Parking for motos.... small narrow staircase to room 6, akward with all of our bike gear, but room was ok.
This hotel is well located, half-way between the lower town and the old town. Many rooms have balconies with mountain views. The room was very plain. Both the room and the corridors could use a fresh coat of paint. The floor was dirty and there were dirty cobwebs in the bathroom. There were no bedside lamps. The bed was hard.
Friendlyness and efficiency of the staff
Staff very pleasant. Location good The room and hotel were very much in need of repair and renovation. The room shower was off the wall due to broken bracket. The bath was dirty with missing big pieces of enamel. The TV was in a bad wall position because the power cable wire would only stretch that far across the wall from the socket! Balcony was dirty and unpainted with broken chairs. The gardens outside were like a scrap yard. My wife nearly divorced me for taking here here. This is a bikers/skiers hostel - no more.
Close to old town
The attention and service of the owner/staff was very good. They were quick to provide advice and answerws to our numerous questions and provided a lift for one of our less mobile friends, gratis. There were no provisions for evening meals. The shower head had come away from its fixing therefore you had to hold the shower, but only aminor inconvienience.
I find the hotel very late at 11 + but the key was there with my name
Had a free car park Very tatty and bathroom so old did not want to shower in it.
Good sized room. Value for money. Could do with a little refurbishment.
typical old style french hotel. good size room broken shower holder. no lighting by table
It should be empasized that hotel staffs were kind and good at English. Access from railway station is easy.
Perfect city center location. Great breakfast. 10 Euros a day for internet!!!! simply abusing. Beside, internet is advertised as being free on the internet reservation site.
The welcome was helpful, particularly with help with access to the limited parking area with barrier, The view from our room was beautifull The limited parking arrangements could be mentioned on the website.
Quite environment Bathroom old style, shower rose is a hand shower
the evening meal was excellent and the room was very comfortable and spacious breakfast was not value for money
Real Log fire, central location, secure parking, good food
seemed to be family orientated which we liked, very helpful staff
The location was very convenient for hiking and exploring the village and mountains. The staff was very friendly. The overall appearance of the hallways and rooms was dark and depressing. Our room, while clean, had a very musty smell that at times was overpowering.
Very nice reception and the parking facility around the corner. Room very nice, but the balcony in bad need of maintanence. The breakfast buffet ok. The restaurant dining room very nice, however the quality of the menu was the worst I ever had in a Logis de France restaurant. Normally in my experience l d f have excellent food in their restaurant. In fact made a complaint directly at Logis de France H.Q.
The Old Vauban Village and the Fortifications are great. Unfortunatelly I was not able to visit the Park which is just a few steps from the hotel. I would really recomend it for a relaxing tour "au bord de La Durance".
Although an older hotel, the room itself was comfortable, clean and fresh. The restaurant food was well prepared with good service. The road noise quietened down and was not a problem. The bath did not have a curtain to contain splashes from the shower, resulting in a flooded floor. Maybe the contantly-leaking water was the cause of the damp smell in the lobby and stain on the restaurant wall.
The staff was wonderful. The breakfast wasn't really that good.
Hotel Vauban was a nice hotel, close to the slopes and good location to restaurants and shops. The staff speak english and are only to pleased to help.
The main attraction is that this hotel is in the old town of Briancon, which is absolutely stunning perched up on the hill. The hotel itself is quite basic, but has the charm of an old french inn. I would think it's very much for skiers, hikers etc who are there to be in the outdoors, pretty good value.
The room was rather charming with neat antique furniture, could have done without the ancient mattress. the room's phone did not work (you could dial and receive calls but no sound went through), and they were not too happy when I asked to use the front desk phone to make a toll free call. The phone was also irritating the next morning - the staff did not notify us of checkout times, but they did call us numerous times in the morning to see if we were going to leave soon (it was still before 11 when we actually left).
good restaurant , nice decoration no
visiting "middle age fortified city" built by famous french architect : Vauban Room was too tiny
Modest, but well-run little hotel, located in the heart of the old city. Rooms are basic and would need to be refurbished, but remain perfectly acceptable. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was fine.
location good in centre of old town but quite a climb from the main town. Pleasant welcome despite late arrival-willing to prepare something to eat although 10pm. Room was small- but bed comfortable. No lounge/bar in hotel so nowhere in hotel just to sit to read except room.
A beautiful location in a walled town-wonderful experience to return after many years. Friendly helpful staff & excellent meal & rom.
I liked having the kitchen so that we could eat in occasionally. The apartment was modern and it very good shape. The associated Spirit Bar and another bar next door generated noise levels that ranged from noticeable to obnoxious, including an end of season party with a DJ that lasted until after midnight. With no air conditioning, the windows had to be left open and it was quite loud.
The reception was wonderful. Location was very difficult. to find
This hotel is right on the road to Italy and has excellent WiFi.
The friendly management and staff, the good food and the excellent location, plus easy car parking You need to be a reasonable speaker of French
Off road bike parking, friendly staff
Chaotic restaurant and limited choice
The hotel was very well located for the scenic & tourist amenities. Good off road undercover parking for motorcycles. None
Close to the Old City, within walking distance. Parking for motorcycles off the public road. Pleasant atmosphere.
Food at the restaurant Room would need more renovation
a very nice hotel, with good food at a reasonable price.
