Room smartly designer Poor gym limeted equipment and equipment not working well
No tea or Coffee facilities
Great Staff, Excellent Service. Nothing
I liked that description of the hotel fully conforms what I have found there - no surprises and that was good.
Nespresso machine in bedroom was nice. TV picture poor.Breakfast expensive.
Location, very convenient for the train station and city centre.
cetrally located, modern lobby, good breakfast the pictures show other rooms than i got (not renovated)
all paperwork ready - single signature required. Very quick and easy
The dinning room staff was very good, Good menu. The exercise facilty was disappointing. The machines were broken and old.
Good location Expensive parking
Very close to place of work Too far out from city centre
it was just a stop over while waiting for the ferry the cost of the breakfast was unreasonable
sauna and breakfast the lady in the front desk was not polite enough when we asked the transportation to the city, and she didn't show us clearly, we got back to ask again when we were out and found that's uneasy to find the direction.
great leasure center, excellent breakfast 7 km far away from city center, but the bus stop is close to hotel
Being in the swimming-pool yacuzzi until 23.00 They did not have hot chocolate, but it was not important
The spa and the quite environment made it a pleasant stay.the room was clean and all the comodities where there.the materass was a really good and firm one.
business trip - i had to study so couldn't enjoy the facilities no , very pleased
Very comfortable spacious room, good restaurant with prompt service. Nice lobby with free internet and business center.
rooms are very luxery
Decor meybe a bit out of date.
The location is excellent fo business travellers, being adjacent to the station. The room was far too hot and had no temparature control that worked. The internet system with its passwords and codes to be retreived from the front desk was archaic and ridiculous. The in room amenities, from the nearly broken chair to the awful shower and its primitive shower curtain were very poor and archaic.
Cleanliness, no fuss, comfortable room near the place where I had to be. the noise from outside, but that is something that the hotel cannot help
Having the Ludden restaurant attached provided an excellent and convenient dining experience. Cost of the breakfast is too expensive
They renovated the floor I stayed at, and that ment that there was a very bad smell from painting and the builders started working at 7 in the morning!
It`s small and comfortable , it has nice surroundings. There was no fridge with cold drinks in the room:)
The location was very good. The lighting in our room was very poor and the room was cold when we first arrived - it took us some time to figure out how to work the heating. Also there was apparently a mouse in the breakfast room on one of the mornings while we were there. We didn't see it but other guests reported it to us and told us not to sit in a certain area of the breakfast room. Apparently mice are common in buildings in Utrecht as the buildings are so old, but I still didn't like it.
friendliness and helpful reception/bar staff
Comfortable, well appointed hotel in a good location Bells. There are church bells all Sunday morning, not too early (starting say 9 or 10), but then continuing non-stop. It was unbelievable, like a horror movie.
Location Pricing, outrageous... for a simple basic 4 star hotel. Moreover, arriving at 21.00 the kitchen was closed and no warm food was available...Every monday the kooker goes home earlier :)
close to messe hall the towels looked dirty
Convenient location near the train station. The hotel was run-down and old - peeling paint, dirty carpets, rusty bathroom fixtures... it was depressing, certainly not up to the standard of other NH hotels I have stayed in.
The staff is very polite and helpful. Very good location close to the train station and expositions facilities( Messe) No safety box in the room. Breakfast very expensive. We had breakfast out of the hotel. For the high price of the room the breakfast should be included.
Unclear information about where the restaurants were and their menus. This may have been because the hotel was being refurbished at the time. Dining alone one evening was a slightly uncomfortable experience with very slow service.
Very good.modern hotel with good facilities
It's location Having to chase tea & creamer for the room. Lacks those little extras like real milk, biscuits in room, toiletries, all of which use to be provided. I have stayed in this hotel every year for the last 10 years.
Decent Hotel For The Money Bit far away from amsterdam itself. 30-45 min train journey and at 11Euro a return ticket can get expensive!
Hotel location. Ability to access printing facilities in lobby was very handy. Would have liked supplies in room to have been replenished on second day i.e. i.e. bags.
good location too noisy
location, bed reception desk (incoming calls) was populated with a bunch of laughing children calling themselves the staff
Quiet atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get to from the airport, train, or car. I first stayed there in 1993. Stayed again in 1996 and 2001 with my wife.
The friendliness and service of the staff. The prices of the minibar. the food wasnt great, the room was bit dirty, like the phone and the remote control were sticky! Think it needs a good cleaning in and out! Even with the price I paid (90 euro per night) I expect a littlebit better.
good breakfast, noce personell, During renovations of this hotel it is unavoidable noisy.
