Pros: Very quiet environment and a nicely refurbished old building with clean and spacious rooms. The host is helpful and easy to communicate with. Breakfast was fresh and very nice.

Pros: The place is absolutely fabulous, an old elegant manor in the village of Ay, surrounded by hilly champagne vineyards…. The room (more like an apartment…) was spacious and comfortable, with a nice antique feeling but all the modern comforts. The hosts were helpful and friendly, and breakfast was super. We also appreciated to be able to park inside the property.
Cons: Wish we had stayed longer

Pros: The owners/hosts are some of the most genuine and lovely people you could ever ask to interact with at a B&B! We will most certainly return to Epernay and stay again at Au Jeu de Paume!
Cons: Everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect from start to finish. The host’s attention to detail was superb. Would definitely recommend for a special treat.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful decor, inside and out. Great to have tea making facilities all day long. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was spectacular with fresh juice, eggs, yogurt, bread and jam, etc., etc. Private parking inside. A great antique shop too where we got a few things. We got a lovely bottle of champagne on arrival too - and the owners were welcoming and pleasant.
Cons: Would have been nice to have more privacy in the bathroom (the door is see-through) and some ability to take a shower without holding the shower handle. The antique bathtub is pretty, but difficult to manage if you just want a shower. (A very small thing but the toothbrush cup is chipped and glued back together - probably best to replace.) Would have been nice to have more products in the bathroom (cotton balls for example or ear swabs).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hosts - central location - quiet - secure off street parking - very clean rooms - excellent breakfast. I’m a hotelier so very picky and this B&B exceeded my expectations!

Featured amenities include multilingual staff, microwave in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cute interior decoration, though lacking privacy if you’re travelling as friends. Amazing brunch.
Cons: The house champagne wasn’t great and the area didn’t have a lot of variety in restaurants.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very comfortable, and had secure parking meaning we didn't worry about leaving things in the car. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was big. It was lovely having Clarins soap etc. Everyone was very friendly, and it was nice having access to the honesty bar. Breakfast was good.
Cons: The aircon was very noisy, so I couldn't sleep with it on. And unfortunately Ay has little to offer - one restaurant that was somewhat over-priced and that's it. It appears to be the same for so many French villages, even in a touristy place like Champagne, and so it doesn't encourage one to stay in the area. While I'd recommend Champagne Domaine Sacret, I wouldn't recommend bothering with the area: Champagne felt very over-rated.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A newly converted, large room in a town centre residence. Everything about the place was luxurious, even to the Clarins toiletries in the shower-room. Our host was delightful, and provided a very professional wine tasting for guests shortly after we arrived. Breakfast was delicious, with many local products.
Cons: The whole experience was so luxurious and welcoming that it would be inappropriate to look fro make any criticism.

Cons: Nothing you could dislike.

Pros: Quiet comfortable location and quickly became part if 'the village'. Loved staying at a Champagne house with the honor system for paying so we were able to help ourselves to the champagne at any time. Location allowed walking access to many excellent champagne houses.

Pros: We are young & don't have huge amounts of money, so at first Air B&B seemed like the better option. But the location kept us looking at it. However, having stayed there and opted for the dinner, this is a place which goes above & beyond. Very laid back with an emphasis on enjoying the most simple and profoundly important act of being in France & in particular being in Champagne. Gracious & accommodating hosts who helped us find all that we needed (including a nice r
Cons: This is an amazing place. If you don't like it, it's likely you should have stuck to Paris / some awful, gilded, Disney world of a hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Laure was an excellent host. She made me feel like we were old friends the minute we met. The horse room was large and comfortable. The bathroom sparkling. After being out all day, I didn’t want a restaurant dinner so she prepared a perfect one for me. Breakfast was also awesome. Finally, she went out of her way to locate a rental car and then drove me to the station. Vraiment merci beaucoup!

