Friendly staff,. Good breakfast.
Very poor beer (in the home town of brewing its a disgrace). Hotel a little tired and could do with an update.
The room was very nice , overlooking the garden.
Reception area and stairs were rather shabby. No lift! Bathroom was very tight, it looked as though a corner bath had been installed making it that the toilet came right up to the side of the bath, if a standard bath had been installed it would have been better.
Asked reception to book a taxi when we arrived for an hour after we arrived we were going to a wedding they forgot to book ! Toilet didn’t flush in room , not enough tables in the dining room , no breakfast at 9.30am when breakfast was open until 10.00am a shocking waste of money for what should of been a special occasion
Breakfast was very good, and the hotel is in a lovely old building with many period features.
The rooms (at least the one we were in) was a little tired and in need of refurbishment, and unfortunately the shower refused to run any hot water no matter how the taps were turned.
Staff and food
Room so noisy from 50th anniversary on Friday and wedding on Saturday next to no sleep. Room right above party and bed shook with noise.
