Good 7.5
Pros: Nice place very close to Mkoani harbor. Probably the cheapest hotel on the island. Very nice rooftop terrace with view on the sunset over the see. The food was very good, but we didnot have time for breakfast. Thanks !
Good 7.5
Pros: Nice staff really helpful
Cons: The hotel is in the south, close to the ferry, but very far from the beautiful beaches of the north
Good 7.9
Pros: We liked being met at the port, the property was in a marvellous location at the edge of the sea overlooking the port...customer service was pleasant.......a really unsophisticated village on the edge of a small untouristy but friendly island.
Cons: The charges for extras were greedy, taxi fares, added cost for getting boat tickets, ( 50% added cost) very expensive but very simple meal in the evening...they add a large margin for foreigners, which puts a downer on the pleasure and the excitement of being there. I feel that greed gets the better people here, and dont think i will return.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: very good breakfast nice and friendly staff quiet and beautiful view on the mangrove and beach from the room
Excellent 9.2
Pros: A very simple lodge with a great location and price/quality for the beautiful island of Pemba, still untouched! Dennis organizes all the tours you want to do for a good price, accompanied by the hotel's own staff. The rooms are very simple and clean. It has a lovely terrace overlooking the beach and harbor, where you can enjoy the village life and the sunset. The staff are welcoming and very professional. The food cooked by Dennis is tasty and comes in large portions. Water, coffee and tea are for free. We thank all the team for the good stay we had.
Cons: Tip: improving some details on materials and decor would make this accommodation top.
Okay 5.4
Pros: The location was beautiful and the staff were friendly and helpful
Cons: The place looked neglected the food below avrage and very expensive. The owner was very forceful helpful until we realised he ripped us off.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: We felt very welcome, we could check in in the early morning and got breakfast even though we had not spent the night there. The food was absolutely deliciuos and the view from the balcony great. We also did a trip to Misano highland, which we can highly recommend. Overall, we really liked our stay on Pemba.
Cons: Room rates are a bit steep and we could often hear the owner (who was very nice to us) yelling at his employees.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The staff and owner Dennis really made us feel welcome! The food was great and we had an exciting trip to Misali island!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: We enjoyed the amazing terrace with the sunset on the sea, the great food we had for much convenient price, the cleanliness of our room and the warm welcome from the staff.
Cons: Only improvement I could suggest could be to do sume fumigation to kill some of the mosquitoes, but rooms and beds hace mosquito nets and everything was really nice.

Good 7.9
Pros: Friendly staff, tasty dinners.
Good 6.7
Pros: The staff were friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect for me - in walking distance of the centre of Chake Chake but in a rural location. The evening meals were fine.
Cons: No advance warning that payment expected in cash. Breakfasts limited. Service of evening meal sometimes slow.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Comfortably located just off the main thoroughfare in Chake Chake. In walking distance of said main street, public transport, market, shops etc. Very clean sheets, towels etc. Excellent aircon, mosquito net etc. Simple but sufficient bathroom. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. On-site restaurant, which is excellent as Chake Chake did not seem to offer very many other options. Be advised that accommodation and transport on Pemba are not cheap. I would definitely stay here again.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Nice and friendly staff. Very good food. Not far away from the airport. Swimming pool outside.
Cons: Broken shower.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved my stay - the staff were all friendly, welcoming and so accommodating, and the manager Sushant is really lovely. Everyone went above and beyond to give good service, and I was treated to a free meal one evening and also given a free room upgrade. There was plenty of super hot water, A/C worked well, tea and coffee in the room, huge comfy bed and a good TV. There is also a pool which I sadly didn't try but looks lovely. All in all loved everything about my stay and hope I can go back soon. Generally the guests are business guests as Pemba isn't a tourist destination but I can't recommend it enough for tourists as well - the island is absolutely stunning, the people are friendly and pace of life is nicer than zanzibar. Beautiful beaches, beautiful forests and amazing diving, it's such a great place to go.
Cons: Nothing
Good 7.5
Pros: Fairly central to Chake Chake for the purpose of my visit. Room and public spaces clean, food in restaurant good. Staff helpful and friendly.

Okay 5.0
Pros: It is right on the beach offering a great view of the sea. This is refreshing to me.
Cons: Breakfast service was horrible with the service teamlooking confused all time.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: lovely staff, friendly service and very helpful
Cons: location next to an oil refinery was less appealing (visually) - there was no problem apart from the aesthetics.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Amazing location - you step out of your room on to a private beach. They also have a nice terrace on the water where you can have food. Restaurant serves decent food, staff was nice and helpful.
Cons: Could have been cleaner, e.g. The tablecloths were stained.
Good 7.5
Pros: Bungalows next to the sea Room OK
Cons: Wooden chairs very hard Lots of mosquitoes (they provide bednet)
Good 6.7
Pros: Beautiful beach just in front of the bungallow with sunset on Misali.
Cons: Excursion to Misali is expensive just to go to the island, and you might think it is easy to book for a scuba diving session but the hotel does not have it's own PADI school so you have to pay extra fees for boat trip to meet PADI instructor on Misali.
Good 6.3
Pros: Location is pretty nice on the edge of the mangroves and the rooms all face onto the sea. The seating platform on the creek is a nice spot to watch the boats. A pleasant place and worked well for me on business for one night.
Cons: Room was a bit too squashed with the desk. The mosquito net was quite challenging to tuck in around the bed and there are a lot of mosquitos, but considering the rains and the mangroves, not entirely surprising.
Good 7.5
Pros: The hotel has a strategic position for tours to various small islands. The location is peaceful, the restaurant adeguate and the staff discrete.
Cons: The rooms (we stayed in the bungalows facing the beach) are really small!

Okay 4.2
Cons: As tourist coming to wete first time i expect some information about things to do, touroperators, places to eat. For sure there is not even a restaurant where you can eat as munzungu. They were not ready to prepare supper with notice at 15:00. Because the chef is gone. There was not wifi for 1.5 days. So it was not even possible, to organise your trip on your own. With luck i made the most out of pemba. What its famous for. There other people i met on the way. But that has noving to do with theese guys. They just dont care!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Thousands of flying foxes every evening right above you! About the propety at all, you have to understand, that you are in Africa, and Pemba is the distant part of this country. Yes, you can have another room for $35 in another countries. But it is locality! It is clean, comphortable place, with a good air-conditioner. The owner is pleasant. I attach a picture here. I found this book at the reception. It speaks about all.
Good 6.7
Pros: Hotels choices in Wete are limited. The Grand lodge is the best there is. Though I found it expensive this applies to all hotels in Pemba. The place was extremely clean and hd a homely feel. The staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok for our one day stay..chapati, eggs, tea and fruit.
Cons: The internet was terrible but this is not the lodge's fault. it was also terrible on my two local lines so my conclusion was the area generally has poor internet. maybe the lodge can explore other reliable suppliers. Apart from that, cannot complain much about anything.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Solicitous host; clear attempt to please us. Tours that were arranged. Food was fine. Balcony was great for watching Flying Foxes.
