The staff was helpful, the room was clean & homely.. Food was also brilliant.. Highly recommended
Very clean, stylish and comfortable, good food.
Good personal service and standard of rooms excellent. Easy to find and located within easy walking distance of the town centre. Parking limited.
Lovely place to stay, nicely decorated very relaxing. Good choice of breakfast, very pleasant time will be going back again.
Friendly atmosfere.Clean.Wonderful garden. No
Clean and freshly painted, lots of toiletries in bathroom, comfy bed. Breakfasts are fantastic. Hosts very knowledgable about area and always helpful and willing to give advice. Hosts work hard to ensure a peaceful stay for everyone. Slow to top up orange juice at breakfast, floor boards in room above were creaky, didnt help having 2 gorillas bounding about which is not Coach House fault. Minor, very minor fault picking really.
The garden was pleasant and well cared for, a definite asset The food was poorly prepared and the menus exaggerated the meals
Hotel was very well located. Food was very good and the general ambience of the public areas - bar and restaurant - was similarly good. I would certainly stay again, although might not go for a superior room, as it did not feel overly superior! Tatty coathangers in the wardrobe, not one of which was suitable to hang trousers
Lovely food from the bar, great breakfast and lovely views from our room. Bed was hard and uncomfortable.
the bar area was very nice and evening staff were friendly. the bathroom wasn't up to a standard of cleanliness
It was very expensive for all that was available.
very friendly staff, gorgeous food and will be returning NA
easy access to town and interesting areas of brecon the member of staff handling breakfast appeared to be alone and therefore the meal was slow with food running out several times with quite a wait for replenishment
The view from the room windows was absolutely great. The ambience of the room was pretty good too (when the heating WAS working! We had no heating in the room on the mornng or our stay, with -11 outside it was a bit nippy!
Great ambiance and atmosphere, old world charm with modern amenities, a little quirky with slightly sloping floors but that added to the charm of the place. Our room was right beside a cupboard with some kind of noisy machinery inside that you could hear from our room, but despite our fears it didn't keep us awake.
The hotel was in a central location of the town with outstanding views of the Brecon Beacons
The walk around the Elan valley Nothing
Lovely location and owmers were very hospitable The booking procedure was confusing because I gave credit card details and had assumed that the accomm was paid for...as it turned out we nearly left without paying. Please confirm that the credit card details will be cancelled.
Nice welcome. Quite peaceful. Nice breakfast Room small unfortunately central heating not working but alternative provided. Couldnt find Sky News but that may be just cos I am no good at it.
The host was very welcoming, food was also good, breakfast excellent, in a relaxed environment. For a king size room, it was adequate, but gave off a foisty smell. The wc made loud noises when flushed, the basin was very small, there wasn't a bath.
Friendly, helpful proprieter. Room was bright, clean, and all mod cons. In-room wireless Internet access was a plus. Excellent choices for full English breakfast.
Great welcome, top class breakfast, would recommend. Excellant location for Rhayadar.
Friendly owners. Couldn't pay by credit/debit card. This could well be a problem if you don't carry a cheque book.
Good parking, nice room with comfortable bed and en suite facilities that worked! Lovely freshly cooked breakfast with proper toast and coffee. None
Warm welcome, room clean & tidy, towels etc present, tea/coffee etc present. Nothing was switched on in room, had to hunt for plugs behind furniture, set clock-radio. Heating was on & off (presumably thermostat elsewhere in house.
the size of the room was impressive for a small place and the facilities were very good, very hospitable host, fantastic breakfast nice atosphere in the evenings. having to go home again.
The staff were fantastic! Should be a later check out!
Friendly staff, no hassle
Excellent location and very comfortable accomodation...will use again.
Warm welcome, comfortable clean room, good meals and excellent breakfast. Brillient location for watching the red kites and visiting the Elan Valley. Out of your control, but the hourly chimming of the town clock during the night was a bit annoying!
Excellent room facilities, especially the bed is really comfort. There is no table in the room.
the space/excelant decor/staff friendliness. Their bistro next door was excallant with the food being first class. would not hesitate to re-book.
comfortable room and friendly staff no
The room we had was very luxurious for the price and was also very clean and well furnished. The breakfast was really good - the bacon was of a very high quality. We will definitely be returning to Ty Morgan in the near future. We had no complaints at all and only wished we could have stayed there longer.
