We spent a long weekend in Napa and had never stayed at the Bardessono before but due to the Good Buy and the online rating we gave it a try. It was one of the best decisions of the weekend. Being in Yountville is the only way to experience the wine country with the numerous wineries within 20 minutes (don't miss the Rombauerof Silver Oak tasting rooms) and some of the best dining in Northern California within 10 minutes. The rooms in the hotel are outstanding and the layout makes it so that you feel like you could be the only one there. The atmosphere is wonderfully serene and the common areas are well laid out. The bar wait staff were outstanding in their knowledge and their friendliness. Thanks to the management of the hotel for the traiing and oversight they obviously (but discreetly) provide. Just one negative - change the uniforms of the staff to lose the blousy pants.
The service. From the valet to the bar to the restaurants the concierge booked us a reservation for, they made it a point to wish us a happy anniversary. Nice touch. The Lucy restaurant on site was a little slow with their service. Especially in the morning. Didn't really keep up with the rest of the hotel.
It is not too hard to have a great wine country experience especially when one checks out a number of wine tasting sessions at some of the great vienyards of the world. However, when one adds to it a fabulous eco resort experience in clerly a five star venue, your trip is enhanced beyond expectations. The rooms and amenities were amazing and the staff was all about taking care of the needs of their guests.
It was a beautiful room, on beautiful grounds. We stayed there for one night while visiting Napa with friends. My only complaint is that we spent so much time wine tasting and having dinner with our friends that we hardly got to enjoy the room! Will definitely stay there again but next time, we will plan on TWO nights!
Great location. Wonderfully landscaped. Nice ammenities.
My wife and I are young and the bed was so incomparable we ended up sleeping on the floor. When the room heater turns on, the furniture and pictures of the the room shake. One of the worst nights of sleep in years. And expensive.
Accomodations, service, quality, breakfast all outstanding!
The grounds and pool were beautiful
Everyone is nice, the accommodations are great! The internet was not the best.
Wonderful daily champagne breakfast buffet We loved the made-to-order omelettes! Great Location Beautiful, luxurious rooms Welcome bottle of wine Everything was wonderful, and we couldn't ask for more
Quiet and tranquil setting on in a small golf course community Dated décor. The TV was from the 1980's.
The grounds/golf course is really nice. For the premium price, the facilities look a little tired. It needs a serious upgrade. The two bedroom suites are not even a part of the resort. You have to drive out of the property to get there.
Staff was great, room great, and activities were nice. Would recommend to all, but can't say enough about the staff... Nothing had a great trip
Loved the property/ the grounds. Very beautiful. Staff was terrible. Service was terrible. Room was very small.
We had visited Silverado about 35 years ago. I don't think they changed the carpet or the decor in all those years. Everything looked old and shoddy. It definitely is not the luxury resort which we remembered, and as such is way overpriced. Their computer system must be very old as it took almost 30 minutes for us top check out while they were awaiting our breakfast bill. Although the staff was friendly, they did not seem well trained. Overall, it was a disappointment.
Check in went smoothly, the staff were friendly. They were able to accommodate an early check in and a late check out which was exactly what we needed for our stay for a friend's wedding. Loved the clean white smooth bed sheets. And the shower is amazing! The walls are thin. We woke up few times early in the morning. We could hear the couple talking, opening closing drawers, and opening plastic wraps. The refrigerator and a/c are a bit noisy... the little light from the a/c is also pretty bright too.
Great bees and nice rooms. The location was far away. The pool was closed but was advertised as open. I think it should be heated to provide more activities.
I liked the layout and it was clean with a comfortable bed. The parking at the timeshares, very small spaces especially when you are next to the bushes.
Convenience to the city and the wineries
Location and staff The facility needs significant upgrade. Felt like it's a condo in 1990.
The property and grounds are beautiful Our room was tiny and uncomfortable. No place to sit except the bed or a stiff slipper chair. Somewhat dated decor. The door to the bathroom didn't open completely because it hit the toilet. Once in the bathroom almost impossible to turn around. Overall we were very disappointed. This was not worth $300+ per night.
Alexis at the front desk was absolutely wonderful!!!!!! I had the best trip I've had in years. It was breathtaking and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend the silverado to anyone that wants to have a truly great time in napa! Nothing
Very comfortable beds - good buffet breakfast It was close to a main road which was very busy on Sunday
I was lucky as they bumped me to a suite. However, for the price, theare are better values in the valley. This is really a higher level motel. Terrible breakfast.
We could walk to shopping and restaurants. It was well located in the Napa Valley. Noise from the freeway. The layout of the property is a bit awkward.
