Cons: On the spot, when added insurance price was 2.2x more than initially communicated
Car given was not the one reserved,but Hyundai that had some strange features that caused flat battery and left us without the car for half a day ( of course when most needed)
Emergency service from Hertz that was the actual provider behind the Dollar, acted very slowly and fairly unprofessionally. End result was waiting for 3 hours in the garage for them to come with cables and start the engine. At that time they gave us instructions that should be initially communicated.

Pros: Ms. Valerie Helped us to move the laggages all the way to the car. And helped us setup all the car seats securely. She was also super friendly. P
Cons: However the GPS phone Device we rent, the car charger didn't charge at all. Dead on the way to our destination. Coast so much pain.

Great car at a great price. Confusing pickup.
Pros: The car was amazing. Lovely Audi A3 hatchback and the price was fantastic. The employees were courteous and helpful. Overall excellent.
Cons: I was looking for dollar rental company for awhile. Hint- no dollar rental in the airport. Their cars are handled by hertz! No idea how I was supposed to know that, but the information desk directed me to hertz and everything was great after that.

Pros: The car was ok; had gps, which helped; far more economical than taking a train or bus from barcelona to madrid.
Generally, the Hertz/Thrifty/Dollar staff were competent.
Cons: Pick up at the Barcelona Sants station area was marred by the fact that no one seemed to know where the Dollar pick up location was.
The official tourist info site at the station told me to walk in the opposite direction from the Hertz/Thrifty site; then the Avis people I encountered also gave me incorrect information.
It's really important for Kayak and Dollar/Hertz to inform the customer that Dollar operates under the Hertz/Thrifty umbrella. If I had this information, I would have not wasted an hour walking around the Barcleona station area.
Also, the folks that actually transferred the car to me did not speak any English which made it difficult to ask for immediate directions as I left the garage.
Regardless, I'll probably rent again from Dollar because of their flexible one-way rental policy.

Not much to like about the dollar / hertz / thrifty rental in Barcelona
Pros: The car I received was nice.
Cons: First, the rental in the Barcelona train station is not in the station but down the street. It is a Hertz Thrifty location worth no Dollar signage outside the store. It does not appear on any maps as a dollar location. The store was hot and crowded. There were 3 people handling a handful of customers, but 2 went on break. It took over an hour to get the car rental agreement. The cars are parked in a garage about a block away, but they told us the wrong floor, so it took another 20 minutes to find the car. It is in a rough neighborhood, so be careful.

Dollar - hard to find!
Pros: No one in Barcelona knew anything about Dollar and there was no response to the phone number listed in the reservation.
Cons: No response or indication of where to find this rental agency. We got lucky by one person knowing Hertz could help.

Cons: They should warn you that you should carry and international license for Spain
Cons: Hard to find the company- under other name that doesn't show on the voucher or web
The insurance wasn't fit to Spain so we pay more.
We got mini car and we ordered economy.
After two hours we finally find this place it still took more two hours to drive from there

Pros: Nothing. Shuttle never came to pick me up and I never got car. Tried to call many times, both local Barcelona number foe Autoclick car rental which was supposed to fulfill reservation, and US customer service for Economy. No one answered in Spain!
Cons: Everything. Never got picked up and never to rental car. A complete mess and failure!

Fiat 500 around Catalonia
Pros: Staff was super helpful and quick to get me out the door and check back in. Car was spotless and smelled great. This Fiat drove smooth and handled the mountain roads very well. I had a wonderful 3 days driving around Catalonia.
Cons: 1. I was advised to pay for insurance online when booking so I did. When I showed up they said I had to buy insurance or they would have to put a hold on my creditcard for the Max allowed. I think only 1 of the insurances should have been needed but it seems like that unclear system is in place to maximize profits. 2. Finding this place was very difficult. My booking was through Economy Car Rental. Everyone told me there was no such thing at the Barcelona airport. I finally figured out (from a shuttle bus driver) that it was probably AutoClick and off airport grounds. This type of info could have been so dam simple to relay to me in an email with the confirmation booking. A little map maybe showing me where pickup was as well as the name change. If it was in my email I sure did not find it.

Cons: I planned to rent a car to take a day drip to an area near Barcelona. The e-mail I received said that I could pick up the car at the Barcelona airport. I went to the airport, but there was no Economy Rent a Car at the airport. Note that I had to pay for the airport shuttle to get to the airport. Airport information had never heard of Economy Rent a Car. I did a Google search for Economy Rent a Car, and found a location off site near the airport. I again paid to transportation to this area. After walking around for approx 45 minutes, it was clear that Economy Rent a Car did not exist. I eventually found a location that does business with Economy. They looked up the reservation, but it had not yet processed. So, I wouldn´t be able to get a car for another 45 minutes, at least. Since this was only going to be a day trip and I had already spent almost 2 hours searching for the car, I cancelled the reservation. The experience caused me to waste a day in Barcelona. I am hesitant to use your service again, since you work with unreliable companies.
Always try to upsell (even when they don't have the car you reserved)
Pros: Good car. Clean.
Cons: They don't have the car class you reserved, so they try to give you the "choice" to pay more for the only car they have (& the one they would give you anyway). Really unethical.
Comprehensive insurance would have doubled the daily price.

Cons: The reservation did not exist as far as Hertz knew but the charge was on my son's card. We ultimately rented from Sixt and had a good experience with them. When I initially gave a good rating I was thinking of the rental we actually got not this one - sorry!
Cons: booked With ACE all insurance included. Upon Arrival Goldcar Barcelona, tells us, that they do not accept the terms and conditions negotiated by ACE and that ACE has no cars and that we have to accept their conditions otherwise there is no car. I have had an exchange with priceline on this issue - to no avail. It is for me not acceptable that I'm not aware that the subcontractor of ACE (in this case Goldcar) does not accept the conditions of ACE. Goldcar has been condemned for this business practice in Italy, but not yet in Spain. ACE should stop working with Goldcar or make it clearer to the customer, that the contract via internet will not be honoured upon arrival and that more costs are to be expected.

Ace is basically Goldcar in Spain, which has exorbitant hidden fees
Pros: The seat leon was a new car, only 22 miles on it
Cons: 1) we were charged 180 euro for fuel in advance ( to be returned in 30 days since we brought the car back with full tank)
2) were charged 1500 euros as security deposit since we used our credit card car rental coverage
3) had really bad experiences with Goldcar in the past, we were looking for a different company, yet we arrived in the same place with hidden fees since Ace is Goldcar