The location is great for exploring the Elan Valley. I would recommend hiring a mountain bike and travelling along the path, spectacular views. Not much happening in the town itself. We weren't sure whether our room was ready on arrival. The room was contemporary, but lacking in atmosphere. There was a low beam in our room and we had to walk around with a stoop. Also there was nowhere to hang clothing and not many mirrors. If you wanted to dry your hair, there was nowhere to do this. No dressing table. At breakfast there wasn't much choice. No teaspoons for yogurts, no sauces. Staff disappeared for a long time, leaving guests wondering how long they would have to sit. Toast arrived, but there was no butter. Little touches would have helped.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful, but respected our privacy. They got the balance just right. Nothing.
It's central location.
Nice old building kept in a good and clean condition. Friendly atmosphere and friendly staff. With a good location in the centre of Brecon.
The full english breakfast was exellent. The whole feel to the place was nice and laid back, The room was not cleaned or visted by a maid the whole time we where tthere, which was two nights. Also the rooms are a bit close together.
we have stayed at the wellington twice this year and enjoyed both stays the staff and really friendly and it is very chilled out and relaxing we have no complaints the hotel is in the ideal location
the room size was excellent though would've benefited from a more thorough clean. the food at the hotel was of a good quality and very good value for money. on a whole a very relaxed atmosphere with in the hotel with a wide range of cultures and nationalalitys. the only fault would be there is no hotel parking though there are several car parks within an easy reach of the hotel.
The staff were polite and helpful; the food was very good and not too expensive; the rrom was warm and perfect for what I needed. The room was quite basic, no TV remote and the TV picture was very poor; these are very minor issues and overall it was fine.
Relaxed atmosphere No adjacent parking
Poor atmosphere, poor attitude, not welcoming.
This Hotel needs checking or taken off your books
dining was perfect!! Welcome could be more friendly. We stayed in some similar hotels and think this one is somewhat overpriced.
The staff were very friendly - the room was excellent - evening meal first class and a great location. No bad points
Very relaxing ambience and excellent courteous friendly service Lovely room but at top of hotel, 4 medium flights of stairs, not suitable for less mobile and no mention of this when booking with booking.com
Availability of the Gym I prefer NOT to stay in modern hotel boxes. Temperature control in the bathroom
Fabulous location; great menu & dining; superb room; unexpectedly well appointed leisure facilities; very friendly and relaxing atmosphere
The food was excellent as was the service. The staff were friendly and accomodating. We fely the room was a little dusty and the bidet had no hot water.
I loved it, the room, the restaurant, the spar, the location all 5* It was peaceful vary relaxing. Nothing
The New Inn is a nice, friendly, comfortable place which served us with excellent Thai food (other menu available). After a long day walking in the Brecons we checked in to a friendly atmosphere where the staff couldn't help us enough. The bar was well stocked with a variety of draught beers and the first Guinness went down like a treat. The room, although basic, was clean, airy, and warm. There wasn't a bath in our room but a decent electric shower which chucked out loads of hot water. It was also furnished with a good size freeview telly for crashing out on the bed and watching. Value for money, I'd say the New Inn is an excellent place to stay and would definately consider again in the near future for a weekend stay.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the extras in the room, such as a bowl of fruit and chilled milk and orange juice were very welcome. The staff were anxious to please and truly delightful people. The restaurant was first class. The rooms were fairly small and the twin bed room did not have en-suite facilities. The car park was also a tight fit.
The room was clean.....the booking was easy and the bed was comfy! The room did not look like the pics, I thought it was in brecon due to the address but was actually a number of miles outside, when the tap was turned on downstairs or the loo was flushed the water pipes screamed in my room, their idea of bed and breakfast was cereals in a cupboard in your room and no opportunity to go downstairs. checkout was by 11am so I left at 10....there was no one around for me to give my key to so I just left.
The room was recently refurbished, as advertised, however; the shower was not! The bedding was feather, which was lovely and toasty and the mattress was very comfortable. The room was generally very clean, however I do have a critical eye as I run a cleaning company! The member of staff that greeted us and showed us to our room was wonderful, but the other members of staff were very shy - lovely, but shy. We also ate in the restaurant, which served beautiful thai food that my partner and I enjoyed very much. The shower head was from the 80's and the shower unit took a long time to heat the water. The shaver light did not work, which was a little frustrating when trying to apply make-up for a wedding reception. The tv stopped working when we arrived back after our night and didn't work again in the morning - I think the batteries had gone flat in the remote for the freeview box. I was also upset that they added 10% to our food bill as a service charge. I would have left a tip, however it made our meal nearly £30, which was nearly as much as the room for the night!
Comfortable little hotel with friendly and competent staff. Very good Thai food.
