9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were delighted with our stay. The apartment was spacious, brightly lit and well furnished, the pool was well maintained and clean. Breakfast was well above average. Kitchen had everything needed to self cater also. Staff were efficient and pleasant and the location (provided you have a car) was perfect, quiet and safe. There are some lovely restaurants and cafes within walking distance. A relatively new project for the owners, it ought to be a great success and fully deserving of praise.

Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury - Grand Baie - Building

9.4 Excellent (201 reviews)

Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was attentive and the service was excellent. The resort was not overcrowded and we liked the idea of having a reserved lounger which meant that you don’t have to wake up early to get the best spot by the beach.
Cons: I would have preferred for dinner to be included in the package, and maybe pay for drinks separately.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Feeling of small private hotel but with all facilities one might wish to have, excellent staff both professional and personable, ease of access from room to beach, ability to walk to restaurants outside of those in the hotel, no charge for room service. Special mention to staff who arranged courier to deliver my phone charger that I had left behind. This compared dramatically to the staff at the Shangri-la hotel where I had gone next both in respect of not seeming to care to find a solution and only suggesting a taxi at a cost of R3000 whereas the Royal Palm arranged the courier service next day delivery for R200.Without any doubt I know I would select the Royal Palm of the two if I was coming back to Mauritius
Cons: Would have liked a deeper pool but hey that is only a minor criticism!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Vanessa took good care of all the instructions given to her. We were there on our honeymoon.perfect place.perfect location.perfect service.we loved every single detail of this beautiful hotel.highly recommend this place.we also received gifts from the hotel.best regards from Mr & Mrs Sproesser

Pros: Everthing was first class; enjoyed the free glass bottom boat that we took. The bread basket with lunch was just superb. Also liked the location really close to town so you could try local restaurants. This is the place to stay ifyou love an elegant, quiet stay be the beach
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing service, we were overwhelmed by the staff and the outstanding care they offered. One of the best experiences we’ve had, hard to top it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is perfect, quiet and a little bit on heaven in Mauritius
Cons: My only criticism is I feel the breakfast needs more things on the menu. As it’s a la carte it would be nice to have some interesting options to choose from other than the standard eggs and bacon.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: No water source in Toilet.

Pros: The view once you enter the hotel is breathtaking. That was definitely my best part of the hotel. The hotel staff were sooo friendly and made you feel welcome. Enjoyed our stay
Cons: The options for food could be better. Especially more fruit options.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Its paradise spent only one night and will sure come back such an amazing place and staff. Highly recommended
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing ,The resort in General was amazing , But very crowded and NO room service
Cons: Restaurants needed to booked fairly quickly in advance for a proper meal otherwise you get stuck with the buffet Enormous resort and very busy Midnight every thing closes on the dot and NO room service
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were fantastic. Restaurants great. Gardens beautiful. Everything maintained perfectly.
Cons: Water excursions (snorkeling and glass bottom boat) weren’t fantastic - staff weren’t enthusiastic and informative as we have experienced before at other places.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, unbelievable food, amazing service. Absolutely perfect.
Cons: Nothing not to like...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The Staff are excellent and very friendly. The facilities are also great and there any many activities to do at no extra charge including snorkeling, paddling, windsurfing. the snorkeling is amazing. They take you out on a boat to a reef and allow you 40 minutes in the water. This trip happens a few times daily and equipment was included. The bedrooms were very clean and modern. I emailed the property beforehand with a few requests which they acknowledged and were seen too.
Cons: food is boring and the alcohol is watered down. the property is located on a reef so the water is very shallow, knee deep and not good for swimming. however there are 3 pools and they are great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is so perfect at Zilwa Attitude! Location, Facilities, Rooms, Amenities, Activities, Staff, Food, Atmosphere... Everything! The beaches and the sunsets there are memorable! My kids had a bless there! We did kaiaking, glass bottom boat, snorkeling.... everything included. You’re going to have a perfect vacation here! I would definitely stay there again and recommend it!
Cons: Nothing! I loved everything single thing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Apart the wonderful honeymoon we had at Zilwa, I want to thank to all the staff, that has been absolutely incredible. But there's one maurition, in particular, that I want to thank and it it the Chef Cennyeh from teu restaurant Karay. I have stomach problems and therefore, on my second day in Mauritias, I started to feel a little bit ill due to the spicies and flavours of the mauritian cuisine. I talked with the responsible of the restaurant, who told me they souls help me. He introduced me ti Chef Cennyeh who turned into my best mauritian friend! He was so lovely, só nice, so helpful and from that day until the end of my vacations he managed a special dish for me every night. I can't thank him enough! Thank to Chef Cennyeh I had the best vacations ever!!! Zilwa, congratulations for the staff you have!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wide range of food for breakfast and immense choice for clients of all cultures, treated with nice Mauritian hospitality, amazing staff always smiling and they know how to treat their customers.Room was exquisite and overlooked the ocean,we had an authentic lunch on the gran zil,a private island beach.
Cons: We enjoyed every moment of our stay and met new friends from Germany,France,England and India,
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My family and I loved our time at Zilwa. Superb staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Rooms and grounds immaculately maintained. Staff always happy to help with a smile and ready to address any issues. Plentiful choice of restaurants in the AI package and tried them all. Also many happy times spent sat at the beach bar sampling the cocktails. My wife has said she would gladly return.
Cons: Evening entertainment I found to be repetitive and would have liked one or two livelier options. The majority of swimming pools were extremely cold (only 1 heated) and as we were in the Mauritian winter season too cold to swim in.