Staff was quite pleasant. However for lunch it was more geared to groups with no a la carte for individual bookings. Very limited choice for health conscious beings. The room price was a normal rate despite the fact that there was noisy renovations going on. This was not mention in the time of electronic booking. However the library corner was one good new addition but it was still being worked on.
The free wireless internet and mini-bar fridge in my room were nice amenities. The hotel bar and restaurant were very nice atmosphere, and food was excellent. The Hotel was out of the city center, but convenient nonetheless and well priced accordingly. No. Everything was more than satisfactory.
Friendliness of staff
Staff were friendly and helpful Unfortunately, this hotel is undergoing major construction. Noise, dust, lack of parking on the premises... is a serious issue. My feeling is they should have closed the place for the duration. They did give us a bottle of house wine when we checked in, though. Also, there were no towels in our room when we got there...
The staff was very helpful and nice. We enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was really really good. The bed in our room was uncomfortable, and there was no play ground for kids.
peaceful loctaion. Breakfast being included was a nice bonus
Very quiet location next to a forest, very good standard and wonderful price on Sundays.
Everything, especially the restaurant. The retaurant staff were all very nice to us.
The staff were very helpful and freindly We did not like the twin beds and the fact that we could not make a cup of coffee in the comfort of our room due to us not having a coffee maker in the room
service fine and kind
breakfast, position bathroom could be better
Buffet breakfast. Free partking & WiFi. Ideally suited for business travellers. I guess the quality of the cooked meat products for breakfast could be improved.
Nice surroundings and everything very neat and clean. Beds were very soft and terrible on our backs. Time they looked into the possibility of orthopedic matresses or at least the option of firmer matresses at clients request.
nice sorroundings, quietly located in the old park,
very peaceful athmosphere in a lovely setting- accommodation clean and well laid out- staff friendly and helpful- good public transport links to main cities i.e. 50 mins to Amsterdam
Very good hotel. We stayed in the new wing and the room was clean and modern. The hotel is in a quiet foredt setting so a car is required. The hotel was not busy during the weekend.
It was a lovely location. The hotel was peaceful - perhaps as it was a weekend visit. Conveniently located for exploring the area - cycling and walking. The breakfast is extensive, but could be more varied. We stayed 3 nights and the (warm) food was the same every day.
Next door to where I was having a meeting the next day Lack of accurate travel information to reach the hotel by public transport rather than car. They mention train-taxis which no longer exist in Holland in that area.
comfortable, accessible and in attractive surroundings. staff were very helpful. the early check out time of 9.00 am.
It was out of the city and offered a nice taste of the countryside with some class Weekend breakfast should start at least at 6:30 as many of us have business early in the city Sat and Sun
Very nice surrounding, good breakfast, friendly service and nice rooms.
the food was in the restaurant small in portion and in my personal oppinion (and of my staff who stayed there as well) poorly of quality for the price we payed
Because it was a weekend, there was not so many guests therefore not so many smokers. ( I am allergic to smoke). The front desk was very nice, all the staff greeted to me when we passed by. The breakfast was great, a restaurant they recommended us to go was nice Dutch. Espresso machine was out of use, maybe the machines are there just for hot water.
The hotel is clean and new, and is located in a beautiful walking area. It's actually a business conference centre. It's huge, and seemed completely empty, maybe because it was a saturday. Hanging out in the bar we were the only customers.
The private car parking of the hotel was not safe. The baby bed was not good.
Rooms had been refurbished, Good TV service, Helpful staff Slow lift
The staff , very good , helpfull , polite , happy , spoke good english , dining room food very good , overall great hotel , Special thank you to tim at front counter . No
Breakfast is very good for so called Ibis level.
poor service in hotel bar
Nothing We were treated appallingly by the reception staff who tried to make us return to Amsterdam
The buffet Breakfast was great although i felt 13euro was maybe a little steep. The staff were very helpful. The location was not too far from the central station, although a tram was necissary. Overall a pleasant stay, but I wouldnt say its the best place ever.
great location for city centre and value for money
You have to pay for the wifi. They did not want to use the credit card provided at the booking. They asked us for another credir card.So if your company is paying for the stay keep in mind you will have to pay yourself once there.(but if it is a no shoxw then they use your company credit card to take the cancelation fees!)
Friendly staff and easy parking and access
really picturesque setting, a relaxing break from the craziness of Amsterdam
Area, Staff, Good Public Transport !
