Dining room was super efficiently run by very warm and friendly staff.
Very relaxing stay with excellent facilities & good evening entertainment No
A good value for money hotel. Great location, close to the Cairngorms with good facilities and nice staff.
Very family orientated. Plenty to do for the kids
The staff were very customer focussed. The service and value for money was extremely good. For guests with no family, they should be aware of the huge number of kids!!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Also plenty of things to do and see in both the hotel and local area. When we booked the hotel online, ( Not the Official Hilton website ), we filled in the details for our children (14 + 12 ) for a family suite, but when checking in they were not included in the booking ! The staff however sorted this out there and then.
The room with bunk beds was really too small for two big boys.
The best thing was the friendliness of the staff. Also the fact that it was family friendly made a big difference.Unfortunately these were the only 2 positives 1. Bathroom dirty-mold on tiles.2. Sink blocked-had to get a plumber to fix it and only just, the problem recurred next day. 3. Children's disco music too loud for children's ears!! DJ would not listen to parents' complaints. Overall 6/10
that it was close to the Cairngorms and the ski hire was in the grounds of the hotel. The hotel is very poor. Really should not be called a Hilton. Food was very poor quality, even the a la carte menu was awful, mass produced and re heated. The corridors and rooms smelt like they hadn't been hoovered in years. Definately not value for money. Would not recommend to anyone and would not stay again.
I think probably the thing I liked best about the hotel was the excellent location of the resort and in particular the close proximity of the train station in Aviemore. We had considered going to the Hilton at Coylumbridge but when I happened on the Aviemore Highland resort we chose that instead. Also I liked the extreme efficiency of the reception and check in staff and everything was explained clearly and concisely. Finally, the resort really suited us as all the facilities were nearby to the hotel and we even had a direct link from our hotel in to the leisure complex to save us getting cold! In general the experience was quite unique and thoroughly enjoyable. I would definitely return at a future date. If I have one thing to report it was that on the Saturday night we experienced noise coming from the next room which at first was quite loud but we took this upon ourselves to sort out this problem and eventually the party in question calmed down
Registration easy and polite, some difficulty with the room numbers, three is fine while four is a problem!!. Dining room staff excellent. No problems.
The location was ideal for our stay in the area Overpriced, the room was not 4* by any standard, queued everyday for breakfast yet room half empty,
Very big and lots to do. Very nice staff. Very noisy rooms. You'll jump up from your bed if your neighbour closes his door.
position that about it For luxury rooms, I found them under standard, expensive for what they were and food over priced.
Evening meal was very good but breakfast was a lower standard
Its central location to Aviemore and the activities that you could undertaken in the surrounding area Unable to request a late check out
The Room was large and extremely well furnished
I was upgraded to a chalet which was great. The resort is clean tidy and family friendly. As we were on a short stay we did not use the facilities of the hotel but all looked good. I would consider going back with my family in the future. Aviemore is a fantastic base for touring the surrounding area. In the upgraded chalet the main TV did not work as the "digi box" was missing. The other TVs worked OK.The breakfast was not that great, the food was poorly presented, (dried out baked beans, cold eggs and untidy coffee and fruit juice areas).
I went as a parent with three children and i found the location and facilities excellent I found the room was small and a bit shabby
The services for the children and the staff were great. We took advantage of the cinema pool and the inflatable softplay/ disco- our 4 year old had a great time. We were a little upset at the placing of our room-behind tesco loading area-we found this very noisy in the evenings as it was too warm to sleep with windows closed. We also came back one day to find the maid had been in and made our beds but left our room door open. We did however have a lovely time and had we been staying longer than 2 nights we probably would have aksed to move rooms etc. This hasnt put us off coming back we just put it down to experience.
Variety of activites for all ages
The outdoor children's play area, swimming pool.
Leisure facilities excellent, kids loved the pool. Only on internet booking as never asked whether children were with you and could not book a cot online, nevertheless the excellent staff arranged for one straight away.
Facilities were very good for keeping a family entertained. The Academy was not welcoming. The reception area was dark, hall way was worn, doors needed painted and i felt our family was one of the few families occupying an empty hotel. I would not return to this part in a hurry!
facilities like play area for children and swimming pool poor , untidy rooms and not value for the money I spend.Staff are arrogant or I would say misinformed, unfriendly.. I would not suggest this hotel to any..
Nice working staff No restaurant, Couldn't get in the Hotel bar, because only people with red wrist bands were allowed in from the Harley Davidson group.
Leisure facilities are excellent. Shower in bedroom leaked through to the bathroom floor. Last 2 stays in different rooms I've had the same problem.
All Foreign staff were excellent. Excellent facilities. The British girls working at the swimming pool were very unhelpful, bordering on down right rude. I did consider making a complaint about them. The booking sight did not have enough photos.