Pros: Wonderful spot!! We had a lovely few days, breakfast was exceptional and the resort had everything you needed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The choice of 6 restaurants. Staff going the extra mile.
Cons: The pillows were too large/high.
7.0 Good
Pros: Full relaxation
Cons: Breakfasts
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything, bedroom was great , the resort is huge with so many pools that never get crowded, beautiful nature, beautiful beach, good food , friendly stuff, the best smell :)
Cons: Keep in mind that there are a lot of people trying to sell stuff on the beach , it can get a lit annoying, although has nothing to do with the hotel!
5.5 Okay
Pros: AURELIE: We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa, which was very nice. We didn't realize we would have a 'butler' who would come into the villa several times each day to clean etc. Our butler was called Aurelie, and she was fantastic. She was perfect actually. We felt uneasy about the idea of having a butler, as we don't really like having people come into the villa and cleaning up after us while we are there. But she was perfect. BEACH: The facilities at the beach were good - the catamarans and kayaks etc, were all great. And Sheena at the boathouse was lovely and friendly. GOLF: The golf course was 6 minute shuttle bus away from the property. The golf course was good - but it is not AT the resort as you might expect from the name. But the shuttle service was excellent.
Cons: BEDS: The beds were the hardest beds I've ever slept on. I have travelled to 45 countries, and these are the equal worst i've been on. It was so bad I had to ask for a new softer bed (never done that before in my life) and the staff brought one in - which was only slightly softer. ROOM SERVICE MENU: The room service menu was very limited. We stayed 12 nights, but by the second night we were over the room service menu. Mostly greasy fries, and burgers, and fried fish, etc. It was all a bit blah. There was only such a small selection of things to choose from. I ordered a side of roasted vegetables that were tasteless. The menu was a big disappointment. The food in the restaurants was good, but we had room service most nights because its easier with our kids. DINALY: One of the staff (apparently a supervisor) walked into the villa (without knocking) twice, for no apparent reason, then hung about inside the house (or in the courtyard where we were all swimming in the pool) - he seemed to be trying to get a tip out of us even though he did literally nothing. It was very uncomfortable and really unappreciated. I basically asked him to leave on the last night. I just stood and blocked him from entering further. WIFI: wifi was poor. Apparently the villa was due for an IT refresh, and it showed. BEACH PEDDLERS: the resort is not on a private beach. Every single day, about once every five minutes (literally - no exaggeration), some guy would walk up to you on the beach and try to sell some junky souvenir product. They weren't pushy (although one guy calling himself superman was particularly annoying), but they were so interruptive. You are just trying to have a special, quiet time with family on the beach, and some dude would come up with his baskets of junk. All day. Every day. Non stop. It's awful
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Phenomenal service and world class facilities. Perfect holiday destination whether you’re after golf, tennis, the beach, diving or a little bit of everything. Many thanks to Jonathan, James and David at the dive centre. There were of course a few shortcomings, however they’re overshadowed by the high level of care and attention by all the staff who work at the resort. There are six restaurants, including a buffet (L’Oasis) and three set menu/a la carte restaurants. No risk of getting bored with the variety on offer. Food is good, tasty and hygiene/cleanliness is of a high standard. Expect some cats begging for food, but perhaps they should really be chasing after the birds who are there for the leftovers. In any case, it’s a very enjoyable environment for all!
Cons: L’Oasis bar staff is very nice albeit a little too relaxed with service quite slow sometimes. Would recommend the La Caravelle bar and Il Corallo restaurant. Rooms and grounds are very well maintained, though given the natural environment in the area, some ants, wasps, lizards or might be present. There is too little storage in the rooms, which means it hasn’t been fully thought out with regards to practicality. The beach is frequented by some very aggressive (but funny) and demanding hawkers who will pester you several times a day, be prepared to fight them off if you’re not in the mood for overpaying 5x for similar items sold in local shops.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location, sunsets in the afternoon and they have the most hospitable staff.
Cons: Anything outside of your rates are quite expensive. Drinks, pancakes, etc.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great all over
Cons: Nothing at all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff nice and clean.
Cons: It will be nice for the hotel to offer a shuttle bus to grand bay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is our third stay here. We know the place very well and enjoy it each time.
Cons: On this visit, ,the food was really terrible - Thai, Indian, Mauritian!! We resorted to going to restaurants in Grand Baie four nights out of our 6 night stay. Two years ago I got very ill on the Indian food - but thought zI should give it another go.........no way I'll try a third time. For the prices these restaurants charge, they should provide excellent meals and not very cheap imitations of Thai, Indian and Mauritian food. In Grand Baie we had super Mauritian food at 1/4 of the price charges in this Resort. It is worth renting a car!!