Politeness of staff, Thai restaurant. Breakfast! This was two containers of cereal, fruit, fruit juice and drink making facilities in my room. In every other B&B/hotel I have stayed, breakfast means breakfast in a dining room. The New Inn web site says each room has room has "it's own private shower room". My "private shower room" was along the corridor and wasn't private as evidence left by other users showed. The other problem was noise. If I wanted an early night there was quite a bit of noise while the bar was open, though it was quiet once the bar emptied.
- Newly refurbished - cheap - very clean - You have to make your own breakfast - double bed is very narrow
The staff were friendly and helpful The room is noisy and could not sleep. The electric shower in the room did not give hot water
The locals for a chat
everything was fantastic would stay there again
Very high standard of accommodation with a friendly welcome, excellent breakfast and very good value for money.
exceptional food/attention to detail no
Room was brilliant as was the whole experience. Tony was an excellent host. None to think of.
Very pleasant well run hotel with a good breakfast and attentive staff None
Very beautifull B&B in a very nice surroundings with lovely and friendly hosts.a wonderfull Breakfast, would recommend to anyone... None, everything was excellent
Very well appointed, spotlessly clean, comfortable relatively late booking in time
Could not fault this guesthouse
Very welcoming and friendly hosts. a wonderful room withexcellent facilities. None.
excellent high quality
good service from the members of staff i met
The position of Hotel was very good and the food was good The Hotel was very tired and needed decoration and refurbishment to improve its standing all round
Friendly staff and good service I woudn't say I didn't like it but the hotel room was overdue for decorating, having said that it was spotlessly clean.
Nice, friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast, nice bar area, rooms clean but could do with a freshen up. Carpets in the bathroom!
The staff were friendly and the room and facilities were clean. Though the weather can't be helped, the window pane in my room rattled with the wind outside leading to a sleepless night. The room was very cold and required a standalone electric heater to keep it warm.
Value for money but it does need a make over but it reflects that in the prices, if it was all decorated the tarrif would go up. On arrival it was raining and the first thing that we saw and had to avoid was dripping water over the entrance. I think it had been dripping for some time as there was a large water mark on the coconut mat at the door. I thought it was going to be a Faulty Towers hotel, but no it was good value for money, but I strongly suggest you get the drip sorted as it is not a very good first impression.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice spacious room.
Freindly staff It looks a bit worn, past its best
I stayed at the hotel for the first time though I visit llandrindod Wells for the first time. Value for money was superb. I will stay again. Nothing
It was very good value for the money charged. The breakfast was very good for the price. The rooms were a little 'weary' bathroom flooring showing wear and the wallpaper in room and a few of the fixtures no longer worked. - heated towel rail.
I felt comfortable and welcomed. The breakfast was amazing...white linens and the food was prepared expertly and served by nice people. Dinners were excellent and well priced. The room was basic, but clean. I think the staff was wonderful. Overall I liked it very much, just as I imagined a pub/hotel in Wales might be. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
Loved the room nber 4. Step down into bathroom even at 5ft 2 I bumped my head.
An excellent place to stay for anyone visiting this beautiful part of Wales. Located in a quiet wooded valley a short drive from the local town of Llanwrtyd Wells this is the ideal place to stay for anyone wanting to enjoy beautiful views and a warm welcome from the owners. Rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfasts are excellent. All in all a great place to stay.
Excellent country location with a beautiful garden and local walks, welcoming and very friendly hosts, first class breakfast with home-baked bread. Although there are dedicated bathrooms for each room, they are not en-suite and entrance is from the common landing. The bed in our room was a little softer than we like.
It was a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in a beautiful environment with very hospitable hosts. No
Beautiful setting very quiet and relaxing. Loved the views and the beautiful garden and different flowers.shame it was raining!!. The hospitatlity was brilliant ,lovely breakfast great choice. Loved the pet dog.
Location clean and well presented very good breakfast friendly welcom Room not ensuite no view from room
friendly and clean. great breakfast.
very enjoyable stay in comfortable room with excellent breakfast.
Ardwyn House has to be one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed at. Katie and Roger made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. The house itself has been beautifully renovated in art nouveau style and the rooms are extremely comfortable. a real treat was the home-made cake that appeared at tea time every day - get Roger to bake the Lemon Drizzle cake if you visit - it is to die for! Breakfast was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - we can't recommend it highly enough! No - we liked everything!
We enjoyed our stay in every respect. The house was beautyful and excellently renovated, our room including bathroom very lovely, also breakfast room, launch and library with pool billard. But most of all to be complimented are the hosts, a very likeable young couple that does everything to make you feel welcome, cooks a wonderful breakfast, bakes cakes etc. They are always friendly and ready for a joke. Best regards to Katie and Roger, all the best to you and thank so much again.
