4.6 Okay
Pros: The bed and the breakfast
Cons: The maître asked us to put up shoes when we went to the hotel restaurant in flipflops. But when the receptionist told us about the restaurant, didn’t told us that we needed to be dressed up, even though the restaurant was only for clients and not open to the public. After this embarrassing moment, we go to our table with all the other clients looking at us (everybody saw how the maître talked to us) and we just see other clients getting out of the restaurant with flip flops!!!!!!! The restaurant was one of the worst experiences! We felt a lot embarrassed! The thing is, nobody told us we needed to wear shoes while in the hotel, was not written in any part (I’ve checked before writing about it) and maybe was a rule just for me and my family! No Wi-Fi connection instructions, and when we asked to the staff nobody helped us and we discovered by ourselves (my dad couldn’t connect because he didn’t have social network) . In the end, to pay the bill... my mom and dad doesn’t speak English or Italian, just Portuguese, so they just have asked to pay. The receptionist asked to get cash because the credit card was not working at the moment. She insisted a lot and when my husband came down to understand the situation, suddenly the machine worked and we could pay with card. Was expensive, the staff was not nice, the Maître was disgusting in his way to talk to us and a place that we chose to relax was the worst part of our trip. They didn’t gave us information about the island, didn’t offer any trip... actually they really didn’t help us in anyway.
7.0 Good
Pros: room size private beach
Cons: The advertised restaurant is only for half-board guests, not alla carte possible. The hotel is far away from the rest of the town or first restaurant. Car needed. Hotel Restoration needed, at least floor coverings in hallways.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is really amazing. We appreciate very much the cleanliness of the room and the frequent replacement of the sheets and the beach towels
Cons: The outside of the building is very old and does not fit with the excellence of the property and the rate paid. It needs an urgent refreshment
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing pool with fabulous views
Cons: Hotel should provide shuttle service to Porto Azzuro. Gym v poor and should be improved
7.5 Good
Pros: The bar in the roof is amazing but close, Gym a disaster
Cons: Beach
6.7 Good
Pros: Very nice place, the “beach was working surprisingly well despite the fact that it was only the bridge that could be reached by a lift.
Cons: The breakfast was not good at all for not Italien peoples that are not used to eat sweets for breakfast. The bread was not good , the choice of cheese very limited, also the choice of fruits surprisingly limited.

Pros: Staff were all very friendly! Very close to the beach!! Great snorkelling! Good Aircon which after a few days in a small tent previously made a massive difference!! Great Value (We paid £1300 + 180 Euros for evening meals, note, it was very last minute booking (1 day in advance!)
Cons: I'm not still there!
4.6 Okay
Pros: The room was not in the main building, absolutely below expectations for a 4 star hotel. The shower was terrible, very small and couldn’t close the door. The common corridor to go to the room was poorly finished
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location, right on a cozy beach with clear water. Large swimming pool with great surroundings. Very friendly staff. We had a room with great view over the beach and bay behind..
Cons: The hotel equipment is sort of 70' & 80's with little investment, but AC was there and it was acceptable.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, very nice pool, full-service beach and bus service to Capoliveri.
Cons: Far away from the main towns
7.1 Good
Pros: The nature around Villagio Turistico and Elba in general. The traditional villages. The short distances with opportunity to be on complete different beaches (depends from weather conditions). The clean wather on beaches.
Cons: Price perfomance ralations. Decreasing food quality in past years every were on Elba.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: View from breakfast cafe was amazing. Restaurant did great food. We went low season which was great as very relaxing. Lots of walks and cycling in the area plus diving with Mandela diving centre was excellent.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing property on a secluded beach with two amazing restaurants and stunning biews! The apartments/bungalows are slightly dated but clean and well maintained. The staff is amazing and the beach and sea are fantastic!! We had an awesome time!
Cons: Property is slightly dated.
6.3 Good
Pros: The village is clean and tidy, the beach is nice and just a short walk from the appartments. The appartments are equiped with the mere basics. We invited friends to dinner and they had to bring their own forks and glasses to eat and drink. The village is nowhere near the town of capolivery so if you dont want to use your car in the evening you have to stay in the village. On the whole all was "ok". I would recomend for a quiet short break. No longer than a week.
Cons: The distance from capolivery and not being able to go for an evening walk

Cons: We liked everything!