I thought the breakfaast arrangements were poor, the selection limited, the coffee cold!! Aslo my reservation through bookings.com has not been received by the hotel and there was difficulty accomodating me.
Pros: Champagne when you arrive Great staff very helpful and nice Great breakfast, with mimosas included in the room cost. Great hot tub and pool and open till 11pm so open to take a quick hot tub dip before retiring for the night. View of the vineyards from our room. Everyone at the hotel including guests was friendly and fun, it had a nice vibe. Rooms were not wow. Maybe I have been to Vegas too many times and I am spoiled but the rooms were just average. Nothing was bad, the bathroom was a little small, but had a nice stone upgrade, but the room was very beige and a little bland, but it was still nice. It was better than a best western but at least the room we had was not interesting. For $300 a night we did not have a bathtub and the room seemed empty like some furniture was missing. Decorations are very beige. The hotel itself and experience was better than the room.
Location, breakfast, room with balcony and fireplace. Walls paper thin. We heard everything from above and through adjoining door.
The staff was extremely accomodating and the room was very clean, which is always a big thing for me!
The location is ideal and convenient. The breakfast was not good. Food quality was not good. Chairs on deck were dirty and almost rust stained. You couldn't sit on them.
The location was great. The room was spacious and clean. Lacked ammenities we are used to having i.e. dining, bar, etc. but other places were accessible. Staff was nice but not overly helpful on minor items like directions, suggestions, etc. There was nothing that I didn't like other than the feeling of being at a motel. Not fond of the layout for a high dollar lodge - too much like a Motel 6 - a little noisy.
Great location. Huge, clean and comfortable rooms. Comp'd wine as was our honeymoon. Great dressing gowns, v. comfy. Pool is excellent.
the hotel provides a convenient location in the vine region of the Napa-Valley. We also enjoyed being in the pool area.
The staff were very helpful with checking in/out, making dinner reservations and winery suggestions. They also brought us a bottle of champagne for our anniversary and upgraded our room! The included breakfast was fabulous and the room was totally luxurious.
The hotel itself is a small scenic place set a lot like a small town feel. There are a small number of rooms that all face inward to an open pedestrian area that leads to the reception area and Redd Wood (the restaurant connected to the hotel). The amenities of the room were great and most of the folks on the grounds were very helpful in insuring our stay went very well. The spa was also very nice if you are looking to relax. The concierge could have used a little help. The first issue I had was that I was suppose to have a food and wine pairing at one of the vineyards and upon arrival found out that it was no longer available. I am not entirely sure if that was the fault of the vineyard or the concierge but there wasn't much effort in trying to get that rescheduled until I asked. The next issue was the names which were provided to the vineyard for me and my wife were incorrect which made for awkwardness upon the arrival at our vineyard tours. Lastly, I was trying to add a visit later in the trip and during my conversation with the concierge I was told that I may not have time to make the visits I wanted but after discussing I said I wanted to go ahead because we move pretty quickly between visits (not lingering around). Based on my request I basically had to again TELL the concierge to try to make the reservation against the advice given not to. In the end just need to confirm details and ultimately give the customer what they want. While this is a long write up it would not deter me from staying at North Block! I will plan to stay there again in the future.
Beautiful rooms. Excellent flowing shower and full tub in the room. Close to shopping and restaurants.
location and cleanliness
The location is perfect. The room and bath were well designed, the staff was very helpful. The $25.00 per night service charge seems high.
The hospitality and service. Our bags were immediately taken to our rooms upon arrival and we we're greeted with champagne. We asked for ice and it was at our door within a few minutes. The design of the room was beautiful and relaxing. Gorgeous bathroom, spacious closet, and the sweet treats that were left in our room each night added to the ambience. No complaints
Their own essential oil toiletries, heated floors, Spanish style courtyard, gorgeous restaurant, thoughtful details everywhere. See above.
The staff was very warm and took extra care to ensure a great stay. The rooms were super nice and heated bathroom floors were a nice touch.
Great location, nice hotel rooms, staff was very friendly and nice, especially our Front Desk Clerk, Celina, that was very helpful.
Room was clean and beautiful. Beds had feather beds, down comforter, down pillows. Beautiful marble bathroom had robes and and all amenities. Very generous with towels. Breakfast from wonderful bakery next door was included and they pour you a glass of wine on check-in. Rooms had coffee maker, and they deliver water and chocolate later in the day. Walking distance to all of downtown restaurants, etc. Free wifi & parking. It was just perfect. nothing! It couldn't have been a better experience
Went with wheelchair. Despite an old hotel, everything looked new, although maintaining the old fashion look, and barrier-free. Right restaurants on the block, right behind is the river with paved ramps and walkways, perfect for strolling in a wheelchair. Breakfast room service comes standard with the stay. Best wheelchair vacation.
