    Poppies Hotel and Restaurant is situated about 4 minutes from Callender the self-proclaimed capital of Trossachs also known around the world as the Gate to the Highlands. The centre with plenty of shops as well as restaurants and bars are within walking distance only 300 metres away as is the closest bus stop. The closest train station can be reached in about 20 minutes by car. The hotel also offers the breathtaking backdrop of the Callender Crags. Built in 1874 and renovated in 2005 this charming 2-storey family-friendly hotel has a total of 9 rooms including 2 suites. Situated on a main road guests at this hotel are offered a foyer with a 24-hour reception a hotels safe and a cloakroom. Further facilities include a cosy bar a breakfast room a WLAN access point and an up-market restaurant. It is also possible to take advantage of the room and laundry service. There is a bicycle storage room and parking spaces are on offer for those arriving by car. The rooms all come with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. Fishing permits may be obtained for the Teith and Ley River and Loch fishing may also be enjoyed. A whole range of activities may be enjoyed in this area. A wide network of cycling paths also exists in the region. Guests may serve themselves at the breakfast buffet. At lunchtime and in the evenings guests may select dishes from the set menu or choose from the à la carte option. Special dietary requirements may be catered for.