Pros: - nice staff - close to beach - good view - comfortable bed
Cons: all good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel. Perfect for anyone with a baby or small children. Delicious food, gorgeous pool and private beach. Play room, swings and small playground, lovely clear warm water. (you will need to buy beach shoes for the pebbles which we did.) Can't recommend this hotel enough we want to go back next year. The restaurant staff were SO kind and friendly to our baby and it made the trip really special.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good, staff friendly, room was clean and and property well maintained.
Cons: Beach could have been a bit cleaner but it was early in the season.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: From the minute you walk into this hotel, the hospitality from all staff immediately jumps out at you. The most polite, helpful and accommodating staff. This is the plus side of staying at an established family run hotel. The beach front location is superb. The pool is outstanding. A great size and spotlessly clean with a handy little poolside hut selling drinks and crisps. Fabulous beachside lunch restaurant with a lovely choice of food for both adults and children. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasty pasta dishes. Rooms are immaculately clean, if maybe a little small. We stayed in a beautiful corner room with small balcony and a side view of the sea. Just beautiful.
Cons: It would be very hard to find something not to like about this property and all its services and amenities. If I was to say anything slightly negative it would be that the room was a little small for 4 of us, although not to point that it was a problem. The cleanliness and view certainly made up for that. Also, the evening restaurant menu was really suitable for my children, but that’s not to say it wouldn’t be suitable for others. There were several youngsters eating in the restaurant every evening.
7.5 Good
Pros: Having a room that looked out onto the sea was fantastic. In the evening, we were able to have our doors open, so we could look out and listen to the waves. The porch made the entire experience. We had a little dinner out there one night and it was one of our favorite experiences of our trip to Italy. We were also able to enjoy some spritzes on their patio, which was nice. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and accommodating.
Cons: Parking was an absolute nightmare. Apparently there was a 2nd parking lot somewhere, but no matter how many times I asked them to explain where it was, it never became clear... they just kept saying "by our tennis court" like I should know where that is. The dinner we had there was not only the worst food we had on our trip to Italy, but some of the worst food I have ever had in my life. The restaurant was WAY too pretentious and expensive to be serving food of that quality. I also worry about their ability to cater to those who are gluten-free, as I picked something out on the menu that was clearly marked as not containing gluten, and told that I could not eat it. There was a miscommunication with what I ordered, and I ended up getting something completely different than what I understood the server to mean. He said "grilled scallops" and what I got was a thin tasteless overcooked slice of beef. They seemed either not to notice or not to care that we barely touched our food. My wife went up for coffee in the morning, but was told she had to sit at a table and wait for a server. She decided to eat breakfast, but even though it was served outside, she was told she was not allowed to eat out there because it hadn't been set up. Who wants to eat inside on a beautiful morning at the beach? When we walked out to the beach, we were interested in getting a drink. We went to the "pool bar" to find that they only serve beer. If we wanted anything else, we had to walk all the way back up to the lobby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A nice hotel with an excellent location on the South slope of Lacona. Very peaceful site with an exceptional view on the bay. All hotel facilities are located in a beautifully arranged and maintained garden. The room was with a shadowed terrace. Very good and diverse breakfast and dinners. Free parking places. Friendly and helpful stuff.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location. Perfect surroundings, hospitality, food and very nice and clean rooms