We had a wonderful time. The house is spacious and beautiful. Our room had amazing views. Afternoon tea was homemade lemon drizzle cake and a cafetiere of coffee. The breakfast was lovely and all cooked to order. The rooms were great with an amazing roll top bath. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were of thr highest quality. There is Molly the dog on the premises, so if you are not a dog lover that maybe a bit tricky.
Lovely family running the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Very good cooked breakfast and charming surroundings. Would certainly return again. No.
Lovely house and decor. Friendly and helpful proprietors. Very generous breakrfast beautifully presented. It would have been nice to have a shower as well as the bath.
The generous breakfast that kept us going all day long Coming back to a warm friendly welcome each day that included freshley baked home-made cakes The lovely friendly atmosphere of the guest house Roger's little scenic drives None
The Ardwyn House exceeded all expectations. R and k were the perfect hosts, the breakfast was by far the best I've had at a b&b, the room was spacious, clean and very, very comfortable with a huge en suite which was also spotless! We found the location of Ardwyn House to be perfectly located - the coast, Brecon Beacons, and so much more are all within an easy country drive. R and k are very knowledgeable about the area and are only too happy to help point you in the right direction; our trip was all the more enjoyable for having followed their advice! I cannot think of a single bad point. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
Roger and Katie are great hosts, we were amazingly well looked after. Greeted with tea and scones and shown to a very attractive room with a sumptious bathroom. We booked in for three nights and enjoyed every one. Breakfast was lovely, clearly made from quality ingredients. We were even treated to afternoon tea and homemade cake each day! Roger was on hand with maps and ideas for great walks in the area, some of which you can easily do from Adrwyn House. The town, despite being small has a several good places to eat and drink, all very reasonably priced and within easy walking distance from Adrwyn House. There is also a station in the town so if you don't have a car this would be a great place for a weekend away. On leaving it was more like saying good bye to friends than checking out, such was the welcome of our stay. We'd definatly recomend you stay.
The atmosphere of staying in a luxurious private house, with gourmet food to match and unobtrusive but attentive staff.
Equisite feel of a country house
The seting of the Hall was wonderful and the food was excellent. We did find the hotel quite warm but do understand the need to keep temperature at a certain level
From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and at home. Without exception the staff were delightful, it is difficult to fault it for the price. Also for the price the food was very good indeed. All in all very comfortable and relaxing. The car park which is outside the entrance to the Hotel was a sea of muddy water which made an awful mess on the inside of our car on departure. For a hotel of this standard it should be a solid surface. It would also benefit from some lighting. The location map on the agencies website is incorrect, it shows Llangoed hall on the A470 South of Brecon just before the Village of Lebanus.
unobtrusive style and comfort- the pictures- the setting and the food
the polite and really helpful staff and size of the bedrooms and beutiful set out gardens
Loved the relxed country house style, like staying in someone else's home. A very peaceful stay. Staff welcoming and friendly. Would have preferred the dinner menu to have changed more frequently. The quality of food was good but the lack of variety may be a problem for stays of more than a few days.
The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. This combined with excellent facilities made the stay very enjoyable. The location also gives easy access to the countryside while being a short walk to the facilities of Llanwrtyd Wells.
Very welcoming hosts in a small, quiet guest house. Good facilities in the comfortable room.
The owners are extremely friendly and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We travelled with a small baby and they made an extra effort to help us caring for him,
High quality, comfortable, relaxing stay with excellent breakfast and plenty of local choice for eating-out. Best nights sleep in weeks! Close to Myndd Epynt and the Brecon Beacons.
Landlady was very friendly and helpful. For example, offered use of their drying room and pegs to dry out my wet kit. Novel use of building fitted out to high standard.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Shirley at the Plasnewydd B&B, Very friendly service and an excellent room and breakfast, Would recommend to anyone and shall be booking again when we next visit the area.
The owner was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure that the guests are comfortable. The room was very nice and everything about the hotel was very welcoming.
Photo's and details of room facilities were accurate. The only thing which could be altered is the fact that we gave our card details online to book the Hotel, thinking we had paid. It needs to be clearly marked on the website that card details are only taken to secure your reservation and that cash has to be paid for rooms at Hotel.
Very quiet, excellent cooked breakfast, adequate parking facilities, good value for money. Run by a very pleasant and helpful lady. Payment by cash only. This was in the tiny small print, which I had not read, so it caught me off-guard. Booking.com website could do with making this more prominent, as there is no free cashpoint in the village.
Made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much bother, especially the request for an early breakfast Sunday morning. Would reccommend and will stay again if in the area.