To meet other persons The rain
the place out of the room is beautiful
Nice location, near a forest. But pretty far from the city center, which is also easy to rich by bus (10 min).
The hotel is close to the train station (5 minutes by walk); professional hotel staff; excellent breakfast; quiet room; etc
It was clean hotel with decent breakfest serving. Room was clean, pleasent enviroment.Pricelevel can be accepted. If only, than workers behind window started to work 7.30, I wasn't ready for this....
I did not like it at all. There was too much effort put into the business conferencing. The atmosphere, the bed was uncomfortable, there was not enough attention to detail in stocking up our room with tea and coffee. We had to ask for more supplies and more pillows. The towells were far too small. I would expect this was a much cheaper hotel.
The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean, including a good bed and mattrass. The food was not that good -I had a soup and beefcarpaccio. I missed a hairdryer in the bathroom and a holder for showergel etc in the shower.
The room used to be a smoking room and still smelled of smoke. No watercooker or facilities in room to make tea or coffee.
Room was nice and bed was cosy Showers didnt have proper draining so entire bathroom floor could get wet
Parking facilities and immediate access to motorway Staff in restaurant is unfit
The room was too cold, even with the radiator working. The big sofa in front of it just block the heat. The air conditioning control on the wall seems not to work or make any change. I wake up in the morning with a nasty cold.
good rate , away from City traffic jams, near to Highway, very good restaurant
I liked the decor and the ambiance That I didn't have time to fully expirence the hotel
It is an extraordinary place, design, style and atmosphere is wonderful. I recommend this place for short trip to the Netherlands.
It was clean. Interesting design. Not really suitable for buisiness travel. Difficulty in obtaining proper invoice. Breakfast available since 11 in a restaurant downstairs. Probably good but if you are on business trip it is non convenient
Nespresso coffemaker and spacious room
Pretty restaurant, wonderful Libanese food. Super friendly staff. Room was nice, hallways a bit dark. Nevertheless, I'll be back.
the bathroom! the design of the hotel, the colours n/a
The room was unique
It is a nice, clean hotel. There was no Reception Area, so there was no one to hassle you. It was a relaxed, chill-out atmosphere. The location was good and there was a bus stop across the street from the hotel to take you into the town centre and train station. Everything in the room was blue/turquoise and it made the room very dark. The lighting was bad and it was not possible to read. I had to sit on the window sill to read. The ethnic decor though funky would be more suited to a young couple in love. The room (with double bed only) was not suitable for me, as I shared the room with a male relative who slept on the couch. There was no facility for a second bed in the room. The room was too pricey and I did not find it value for money.
The location in the picturesque little town of IJsselstein is excellent as a basis for visiting Utrecht, Den Haag, Leiden and also farther places such as Hoge Veluwe.. The rooms are in very good shape and kept very clean. The breakfast is excellent, don't miss it and finally the staff is one family who is very friendly and helpful
The hotel restaurant was very good, and was probably the best in town. The staff were very helpful and carried out my requests accurately. It needs an English translation of their web page.
The staff were very helpful. Steep Stairs. This was a bit difficult to climb with suitcases. My colleague is 60+ hence lifting suitcase for him was a little difficult. There was a lift but not sure whether it was for genenral public or only for disabaled.
close to the twon there was no area where one could sit and read or meet like a loung ,one had to be their room or in a cafe ,TV to small ,all the windows had whiteing on them ,some light came in but not much and it made it very close feelling .One was unable to see out of the windows
Nice clean hotel, good helpful staff, good location, good facilities. In my room there was a frosted glass window which didn't open. So no view and little fresh air. It got very warm making it difficult to sleep. I would suggest installing air conditioning in this room. Apart from this, it was a good hotel. I would recommend this hotel to others, but advise them to request a room with opening window.
Enjoyable small town, good restaurant suggestions.
The restaurant of the hotel was a nice surprise. The staff was very friendly.
Very pleasant atmosphere in the hotel. The offered public internet didn't work, but thanks to very helpfull staff I received the information that I wanted.
Good hotel, friendly people.
O staff, breakfast and the confortable room
Is a little outside Utrecht centre but accessible by bus. Room was extremely comfortable with English TV and coffee maker, dressing gown was provided. Owners were extremely friendly and helpful and when I asked about local ATMs, they were happy to give me cash on a debit card transaction. Breakfast was a bit expensive at €10. Other than that, no complaints.