The easy to get into the old town. The semi secure parking for two motorcycles. The hotel is in need of a general revamp
The room was a good size with a nice, clean bathroom. The view from the balcony was wonderful, showing one of the forts and the surrounding mountains.
The staff were friendly, the food was good, and the location was excellent for a real countryside experience. We were there on a Saturday night, and there was a lot of noise from the restaurant till very late. I believe that the staff could have asked the guests to quieten down a lot earlier. Other than that, everything was good.
The warmth of the family environment in a enchanting, silencious winter mountain atmosphere during Christmas holydays staying a typical local warm wood house...!
Nothing When we arrived the place was closed, very poor we stayed 1 night and relocated to the Ibis in Briancon, where the service was better
Very pleasant owners and staff, very clean and warm, good size room and well apointed. Superb if not outstanding food and service. Excellent value for money. Access is via a steep winding road far longer than the website sugests.
Fantistic location with amazing views of Briancon. Ample free parking. Breakfast was a complete rip-off, orange, coffee and cold toast. Room poorly lit making it difficult to read. Very uncomfortable bed/pillows. Annoying shower facilities.
Location and scenery was spectacular, hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, room with its own balcony was comfortable, cosy and clean, evening meal was excellent
superb location, excellent food, ample parking, characterful, pleasant staff, excellent value for money
Cosy small hotel in a quiet place. Wonderful cuisine.
The view from the hotel was great although not from our room. The room was comfortable with an excellent bathroom. No-one at home when we arrived at around 5:00pm so had to wait for entry to our room. Location was not where we expected and a long drive from anywhere.
Excellent modern hotel made of wood.
Staff were very helpful; restaurant was excellent The surrounding area was still a building site
no spa no fluffy dressing goundsstaff don't know whats what we had to sit on bar stools for breakfast because our breakfast was included in the price so we were not good enough to sit with the guest that payed 15 euros in the dinning room.
The hotel was great, very chic decor and friendly staff. The meal was fantastic..think we all ate too much!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is fresh and modern, with nice design. We really liked the family suite room layout. The hotel has not been open very long, so it seems to need some finishing touches to make it top notch -- for example, the upstairs room in our duplex did not have any shower curtains.
We had a very good stay at the hotel St Antoine. The owner is very friendly and had prepared a breakfast for us to have in our room for an early start the following day. The room was very clean and with a great view over the surrounding hills.
Friendly, helpful staff, adequate room, convenient location near railway station and not far from town centre. Great view of mountains from room window. Delightfully idiosyncratic ancient room lock which had been installed the wrong way round so you had to insert the key upside down and turn it in what would normally be the wrong direction. The room description on Booking.com said the room had a toilet: it did not. The toilet was at the end of the corridor, down a short flight of stairs. I felt the price charged for the room reasonably reflected this, but was unhappy that the facilities were not what I believed I had booked.
the meal was OK The room was terrible, cold - no heating in mid-Oct in the Alps(!) - a WC down the corridor?! Nowadays it would not qualify as a UK youth hostel.
Good simple hotel does exactly what it says on the tin. Recommended no fresh croissants or pain au chocolate for breakfast!!
The hotel was situated at the top of a hill, it wasn't too steep and for younger backbackers would have been a doddle to walk to from the town. As it was, us two middle agers found it useful to walk our dinner off each evening and only really 'felt' the steep-ness after having walked down from the mountains for five hours the day before! Our room had no loo, which was unexpected, and not as inconvenient as I would have imagined before experiencing it, as we only shared the two toilets with other rooms without. Some rooms were ensuite and you get what you pay for. Ours had brill shower and sink, and was cleaned regly. We had a balcony (albeit old and in need of a coat of paint) and we did get a 'view' which we requested. Owner is delightful When we arrived there didn't appear to be anyone about and if other guests hadn't arrived to let us in we would have been stuck outside unsure of what to do. Once inside, a board told us in French (ours isn't ery good) that our key was in the door and which room was allocated to us. The next morning at breakfast we asked for the pass number to enter, which was good for safety aspect. There was always a giant alsation around (I'm not fond of dogs) which didn't bother us, but it was obvious from dog hairs present that it entered the breakfast room and the bedrooms! France is different to England................
The staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast was very relaxed and lots of choice. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant but the locals think very highly of it. Our room was very comfortable, we stayed in a suite, and had just the right temperature. It was ideally postioned for both the old town and the pistes. Some hotels we have visited in the past we have suffered with noise from ajoining rooms, but this was not the case for Mont Thabor, we slept soundly every night.
Friendly helpful staff and good breakfast facilities and choice.Good view of the ski slope. The room was quite small and tight even for two people but functional. There was a slighty unpleasant odour on the stair case from reception to 3rd Floor.
Leaving. Disgusting - not very worthy of being called a hotel - let alone The Grand Hotel.there were no beds in our room, only cupboards to make your own- dinner was terribly slow ant there was no hot water - unbelivably bad.
location to our bike journey breakfast was worse than mediocre
Its very close to the ski Lifts. Has a ski boot drying rack and lockers. Good car park, Nice breakfast, loads of food. Staff Nice, can speak English well and are helpfull. Rooms a little small, but nice enough.
good location, nice restarant,
