we were only there for a very short night stay, so can not realistically comment.
Everything it was wonderful could not fault it.
The setting was beautiful and I really liked the gym. The staff were all very friendly and the room was comfortable and well-designed. Thought it was very cheeky that you added £24 for breakfast that I didn't eat be 'default'. The reason I specifically took a room without breakfast is because I was going out for a meal with family nearby. Also it was very hard to reach reception by telephone - once I waited a full ten minutes.
The hotel & rooms were beautiful. The pool was nice & clean. The location was lovely. I was not able to benefit fully from the use of the pool with my children due to time restrictions. I did not find the staff easy to talk to. The childrens menu for my stay was not available. I had a leaking tap in my room. I did not think paying an extra £40 for the tea/coffee & toiletries package was worthwhile.
Helpfulness and friendliness of staff of the staff I did not like the way the gentleman in the restaurant (we assumed the manager) barged in front of me to reprimand the duty hostess. We had observed her for at least 30 minutes and had commented to each other on the excellent job she was doing as the restaurant was becoming busier. Disappointed the cleaner was in our room as we returned from breakfast.
Nice new stylish rooms, decent food Noise on Saturday night until 1am - avoid staying on Saturdays due to wedding receptions.
the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was beautiful. The room was comfortable and well appointed. Another option for dining would be nice as well as a place to get snacks after hours.
Staff were enthusiastic to help make our stay enjoyable New Hotel with a few teething problems, when all problems sorted out, this is a good hotel and I will definitely return The large ugly picture of a cow on bedroom wall (we covered this with a large bath towel) The safe was not secured to the wall (I could have carried this under my arm) For those that like bathroom privacy, the bathroom window into the bedroom may not be your thing Small wardrobe space to hang clothes for two people
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was up market & stylish. You could have walked about in designer, formal or leisure wear and no-one would have batted an eye. 100% for cleanliness. The food was excellent and catered for all tastes.
Absolutely everything, the hotel staff were friendly, helpful, polite. The hotel itself is fantastic, the stay not long enough!!
I stayed 2 nights with my girlfriend. The St Pierre is a beautiful place in a wonderful setting. The decoration is an original blend of tradition and modern design. We really enjoyed our stay there and plan to come back. No complaints
Very good helpful staff, great location and beautiful grounds, very good food in the restaurant as well..
Excellent standard of accomodation together with superb customer service
Peaceful hotel with good staff Not told about restaurant being closed, bistro food poor so dined out for rest of stay. Heating control in room not working
Lovely surroundings and entrance Room very small for 2 people - could not be ventilated as french doors. Shower poor. Room service breakfast poor - No plates for the toast. No rolls or marmalade. Only 1 butter and 1 flora pack on the tray. Very poor value at £14.95 each.
The setting of the Hotel was lovely. Rooms were great and staff very helpful.
Reception staff - excellent. None.
lovely hotel and setting not a good nights sleep ,i did complain but nothing done about it ,stayed in tulip room great but floorboards above never stopped moving, sorry to complain otherwise great
The stgaff on arrival were extremely polite, helpful and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable. Our stay was short but very relaxing. Comments re breakfast as in question 1
It was close to the town centre. the t.v didnt work. The shower didnt work so was not able to have one before going to work in the morning. The hotel bar finished at 9.30. The hotel had no record of my reservation with bookings.com,was told i should have called them as i booked it on same day as i was staying to confirm, never had to do this before with any other booking made with bookings.com. Waitress in the morning needs to learn how to smile.
Staff - both reception & chef - were excellent & helpful
The location was perfect for the events we had planned. I would think other people might also find it attractive both for its own immediate surroundings and for touring the wider environs. The cleanliness and decor of the room detracted from what was on the whole a generally well-presented service. That the one member of staff responsible for the upkeep of the room should let down the efforts made by others was disappointing. However, I would not prevent this one issue from recommending the hotel to anyone looking for accomodation in the area.
The food selection, presentation and service. Helpful staff No
Friendly, helpful staff
friendly staff and excellent food in a lovely hotel. the new owners have made a great start.
Very friendly staff, good food, general common areas very comfortable Plumbing (banging in the pipes) the room kept me awake.
relaxed friendly atmosphere
The staff are very friendly and the location is superb - right opposite Chepstow Castle. The room (cottage suite) was a good size and very clean.
friendliness of staff, food prices very reasonable
free broadband internet the shower was very poor
The room was clean and comfortable, the food was excellent (superb value for money);the staff were helpful; convenient location for exploring a beautiful area. Some traffic noise.
Friendly and quiet
very convenient for a wedding at Tintern church on a busy main road
The staff, room and food were all very good. The hotel is located ideally for those that like walking etc. Nothing.
Small hotel friendly staff good food and very good value.
Friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast and location. great parking
Comfort of rooms, excellent hotel food, friendly and helpful co-owners, ease of access to local sites of interest and enjoyable walks
The staff at the hotel were very helpful. The food was delicious and used many local ingredients, freshly cooked. The breakfast was one of the best I have had in any hotel.
Friendly Management & Staff
ease of access around the town
Overall friendliness and willingness to help. None.
friendly staff, proximity to castle and other points of interest, pub was good the shower
Central location, and value for money Car parking limited, but adequate for rooms in hotel
It was close to all the local amenties.
Being in the centra of town for the bike rally The room was very dated, carpets on the stairs were worn
Hoging the bridge
The welcome was good. There was an initial problem re the booking - 2 males who'd requested a twin room being given a double room - which was promptly resolved. Not something I would have thought about, but there was no raised eyebrow etc about the initial booking arrangement. Breakfast excellent, prompt pleasant service. Good location. The beds were hard and a little uncomfortable - but did not interfere with my sleep. Location quiet, no disco noise etc.. If you want a touring base with good central location and functional facilities - fine place to stay.
food was excellent service good hotel staff freindly no water for hot bath shower poor
Staff were friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Food was excellent and the 7am start for breakfast is great for business people but... ... there was no internet in my room and I was informed by reception that it did not reach my room. It does not state on booking.com that internet is only availabe in some rooms so I feel as if I have been conned as my main reason for booking was the internet conection so I could complete and upload my reports from my room. Quite expensive for what it is. Breakfast should be included in the price.