The breakfast and manager's reception were a good value. Location is very convenient to the historical downtown, where the majority of the restaurants are located. It was a $6 uber ride most nights. The location is also very close to the highway, making it very easy to get to the wineries. They didn't vacuum the floors! On the second day, we found popcorn next to furniture that we hadn't used the first day, and we hasn't eaten any popcorn. If you want a king-size bed, you have to book direct. And be aware - they say they offer rooms with two queen-size beds, but they're actually full-size beds.
Beautiful Hotel!!! Breakfast was not well organized, i would rather pay for it instead
The free breakfast buffet was great. The managers happy hour every night was also very nice. The bed was decent The insulation between the floors is pretty poor. We could hear the people upstairs walking around. There was also some long-term stains on the towels that were in our room.
The facility was beautiful, much more than I expected. The cook to order breakfast was a bonus. Room appeared clean at first glance, but I dropped something between the couch and needed to move it. The floor had a layer of dirt and there was food, clothing and all sorts of other stuff. The pull out bed and extra blanket in the closet were both soiled.
This place needs to update its heat/cooling systems. The whole hotel has to be on either heat or cool in order to get your room where you want it temperature wise. I will not stay here again! The first room that we were given was like a dungeon, all slate floors and it was cold and dark, our second room had mold growth in the shower. Please read above. The free breakfast was great and the hotel looks great, outside
Location and included breakfast and happy hour. No individual AC units per room. Meaning the AC is the same temperature throughout the whole facility. Our room was a sauna and we had the worst sleep ever. We complained and were given a fan, but all that did was blow the hot air around.
Much nicer than any other Embassy Suites that we have stayed at. Sevice was great. We had booked two double beds and when they didn't have that available, they resolved it by giving us two rooms.
Great customer service, beautiful courtyard and loved the complimentary breakfast. Ceiling was a little thin, could hear upstairs guests stomping around at 6am.
Room and breakfast. We were on vacation with our young children and while the facilities were lovely we could not enjoy them as pretty much the entire hotel allowed smoking exciting for one small outdoor seating area that actually included a sign 'designated for non smokers'. It really put us off returning to this hotel.
Great place to stay! Stayed in a suite and the room was clean and large. Enjoyed the breakfast as well. Facilities were great, loved the pools and swans! Happy hour left something to be desired, but I can't complain about free alcohol and snacks. Parking was limited also but was never an issue
The decor was just charming with a sweet and creative mural. Liked the tv in a cabinet. The spa tub was such a relaxing treat. The location perfect. Enjoyed the guest book. Very well organized inn owners who provided plate, wine opener, wine glasses and knives. Just a lovely place and we can hardly wait for a return visit. Lucy's was an excellent recommendation for dining. What's not to like ??????
Lovely setting Room was nice, but not 4 star - aging furniture, bad fluorescent lights, Spa facilities are fantastic Slow check-in process -- front desk never called to tell us our room was ready despite taking down number Santé restaurant didn't live up to "michelin starred" reputation Room not as spacious as advertised
Too loud with Wine poll party with loud music till 10:30pm just OK
Was hesitant, as I chose based on stars and reviews alone - but this place was Amazing in every way. The grounds are beautiful, the staff was the kindest and warmest we've been greeted with in awhile and always ready to lend a helping or advising hand. The local town (square) was a beauty as well and while small, the stores, food and wine can keep you there all day. I'd highly recommend this place again and can not wait to come back!
Loved my upgraded room. Bed was awesome. Short drive from downtown Sonoma. Concierge emailed me a list of wineries and restaurants that was very helpful in planning our trip to wine country. Original room I booked was tiny. Upgraded for $75 more per night to a room half the size. Needs a bigger entrance sign. Immediate surrounding area looks questionable, but glen ellen and Sonoma were a short drive away
Staff was great and willing to help out whenever possible Car service was complimentary Wine evenings with complimentary wine tastings Hotel texting service Free waters when heading out, great when going out for wine tastings. Not well insulated rooms which made it very cold. Occasionally some barking Self Parking gets filled quickly in the evening but they offer complimentary valet
Loved the bed and pillows and the property Terrible cell reception. At these prices we shouldn't have to pay for internet, which is also terribly slow
Decent room. Spa was nice. Service was poor. Left an item in room that was gone 30 minutes later and no one at hotel responded to our calls or emails. Just poor customer service.