Pros: The room had a separate sitting area that was nice, the bed was super comfy and the breakfast was excellent! Breakfast included a home made berry and almond coffee cake, great coffee, egg, ham, cheese, baguette, jams that tasted like just picked fruit, local honey and fresh squash orange juice! There was street parking available and it was a 5 minute walk to the town center. This was the perfect place for us. Laure was also very helpful with places to visit and especially knowledgeable about which champagne houses to visit. Laure also welcomed us with an aperitif before we went to dinner in the little courtyard—more delicious homemade bites and a great glass of local champagne. We chatted with the other couple staying at the B& B and we enjoyed the company and champagne so much that we were able to purchase a bottle to share. Loved, loved, loved this place!
Cons: The toilette area was a little small, but was fine for us.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stay with the champagne of hosts! I sincerely cannot believe how fabulous my hosts were. It was as if I were visiting old friends. They truly took care of me beyond my expectations! It is clear that they are hosts because they love being hosts! I went to Epernay because of the champagne, but I will go back there again just to stay with the hosts! The accomodations are absolutely top-rate. Extremely comfortable, clean, and lovely. The showers, the bed, the garden, it is just as it is pictured on the website, but even better in person! I stayed for 4 nights and I wish I could have stayed longer! They also have a darling welcoming dog, a Coton de Tulear, who I fell in love with. The location is perfect too. Just a quick walk, and I mean quick, into town. I have stayed at other B & B's that were just too far away from town, but this one was about an 8 min walk into the heart of town. Anyone could walk it -- no major hills. It is lovely little stroll! Go visit this place if you want to stay with wonderful hosts in a perfect little place! If you want an impersonal experience, go to a hotel : )

Pros: The house is beautiful, old and chateau-like, and the rooms newly renovated, comfortable and clean. Parking is available right in front of the building. The grounds are great - there is a little pond and a great view into the countryside. Since there is no restaurant (which could be a minus to some) we just brought a dinner and had a picnic with a view and some champagne we were able to buy at the hotel! It was delicious and very reasonably priced (12-32€) so this was a huge plus for us. The host was very welcoming and enthusiastic, and if you want to do any activities she will be able to direct you no problem! Breakfast was perfectly adequate with all kinds of things available (yogurt, eggs, croissants, baguettes, saucissons, cheeses, etc.) so you won't go hungry, either.

Pros: Everything: the location is amazing between the vineyards and overlooking a luscious garden. It was a great starting point for fabulous bike rides. We left with a box full of champagne and the intention to return soon!
Cons: A minor discomfort was absence of a shower curtain and a point to attach the shower head.

Pros: We absolutely loved staying at Maison d'hôtes La Poterne. It was a lovely property, with beautiful furnishings, warm hospitality and very central to Epernay.
Cons: Our only negative complaint was that the shower made a weird loud noise due to the hot water pump, but wasn't really an issue!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Charlotte is a charming host, very helpful, and breakfast was by far he best we have had in France.
Cons: We would have benefitted from a fan in our room during the night as it was really hot while we were in there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Authentic French house and just delightful place to stay. Location was perfect to see and discover Épernay.
Cons: WiFi was slow but actually was perfect to get off our phones and relax properly.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in Epernay - walking distance into the town centre and the Avenue de Champagne. Beautiful to sit in the back garden eating breakfast in perfect summer temperatures. Charlotte, the host, was a wealth of information about local restaurants, champagne houses, etc, and spoke perfect English which was great for us (being Australian.)
Cons: There wasn't really anything we didn't like. There isn't a lot of parking around but we were lucky to get a free street park just near the property for the 3 days we were there. We were in a room on the third floor and had a couple of very heavy suitcases to lug up those, but that's the nature of old houses.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful French house with fantastic breakfast and lovely host Charlotte
Cons: We were there on warmer days, will be nice to have a fan in the room.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, exceptional staff, and perfect location.
Cons: No complaints
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Luxury in the heart of champagne! We had planned to finish our road trip with a champagne tasting tour and this hotel did not disappoint as our base. In fact the wine tasting that was included in the hotel package was just fabulous. The staff were delightful and breakfast was set in a beautiful dining room and made the whole intimate experience complete. The top room we had was roomy and light with a special cosy feel to it. The shower was great. We would struggle to fault this hotel and I would recommend to anyone wanting an up market base for indulging in champagne tasting.
Cons: Only little things that don’t matter! No lift to help with heavy bags, low ceilings in the attic rooms and no restaurant. As I say none of this mattered much, we found two super restaurants 5 mins walk away called Symbiose and la grillade gourmande

Pros: Absolutely fabulous village location with views overlooking the vineyards to Moussy and Pierry. A few minutes drive to the supermarket in Pierry, as well as places to eat such as Buffalo Grill etc. Loads of small Champagne houses are nearby. Guillame was a fantastic host always around to help. The champagne produced by his cousin was lovely and I would recommend both the Blanc De Blanc and Rose. Breakfast was continental as you would expect, with lovely croissants and fresh bread, coffee cheese and yoghurt. Will return of available when we come back next year.