The friendliness of the staff
The Hotel is a late 19th Century town house and has original features, set in a nice location. The owners were friendly and helpful.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly eneough. the room was large, comfortable, tastefully decorated and well equiped, with a balcony overlooking a large back garden leading to a tree-lined canal. Breakfast was always delicious and fresh, and the staff were always warm, welcoming, friendly, accommodating and helpful. I would have no hesitation to book again at this hotel if I return to Utrecht. The bathroom could do with a bit of redecoration as it does not seem to match the comfortable modernity of the rest of the room. But this is nit-picking as it was spotlessly clean and fully functioning.
Very good and comfortable family run hotel. Is worth more than two stars.
Hotel staffs are very well. no
The charming staff, they were always there and helpful
Very friendly atmosphere and comfortable.
a) The service, b) Customer Care, c) Easy Transport, d) Location Don't think anythink I didn't like
Clean Hotel Beautiful Location Walls are paper thin can hear the people next door talk and what they say
Location was just perfect for us. Free use of internet. Clean rooms with adequate furnishing. Free parking. Bicycle rental at EUR 8.50 a day. Safe in each room. The one window in the room opens just a crack. The safe in our room didn’t work for 4 days, but we were offered another room with a working safe. There is a printing service at the reception but when I wanted to use it, I was informed that for some technical reason printing was not possible. Breakfast is plenty but the variety of cheese (in the Netherlands!), yoghurt and cold cuts is poor.
Bergse Bossen is a nice and clean hotel with friendly staff. It's close to Utrecht so you can easily avoid traffic jams. WiFi inside the hotel is good. However on the terrace theire's no wireless internet connection possible.
Very clean rooms, pleasant staff, nice rural location, good Wi-Fi Duvet cover way too thin. Very disturbed sleep and was awakened many timess through cold (it was only September). No ability to regulate temperature in room.
Nice quiet location near wooded area Hotel did not have any tea making facilities in room
Quite location, non-smoking rooms only. Only very small "finding": restaurant offers buffet dinner only (but a very good one, for 24,80 Euro).
The staff was wonderful and the bungalow we stayed in was very clean. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices including cold cuts, eggs, cereal, yogurt, and many types of bread. We had the buffet dinner one night during our stay, and it was also very good. If you want to hike or bike, this is a great place. There is nothing that we did not like, but be advised that the hotel is about an hour from Amsterdam. We chose it because we also wanted to visit the Kröller-Müller Museum in the Hoge Veluwe National Park in Otterlo. The hotel is only about a 20 minute drive to this museum.
close to the woods & all on one level The restaurant closed at 8pm
no information that the hotel is only accessable via a 5km detour due to road works
Quietness, but still good location. Evening buffet very good if not so cheap. Hairdryer not in room, can ask at reception though. Evening buffet finishes early.
Perfect location: 5 minutes walk to the Central Station and large shopping center. Room are clean and very good breakfast Walls are to thin: one can always hear whats happening in the neighbour room. In addition it was not possible to fully close the balcony door so there were always a bit of cold wind on the floor from the balcony and noise from the street. And it would be great to add small refrigerator to the room
Computer provided with free web use in lounge
Very friendly and helpful staff. A very clean and modern hotel close to the station and central to the shops, canals and the centre of Utrecht. Late honesty bar and coffee facilities just put the finishing touches to the hotel...Fab! Nothing, really lovely hotel.
Nothing. This is a very poor value for money hotel. Bed and Bathroom were basic, facilities below average. Best comparison is that this is similar to a Travelodge but far more expensive. Bed, Bathroom, Towels, .......
Close from shopping center and city center no parking, difficult to find it
Spacious single room Expensive breakfast
The Hotel was spotless and in the perfect location. The breakfast was outstanding every day as well. Nothing
The room was good, probably just refurbished.
The hotel was very close to the central train station which was handy. The rooms are small but covers everything you would need. but the only problem was the wifi. On the website it says free wifi is available but the connection is not stable and keeps disconnecting. There are also personal hotspots available for each room for which you would need to pay (5 euros/day). Other than that in general it was ok.
Close to downtown No parking in hotel
Nice large room with good equipments, very clean, very good breakfast. Never accept the room #603 again: this room is just next to the hotel's waterworks, Thus, the noise of drainage is constant, all day long and all night long.
Good room. Good Breakfast. Helpful Staff
The hotel didn't impress me particularly but it was nice, clean and the stuff was helpful
the room. balcony and view in a quiet setting no kettle in the room which would have been very useful for an early morning and late cup of tea
Excellent service, setting and facilities!
Friendly staff at reception. Quiet, clean, comfortable.