Friendly staff, well manicured grounds. Paper thin walls and floors, dirty room complete with hairs in bathtub and bathtub that did not drain, poor on-site parking, false advertising in photos on all major booking sites.
Nice room, great old building with solid walls (nice and quiet). Great facilities (spa and hotel pool were great). Great staff, from housekeeping to valet to spa staff. Had a great time and would stay again. Old building means no elevators or ramps, which made getting around with a baby stroller difficult. Didn't like that you had to pay for wifi, and although they had free wine tasting you had to pay for the snacks. When paying for a high-end experience it is a bummer to have to pay for things that would be easy and inexpensive to provide, like wifi and light snacks.
No elevator Only a few of the staff need more training in customer service, starting with those working at Spa
$15 internet charge ruined the stay. Would have paid higher room charge, but the extra charge was a hassle and made the place feel cheap. A bad business move.
The rooms are on the larger size The room was dark and dingy. Don't eat the breakfast! The food is horrid. We chose Best Western because of the reviews, don't do it. We wanted to enjoy the pool, but there were leaves floating on the pool and it was expensive.
Sauna by pool and hot tub was a nice touch, outdoor lounging space, convenient access to Sonoma square and town. Breakfast was mediocre continental.
I liked the close proximity to the downtown area and the free breakfast. the staff was extremely friendly and accomodating.
Bed was very comfortable Cute patio Pillows were very uncomfortable Room outdated - bath had chalk on top of chalk Toaster in the breakfast room needs to be replaced NOW. Waiting over 5 min for toast to pop up with a line behind you is NOT good.
This hotel is in a great location just around the corner from the Sonoma Square. We had a room that opened up to the pool, making my kids very happy. The room itself was spacious and clean, a good value. We will definitely stay there again. it was a fine hotel.
Location Old run down place.
location, services, full breakfast had a very difficult time adjusting room temperature at night. one side of bed much too cold other side much too hot. had to do with air circulation from air conditioner.
Location Affordable for area Clean Dingy Dated interiors Loud A/C Thermostat in awkward position
Location can't be beat. Super close to the plaza and across from a strip mall including a Whole Foods. Sloppy cleaning services, subpar breakfast, 15-min timer for bathroom light (can't take a longer shower without stepping out to turn on the light again!!) and general outdated-ness of the room with carpet that needs updating. Despite the great location I will not return, as there are more cons than pros here.
Staff very knowledgable and friendly Parking too expensive
Ambiance I was very taken back being next in line when the desk clerk asked how he could help a guest who waltzed up to the counter. I was waiting my turn & felt the person who was already staying there should not have precident over me who was next in line before them. Should I have to wait if every guest came down for something before the person in front of me was finished? If not, when should it be my turn? I would have walked out after being treated that way if I hadn't already purchased the room before arrival. Otherwise the stay was pleasant & quiet. I may return.
Close to the plaza so within walking distances for everything so very convenient. Loved their patio set up with fire pits and that we could walk out from our room. The floor above us must have had a family of kids bc we could hear them running and jumping early in the am and as we were getting ready for bed.
Staff was amazing, especially Mika (not sure on spelling). They were helpful, friendly, informative, and make us want to go back. nothing
The private patio area off of the room was wonderful to sit and relax. We picked the breakfast in bed option and enjoyed our meal outside. Wonderful location in easy walking distance of all that downtown has to offer.
This B&B was so comfy and charming. It was our first visit to the area and we wanted to make the most of our limited time. She gave us a nice map with all her favorite wineries and must-see places circled...it made for a magnificent whirlwind tour of the area! The only downside -- we were hoping to be able to walk to/from our hotel to the downtown restaurants. It is next to the Mustards Grill, which is great, we were just hoping for more options. If you don't mind the 5min drive, it is a great place to stay.
peaceful, calming, great location, an enchanted forest no
Airconditioning was welcome as it was very hot. Complimentary bottle of wine was good. The room was spacious and comfortable and very clean. Wifi worked well. Noise of traffic nearby as it is just off the A29.
The room, the amenities, and the staff were spectacular. I felt like I was staying in an enchanted forest. The grounds were georgeous.
Our room looked right out onto the vineyard and had a beautiful view. Everything was really comfortable and welcoming, from the bottle of wine waiting for us and free waters in the fridge, to the cozy fireplace, and delicious chocolates they left each night. The bed was very comfortable and room was spacious. We really enjoyed the Friday and Saturday night wine tastings and met many of the other guests staying at the hotel. The breakfast was delicious each day and provided yet another opportunity to mingle with the other guests. Everyone staying here was happy and friendly! We also enjoyed walking around the beautiful grounds. I can imagine that the rooms not directly facing the vineyard, toward the front of the property, could be a little bit dark due to the mature tall trees around the property.