Pros: The room was very spacious and the location is great, the beach is just across the street. Also, the hotel offers a very good value for money.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleaned and quiet. Breakfast was good. Helpful staff.
Cons: The water was something in it canid a chemical treatment not good for baby stuff wash.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff, always smiling and very helpful (our flight back was in the evening and they let us check out at 6pm without any additional fee). The hotel was very clean and well located, just 20m away from the beautiful beach of Pereybere. Loved the rooftop swimming pool too!
Cons: Better pillows would make the beds more comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Location was Great , taxies all around the hotel , resturants are close to the proberty .
Cons: One of the Disadvantege is the hotel not located directly to the Pereybere Beach , that you have to cross the street to reach it . Otherwise everything was Great.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were nice and helpful
Cons: Not applicable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location across one of the nicest beach on the North. Hotel is well maintained and clean. Premier room excellent, spacious and has an excellent kitchenette. Pravin is one of the best managers we have come across and always around to assist with any requests. Cleaning service was excellent and Anishtee did an amazing job cleaning the apartment. Restaurant manager was always around to assist. Breakfast buffet was excellent with many choices and a different local dish every morning. Chef did an amazing job even when restaurant was full in the morning.
Cons: Nothing as everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pereybere Hotel & Spa is 3* hotel?!?!?! We might want to revisit hotel-rating criteria!! Everything from the reception, managers, maintenance staff, to the breakfast and amenities was top-notch. The hotel has a homey feeling, right from how the reception welcomes the guests, to the beautiful fish in the aquarium at the patio. The roof-top infinity pool was spotlessly clean, reasonably deep (at 1.2m, you are sure everyone will be safe), and great to swim in. I have seen a few complaints about the breakfast, however, apart from the fruit juice that could be improved, the buffet, pastries, hot chocolate and coffee were great. Coming from Uganda, a country I consider to have the greatest food in the world, I cannot fault the hotel restaurant (Voila) as regards their food because they did much better than most other restaurants in Grand Baie. Perhaps, it could be because my expectations were not very high because, I mean, you cannot beat Ugandan food. So, I guess what I am trying to say is, Pereybere Hotel and Spa breakfast, lunch and dinner exceeded our expectations. I would like to point out one specific maintenance staff called Pucha Anishti. Her service was impeccable and she is a friendly lady, always ready to assist you, and although this is a common trait among the hotel staff, she went above and beyond what would be expected of her. For the services received and amenities accessed, this hotel is top value for money! The bed in the deluxe room we stayed in is huge and comfortable. We were almost always late for breakfast because it was hard to get out of bed in the morning. Oh! And it has pretty great wi-fi!! we binged on netflix without any trouble. It is also located close (I mean about 150m) to one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in the North. Everyday at the beach was a new experience. In addition to the many restaurants near the hotel, serving a wide range of continental dishes, the street food at the beach was an added experience!
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I booked at the Seapoint for my dad’s 60th birthday. My parents utterly loved it. The staff were so attentive, polite and always willing to help and go the extra mile. We would specially like to thank Vishnu, Atish, Manhav, Rajesh, Raj, Ishmael, Shravan, Parvesh, Pooja & Abisheik. On behalf of my parents Ranash and Resha Maharaj we would like to thank the staff for their excellent service!
Cons: Menu needs a bit more of varieties, soup, curry options and roasts.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Only the pool.
Cons: Location , Food service was extremely bad, non trained stuff , Room cleanses.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is clean with good views and its right on the beach. Excellent breakfast is offered with very attentive staff. The hotel has a very good vibe with happy colours and good WIFI connection.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was paradise for a week. We liked the small size and therefore boutique feeling, the staff who truly tried to make our stay as best as they could, the food, the special little things such as the ‘towel friends’. We did some excursions with the catamaran to flat island, snorkeling, went by bike to mont choisy beach for some local vibes. Great tour of the south by Keetan. Had a fantastic time.
Cons: I’m thinking hard. Maybe smth different to add each day to the breakfast buffet as a suggestion. But really a suggestion, food was good.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Food package (no open buffet for this hotel - be careful)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Attention to detail by staff, good food, well maintained property, lovely views from all rooms, quiet and relaxing because it is a small boutique hotel just what we were looking for.
Cons: Not much could be improved for us.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Seapoint Boutique hotel is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Mauritius in couple, solo or as friends. Far from large industrial hotels, this place offers a high level of service, charm in great calm and peace. With the ultimate attention to satisfy customers, the entire staff: from welcome desk, to bar and restaurant up to Spa and managers - is simply fantastic and made my stay memorable. Rooms are very confortable and hotel facilities very appropriate for a relaxing stay. I wish you the same !
Cons: A bit more variety at breakfast. But that is a minor point.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We’ve been home for 3 weeks now, and not a day goes by that we don’t chat about how incredible our experience was at Seapoint. First off, the staff at Seapoint are amazing. Their focus everyday was to make sure we were comfortable and happy. We can’t thank them enough for the impeccable service we had - and for all our very special surprises - thanks Manav
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment you arrive all of the staff is friendly, helpful, and ready to make your stay the best possible! It’s located in a great area, near lots of beautiful beaches, shops and restaurants. The manager Vishnu was fantastic as was all of the staff! Wish we would have booked it for more days!

Cons: Hm. Not cheap. But it worths!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed the stay. From getting a free upgrade to having really friendly and active service, everything was as we expected it. Thank you again, you made our stay.

