Comfortable rooms. Swimming pool area not so big and only a few beds.
Breakfast was excellent. Location was also very good. No drinks served at the bar area.
the big rooms, the seperate door in the hotel room, so your room didn't open straight out on to the corridor. the pool on top of the hotel outside was dirty and cold. the toilet smelled of urine. the showed leaked all over the floor and we had to use our towels to keep mopping the water up.
there was only 2 lifts available and one was down. To make matters worse, the hotel was busy. Also there was some roadworks outside the hotel and there was no parking so we had to pay for parking ourselves
Comfortable accomodation, location good;
Good location for the Acropolis convention centre. Roadworks outside the hotel, location on a very busy road. Room was very very basic.
Great staff. Very helpfull. Strange smell in hallway outside the room.
Room was a comfortable size Breakfast should be included in the price
It was clean, comfortable and only one tram station away from Piazza Garibaldi. Good connection to the railway station and very close to the Ligne d'Azur bus ( 1 euro trip to Monaco, Cannes, Menton, Antibe etc). We spent the first night in a standard double room even though we had paid for a superior one, because they were all booked up; that was a little confusing since we had made our reservation and paid for a superior double room three months prior to our arrival... But they change our room the very next day and it was ok.
Third visit to this hotel, very good value for money....better than many 4 star in Nice. Close to trams/trains and easy walking to Old Nice......
Personals are best of the best!
The location walking distance to the beach. Our room was beside the elevator, very noisy. And there was hair on the bathroom floor. Would need some renovations
its location It was kind of old and worn out. An d you had to boil your eggs yourself in the morning buffet
Nice staff, average performance was very good for the price we paid for. Room was a bit old, and would need some refreshing...
The room (double with park/pool view) was comfortable, spacious and clean. The hotel and pool was clean and the staff were friendly. It was peaceful and a great place to relax, and the location of the hotel is excellent with great bus and train links to Nice, Monacco and Eze. Would like to see fresh fruit as an option at breakfast. Would also like to see tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
From the moment we were greeted at reception we felt completely at home. On entering our rooms we were impressed by the spaciousness - the fact you had a foyer which could be closed off so when answering the door the bedroom was not visible. Rooms had a balcony and good ventilation in the bathroom as most places do not have any windows that open to allow fresh air. Breakfast was included in the cost so an added bonus. The area was easy to get around and bus & train with easy walking distance. In fact we caught the bus into Nice for the day E1 each trip. Also caught the train into Ventimiglia (Italy) for E5-20, train back to Monaco E3-80 each and then bus back E1 each. What a fantastic way to get around and so cheap! Definitely recommend.
Excellent staff. Breakfast was optional. They did not charge me for parking. 12 minute drive to Monte Carlo.
Good hotel, friendly staff Rooms little to small
Very helpful staff, comfortable beds, Some noise from leisure centre next to hotel.
Visited Monte Carlo my wife had her shawl stolen
no staff 70% of time, all were restorating rooms. Wireless doesn't work, even at reception, they gave me cable at reception desk, I could check my e-mails only.
There was nothing I liked about the Artemis The hotel was very depressing . We only had a standard room but the balcony rail was unsafe. The corridors were were very shabby and un cared for. The breakfast was very bad value for money. the staff except one lady were very very unhelpful. The hotel was really geared up for coach parties.
Having a room with a terrace and a view. Also the room itself was grand and the ensuite.also the air conditioning worked nicely 1. There were no facilities in the room for making a cup of tea or coffee. 2. the corridors and lifts were in atrocious condition. 3. No effort was made to make the terrace a pleasant place to be eg no table.
close to town center and beach Superior rooms are very noisy since they face the train station, the whole building needs a lot of work. Standard rooms are old and needs renewal. Official category is misleading. Some staff does not even understand English at all. Breakfast is lousy.