However our host was very helpful ordering taxis etc She did everything she could to help in a difficult situation, She offered us champagne on arrival and offered a tour of her cellars, which we weren't able to accept this occasion but we would love to return to enjoy the experience more. The breakfast offered was excellent.
Cons: The towels were well used and rather scratchy.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: This was a lovely chamber d'hote in the middle of the champagne region. We were given a warm welcome as well as a glass of their own bubbly. The owner recommended a lovely restaurant nearby and also rang them to book us a table. The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed a very nice breakfast which included some delicious champagne cake. We would definitely stay there again.
Cons: if we had known we could have booked an evening meal there
7.5 Good
Pros: The owner is lovely. She is happy to share her knowledge of the region and champagne.
Cons: The bed was little too bouncy. Shower was ver small. The rooms are under the roof and there is no air conditioning.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything, fantastic peaceful sleep, naturally cool and very quiet. Excellent room with comfortable bed and great shower. Breakfast good with good selection of local produce and a glass of champagne. We arrived very late due to traffic and all was locked up but after speaking with a neighbour the owner came out and greeted us, absolutely fantastic and very accommodating.
Cons: The location was in a delightful village some way out but hard to find as very rural.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcome champagne drink, free coffee tea, visit to their champagne making area, owner extremely hospitable, good breakfast and very clean.
Cons: no meals other than breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed, great location, lovely hosts!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location to stay if you like small towns. We loved the care Florence took to show us around the champagne making facility. The breakfasts were beautiful! The room was cosy and very clean and the owner very friendly.
Cons: Vauciennes has no shops or places to eat, so you need to drive 3-5 km for a restaurant and around 5-7 km to a supermarket. This is not necessarily a negative, but you need to be aware of it. It would have been nice to have somewhere to sit outside to drink a glass of wine or picknick. There was no real garden for guests and the attic with the 4 guest rooms does not have any great windows to enjoy a view. The wifi does not work upstairs in the rooms or common area.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice chatelaine..booked restos etc. It's a good cheap-ish stop if you're overnight before the tunnel in pleasantly decorated comfortable room
Cons: Ay is a very weird place - it's an Art Deco industrial estate for producing Champagne which is fine but the hotel is stuck in the middle of all this and Ay is completely dead at night - not in the sense of no nightclubs or "vibrant" bars - it's just stone dead, no brasserie, no resto, no bar, rien...so you have to drive into Epernay and worry a bit about the bottle the two of you drink over dinner. Anyway, stuff it... I had another glass and and a cognac before driving back..result....
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel in a quiet part of this quiet town. Nice pool and comfortable room.
Cons: Breakfast is massively overpriced . 16 Euros for a continental selection is just too much.

Cons: Everything was fine. Nothing to criticize.