The grounds and location were good.
Location was excellent. The rooms were above average and parking was ample when we were there Reception service was rude and inefficient. While entering into the check-in desk front desk staff did not properly greet guests. Front desk service was rude and was more fitting of a motel 6.
big comfortable rooms Found blood on a bed sheet and was located near the noisy road
Great service, clean room with spacious bathroom and excellent quality bed linens. Included breakfast was delicious. Convenient location to nearby wineries in St. Helena, some of which have tasting offers for travelers staying at Harvest Inn.
Location is amazing. It's a beautiful setting. Used to be much more charming. The A/C didn't work in the room. The hotel was at capacity so they couldn't move me to another room. Did bring me a fan, a very dirty fan. They left dirty linens outside the event center which was outside the area of 14-ish rooms where i was staying. Very unappealing.
The room was beautiful with nice decor. it was pretty specious with a king size bed and a pull out queen size sofa bed. The welcoming bottle of wine was great. The whole property was beautiful esp. with the winery facing hotel. Our only regret was no one came to clean up our room even when the "no disturb" sign was not hanging outside the door. One cannot turn on the shower while standing outside the bathtub. As a result, one has to go inside the tub, turn on the water and stay inside the tub to wait for the water to turn warm.
The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The location of our room was less than satisfactory. Much of the night their were noisey activities happening. We could hear the auction, music, dj, etc as if they were in our room with us.
Spa services were great Hotel was very full and room was "upgraded" to a suite. Was not told before getting into room, suite was over Crush night club. Woken up at 12, 1, and 3 a.m. by drunk people yelling and leaving club. Despite calling front desk, noise continued. View from patio was of the building across the way and patio had a nest with dead bird inside. Not what I booked or expected. Had two previous stays here which were great. This was terrible and I never want to return there.
I've stayed here for both business and leisure now and love the cleanliness and staff! Free valet is great with plenty of parking on-site. • 20 minute drive to Downtown Yountville • Food at the pool and Siena are expensive
The property could have been better kept. There were a few fix-it items in the rooms. The lounge chairs outside looked a little worn and dirty. It seemed like there had been a few parties that weekend but the clean up is key for all guests to enjoy. Those small touches could make all the difference.
The resort was beautiful. Lots to do on site. Nice cafe for breakfast/coffee. The resort did not honor the reservation for a two queen bed room as reserved.
Great location Trash strewn hallways Elevators not working Soft lumpy bed Ants in shower Staff could care less
Hidden charges. No coffee in room. Keys didn't work. Phone kept on ringing, front desk was calling.
Spa services and bowling
The room was lovely. The bowling alley and pool area is very fun. The newer area was clean and nice looking. Check in was quick and easy. Bell service was fast but not well informed. The pool area was dirty with trash apparent, the glass tables had not been cleaned from the day before and the cushions need to be replaced as they are stained and worn from use and sun exposure. We were charged two restaurant charges that were not ours. We had to make three or four calls to have it corrected. It finally was, but with no apology for the mistake, trouble, time, etc.... The older area of the hotel needs painting, the tile needs cleaning or painting, the carpet needs to be replaced and just generally needs a facelift to match the newer wing. The hot tub was not hot.
Nice location Very comfortable rooms Pool on the small side for that size resort Food at wedding reception was disappointing Meat was dry and fish was mushy
The staff were very accommodating, a big thanks to Rosemarie. The room was spotless and amazing. Outside was quiet and peaceful. I wish I could've used more of their amenities. A little far from wine tasting. Nothing else.
I like the location of this property and the farmhouse design and vibe. The grounds are beautiful and the set up of cottages is really cool. Beds were quite comfy. Our cottage was poorly located next to the highway. Luckily I turned on the AC and the fan noise drowned most of it out. The cottage had several things that needed attention. Cracked tile, tons of scuffs on the walls, bathroom fixtures hadn't been wiped down and appeared dusty. Like a film of dust on the lotion dispenser is not ok. My husband and I asked to check in early and were not told that the room they had was a room with 2 full beds. We have two young kids and for 900$ a night, one king bed would have been nice. The staff at the check in were less than friendly or accommodating. I had to ask for water and they looked at me like that was a crazy request. A hotel of this caliber should offer water upon arrival especially on 90 degree days. Overall I was disappointed. I wanted so much more from this property and it just wasn't there. I likely won't return.