The location was the best thing about the hotel. It did have its own bar which was good. The room was not superb but suitable for our one night stay. Although the room was ok, when we exited the lift at our floor we stepped into a horrible passageway which had not been decorated for years and the rooms there looked the same. Fortunately i had opted for a different room. It was still a shock having to see that and walk through there on first arriving. This half of the hotel is in desperate need of refirbing.
only the room was nice the entrance is terrible - dirty ;the lifts are the same - dirty, the coridors - extremely dirty with spots from unknown genesis , next time they have to pay me to stay there
Staff efficiency and helpfullness above anything else
Friendly, helpful staff, excellent location. However, was bitten badly on the forth day of my stay by insects. more then 10 bites. Doctor has certified that they were bed bugs. Despite the doctors letter the owner - Mr Gaucher has refused to compensate on the grounds he does not believe they were bed bugs. Because he did not find any. (if he had used a microscope, he would have been much more successful in locating them). The other point, once was given the key from someone else's room in error, where two guys lived. Security is not their strongest point.
The staff was helpful. Breakfast was basic, but good enough. Everything inside is old and needs urgent renovation. Beds, matraces were uncomfortable, sink broken and fixed with glue.
Location is fantastic, Staff we're lovely and hotel atmosphere classic French. Noise.. Thin walls, Night Club next door.
The location. Close to all transport including Gare Routiere with buses to the airport, Cannes, Monaco and surrounding areas. Trams were also at the door. Many restaurants and shopping in the area. Beach was walking distance. Nothing.
Charming hotel very well located in old town of Nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room cute and quirky
Friendly and authentic environment. Great scenery just outside the door. Nice bathroom.
Very clean, with convenient location and charming staff. The breakfast was excellent too. On arrival I was welcomed with a glass of red wine, which was very considerate as I was tired. I loved this hotel and will stay again every time I visit Nice. Yes there are no lifts but that is part of the charm of the old convent building, and stairs are good exercise anyway!
Ideal location for the Old Town, Bus Service and Tram Service the bottle water in the room should been provided free of charge
good location close to tram stop (4 stops away from train station Nice Ville) and 5 min walk from the sea and restaurant area, friendly staff no lift - you should carry the luggage up the steep staircase by yourself(in my case it was 4th floor), poor breakfast, noisy, shabby
The location is very good for eating, drinking, going to the beach. The rooms are nice, clean, and have air conditioning. I will stay there if I ever visit Nice again.
Staff was kind and the room was clean and usefull for a short trip. Location is good. The entrance and the coridors was old looking.
Great location across the road from the comference centre. It had good access to transport and was walking distance to the touristy areas of Nice.. A plus point was the multi lingual staff and many bars and restaurants just outside.
I stayed here a couple of times for conferences at the Acropolis Conference Center. This hotel is about 1/2 block from the entrance, so it is very convenient for weary conference attendees. Access to the wifi network is pretty pricey. Many hotels offer this service free and it would be nice if this hotel followed suit. Travelers should be aware that the rooms in this hotel are very small. The elevator is between floors, so you must be able to move your luggage at least 1/2 flight by yourself.
3 star hotel for price of 2 star hotel in Nice. None.
central position, easy to get to the center by foot or by pubblic transport the room is very noisy, the moquettes very dirty and the staff unfriendly. we found hair of other people in our towel and the general clean was insufficient
I choosen it because it's if front of acropolis meeting centre
Location, room size, staff interaction Old facility, outdated bathroom, old tv
50 yards from conference centre lack of a safe in hotel room
very good basic hotel
The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. It is really handy for the Acropolis exhibition centre: almost opposite.
Across the Acropolis conference center, one block from public transporation elevator does not run to actual floors but to mezzanines.
The breakfast was really good!
NOthing really Size of room, quality of decor - old and poor, no restaurant or bar , very noisy as doors did not even come to the bottom of the door frame - basically an awful place to have to stay
Very nice budget hotel with clean room (although very small) and friendly hotel staff. The location is good--about 15 minutes walk to the beach (nice fountains, gardens along the way so you won't be bored), and 5 minutes walk to the bus station, where you can easily take the bus to the Nice airport. Sound proof is not good.
Good location, friendly staff, cosy room
Breakfast was great - A+++. Staff was helpful as well. Rooms are a bit small, no radiator in the bathroom, bad sound isolation
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed a third night but stayed in a different room. The room was simple and clean. I suggest a complete airing of the room between guests. Other than that, we did enjoy our stay and the central location was wonderful.
