we have booked hotel Iberostar Cala Barca base on good price and the Family oriented atmosphere, the hotel was what we expected. Hotel renovated, good mini club 2 h in the morning and 2 in pm, the staff in mini club speak french, spanish, russian, german etc so a lot of nationalities are catered for (couple french kids there at a time) prepare to pay 5 euros for certain activities like pony riding, food quite good for the price, nice view from the cala and chairs available near tennis courts to relax by with sea view, very good price for all inclusive, activites like horse riding near by for 15 euros and rental of kayaks etc quite crowded in August, especially at meal times, so don't prepare for romantic atmosphere lol, tennis rackets rental is 5 eur eachtime, the beach is quite small and crowded, but other nicer beaches near by 10_15 min walk, I would recommend this hotel if your are travelling with children and want to have a nice 4 star room, ok food and go to the beach and do sports like horse riding, kayaking etc
Great offering of sporting activities, location. Croweded breakfast room.
This was our second time at this resort ,food excellent, pool was great, very clean and the apartments are great .downside the evening entertaiment was not great but overall a great hotel would return again family group with 8year old and two teenage girls who did not want to come home No
the food and drink was excellent.swimming pools and the beach some of the people staying seemed very rude and not very friendly.
The hotel as an excellent location on a Calla Beach, staff very friendly, great sports facilities. It is a great choice for families with children. The timing of meals including dinner are thought in the German tourists. It is unacceptable that the dinner ends at 21:30 local time. Reactively housing for a 4-star hotel, including the bath house should be more spacious and modern. There should also be in the family rooms in addition to the television in the living room a bedroom TV.
Quiet, romantic hotel - rooms are basic but very spacious and nice. Beautiful hotel & surrounding, nice pool area with stunning view. We would go back straight away!
Beutiful view from pool and restaurant, very nice garden, very tidy and clean. Nice food. They spoke better german than English but we managed witout problem.
the location was excellent everyone was very helpful i would hightly recommend Es Turo for a relaxing break with easy access to beautiful beaches
We liked many aspects but especially the spacious site of the hotel and the fascinating garden We found it a bit difficult to know exactly where the hotel was, as we were travelling westwards from Es Lombards (no visible signposts, in contrast to travelling along the road from Ses Salines )
I a wonderful retreat to rest, wine and dine. the village also houses two of my favorite restaurants on the island at 1min walking from the hotel
Hotel just restored and very nice. Garden and swimming pool. Room cleaning. Bike rental. Good breakfast. Staff absolutely incompetent. Receptionists unfriendly and rude, they don't speak english, just german. Waiters are slow and I had to ask many times to get something. Beware room 201: no window in the bed room!! And small small closet. In the night beetween 29th and 30th of Aug there was a party with loud music in the city until 4.30 in the morning and we couldn't sleep!!! The staff didn't advise about this and they didn't give us a discount for that. absurd. The bath is opened: very easy to wet the floor,no toilet brush (why??), no soap changing in 7 days! I thought it was a 4 stars hotel. In the end good structure but dreadful service
People working there are lovely; the hotel is a completely renewed old big house, with wonderful furniure in the common areas, a very nice garden and a swimming pool with a view on the church of the small village. There is a private parking (without charges) for the cars. Breakfast is delicious, with savoury and sweet food, and a lot of fruit. The beach "es trenc" (8 km far from the hotel) is gorgeous. In the room you can even prepare a cup of coffee or of tee with a kattle. A couple of details should be improved: for example, in the lovely shower cabin there are no shelves to put the Shampoo; there is no possibility to indicate taht you do not want to be disturbed in your room or that you want it to be cleand; you have to ask the reception for all the information you need instead of receiving in your room a folder with information about the beaches, the restaurants and the tourist attractions of the region. It's better to avoid having breakfast at the same time as groups that might spent a couple of day in the hotel for a professional course.
A beautiful setting luxurious and very peaceful. The rooms were lovely and really appreciated the air conditioning
great effort, excellent service
A new hotel with friendly staff and a nice balance of the old traditional buildings merged with new facilties and comtemporary styling. In an unspoilt part of the island.
Breakfast excellent.Very beautiful premises and grounds. Waiters, cleaning staff and night porter all very helpful. Secure parking. Overall reasonably good value. Almost a complete shut down after midnight, no real bar as such. In general staff had poor english and we felt the hotel was geared more for the continental europeans with little consideration towards english speaking guests. Bedroom could do with a decent mirror for the vain amongst us.Toiletries were a little scarce and we had to ask for same more than once. No instruction booklet of any description in the bedroom regarding hotel facilities, locality not even information on "How to use the internal phone". All little things that could easily be rectified.
The room was super and the pool is great. The village location. Staff only speak german and are unable to understand requests for service in English. Hotel is not for British as completely a German clientel.
Fantastic atmosphere and the hospitality as well as the facilities. All are superb.
The finca Sa Carrotja is set on beautifully gardened grounds in the sleepy but imminently accessible Ses Salines. It's advisable you have your own car to get there as the town is off the beaten path somewhat but it's very easy to get to ~30minutes from the airport. They have free bikes and it's an easy 15 minute ride to the beaches around Colonia Saint Jordi. The clientele are mostly German but everyone is very friendly. A great place to go to get away from all the crowds of Mallorca yet be close to some of the most beautiful beaches on the whole island.
peace and quiet
View from room.Location to beach.. Reception staff eventually very helpful. Breakfast choice poor. Bed very uncomfortabl. Room bare minimum of cleaning
The hotel staff were very friendly and the view was wonderful - location is superb, so close to the beach.
A cosy friendly hotel with great views away from the most busy turist ghettos. I really recommend chosing a room with sea view. It's all the money worth.
Great location, very helpful and friendly staff.
Sea view was amazing. Be sure to take it - it's quiet and faces towards north-east = great sunshine in the morning & no heat in the evening. Nice terrace. We didn't have any food included but supermarket is less than 100 meters away. Pool opening hours are relatively short (which is pity when you're back from day trip and want to have a nice dive afterward). Rather expensive meals (so we took only accommodation).
Location and facilities-- The swimming pools were a delight. The food could have been presented and supervised in a better manner
The hotel has one of the best locations on the Med as is as good as a three star hotel as you can get.
beautifull view to the beach, at least in some rooms
Very helpful and nice reception staff. Bike rental can be arranged through the hotel - nice bikes, reasonable price. It's in a lovely and non touristy spot, thankfully no discos, just a tapas bar in front of the reception and a couple of places where to eat on the beach. Neighbors can be noisy (luckily ours weren't), and walls are a bit thin. The hotel entertainment could be heard from our room but it was a nice blues band and ended at 11 pm only on one of the nights, which is very reasonable. Wireless is not free, and it's a bit pricey (4 EUR/hour).
It was fine generally. There was nothing we did not like, but our room was situated at the bottom floor and was in shade all the time. Also, the hotel was about 95% occupied by Germans and seemed to be a hotel catering mainly for Germans. Not a problem overall but we would have preferred a hotel with more British guests.