The room we had was a good size (twin deluxe) and the continental buffet breakfast was very good. It seemed to be more of a business hotel than a family hotel but they were very nice about the children. The cost of doing laundry was excessive, and it was annoying to have to pay extra for regular tv programs.
Lovely atmosphere, very quiet, rear rooms overlooked cultivated park like land, friendly efficient staff
Decor was perfect. Staff was very helpful. Computer access was fast and available. Space was great. Loved the bathrooms.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The situation. being in the old part of the city I would suggest the buffett breakfast offered dishes of fruit salad, apricots and prunes. Handling cut grapefruit was not easy. But we had a lovely time.
The staff is nice and helpful. The room is quite clean. The room is very small.
Nice staff, free WLAN, clean room I would prefer breakfast buffet
Excellent location with a lot of parking possibilities in the direct neighbourhood. Nice street and a nice choice of restaurants in close by. Entrance looks a bit dated and worn. Difficult navigation in the hotel when equipped with luggage.
Close to the centre, nice staff, basic but good rooms
Easy access from the bus stop
Very friendly and welcoming manager and staff. On arrival, was shown a different small room (11) on first floor, on account of the heavy case I had and the very steep Dutch style stairs, no lift! Outside breakfast time, there was free hot drinks 24/7, + free dutch cake - free apples as well. The room was spotless, bed comfortable, TV got BBC London service. Working radio in room. No phone in room. Plenty of power points and free wi-fi on unsecured network. Central heating worked well. Breakfast was very good value, well stocked buffet , meats + boiled eggs. 15 minute walk into old town quiet street, hotel located in garden district , just off bus stop (5 routes) into old town and central station/shopping area. Close by to main musuems. Be aware the room was very small, approx 8 sq metres! with 2 single beds, a desk, wardrobe, one single chair under desk and an easy chair as well, floor space to walk in very limited! so I wouldn't want to use it for more than 2 or 3 nights as a single. Ensuite was minute, but worked for an average size person. Could have done with a few hooks and a toilet bag sized ledge in the ensuite, a shower soap tray would have been useful for those with only 2 hands! no toilet brush!
Good breakfast Stairs
The staff were very welcoming, polite and helpful. The rooms were nice, basic and most importantly clean. Its about a 10-15min walk to the City Train Station. We really enjoyed our stay there and will book there again if we ever go to Utretcht again
in a nice area usual Dutch stairs, very small room and even smaller bathroom
Excellent internet wi-fi, and free! Good desk to work at. Good shower with effective controls. Good breakfast selection. Friendly staff. Compact no-nonsense room. Room was chilly - until I realised the window was open and radiator off! Thereafter no problems.
We felt very comfortable and welcome at the Hotel, with friendly staff. We were able to bring one Dutch friend for a pleasant, relaxed evening meal and two other friends for coffee. Very comfortable room, but air-conditioning set at minimum of 20C, was a little too hot for us Celts!
Good beds, clean room, parking, great breakfast.
Liked nothing best The hotel is not 4 star - it is a rather poor 3 star quality hotel with many run-down features at a more than average 4 star price while parking is not free and an expensive internet connection. Does the Netherlands have an hotel grading authority??? They clearly slipped up on this hotel
The room was very nice. The food in the restaurant was fair. High price for a little piece of grilled salmon with pommes frites and 2 slices of tomato and cucumber. Almost € 19. Very small glasses of wine.
All the staff were very helpful and courteous at all times. The Hotel had great facilities and price was good.
Excellent breakfast with buffet and hot freshly prepared waffles, pancakes and eggs.
Lovely architecture and position... I really think internet wifi should be free in business hotles like this.
beautiful setting,on a lake and yet within a 20min. easy walk from centre. The hotel had excellent facilities.Food was great quality, wish we could have stayed longer.
Ease of check-in and room facilities. Hotel should inform beforehand that there is a charge for parking.
park setting, terraces on lake lack of air conditioning
Magnificent countryside, ideal for walks and cycling It was distant from the inhabited areas
We stayed at the Oud London many years before at the start of a military tour in Holland. The hotel has expanded greatly since our last stay, all for the good. The main restaurant was still the same outstandingly excellence. Wonderful food, superb impeccable service! The room was spacious, clean and the staff most friendly. We were in the area attending a reunion of military members who had served in the area in years past. A most wonderful experience! This is a great hotel from which to enjoy the wooded area of central Holland.
Friendly and polite service and helpfulness of all staff
living in the States for quite some time now, this is one of the first nice hotels in the Netherlands that are not crampy and where you have enough space in your room: excellent!