The Hotel was very close to the old Town and Harbour. The staff were also very helpful The room was very small. It was also meant to be non smoking but our floor stank of cigarettes
Vicinity of the city center, free internet access, comfortable room, kettle in the room, breakfast The breakfast price is a bit higher than in other similar hotels. I do not think that the stairways would be enough in the case of a real evacuation - it is very steep, narrow and people would hurt each other on the spiral stairs. Just think that the building has 8 levels. I did not find this safe.
good location, good price good staff
Easy access to local bus station. Near to the old town Rooms a little small
room wasnt clean, very expensive but not equal with what u get for that money, a am very dissapointed
Close to old town. Not too far from beach.Elevator. Great pastry shops nearby. Charges for everything - wifi, even safe. Only one outlet even in triplet.
Nicely situated to have as a base when visiting Nice and Monaco being just a short walk to Nice Port and 20 minute drive from Monaco. If you are travelling to the hotel by car be sure to reserve a space in the hotel underground car park when you book as parking around the hotel at street level is very overcrowded. All in all a good hotel, well priced and located. Lack of tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
Apogia hotel is located close to the center of Nice, 5 min walk away from the Acropolis Congress Center, nice breakfast, polite and friendly personnel Bad quality of the TV picture. But it's in my room only (#518) as far as I know.
All the staff at the reception were good professionals and very helpful. One was exceptional. My comments were taken into consideration without any question. The bar at night could be more welcoming. Music and some sort of welcome (There was rarely someone at the bar, maybe the receptionist performs both functions?)
The hotel is not far from the train station and close to the tram. The hotel is too expensive for what you get. The hotel is very old, the bathroom was falling apart, the area is far from every interesting thing. Based on my experience the night there should cost less than 60 euros.
The location was good for the conference center, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was adequate. The bathrooms were dated.
Folks, this is a clean no frills hotel with everything you need and nothing you don't. Paid $75 a night. The location is the best there can be, right next to the old town and right next to all the busses by the port, which you'll need to get around the riviera. Rooms are clean, and a decent breakfast is included.
Upon arrival, the concierge came outside to meet us and take our bags from our car, and after we checked in the front desk clerk showed us the hotel and where everything was, to include showing us to our room. The area of the city is perfect and the hotel was very luxurious. I would stay there again! The restaurant in the hotel did not have a very big dinner menu, and it seemed too small.
Excellent service; great location; value for money compared with other hotels and services/quality offered
the staff, the swimming pool... the views and of course the comfort of rooms.
Beautiful Hotel a unigue French experience None
the new room allocated. after complaining. the room booked was so small we had to put our luggage in the toilett.the view was of the streeton to the railway. when we complain and say that we would check out immediatly they inform us that the 2 nights booked through book.com were taken out of our credit card we complain ask to see a manager they finally put us in a lovely room . great facility for this hotel very poor staff for a 4 stars.
The location, value, and staff are terrific. We would highly recommend it for a romantic getaway.
Excelent location, impecable service. One of the great things about the hotel is the pool and gardens. Restaurant and bar a little pricey.
quiet setting, very nice swimming pool area, room facilities were as I expected, reasonably helpful staff my room was very small and in my opinion not adequate for 2 guests, sea view was side seaview and only if you twisted your neck round to see it. Service wasn't as slick as other similiar 4/5 star hotels that I regularly stay in, this relates to waiter service of poolside drinks (none) and I also waited 45mins in lounge and nobody asked me if I wanted tea/ coffee/ drink on my last morning.
Service was very good, with exception of bar staff The bedroom was extremely small
Nice environment, great location and great value of money. The room was a bit small but very clean and with modern decoration. Overall the best of this hotel is the location which is ideal and the value of money comparing to the services and the facilities which they provide.
Lovely room/decor attention to detail. Balcony superb Small room. Party on top floor was very noisy until after 3am. No hot water or air con on last day.
Our room was upgraded for no extra cost I missed the possibility to make tea or coffee in the room
The constant maid service became annoying. Even with the do not disturb sign on the door we were disturbed. The first morning we woke up to the maid walking in to our room. Though we appreciate they are trying to do their job, we were on holiday and felt like we were not allowed to relax in our hotel room.