7.5 Good
Pros: The place is a little bit noisy (car noise from the street) and the wifi is very weak... otherwise it is ok.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and quite, and the location is very convince
Cons: Clean and quite
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Right across from a great beach
Cons: Very basic rooms
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool, very clean with clean Beach towels available at anytime. The location is also great, 30s from a quiet little beach. We had fish for dinner and it was delicious, perfectly grilled.
Cons: The music in the patio / bar area is too loud in the afternoon, it gets irritating after a bit. Was also a bit disappointed by the breakfast (average white bread, no pastries).
6.8 Good
Pros: Good location close to the beach. House keeping staff were very friendly and kind.
Cons: The pool was closed for the whole duration of our trip.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mauritius was part of our honeymoon trip. On our arrival, we were surprised with a huge bouquet of red roses. :)) Location of hotel is very close to the beach, 10 steps (big steps). Staff were all super and informative. Rooms are spacious and always clean. Special thanks to Akshay, Kaviraj, Amisha (bar) and Sharmila, Anishka (housekeeping) to make our stay more relaxing and pleasant.
Cons: Very short time for breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The food at the restaurant was very good, great quality and very well presented. The breakfast was pleasant too, exactly as in the pictures. The personal was very friendly, and quite helpful, even though they were not organizing any tours.
Cons: The smell of humidity in the bedroom and bathroom was very intense, sometimes seemed a bit unhealthy. The double room has no practical space to put the luggage of two people, we had to keep it in our nightstands because otherwise nor even on the floor. The wardrobe is in the bathroom, therefore the clothes stored there would keep humidity. A bit too noisy during the day with the cars passing by the road in front, even though there was no problem during the night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The style of the complex is contemporary, fresh and comfortable..... open terrace is great to relax on with an evening glass of wine.... delightful property
Cons: The GM/Owner only spoke French and it was difficult to communicate All other staff were extremely helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation is about 1hr 7mins drive from airport. We took a taxi from airport and negotiated the price for 2000rupees (normal range is between 2000-2300rupees). On arrival we got a complimentary, 'toparadis made' ice tea and cool towel which was highly appreciated as the temperature was 30degree centigrade. We stayed in the family suite, had two bedrooms and a sitting room. The rooms were cleaned daily. The wifi was great (as we had over 8devices connected at each time), the TV had good English channels, the bathroom had multiple shower heads which was great too. There are a lot of amazing restaurants close to the guest house and the beach is a stone throw away. The staff were super amazing, very friendly and accommodating. You also have the option of renting a car from the guest house if you want. Some other review we read had said they were bothered by noise from the road, maybe because the family suite was located at the back, but we didn't have that problem with noise. We really enjoyed our stay. We decided to rent a car for our stay cause I don't know if using the bus would have been great for our group but if you are a true tourist
Cons: 1. We had booked for breakfast and dinner, thinking it was buffet style but it was not. Each person was entitled to 800ruppes worth of meal (with the half board we booked). We only found that on arrival. The good side however was that if you skipped a meal say because you ate outside, the money is added to your next meal. The breakfast was limited options. But in all the food was tasty. 2. The family room we stayed in had just one dustbin in the toilet, at a point we had to move it to the sitting room cause we had no way of discarding rubbish. 3. The swimming pool is located right at the entrance of the guest house, so as you drive in from the main room (which is busy due to the bus stop being in front of the guest house). I was surprised at first, but a few days in I got used to it. Didn't want to swim much cause people on the road could look in at you and the other guests who were eating were also having the swimming pool as their view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful little hotel in a gorgeous setting. The pool area was well laid out with the rooms around. The rooms although not huge had everything we needed and were very clean. The food we ate in the restaurant was fantastic and of a high standard. All the staff at the hotel were great, happy to help with anything you needed and the 3 working the bar were so kind, happy and helpful. Akshay, Nitin and Amisha always had a smile for you, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. What great people.
Cons: Nothing. All was great and I'd definitely return to Toparadis.

