I do not speak Spanish and have never travelled on my own but felt well looked after and safe.
In New Zealand you can generally make yourself tea and coffee whenever you like in an hotel or it is available.

Carlos at the front desk was wonderful! He got taxis for us and was very helpful with dining suggestions & questions about safety in the city. All the staff were polite and helpful. The location was excellent for shopping, restaurants and explaining to taxis where to drop us for the hotel.
Not all the taxis knew they could pull up to the front door of the hotel even though it was on a pedestrian street so we were left at the main street curb with all our luggage when we first arrived.

Good beds, no wall-to-wall carpets...
Receptionist could have informed us at our departure that he did not succeed to get a taxi for us - instead of trying to avoid us - thus we could have avoided rushing into the metro carrying our suitcase and being afraid of coming late to the bus terminal...

The staff were very helpfull.
The breakfast buffet did not include fresh fruit, which is the industry standard these days. The internet facility rates were very high!