Excellent location, very central; pleasant hotel and staff small, fairly dark room; small towels in bathroom; high payment to use internet
The location. The air circulation in the room was not very good. Therefore, it smelt sort of rotten (from the humidity).
Was upgraded on arrival to a renovated room. Room was lovely. The location of this hotel is excellent- minutes to the beach, market, etc, beside the shops and has the tram in front. Has the rooftop bar has best views in Nice.
Not a lot Really only a 2 star
Excellent location .Easy to access. Breakfast charge 20EUR/person! plus expensive internet charge. Usually at that room price, internet is free of charge.
i liked the location which is in the heart of the city, close from the old town, shopping area, resturants and cafe, as well as the beach and massena square.
Friendly, helpful staff that all spoke English.
Good beds and nice bathroom. No good chairs in the room.
hotel staff very helpful friendly, quiet place, clean, right in the city center, easy to find shower, cannot use it
Location, architecture and general ambience. No tea or coffee making facilities and no where to buy a hot drink in the hotel after 10:00 pm.
Room is pretty spacious, big window. Small bathroom, design of shower (water splashes everywhere making floor wet), maid forgot to refill our coffee and switch out dirty cups.
Nice room and helpful staff.
convenient place to stay in city centre Room was poor in decor and breakfast was not good!!
great location, near Old Nice and the Promenade.
location lovely atmosphere staff needs a bit more training night staff forgot our wake up call. could have been a problem
graet location hard to find someone to serve at the bar
Nice Lobby, very poor rooms (White wall). The airconditioning was not working. I asked the staff and said that they turn it on at the end of May. My room was so hot that I could not sleep. I argued with them with no success terrible hot nights.
good location, friendly and helpful staff no free WiFi in the rooms
Staff were efficient and most helpful Elevator Ample breakfast items Residential location Walking distance to most areas of interest Lounge/bar/patio I had a room that overlooked the current underground metro construction. On weekends, no issue with noise; however, not the case during the week. This construction will continue for another two years. Either way, it's an unsightly view. The room safe was very small and I needed to request the lock from the front desk, which seemed a bit odd. Considering the construction, the rates are a bit high.
everything was fine apart from your front of house staff we found the attiude of your reception could be alot better
Location Wish the staff were a bit more friendly.
Staff was very helpful and charming, location was convenient and within walking distance to everything Hotel itself was outdated, shabby, and not at all like the pictures advertised on website.
We had a horrible room...we felt like we were in a cell. Couldn't wait to check out. Staff even apologized but, didn't do anything to make me feel better. They said we were in the room that wasn't renovated yet.
Breakfast Design was kind of shabby for thye price level
Breakfast was good, location was very comfortable!
location poor staff behavior, old facilities at any way no 4 star hotel
Great location, very close to the Messena Place and the old town. Restaurants close by. Rooms are a decent size as far as French hotels go and for once the air conditioning actually worked. Staff spoke English and were helpful. We were only at the hotel for a quick overnight stay and didn't arrive until 9:30 pm so we didnt spend a long time in the hotel. Had breakfast in a cafe in the market.
Near to the City, clean room Room was very smal
We were made very welcome and the Hotel was very well placed for the park and shopping. The view was hardly inspiring.
Location was excellent I wouldn't say it was 4 star. It was very basic and tatty in parts.
Location No parking facilities offered to guests, however there is a public parking with preferred rates overnight
I enjoyed the fact that the hotel was very central with easy access to buses and trains.
Location was good and hotel's decor fun and kitschy. Small room.