Pros: Everything was perfect!! I actually feel that the photos don't do this property justice as it is so idyllic. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Cons: The staff here were rather rude towards us, we were on the sun loungers and kept telling us that they were only for residents although we were. Also i called reception at 11.30 as i really needed water and they told me there was nothing they could do for me
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were incredibly helpful. We would like to thank Racheal, who looked after our booking and the girls on reception - Arnelle, Curby and Deborra. Thank you
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location and the ease of the place. Such value for money with an unbelievably friendly and efficient front of house (Wish I could remember her name!!). Room was comfortable, staff and security really nice, O wellness such a nice touch on the beach, perfect Trou Aux Biches spot along with wake boarding being included and the reef so close!! Such a win!! Has to be one of the best places to relax at on the island if you take everything into consideration!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tranquil environment, friendly staff. Small hotel in a great location on a beautiful beach.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The Good - The property is right on the main road, easy to find, near the supermarket - large room and balcony The OK -They gave us a cake for my spouse's birthday. We didn't ask for one though - The location is on the beach
Cons: - The toilet is in the shower, which has wooden slats with 1cm gaps between the slats. The damp wood is odd to sit on while on the toilet - The kitchenette had square UK style outlets. The toaster and kettle provided have round plugs. What is even the use of providing these? - The noise from the road is pervasive. In room#6 someone on the ground near reception or from another room can see straight into the bathroom and room. -On the second morning I was there, a member of the staff approached me at the breakfast buffet and quite rudely asked me what room I was in. Then he repeated this in disbelief. -After I sat down at a plain unmarked table that nobody else was sitting at, I was asked to leave. I could see this member of the staff pointing at me from afar, instructing another man to ask me to move. I was told the table was "reserved" and that I must not sit there. There was no sign that the table was reserved . I have never been so humiliated in my life. No body said sorry. No body cared. I was left crying in the middle of the breakfast area, a plate of fruit in one hand and a man telling me to get up and move. In retrospect I should have had the courage to refuse, but i was too shocked and scared to say anything. Was my not being white the reason for this rudeness? Does Le sakoa not want non caucasian customers? Having been to 32 countries and enjoyed non-racist behaviour in all of them, this was a rude awakening. No rapprochement from management. Nobody cared that a patron was left in tears and checked out of their hotel 2 days into a 5 day stay. Having been made to pay upfront I lost 3 days' money. I asked to see a manager and was told nobody was there. I am so shocked and humiliated even now, a week later as I write this. -Also, the outside of the metallic dustbins are covered in a weird brown grime. -The make up mirror has greasy fingerprint on it just after housekeeping.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow wow wow the location - we had the first room onto the beach - and what a beach
Cons: Nothing to write here
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It's a bit more private and secluded compared to rest of the resorts. We liked that. Staff and security are really nice and helpful. Breakfast is amazing. View is amazing. The resort got an "island" vibe and they should keep that. Good value for money compared to other resorts. Scooter rental very close (and safe, tried it). Supermarket very close (to buy snacks for tours etc.). Room includes fully equipped kitchen!
Cons: We had a bit of trouble with hot water, but I think it was an exception and staff fixed it quickly. Staff also allowed us to shower in other room and got a complementary champagne and fruit basket which was unexpected and nice. Can't really complain unless it's frequent. Food is a bit overpriced. Garden view feels a bit dissapointing for the money paid. We upgraded for seaview on the spot. We found the toilet in same (small) space with shower to be a bit weird (not all rooms are like that).
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: It looks great on camera.
Cons: We are avid travellers and no strangers to high-end hotels. When we pay good money then we expect good service. Unfortunately our experience at Le Sakoa was very disappointing. Upon arrival we were informed that, as a matter of policy, the first bottle of water, two tea bags and two coffee capsules would be complimentary and that we would have to pay if we required more. Neither new bottles of water, nor new coffee capsules were later provided. Does Sakoa’s management really expect its guests to call reception and ask for a bottle of water when they cannot drink tap water? We find it astonishing that a hotel would charge more than 400 EUR per night per room and demand that guests ask and pay for drinking water. These amenities are complementary and replenished in standard/business/boutique hotels around the world. The welcoming letter mentions that water sports activities are available between 10:00 and 16:30. This information is misleading as, in fact, only 2 slots are available: from 10 to 11 and from 14 to 16:30. For waterski, the afternoon slot is even narrower. In fact, the contract that Sakoa has with the Parasailing shop up the beach only allows guests to enjoy one waterski ride back and forth... not a full hour. The letter is also misleading with respect to the “rum selection available at our K-bar”. It omits to mention that guests have to pay for this service which Sakoa so graciously puts on offer. The first day we wanted to order lunch at 14:00 but we were turned down by the waiter who claimed that the chef was already gone. When we pointed out that the welcome letter mentions that lunch is served till 14:30 we were told by the receptionist, who went to consult the manager with whom we wanted to talk, that we could have snacks. We found it really impolite that the manager would not even be bothered to show his face. We later realised that it was the man who would almost constantly sit at the bar and smoke.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Cozy hotel with beautiful private bech. Friendly service. There is an opportunity to do some water activities for free (its included into price). Cool.
Cons: The smell of moisture was constantly smelt inside the room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice place, friendly staff and spacious room.
Cons: The food was average need to be improved.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best staff I have ever come across. The service was exceptional.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The facility itself is fantastic and well maintained, two great rim pools and a small private beach. Not doing much is however what this location is about, activities are not the big thing here but you can go snorkeling, don't expect too much though. Quiet, fairly private seating and not over crowded makes this a nice relaxing hotel. Nice touches like coming around to clean your sun glasses and placing nice flower arrangements in bowls of water all around the facility add to the experience.
Cons: Definitely the food is not up to a 5 star standard, in quality and variation. Even with full board there is a menu to pay extra (the good things) and not even water is free for dinner. Half a litre of water is what one gets per day, then one has to pay (half board) which I find unacceptable, where the tap water is not for drinking. There are NOT 4 restaurants here, there is only one kitchen on the property that supplies the 3 main eating areas (within calling distance of each other) that have a varied menu, and a beach bar for lunch that also gets the food from the main kitchen. Hence the quality is similar across all 4 restaurants. The waiters are not professional (forget rolls, rush the courses, etc.) and could do with some professional training.
6.3 Good
Pros: The hotel grounds are stunning, two gorgeous pools and a beautiful cove. The food is amazing, plenty of choice and four different dining areas. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The room is a huge disappointment. Having booked a senior club suite I would advise people not to bother. It does not afford you any additional benefits. There is no proactive service from any of the staff and the general level of service falls well below other five star hotels I have visited.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location on the sea-side with a private cove. Loads of different spots to sunbath on the premises. Two infinity pools to enjoy. A friendly location, where everybody will feel at home in luxury. The opportunity to taste local foods in the 3 different restaurant formula's, the Dining-room offers, à la cart choices and some days has a buffet style approach, with a rich variety of choices. The hotel offers boat trips against a supplement with their own catamaran sailing boat or private motorship and a free 20 minute trip with their glass-bottom boat or a free 40 minutes snorkeling trip: gear at your disposal.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The all inclusive formula is a great deal giving you access to all items on every menus, there are only a few dishes not included. Services was very nice and staff from the spa very nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The overall experience was amazing! Starting with the location and finishing with the staff, I have only good words to say. The room was all the time cleaned, everybody was smiley and happy. The place itself deserves 100% it’s name, pure Paradise on Earth! Thank you for taking care of us in such a lovely way!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place. Really lovely for couples. Very friendly staff
Cons: No real beach to use. The food was mediocre at times
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and quiet place, you really get in a paradise of relax. Had some misunderstanding but solved perfectly by the staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service from the staff was second to none. Every single member of staff is to be praised for this. Hats off to management and the owners.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was amazing and the staff extremely freindly.
Cons: Limited vegetarian menu, the hotel rules were not followed (reservations of sun beds and sunbathing nude)