4.6 Okay
Pros: Our terrace with plastic chairs and table facing the sea had a nice scenery. The room was spacious. The landlady is fairly easy to communicate with and tries to help out as much as she has capacity to.
Cons: It is remarkable that the rooms does not have any kind of ventilation at all. Not even a fan in the ceiling which makes nights difficult for those who likes to breath fresh air, although we were after good service from the landlady provided an optional table fan which did not help very much. The shower cabin is extremely small, made for ultra-slim people. Walking distance to beaches and mini-market is a bit longer than stated. The table tennis is a joke which we therefore had good fun with, dimensions way too large acc standardand with a bumpy concrete surface. Check in starts late beginning at 1600 hrs until 1900 hrs and check out already at 0930 am, although we had permission to stay until 1000 am. Beware of extra costs; rental of bed linen at EUR 20/pp and mandatory cleaning cost at EUR 55,-. Do not forget to bring all you need as the kitchen utensils are down to rock bottom minimum; only plates, cups, cutlery, some pots / pans and a mocca brewer are included, nothing else. Toilet paper is limited to one roll per stay…. It is a pity that the large garden is not taken care of, with such a location a few improvements here and there would have made it a very nice place. For the amount we paid we would have expected more.

Cons: none
5.4 Okay
Pros: the room was big with plenty of room for suitcases. very nice with a balcony
Cons: very very hard beds. the breakfast had either cold eggs or no eggs and very poor bread. we visited the restaurant once - it was very expensive and the food was not what what we expected for a vacation in Italy. The service was not good - we had to wait very long for our food and even had to ask for it. we had especially choosen this hotel as it had a restaurant so we didn't had to drive out for dinner. very disapointed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff made a big effort to make us feel welcome. We enjoyed our stay. Pool was lovely and view was amazing. Food at restaurant was really nice.l
Cons: We were staying in Capiliveri and it was a bit out of town.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Booked in for 3 night stay at half an hour's notice - really impressed with the accommodation, the staff, the swimming pool area. Couldn't have been better. But some people might not be happy with the location unless you mind driving everywhere - the nearest beach which is a 6 minute walk is not nice - it's not a sunbathing beach. The walk up to Capoliveri is great, but you have to really not mind steep hills. It's a 15 min drive North to Portoferrio and easy access to most of the Island.
Cons: The nearest beach is not a sunbathing/swimming beach. Would need to go in the car to find a nice beach.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very clean great swimmingpool Friendly staff
Cons: Needs some TLC and renovation
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is great and the family restaurant is delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel da Pilade was perfect for our family. The location was easy to get to from when we go off the ferry at Portoferraio. The hotel gave is a discount code for the ferry ticket online. Plenty of onsite parking and easy. Being close to Porto Azzurro and Capoliveri was great! We had a one room apartment with a full bath and kitchen. The patio was perfect for sunbathing and eating meals outside enjoying the beautiful views, if you cook for yourself. Swimming pool was close by and enjoyable. We stayed 5 nights. Breakfast was included and was nice buffet every morning. We cooked a few our of meals as the kitchen had everything you needed. We bought fresh vegetables and fruits from the vegetable stand we passed on the way from Portoferraio. There is is grocery nearby in Porto Azzurro (closed on Sunday). We enjoyed the hotel restaurant 2 nights. They have wonderful menu and we enjoyed their steaks offerings and yummy pasta dishes. My son is gluten free and they had gluten free pasta for him and even a gluten free dessert that was delicious. Giulia, at the restaurant and reception, speaks perfect English and gave us amazing information on what to do on the island during our stay. You do need a bike or a car.
Cons: That we couldn't stay longer.

Cons: Hotel should provide shuttle service to Porto Azzuro. Gym v poor and should be improved
7.5 Good

Cons: Beach
6.7 Good
Pros: Very nice place, the “beach was working surprisingly well despite the fact that it was only the bridge that could be reached by a lift.
Cons: The breakfast was not good at all for not Italien peoples that are not used to eat sweets for breakfast. The bread was not good , the choice of cheese very limited, also the choice of fruits surprisingly limited.
