Cons: The quoted price was $80 for 3 days, but we got charged for $120! They were dishonest about the extra charge. They never mentioned that we got charged extra. It was when I read the receipt carefully that we found that they over-charged us money

Cons: The additional charge for another driver. My husband and I are covered under the same insurance, why is there an added charge for the other to drive? Why just AAA. If price is the same, I will choose the other rental cat company for this reason.

Cons: Fine print. It said we needed a major credit card we missed that point and almost ruined our trip. So no credit card no car made us sad and depressed. Live and learn for next time.

Enterprise out did themselves!
Pros: Very inexpensive, especially for a 1-way rental. Gave me a 4-wheel drive SUV as an upgrade for free due to snowy weather & bad roads. Great customer service!

Hard sell not appealing
Pros: Vehicle was clean and full of gas. No issues with vehicle.
Cons: The hard sell to purchase the insurance gets old. I rent quite a few vehicles and do not need to purchase the coverage. They go on and on about how you need it.

Pros: Great check-in service, they had everything ready for me when I arrived, very fast, good explanations, clean ride (inside and out) and just overall great experience.
Cons: The brakes squeaked on the pickup I rented, but that wasn't a big deal... just a minor annoyance.

Only Credit Card?
Cons: I wasn't aware that you needed a credit card to rent a car. I don't rent cars very often and I've been in Japan the last 3 years so I couldn't tell you the last time I rented a car, but I used debit in the past. When I got to the counter and found out that I couldn't get my rental to drive across country to visit family, I had to go through another place and it ended up costing me 3 times the amount. Was very frustrating.

Cons: I had a reservation for the rental. I got to the Alamo car rental place in Sioux Falls South Dakota, at 09:00 instead of 12:00 to pick up. The lady never told me there would be a charge for early pickup. I would have waited till 12:00 . Not a big deal. I was quoted $138.00 for a two day rental of the vehicle. I got charged $271.00 for the two days. So they took out $500.00 + out of my bank account. When I returned the vehilce in Fargo North Dakota, the same day ( 4 hours later) they ended up charging me the original price of $138.00 for the one day..... If Alamo car rental just doubles the reservation amount every time I will not be renting from Alamo again. Also when I picked up the vehicle from Sioux Falls, when they gave me the keys they guy said "is it you that rented the shi**y sonic? It is a peice of sh*t"

Pros: The car was wonderful to drive. I have rented from Alamo since the 1980's. Wish I had been smart enough to buy stock then. The only area that was a little different was a keyless ignition. New for me didn't take long to adjust. You have wonderful employees.

Pros: Arrived in Denver on way to Sioux Falls, united cancelled the flight and could rebook for 8:35 the next evening. That would have been 24 hours in Denver airport (after waiting in lines with hundreds of other people). Decided to drive there and complete the leg of trip must faster, I thought. Got to Denver Avis rental office, about 35 or so people were there, two to three rental agents were assisting other stranded people and a few reservations. Stood in line for over 2.5 hours while the agents processed in an epic glacial speed. When I finally get up to the counter, the manager (I assumed) appeared and was full of apologies. He did not know of the horrendous amount of wait time. Lobby was filthy. Car was filthy. A running light and a headlight were out on the car (less than 6000 miles). Never again. Denver airport's and its United hub need to get their sh!t together. No wonder my corporation offers trips that don't involve Denver in hire plans.
Cons: Didn't make it to Sioux Falls, United cancelled my flight. Rented from Denver. Never again.

Cons: Car was not ready when I arrived. Reserved for 9 got there at 10. Girl at counter was unhappy and kept telling me might people did not do their job. I waited 20 minutes to get a car.

Never using AVIS OR Hertz again if at all possible
Cons: Ordered a car for an employee like I have 50-70 times this year... Many with AVIS and Hertz... For the first time could not pick up the car with the same corp CC as all the other times with no problem as none of our cards have employee's names "embossed" on the card... To add it was 10:40 pm and no way to fix the issue... No help from anybody other than call back in the morning... Then the rate goes from $70 to $350 as all of a sudden they are "out of cars..." even though the one we reserved was sitting right there waiting for us...

Pros: Upgraded to a nicer vehicle for just a few dollars more. Car was excellent, had many features and was fun to drive. I hated to turn the car back in. It was a great experience.
Cons: Drop off was confusing. The time for my drop off was before the counter opened - I was dropping off around 5:00 a.m. Other rental car agencies had signs about where to park the car for drop off. Avis had no signs. Eventually after circling the lot three times, I parked the car in a Avis spot. I figured they would figure out that it was a drop off.
Cons: First car had super strong smoke smell. Second was just faint. Annoying, but we had a funeral to go to. Major gripe was on return. Flights were cancelled and to get home we needed an alternate airport. Cost us a six-fold increase in price despite returning only two hours late. Felt we we had insult added to injury. Will think twice before using this company in the future.