9.3 Excellent
Pros: So kind, helpful and friendly people. It’s really a charming place with nice details and good and cozy atmosphere. The breakfast was awesome and location is in a good walking distance to Pereybere beach and restaurants.
Cons: Everything around is under construction and so noisy, so unfortunately it was not possible to enjoy this place in the way I intended. If you only spend the nights there it doesn’t matter, but otherwise you have to know they start roistering 7am until 5pm, sometimes even longer.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The decor and the chilled out vibe. The outdoor area is beautiful and we feel so relaxed there. The staff were all very warm and friendly
Cons: The mosquitoes but that can’t be helped!

Pros: Everything. The decor, the staff, the hosts, facilities, everything just perfect.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The place is great and it was our best choice. It was really cosy and clean. Garden was incredible. You had plenty places to relax: sofas, comfortable chairs, swings etc. Our favourite was a pool at night :).
Cons: It it were on the beach, then it would have been real paradise. But 5-7 min walk was ok too :).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excelent value for money. Lovely staff, they try hard. Place has character. Close to everything, including great beaches and restaurants.
Cons: There is construction near by. Hope that is over by the time their high season starts.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff excellent, room sea view ,nice balcony, grounds very well maintained, bar area over looking the sea, Food to die for they had everything, room shower ,bed very good.spa excellent and cheap
Cons: Snack bar not very good perhaps ham ,cheese etc in there
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and dinner buffet was good and we also liked Nautic a'la carte restoran. Pool area lovely and especially liked travel chairs under the palm trees. Location is very close to Grand Baie shops and eating options. Beach was small, but they have some free water sport options right on the beach. I used glass bottom boat (schedule is 2-3 times a day).
Cons: There's should be couch in the standard room, there was only one chair in the room. In standart room you could hear noises from corridor, there was a small cap between floor and the door. As hotel is in the city beach is not very big.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The buffet was varied enough, so you wouldn't end up getting bored. The waiters were very attentive and always made sure you had everything you needed. I would recommend taking the all inclusive option so you can also enjoy the a la carte seaside restaurant within one cost.
Cons: Literally no complaints.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was amazing. Staff were brilliant, and accommodating
Cons: People with young children should have more entertainment for their kids, it ruins other people holidays. Dinner, you need to have a larger variety of cooked vegetables

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Apartment itself was great. Good location and really comfortable.
Cons: The payment set up was not explained properly, nor was the necessary arrival time, PLUS they had the booking wrong. Had to stand around in a driveway for 15-20 minutes waiting for someone to bring a key - and it was only 1710!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and clean apartment. Great named secured parking, fitted our large SUV. Good swimming pool. Quiet surroundings.
Cons: Nothing, but you need a car if you stay here.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious apartment. Very clean and everything was in good condition. Comfy bed. Close to the main road so it was easy to catch the bus to get around
Cons: The wifi was disappointing. It completely disconnected when we were in the bedroom. Abit far from restaurants and shops
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The washing machine, pool, size of the apartment, location, allocated parking bay was great. Free late checkout was fantastic too. Lovely, modern apartment with free WIFI.
Cons: As we arrived late and woke early due to time difference,it would have been nice for some basic food to be in the apartment on arrival. Perhaps a fruit basket, a baguette or something similar would have been good as nothing was open very early morning.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The whole staff was very polite and kind. The welcome of the hotel manager and cleaning team was above our expectations! The comfort of the apartment was extraordinary. Especially the beds, which were sublime. If you rent a car, you can park it at a covered parking, which is secured day and night. I don't think you will find something better price/quality on Mauritius.
Cons: The earliest time for the normal breakfast is 9 AM. Of course this doesn't matter if you want to relax the whole day at the apartment, but if you want to discover the island this sometimes is a little bit late.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The enormous terrace is fantastic. Evenings spent lying on the sofa sipping drinks was a super bonus Rooms large and airy with plenty of cupboard space. Modern, tasteful furniture and large sofas made relaxing easy
Cons: There wasn't a salad spinner and since it's self-catering most people buy lettuce that needs to be washed. I'd also add a vacuum cleaner so that for any family with kids it's easy to keep the apartment cleaner, even though there are excellent housekeepers who clean daily.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: World class amenities, clean , nice pool, good size of rooms.
Cons: The apartment have no locking provision from inside. No privacy in rooms and bathrooms. You can not lock them. They charged credit card instead of taking cash even after my request.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Element Bay II is the most luxurious experience. The security, parking, lifts and friendly staff (Zameer & Yogita) were extremely helpful. The penthouse is brand new, and has all the luxuries a person could wish for. It’s much bigger than you can imagine. Rain showers, beautiful beds and amazing views. You simply cannot go wrong. Private pool upstairs. With sitting area where we just gazed at the stars at night. I love this place.
Cons: I loved everything. You must hire a car. We travelled freely whenever we pleased.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing property with the family. We walked in feeling happy and reassured. Mauritius is amazing but we also looked forward to the comfort of Element Bay when we returned from our excursions. It was so easy to relax by the pool or lounge on the terrace. We will come again without hesitation. Special mention for Yogeeta our efficient and professional maid who was meticulous in making sure everything in our room was perfect. Also the security guards were magnificent, they even arranged for 2 coconuts to be cut off the tree for my children. Very secure, very clean, booking and checking in efficient and we were sad to leave. Ashley the Complex Manager was always on hand if we needed him and made our stay so much more relaxing without any worries. Our flight was at 23:55 on the last day and he approved for us to stay until 19:00 to leave for the airport, this allowed us to swim in the sea and pool before heading for the airport, life saver when you have a 2 year old who ended up sleeping the 12 hour flight back!! Thank you Ashley!
Cons: Nothing, one of the best places we visited.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's nice property to stay in with family
Cons: Breakfast should have variety

