8.8 Excellent (273 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel de la Basilique in Albert, you'll be just steps from Notre Dame Basilica and Somme 1916 Museum.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: wonderful boutique hotel in the centre of Albert. Service excellent & staff really friendly & helpful. If you stay, you must book in the restaurant - you will not be disappointed. Excellent food & service.
Cons: Double glazed windows at the front which helps reduce the noise from the street overnight (you can get quite a drone from a car as it drives up through the town). Personally, if I stayed again, I would book a room at the rear of the hotel, but I am a light sleeper so for others it may not be an issue & the double glazing did help to a large extent. However, there is no air conditioning, so in warmer weather, these rooms may become uncomfortable which then becomes a trade-off between noise or coolness... Also, the shower floor is very slippery - it could do with an anti-slip mat in the bathroom.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a superb property. Staff are lovely and the food is excellent. We always stay here when in Albert
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location, comfortable, large room, good bathroom. Free on-street parking
Cons: No elevator!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is very well located in central Albert, for both enjoying this pleasant French town and the battlefields around it. Although compact, the rooms are very comfortable with large beds and spotless bathrooms. Tea and coffee facilities are included as is free mineral water. The restaurant attached to the hotel is very good as are others in the immediate vicinity. The tourist information office is right next door where you can rent a bike, an arguably more relaxing and peaceful way of exploring the battlefields than by car.
Cons: A continental breakfast is 10 Euros extra per person; it is fresh and convenient although some might find this rather a lot to pay for cereal, bread, croissants etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming and friendly staff. Clean comfortable room and lovely shower. Dinner was very good and excellent value for money. Being on a motorcycle parking was fairy easy.
Cons: The room was a bit warm, fortunately, being on the second floor, I was able to have some of the windows open during the night. No plug point beside the bed, I use a CPAP device so this is important to me. Fortunately I carry an extension lead so was still able to use it.
7.5 Good
Pros: Pleasant staff and super location
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyable one night stay. No issues at all . Dinner was very good. Breakfast coffee also worth it. This hotel is better than 2 stars. Lack of stars I would say is absence of lift. Clean and tidy and central position.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: For a night stop in Albert, the hotel was ideal, with a very comfy bed and a spacious room. We also had a very good meal in the restaurant in the evening. I would definitely use the hotel again
Cons: Only a slight comment, it was quiet hot night and there was no air conditioning in the room, but we did know this when we booked.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location Good standard in rooms and facilities Don't know it is only rated 2 star
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location and hotel. The food is amazing and I would highly recommend dining outside on a warm summers evening. Thank you to the excellent hosts.

Overview Reviews
Located in Heilly, L'auberge fleurie is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Notre Dame Basilica and Somme 1916 Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Located in a pretty village in the Somme area close to Albert. It is a little off the main road. The rooms are clean and adequate if a little spartan. Excellent for a nights stay while travelling or if exploring the Somme battlefields. There is a restaurant on site but it was closed on Monday - the night we stayed.
Cons: The Restaurant was closed which meant a trip to Albert. There were few places to eat open - this is in high season! There was a Tassimo Coffee maker but nonfunctional as there were no pods.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Loved it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a most lovely place to stay. The room was spacious and spotless and I was made very welcome. After a long day cycling I treated myself in the restaurant. I can honestly say the roast beef was one of the finest meals I have eaten anywhere. A superb experience and I would highly recommend it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. The meal in the restaurant was delicious and the bottle of wine was good value and excellent. The owners are very friendly. Do not judge the rooms and restaurant from the appearance of the building on the road. We had a lovely meal and a comfortable stay. This was a safe and secure stop not far from the autoroute and surrounded by the history of the Great War. (WW1). We would certainly stay again.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hosts Fabrice and Marie-Angelique are really friendly and welcoming. Excellent service all round.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here for one night and what a good night it was . We were made very welcome , and the hosts went the extra mile helping us with the menu (with our limited French) . The food really is excellent , highly recommended . Breakfast a bit limited but to be honest we were still full from the night before .
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great hosts. Rooms are old however clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable. Had dinner in the restaurant and was more than happy - food was fabulous.
Cons: Probably the due to the location however internet kept cutting out. No hair dryer provided in the room. Hot water took forever and had little pressure.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast served the night before, delivered to the room. Nice, as you could eat at your leisure, in your own time. Location perfect for exploring the WW1 memorials. Food absolutely beautiful. Owners friendly and good company.
Cons: Bedroom floors tiled so a little cold underfoot but a minor point. Cannot think of any other faults!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the little separate rooms; loved the restaurant meals; loved the location and loved the owners friendliness, helpfulness. - and sharing of local history.
Cons: Unfortunately the restaurant closed on Sunday and Monday evenings - two of the days we were there and we were not informed before booking. The breakfasts were fine and delivered to each room the previous night - this meant though that the bread was cold and tough. Price of the meals to be had in the restaurant was not correct on the booking.com ad. Those prices were for 'the workers' - ours were more expensive.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hosts, excellent atmosphere & warm welcome.
Cons: Coffee machine in room was awkward to use. A kettle and French press would be much better.