The availability and efficiency of the staff. The quality of the infra-structure, atmosphere of the hotel and its location. The room bathroom could be equipped with more towel hangers. During breakfast it would be best if the service staff would not start cleaning the room (washing the chairs, etc.) while people are finishing their meal. It disturbs a bit the breakfast experience.
convenient location, not too noisy
Staff is very friendly, breakfast was excellent, hotel in general (colours, furniture...) Room for breakfast is too small for so many people
We got a good deal for the 'Privileged room' and we were given an upgrade to the next level as it was out of season and they had the ability to offer it to us. Was great to have a large room for a few days. Close to the beach and loads of shopping, restaurants, cafes and the stop for the hop on hop off tour bus. They had all the flyers of tourist things at the counter. Wifi was good. No TV reception for english channels.
the friendlyness of the staff at the reception desk The rooms were not cleaned adequately every day, sheets were not changed and soap was not restocked every day. Also, internet access was a rip off pricewise.
The hotel was very central and most of the staff were excellent. One guy was very rude. We only had one key for a shared room.Could not access the iron in evening before dinner and the receptionist did not do his best for us to get it. he was very abrupt saying they did not have one.The hairdryer was antiquated.very old and useless.need replacing.
The hotel is very well located Staff at the reception could have been more helpful
upon checking in we reported the bed linen being dirty, it was noted and told it can only be tended to the next day, the next day the roomstaff still did not change it. I certainly won't stay at this hotel neither recomend it
Super helpful staff
staff was friendly no maintenance in the evening.
Great location - quite close to train station. Clean hotel and had a room with a balcony overlooking Rue Jean Medicin. Friendly staff. Nothing in particular.
best price in offpeak season.
The location to the shopping district. I think the decor and carpeting could be updated.
the ubication was excellent, the hotel is modern and the personal was very nice
The room and balcony
Great location, good reputation. Front desk staff and lounge area very nice/helpful. Knowing this is in a very sexy, happening area, the hotel gets plenty of use, so the tiny details are slightly overlooked. Poor av connection, room more basic than stylized, housekeeping and staff 'a bit' inconvenient or noisy, but overall, good for where the location is. Good experience, not fantastic. Also, wifi should be standard. In-room ethernet (cat5) hookup (iPad, iPhone - won't work), and had to go to lobby, where wifi had to be purchased. Should be amenity. Could connect to McDonalds, which isn't the way to go (or shouldn't be)
great location. on the promenade de anglais... next to the main attractions and close enough to the local market for an easy walk. smoke. but everyone smokes in europe so not a big deal. the casino was a little cheesy, but location more than made up for this.
Size of room. View over the town and sea. Air conditioning not working
Location, location, location and the breakfast!
Was disgusted to find a bedside table full of condoms used and new plus the carrier bag in which they were bought, obviously the room had not been cleaned very well
location Limitation of repair
the location and the friendliness of the room staff (ONLY the room staff, NOT the reception) reception staff friendliness and time to act very poor, pool poor
A great location on the Promenade des Anglais and near to the old town, a good breakfast with stunning view over the Mediterranean though rather expensive, a few design elements, the private beach though expensive too repairing one of the elevators took 3 days, a pity that they charge for internet access (a shame for this category of hotel),
clean, comfortable beds, friendly and helpful staff, excellent location
Internet was not available in the room, there is no elevator in the part of the hotel I stayed - at least they could have offered to carry our baggages to the room.
Well positioned geographically and staff were very good - always polite, courteous and helpful. It did not appear to have bar facilities.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The storage of luggage if waiting for your room or a late flight. The hotel stacks the luggage in the breakfast room which is open to anyone. It would be safer if locked away.
it's amaizing, in the middel of the center of Nice, the best staff and the prise is very good for that location.
the location of the hotel was convenient to both the train station and old town. the accomodations were fairly typical of that level hotel. the staff was friendly and helpful, particularly when i had issues making an international call - the front desk attendant went further than i would have expected to help me make that call. i was a bit surprised when i asked for restaurant recommendations that i was sent all the way to old town. when i asked for something closer, i was advised to go to the restaurants immediately next door, not because of their quality but because it was a "What the heck, they're decent and they are next door" issue. i guess i would appreciate the hotel having a few quality restaurants in the immediate vicinity that they recommend to their guests who don't want to walk all the way to old town for a meal.
Good location, reasonable price Wifi reception was poor
The place where the hotel is situated. (Location). The bed was small and hard.
the staff are helpful and the location is convenient Basic room, but not really expecting too much. Price of Petit-Dejuener was such that I didn't bother to have any.