Pros: Every thing
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The size of the room was perfect. The little balcony had both the pool view and sea view. The sound of waves while sleeping was extremely relaxing. For the most part, the view was a great plus!! The staff were very welcoming and did their most to make us feel comfortable. The nearest public beach is a walking distance.
Cons: In regards to food, the breakfast was ok,very limited options and the dinner wasn't very tasty. We had the pumpkin soup, mushroom risotto, chicken rolls and pizza for the kids. As for the room, the shower and sink got clogged everytime we used them so water was all over the bathroom floor which could be very slippery and dangerous. We werent able to use the jacuzzi in the room because it was clogged as well.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Facility is not in line with 5 stars I did booking of 5 stars hotel and I was expecting 5 stars for my holidays; while I consider this hotel is 3 stars and despite fact that bigger room was given to us; weekends was spoiled

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was very clean and the surroundings were immaculate and maintained perfectly. Location was good with nice clean beaches. Food was excellent especially in the Navigator restaurant if you don't want the buffet.
Cons: Uncomfortable sun loungers - Not long enough and no cushioning. Beach bar service would have been an improvement too. We did not use the pool area but it seemed to be shaded most times when we passed by.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room is so nice and the resort is romantic, there are some free activities like the archery I really loved it, the band that plays at night is very nice too, the staff were so nice and they offered us an amazing honeymoon package too. There are showers and changing area for the people who check out but have their flight at night as they would still have access to the facilities.
Cons: The sea food they offer in the restaurants is quite smelly, I think it’s because they use frozen seafood and not fresh, most of the main dishes included coriander and that can be an issue for the people who don’t like it. The food is kinda repetitive in the buffet too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel with great customer service and very good location with easy access to the northern part of the island. The rooms were very comfortable and clean with direct access to the garden, beach, restaurants, and bar. The private beach and available water sports made our stay even more pleasant. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Mauritius.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best staff I have ever seen and I travel very much around the world. No matter how much questions we may have they try always to do the best for you. Best attention for the clients. There's no refuse for the clients, they want to see you happy. The restaurant and bar personal, reception personal, the make up room personal, garden personal, beach personal they all are all the best. Very very kind with the clients. Eating was good very diversified so there's something tasty for everyone, coffee very good, bed comfortable , air conditioning good, WiFi good, beautiful garden, beautiful room, clean room, good phonic isolated, good entertainment programme every evening. Was one of best vacation. I will come again!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - great location - access to some activities at no cost eg. kayak, padaloo, etc. - welcoming and good staff service - sufficient free parking
Cons: generally food taste was not good
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location as you can see both sunrise and sunset. Very friendly and helpful staff and overall great hotel for family. Loved that they kept a mauritian theme to the buffet cuisine. I spent two nights with my kids (12 & 9) and they enjoyed themselves. Mr Rama offered fantastic customer service when there was an issue with one of the rooms I booked. Will definitely go again for the hospitality.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was perfect. My wife and daughter love the hotel, the restaurant, the sea view room, the night walk and the pool.. Very large area to walk around and the lagoon is great for snorkeling.. It is not deep so you don't have to be perfect at swimming to dive in.. It is only around knee to chest deep.. Amazing views..
Cons: Only one - Was stopped from entering the pool bar becuase I was wet. Never experienced this in any other hotel... Not sure how they stop rain water from going in though...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good
Cons: The toilets was far away from the pool area and very cold to enter when you are wet.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Large and many activates
Cons: Bathroom
9.3 Excellent
Pros: All inclusive was well worth the money. Food / restaurants options were great. The bakery section in particular was fantastic!
Cons: Shame for us as the hotel was quiet during our stay so the teenager/children’s club were more low key than we had hoped for.
Overview Reviews
Named after the legendary young couple immortalized by the French author Bernardin de St Pierre in his novel Paul & Virginie, the hotel is an invitation to a relaxing and romantic stay enhanced by an idyllic tranquility and a soothing atmosphere. The decor of colonial inspiration, a subtle combination of wood, stone and thatch roofs, reveals a peaceful haven for couples seeking an unforgettable getaway to paradise island. Located in the fishing village of Grand Gaube, near the main attractions of the island, the hotel offers sea facing rooms, 2 restaurants (including one on the waterfront), 2 bars with unspoiled view over the lagoon and the Northern islands, 2 swimming pools, a Seven Colours Wellness Spa and a romantic atmosphere in a charming setting a perfect refuge away from worldly cares
9.5 Excellent