Pros: The staff were warm and welcoming, and very attentive and helpful during our stay. The hotel is wonderfully located in the middle of the Champagne region and the town of Ay, and is full of charm. We had a family room, with adjoining room, and it was perfect for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was quiet, I think all the Champagne tours take place Monday to Thursday and we stayed on a Saturday. Breakfast was good and varied. Room was brilliant for a family of 4 (Family Suite) with a separate room with 2 singles beds and TV for the kids. Pool was an added bonus after a long hot drive from Switzerland.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We paid for Breakfast if that is considered an extra service for “bed and breakfast”! It was a lovely old building with a lift, A/C and a nice bathroom. Our group enjoyed the offering at breakfast.
Cons: We wish we had been told that the only place in the town open for food on a Sunday would not accept us without a reservation....we then had to retrieve the car and drive from village to village to Epernay to find anywhere open with one of our party who was quite frail.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old Champagne house that has been renovated.
Cons: There was no bar facilities other than the mini bar with one bottle of beer.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful accomodation and has everything you need. Enjoyed the hot tub and lounging in the garden. When we arrived we were offered champagne from their sons vineyard. Was very lovely! Their English isn't good but so much better than my french haha. Google translate was helpful! They were very accommodating however they sat with us for breakfast which we found a little awkward being watched eating (they meant well) Overall I would reccomend here to anyone! It's beautiful and peaceful.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: our hosts were very welcoming & friendly, we were given a lovely glass of champagne on our arrival & a tour of their sons champagne house was arranged at short notice. The accommodation was quirky and comfortable we would definitely recommend the champagne & accommodation
9.3 Excellent
Pros: An excellent personal service, quaint and beautiful garden for our use, a vast knowledge of champagne and the region.
Cons: It's being picky, but the bathroom was a little small... But that was expected in the accommodation. You will need a car to get around for shopping and visiting, although it is possible to visit things on foot, it is limited.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sylvette and Patrice are very friendly and helpful. The garden is beautiful. WiFi works great.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hospitality in a lovely quiet village in the heart of the vineyards.
Cons: The price was a little on the high side
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A quirky place to stay. Compact but had everything we needed. Clean and comfortable. Hot tub was lovely after a long journey and super friendly host and hostess.
Cons: Not sure about the black toilet paper. A bit too quirky?!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners were simply lovely and welcoming. We were greeted with a drink of champagne, and what’s more they joined us. Our French is awful and their English minimal but through Google translator we got along fine. They then allowed us to finish the bottle alone when sat in the hot-tub. In the morning we were given a tour of the champagne cellar and this was also lovely. We ended up with three generations of the family with us. We look forward to returning, they were simply the nicest hosts during our trip to France!
Cons: Unfair to say anything really, the room and bathroom are not huge but we knew that when we booked. If you want oppulant comfort then don’t book but if you want to stay in a delightful painted caravan with the use of a hot tub then give it a try!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners were superfriendly. A little apero when we arrived, a nice talk with them about the region. Loves it!
Cons: There was a lot of decoration in the room, and not to much space to put you toiletries.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was terrific for visiting family owned or run houses of champagne. It was all so quiet and very restful the jacuzzi was outstanding. The caravan was very private and unique. the grounds were very pretty the view from the porch was nice and the use of the kitchen facilities was also terrific. Our hosts Patrice and Sylvette were ideal for B&B very warm enthusiastic and interested in our travels and in communicating with our broken French and their English. We would love to stay here again and spend all our time in Champagne.
Cons: Our suitcases were on the floor and we would have liked a folding luggage rack.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming quirky açommadation, small but well planned. Lovely terrace for picnics and enjoy in a glass or more. Lovely hosts, good French breakfast. Second visit did not disappoint
Cons: I would find a larger fridge useful as there are no restaurants nearby, to keep picnic food and wine chilled

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very kind welcome and Service... (think her name was Agnes) Beautiful suite, lovely bathroom... Nice pool.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location on the Avenue de Champagne, pool, very friendly staff and beautiful house
Cons: we had to pay 15 euros extra for the parking, which is a bit ridiculous considering the category of hotel, and the price of the stay
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: This was an extremely overpriced and poor hotel
Cons: This was in no way a 5 star accommodation. It is significantly overpriced - you have to pay for car parking and for breakfast. Cleanliness was exceptionally poor; the facilities are lacking with no food available during the day or evening and the pool area and bar area were extremely poor. I would also not recommend a stay in Epernay! Poor facilities and unwelcoming place

Pros: Location was excellent - everything within walking distance. Good breakfast. Room very comfortable and spacious.
Cons: Bar area had little atmosphere. No views out of many windows.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: They had a list of recommended restaurants unfortunately the Sardignie seemed to have an issue with individuals from the UK [probably Brexit related] and we were treated very pooorly by the management
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel was a spot on! The Champagne avenue was right around the corner. One can also take a airballoon ride in the park next to the hotel. Pieces of art were all over the hotels walls and the staff was more than helpful. Also, the morning omelettes were a pure enjoyment. The room was spacious and well equipped. I would definately recommend this hotel to everyone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location
Cons: We were not made aware when we made the booking that the Tour De France was passing through on the night we had booked.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: No radiator to dry things in room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lovely room, nice breakfast, good on street parking. Great location to explore Epernay.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was perfect for exploring the Avenue de Champagne, and the room was well air conditioned and quiet, with a comfortable bed and modern bathroom.
Cons: The hotel has no facilities other than a bar and the provision of breakfast (which seemed expensive so we didn't bother). We didn't feel it was great value for money, but we are more used to the Logis type of hotels when travelling through France, which are less stylish and far cheaper.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything- location, comfort
Cons: Nothing really