Beautiful surroundings and lovely hotel, lovely stripped wooden floors in bar and restaurant with lovely open fire. Very comfortable. I liked the deserts but didn't think the main course (I had salmon and my husband had the Indian spiced chicken) was worth the amount of money they charged.
helpful staff room was rather on the small side for a 5 day stay, could have alloctated a room with enough space to unpack 5 days clothes and suitcase storage
the exterior of the building was very nice and quaint and the location was great the staff was not helpful and bordered on rude. the room was old and deteriorating. service was poor. very expensive given the quality of the hotel. should be rated with 2 stars, not 4
friendliness of staff, quality of food, cleanliness of room, total peace.
the bed's are very large and comfitable, location no lift,
everything except.. the sloping ceiling caused me a nasty bang on the head! My fault but hard lesson!
View from room. Evening meal in restuarant was over-priced and of a poor standard. Room was basic and small, out-dated in decor, and not worth the money.
Stayed in a Deluxe Room, but would not class it as that. Room size was ok but no better than a Standard Room. Bed was excellent but very poor shower. Shower was a "trickle", breakfast was average and eating arrangements were disjointed.
Lack of in-room internet.
Nice friendly hotel with a good mix of people running it. Bedroom excellent. Two of the three dining areas were busy and cosy. No real complaints.
This is a typical old fashioned Scottish hotel and very welcoming No complaints apart from 3feet of snow and almost not making is back home. Nothing to do with hotel.
The food was excellent as were the staff. We ended up staying two nights instead of one.The bed also very comfortable after a days walking in the hills.Very good value for money.
The Hotel has character, staff are superb and the bar and restaurant has a great atmostphere. This time we had a very small room.
Good wholesome food in cosy surroundings, friendly staff room was a bit hot and could have been a bit smarter.
The staff were pleasant and eficient. The hotel has set the right balance beteen being a local resource and looking after visitors. The food was local and wholesome and tasty. Overall the hotel was good value for money and the stay was very enjoyable. Not a lot. the bright winking slot machine in the main bar is out of place.
The food was excellent
The staff were friendly and it was a relaxing environment to stay in.
Hotel staff very friendly, restaurant serves lovely meals , good ambiance.
close to amenities
Food, Friendlyness of staff No
The hotel was clean, convenient and nicely positioned the bed was particularly firm
The food was outstanding as was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The mood was relaxed and cared for. A most enjoyable break. The bathroom was not up to the excellent standard of everything else. The shower did not work very well and the flow of water was poor.
the hotel is in a nice location ,the lounge was nice ,and the dining room also. the staff were nice the room was very old fashioned, the shower was over the bath, with no rubber mat, very slippery !and no pressure in the shower head, there was no lights on outside the front door,or on the seating area outside the lounge at night , with nettles growing in the flower pots! there was no vegertarian meals on the dinner menu, had to ask for something to be made up.Not worth paying extra for superior room upgrade!
The fact that dogs were allowed
Deirdre and I like the hotel very much, we enjoyed ourselves there and also celebrate our wedding anniversary, (39 years) a life sentences, on the day we arrived there, 23th October 2010. We couldn't find fault we it,
The food was just yummy and the staff were wonderful. We stayed in the bothy across from the main hotel and the room was comfortable and cosy. We enjoyed having our own door which opened out onto the lawn. Great for the dog. We will try our best to come back as soon as possible. Nothing.
Lovely Lounge with a log fire Bedroom a bit disappointing for a 4 Star hotel
location very limited menu choice of 4 items on the Monday choice of only 2 items on the Wednesday Not good enough for fine dining@£30 per head
Beauitiful old building with many original features Room was small with only basic facilities, bathroom needed updating
Quiet and peacefull Dinner plates were not hot at times
The bathroom was particularly well equipped.
Bathroom Seperate from Room not a good Idea. No privacy to Bathroom.
Extremely welcoming, warm, relaxing. Beautiful rooms, exceptional use of space and fittings in en suite bathroom. Very considerate landlady. Highly highly recommended.
Excellent breakfast; engaging and helpful hostess
Excellent B&B; very nice room (perfect for family with kids); wonderful breakfast; good value Bigger sign pointing to B&B (hard to find, esp. at night)
Good sized room with good facilities and shower, Excellent breakfast None really
Warm and friendly welcome. Very clean and comfortable. Our hosts were extreamly helpful. No chairs in the bedroom. Need a handrail at the main entrance for physically limited people.
Lovely area. Very friendly hosts. Two weeks touring Scotland. Hotel and B and B's. This was the most expensive.
Val, the proprietor was a fund of local knowledge and help. She gave good recommendations on which local businesses gave good value for money. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for her.
The room was excellent and the bathroom was a five stars one. Nothing.
