What are the pros of staying at Solara Resort?
Good location. Nice size rooms. Good parking. Complimentary parks pass. I really like everything about the Solara we love staying here staff are wonderful and just such a great place to stay. size of the rooms was generous. Soundproofing was excellent. beautiful space, well maintained and quiet. Quiet. Nice balcony. Beautiful suite. The fireplaces were pretty - but don’t put out heat. Apartments are amazing. Convenient coffee shop in the property. We don't have time to cook, yet the equipments is good. Very comfortable and the rooms are well equipped. Pretty nice place. great condo and location, secure parking. Size of unit and baths were nice. spacious, well appointed condo within walking distance to the Center of town. This hotel is located walking distance from Canmore town centre (about 10 minutes walk and you can go different ways) or you can catch a free bus in. The area is extremely clean and safe and surrounded by wild bunnies! The property is really nice and is almost like a home from home. We were upgraded to a two bed lodge due to their bookings - which meant we pretty much had our own apartment space. The rooms are extremely well equipped - with BBQ and all the tools you need in the kitchen. Our bathroom was amazing! The staff are friendly. The resort is quiet (it has allocated quiet times!). If you want to be in the centre of Canmore then this is not ideal for you but if you want to really get stuck into the feeling of Canadian life then stay here! You’re only 5 mins walk from the new Canmore shop area which has cafes, bars and the bus stop to get into Banff. We used the bus to get into Banff which is very reliable and cheap! Gorgeous suits, good location. Roomy suite with kitchen and laundry. We made our own breakfast and lunches in our the kitchen which saved us money. The suite was big enough for one couple and two single adults with no complaints from the person who slept on the sofa bed. The shower was nice with rain head, handheld, and side jet options. It was a short walk from the town core. The view of the mountains was very nice. Great location. Much nicer than staying at a hotel. Excellent view and convenient to other restaurants. Enjoyed the AC and beds were comfortable. great condo and location, secure parking. Size of unit and baths were nice. spacious, well appointed condo within walking distance to the Center of town. The accessibility, the mountain view. Location was good. Unit very spacious and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the staff was understanding of our disapprovals. amazing. Location is great for what we're looking for, we like the short walk to Main Street. Heated, secured underground parking is nice. Front desk staff was pleasant, competent and helpful. Kitchen was well stocked, the electric BBQ grill was good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The view was beautiful, It was easy to get to. Off street parking was wonderful. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. clean and a very nice suite. location, front lobby was nice, staff friendly, suite was well stocked. nice unit, quiet and well stocked. It was quite, convenient and very clean. Staff on site were great and helpful.
What are the cons of staying at Solara Resort?
The 3 days of constant renovations in the apartment next door from 8am to 8pm which meant we could not enjoy our room in the day and was a challenge to get the kids to bed with the constant drilling/ demolition. Staff said quiet time was at 10pm and nothing they could do. Unacceptable that a resort does not have strata rules on construction noise when they are paying guests next door. the maze of getting around. the pool location. in need of a major update, halls were dim and carpet was very grungy looking.. pool area needs a huge facelift, crack in the bath tub in our room and blinds were all damaged and mangled… elevator could use replacing.. was very shaky and rickety… kids were looking forward to the movie theatre which was closed. hopefully next time we book it will be open!! Room was dirty. Bugs & dust in windowsills. Ice bucket was disgusting. Beds were not comfortable. Could never get an answer when calling front desk. Needs a restaurant. Had to drive to get any meals. Had to ask 5 times for bedding. Sofa bed was not equipped with bedding! Bathroom ensuite sink was plugged even after “repaired”. Suite is not large. Swimming pool is small. our fridge door in the unit had no door handle, and the dishwasher was out of service. It is quite out dated, but it's a good value for money. A touch expensive . I wish breakfast was included with the price. Also I haven’t received my bill by email. Drain in the bath tub didn’t work, water faucet leaked all over the counter whenever used, there was an old panty liner in the washing machine and the towels felt a bit like thin sandpaper. Booked for our wedding night and was told they would gift us champagne and balloons. Nothing in the apartment. Asked for late check-out and late check out was 11am. No cups or mugs in the cupboard, was all still in the dishwasher. Dirty dated carpet/chairs in the apartment, dark dusty corridors in the hotel and parking, squicky almost failing elevator, pool and hot tub are not attractive at all, top shower is weak, early check out, noisy AC, TV channels, room pictures are misleading, safe is not working. It is time to renovate it. very late check in and finding building Aurora access to pool and bike rental was nearly impossible. The hot tub is good but there was no guidance how to activate the jets. We accessed the complimentary bike hire but they are literally an array of bikes they have collected over the time and it’s hit or miss to get one suitable for you. The amenities weren’t complete: no plates, water glasses, utensils and coffee filter. Air conditioning did not work, sofa bed was broken and not usable, pool and pool deck were so disgusting that we decided not to use them, lights in dining room were not working and a bathroom door did not close. Living room wasn’t comfortable due to the furniture being extremely used looking cracked leather. furniture was very worn in the living room, the sofa and chairs had peeling fabric. Earlier check in later check out. elevator didn’t work. the furniture, couch was very uncomfortable. the lighting in the bathroom was poor. poor ventilation in the bathroom. The mens bathroom before entering the hot tub was a little dirty and the floor drain was clogged causing dirty water to pool. Kinda gross. Didn’t get the view I wanted for the price. I didn't like the check in or the check out times. Checking in at 5 pm was not ideal. By the time I got to my room and then tried to figure out something for supper my night was gone. Then checking out didn't give much time to enjoy the morning in my room. It was get up and leave. I understand COVID has made things more trying but I don't feel like my room was any cleaner than before COVID. I was then expected to load the dishwasher so I don't feel like to received the value for what I paid for the room. a bit run down, elevator dirty, rooms could use update. The room should have been cleaned, sanitized, the bedding was stained , 5he face cloths looked ragged and old with stains also the top floor should not have kids that run.