Nice, comfortable, clean, good central posizion, excellent staff.
Good, central location. If you are given room in the worse part of the hotel (we were) - no wi fi, no lift and zero noise protection - you can easily hear what TV channel your neighbour is watching.
I didn't stay there Their policy of no refunds despite the fact that I tried to cancel the reservation more than 6 months before the scheduled arrival date
I found the hotel to be very central.
location, staff, comfort room was renovated recently, but not the bathroom.
The Best Western Roosevelt is a good 3 star hotel in an excellent location in Nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Our room was had double but when we requested a room with a larger bed our request was granted immediatly. The buffet breakfast is fresh and plentiful and is served until 10.30. After that there is a supply of coffee and pastries available all day. We received a complimentary bottle of wine and a bottle of water on arrival. A nice touch. The reception staff were extremely helpful and were able to answer all our questions and showed concern when we needed help. The manager/owner was also available to answer any queries and made all his guests feel welcome.. We had no problems with this hotel.
nothing was to much bother for the staff you could hear the the other guests in adjoining rooms
A+. Location is perfect, but without the critical other 50%, location is worth little. Timed 5 min walk to the sea [emerge between Negresco and the citadel], Albert I gardens; tram stop, Nice Etoile, Monoprix just "up the street;" short walk to bus station, Old City. Re the other 50%: terrific staff [professional, warm, courteous; always helpful]; so very tidy and clean throughout; room good size/attractive/comfortable; fridge, kettle with coffee/tea/biscuits, AC/heat control, "lingere" wash line; plenty of hot water. Free internet in lobby; umbrellas, maps; weather and popular bus routes posted. Am an AM coffee-only person, but heard no complaints about the hotel's breakfast [aromas very nice]. Only regret was leaving. Perfect 10.
Excellent central location - close to everything. Good value for money Lack of a small barl/lounge area
We loved our triple room, which is very hard to find in Europe. We lost our parking pass and were told that we would have to pay a fine of $100 if we couldn't find it in 3-4 days. This seems unfair because we were not infromed that there would be a big penalty like that when we were given the pass.
The location was good, it was within easy walking distance from the promenade as well as the station.
We found the hotel staff very friendly. The location of hotel very central. Area excellant. Short walking distance to tram/bus stops, promenade and old town. Rue Messena/France, bars and restaurants only a few minutes away. The rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. The free coffee/tea in the reception area was a bonus. We were stuck in Nice for 4 extra nights due to the pension strikes. The staff were very helpful in accomodating us in extending our stay at our original tariff. One of the better smaller hotels we stayed in.
The hotel is in a good location for sightseeing, the staff are friendly and helpful. It would be nice, if they turned on the heating when it is only 8 degrees in Nice.....
Room was spacious, friendly service and good location. I missed shower curtains.
You can hear everything in the corridor. not good service at all. horrible breakfast
Nice adjacent restaurant. Clean room with an bit odd, but original, design. Clearly visible that the hotel was renovated last year. Noise level in the room was a bit high due to the busy road outside.
Very accomodating, not too big and felt personal. The service is exceptional and the spa is a must-do.
great hotel ,great design , nothing
Beautiful design, good location for shopping The air conditioner didn't work well, it was very hot when we arrived at evening time. I called the reception two times, they promised to come and do something but they didn't, so we suffered the very hot room even in autumn time, +17 degree outside. They only fix it in the next morning.
the roses all around the place no service after 12 a.m. :(
Beautiful hotel, good location, very friendly and efficient staff. The hydrotherapy pool is lovely
Great location. Friendly staff. great room. All extars very expensive - eg breakfast or to have a drink in the bar (22 euros for one cognac !)
Food and Hotel were gorgeous. WiFi 7E for 30 mins in reception! No WiFi in bedrooms. Should be free in bedrooms.
The hotel seems over-rated. It gives you the feeling of being old or overused or at least not well taken care of. Beyond the intention of design...some of the fittings seem...cheap... Plus, the idea of having the bathtub in the room could be special, but it is not practical. The lights are also not thought in a practical way...
The Incredible architecture, fantastic staff and superb rooms.