Cons: No dislikes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There were three of us in our party, two of us have stayed this Hotel on four previous occasions and it has always met our expectations. This year it seemed if possible, to be even better. We arrived at about 6.30 on Wednesday 11th September, at there was a young French girl, unfortunately I never asked her name, who spoke perfect English, and made the whole registration process at the hotel so easy. She also served at the bar and she was an absolute delight. She was also the next day on the evening shift, and for three lazy non-French speakers she made the whole stay at the hotel great. The rooms as usual were excellent, very clean, and this was the case throughout out 2 night stay. The Restaurant, both for our evening meal and breakfast was excellent, and again the staff were very helpful. As I said previously two of us had stayed that before, but the gentleman with us for his first trip was very impressed. As for the cost of our stay, both for the room and restaurant,we found that very reasonable, and when I booked out on Friday morning I was given a fully itemised bill which was great. Certainly we will be staying here again, probably the same time next year. And I would certainly like to thank all the staff who made us so welcome.
Cons: For what we wanted require from our stay, I cannot think of anything that could have been bettered. It was a great stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. Rooms were good and the staff very kind and helpful. Breakfast was very good and lots of choice.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: This was an excellent location especially as we were attending ANZAC Day Dawn service at the Australian Memorial In Villers-Bretonneux the next morning. We stayed two nights which allowed recovery time after a big day. The restaurant was great we had dinner there both nights and breakfast on our last morning. Staff do everything they can to help but you will still need your translator App on the phone to help you order what you want.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The surrounding country side, Albert, Villers-Bretonneux
Cons: Extra taxes, very expensive room,, no tea or coffee facilities
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was as expected and a good standard for the class of Hotel. The position of the Hotel is good for exploring the area ( 1st world war sites) The staff while not speaking much English are friendly and helpful. The only thing you should be aware of is that Corbie is shut Friday to Tuesday with very little open including the Hotel restaurant.
Cons: Nothing

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Not a lot. We went here for old times sake as we had had a great visit years ago. At that time the rooms were a little odd but clean but the meal in the restaurant was fabulous. This time it was dreadful, a tough steak and shell pieces in the Moules.
Cons: The rooms were not clean they smelt of boiled cabbage. The breakfast was well below average. A real disappointment.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Room ok
Cons: The manager was unpleasant. Dinner was revolting.
6.7 Good
Pros: Convenient to the centre of town
Cons: There was an unpleasant smell coming into the room from outside somewhere.
6.3 Good
Pros: Decent pizzeria directly opposite; short walk to town centre with good coffee shops (Poppy Coffee Shop especially) and restaurants.
Cons: Arrived Saturday expecting to have dinner, only to be informed that the restaurant was closed; no further explanation was forthcoming, nor when it might open. Monday lunchtime it opened and remained so that night, by which time we'd made other arrangements. Even accepting the language barrier this was easy to improve.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: That I could bring my dog :) Breakfast was good as well
7.5 Good
Pros: Old hotel but comfortable and welcoming, well located and with easy parking close by. Useful to have kettle and teamaking tray. Had good Sunday lunch in the hotel restaurant when much else closed in town. Noisy plumbing. Stayed one night, and enjoyed touring the ww1 memorials and learning history of the area.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Central location in Albert was useful.
Cons: Room furniture and en-suite was below average. No fresh food at breakfast. Loud traffic outside window. Parking provision on street.