Pros: All staff members were fantastic - notably : Danny, Clemence, Stella and Melanie. Danny was very warm, very friendly and invited me to a cultural exchange which was much appreciated. Clemence was extremely understanding and kind. Melanie was very helpful and knowledgeable. Stella has an incredible memory and could anticipate any needs I had. The hotel design is stunning and the size of the place is nice and cosy but not too small.
Cons: The hotel offered a selection of excursions but didn’t incorporate those at further reaches of the island (it is only 1.5hrs to reach the south of the island.)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff friendliness, facilities included, gorgeous resort, good food, clean, great pools etc. Wonderful place.
Cons: Food and drinks were a bit pricey. Suggest considering all inclusive if you plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing view and readily available water sports
Cons: 1. Generally the toilets were not so well ventilated. 2. The staff working hours seemed very long which gives me great concern.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great hotel for people who don't like children. The service was very attentive and the food in the restaurant very tasty.
Cons: There really isn't much outside the hotel. They do run a shuttle to Grand Baie which helped otherwise it could have been a bit dull
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything it has been perfect. Great breakfast, beautiful and calm beach, amazing pool with view of the Ocean and helpful staff.
Cons: Nothing to complain.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: Pillows were very uncomfortable. Food was below standard. Coffee in rooms was bad quality.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This resort is just great. It is not too big and remains cosy. Rooms are very well furnished and have great see views! Pools are beautiful and there are sufficient chairs all around the pools for all the guests. The restaurant is very good with a lot of different choices every day. Wines are not too expensive and overall, are good. The spa is just fantastic!
Cons: The biggest problem is that the staff is very slow...It took us more than 45 minutes to check in although we were alone...just imagine if 3 or 4 groups of guests arrive at the same time... Another (small) disappointment comes from the beach of the hotel that is not very pretty compared to other beaches on the island. It is also very rocky! We therefore prefered to stay at the pool. As a global comment, but this is true for all hotels in Mauritius I guess, the staff is very friendly, kind and make efforts but most of the waiters are just inefficient and slow...
5.5 Okay
Pros: The bar was nice.
Cons: Well. If you have the basic dinner it’s not a really menu you can choose from but a set dinner. You feel like in a canteen and are treated like that too. The rooms are too old.
6.3 Good
Pros: Very nice amenities, great pools, free boat ride
Cons: Rooms squeezed between the sea front (great) and the road (awful) with little room soundproof If you want to do snorkeling from the beach and see nice fish, get ready to swim a mile or two (one way)

Pros: Great customer service - special thanks to Audrey. Very nice breakfast. We really enjoyed the water activities and the land activities (Petanque)! Late check out was just a cherry on the cake! Great value for money!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully designed rooms, common areas and grounds. Very friendly staff. Catamaran tour was great with extremely yummy barbecue. We would have loved to stay longer!
Cons: None of the coffee options at breakfast were nice. But that's a very common problem in hotels...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The Location, Staff and Resort is beautiful, the beach across the road is very nice and offers a beautiful view of Coin De Mire, the resort is also nice and close to Grand Baie, which is great! The Swimming Pool is superb, very clean and clear, nice and close to the Pub which is great!
Cons: The food wasn't the best, there was a lot on offer, but unfortunately we stayed at another Hotel previously where the food was excellent and the food at coin de mire didn't even compare. Also have to wait quite a while to get an egg or omelette in the morning. The quality wasnt as good as it could be, but we only stayed 3 days so it was fine. the dining area is however beautiful and right next to the pool which is nice.

Pros: Whole resort was really nice. Great services, nice personal, on the beach you could borrow paddle board, pedalo or kayak, and there was trips with glass bottom boat.
Cons: Pretty high prices on everything that´s not covered in your package (we had a half board). Beach wasn´t that good as we expected. The sea was little durky in the bay.

Pros: We liked everything. Helpful and kind stuff, clean, spacy and comfortable rooms. Good position between two beaches.
7.0 Good
Pros: The number given in the booking is an office which is not always attended - I had to phone several times on morning of arrival to confirm we could come before 2pm. Once in there is a caretaker number which is a 24-hour cell phone.
Cons: Appliances are now very dated e.g. washing machine rusty; could do with replacing and charging a bit more!
7.0 Good
Pros: Location is good, staff is nice but available only for a couple of hours in the morning.
Cons: Walls are not sound proof and dogs disturb u at night. Ants and mosquitoes everywhere. Swimming pool water wasn't clean.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: good location, quiet, with a small common swimming pool that can be very handy. At time we had issues with hot water (not major ones though) and due to the fact that we stayed on the ground floor lots of gekos around and in the apartment. Due to the season and ground floor location, quite a humid place as well, but this wasn't the problem of the apartment itself, but important to note if you need a more airy place.
