Lovely little hotel. Fantastic staff, nothing too much trouble for them.
As our flight was delayed and we urgently needed to find a hotel in Buenos Aires for another night, we were lucky to get the last room in this great hotel in Palermo. Someone had cancelled on short-notice and we grabbed the room, and very much enjoyed our stay. Lou and Lucas were both super friendly and helpful, and spoke English extremely well. Our room was huge and well-designed with a large, comfortable bed. The bathroom was modern - and both water pressure and temperature were way better than at most places we stayed at during our trip around Argentina. We had a little balcony facing the street, but insulation of the windows worked well so that our room was quiet at night. Breakfast is either served in the room or the little patio, we chose the latter. There is no menu, you basically arrange your choices with the receptionist and it is made-to-order. You can get various egg dishes, toast, croissants, fresh fruit, cheese/ham, jam/dulce the leche, coffee or tea, etc. The location in Palermo is very convenient - there are restaurants and bars aboard in this area, from fast food burger places to upscale restaurants and speakeasy bars. We found Palermo a very good choice as it is a lively quarter with many options for going out at night - and liked Sunday‘s street fair at Plaza Socorro which is a short walk away. We would clearly come backt to this hotel and its great location and service!
Nothing, everything was perfect.
The staff at The Glu were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They helped us coordinate a tango show, gave us restaurant recommendations, and always greeted us in the friendliest manner—you will absolutely get great service with everyone you meet here. Breakfast was good, rooms were spacious, and the neighborhood was really fun. Overall, would absolutely recommend.
If you’re exploring downtown Buenos Aires and taking the metro at all, the station is a pretty far walk (about 20 minutes, if not more) from the hotel. However, the neighborhood of Palermo where the hotel is located is packed with stores and restaurants, and felt very safe. I also didn’t love that breakfast was served in the room ... I prefer to pick and choose from options, and it was a little awkward to order on the first day because we didn’t know what was available, and we couldn’t remember the number for the front desk (no instructions/menu in the room). But that’s more of a personal preference. Otherwise, everything was great!
breakfast was poor
