Beautifully restored, lovely rooms and bathroom facilities, you easily feel like they are sharing their home with you but without being intrusive in the least. They will help guide you in a pinch- very important to a single female traveler. They turned me on to a local guide to help explore the Trossachs area. I will recommend them to everyone I know!
Pros: Lorraine&Derek are exactly the kind of personable, kind people who will help out and make recommendations for you that make sense. They even picked me up at the rail station since I got into Stirling as Derek was coming back home from town.
Cons: not a thing ;)

I made reservations there because there was supposed to be a bagpiper to wake you for breakfast and I thought my husband would like that. As it turned out, the owner is the bagpiper, and his son was getting married and he was out of town, so there was no bagpiper. It was understandable that he would be away for his son's wedding and the guy who took his place was very nice and helpful, but I think the bagpipe was the thing that drew me in to make the reservation. Oh well.
Pros: We liked the couple who were filling in for the owner. Duncan was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast had a good selection and the dining room was nice enough.
Cons: Had to park from a distance, and had to lug it up 3 floors. Bathroom was outside of our room. Sink in our room didn't work.
