Staff at Eurocar were friendly and competent. Their English was excellent, which was helpful because I speak no Danish. Everything went as expected. Plus, they upgraded the car from manual to automatic transmission at no additional cost.
Nice car and service. Extra foe driving in Germany seemed to be a bit much

As I’m old school and a technophobe probably a quick demonstration of the cars tech would’ve been appreciated but anyways that’s my fault, other than that everything was great!
It is SO hard to recharge the car in Aarhus for the return as there is a severe lack of ChaDemo charging stations in the city. I tried for 3-4 hours to find a fast charger in the city but there were none available and I had to return the car with less than 50% charge. I understand that when hiring a petrol car the fuel can be filled up easily before returning but when there are only slow chargers available for EVs in the city. This makes it hard to return the car charges and then there are extra fees for the car being undercharged.
I rented a Nissan Leaf, assuming that I could easily recharge the car. No one in the Avis dealership advised me otherwise. However, when it came time to recharge, I was unable to download the appropriate apps through the App store because I was not in North America. I had to call a trouble number for Clever (a charging company) who overroad the system so I could at least drive the car to my hotel. I then had to drive back to an Avis rental outlet at the Billund Airport and they let me exchange the car for the ONLY one they had. I asked what they would have done if they had no cars at all and they said, "We will call you a taxi." Thankfully an exchange was possible. People renting electric cars in Europe who come from North America ought to know that charging might not be possible if you expect to download an app for various charging companies.
