10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent food and service.
Cons: We were in rooms 8 and 9. There was quite a but of noise from rooms above, though it didn’t stop me sleeping well. I thought the coffee could have been better - it tasted like filter rather than freshly ground.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was really good. The Receptionist was extra helpful with us, as we needed advice regarding our drive out of Tintern due to the road closures! Also, it was a fantastic idea having fresh milk outside our door for the morning tea- great!
Cons: All was excellent! However, there was a little step at our door, maybe another one up to it? For older people? Otherwise, absolutely nothing to complain about.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Parva Farmhouse in Chepstow, you'll be steps from Wye Valley and a 2-minute drive from Tintern Abbey. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely owners and pretty setting. Good breakfasts and dinner
Cons: All lovely
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, excellent breakfast, coffee espresso machine in the room, the room had a great view, the beds were very comfortable, the inside of the whole house is nicely decorated, free parking on premise, free and good working wi-fi, the owner is very kind and communicative. Price is cheaper than the competition, I would recommend this b&b hotel.
Cons: The TV in the room is small, could be bigger (anyway we didn't use it), no sockets next to the bed (we had to sit on the chair next to the socket in order to use the phone while charging). Note that this is no big deal and overall I'm very happy with the room.

Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Parva Farmhouse Riverside Guesthouse Approaching the Parva Farmhouse Riverside Guesthouse (PFRG) is just the beginning of a memorable short break. The countryside surrounding Tintern is breathtaking and so is the wildlife. PFRG is a little ‘gem’ situated on the west bank of the tidal River Wye. A narrow entrance from the A466 leads to a public car park, next to St Michael’s Church, just a few metres from the Farmhouse. Nothing is too much trouble, guests receive that personal welcome that usually comes from a family business owned by folks (Roger and Marta) who really care about their guests. On arrival freshly made ‘proper tea’ is served with home-made shortbread in a comfortable lounge kept cool in the summer months by the huge thick stone walls of the Farmhouse. Rooms are comfortable, the bed very ‘sleepable’ and a shower that works and is a pleasure. Tea, capsule coffee are in all rooms plus a jar of home made very special biscuits - lovely!! Open the window and take in the view of the River Wye and surrounding forested hills. Dinner is served Wednesday to Saturday guests gathering for pre-dinner cocktails in the comfy lounge. Roger’s menus are usually brief (see website) making selection easy, I needed to ‘google’ some descriptions exposing my culinary limitations. However, all the food is superb and personally served by Marta who remembers every detail including who ordered what - guests will not be disappointed. The standard is first class and truly delicious, in short a perfect holiday experience to match the delightful location. On those days Roger and Marta rest from serving in their restaurant, we found the Wye Valley Hotel opposite to be friendly and competent offering better food than most in a relaxed atmosphere. Our lunchtime visit to the Royal George Hotel in Tintern was not our best experience!!
Cons: Nothing significant
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The woman running the B and B was really helpful and kind. The breakfast was excellent. The room had everything we needed. Lovely duvet.
Cons: The bed was a bit too soft .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Remote riverside location on a long distance walkway so ideal for our purposes. Warm welcome from charming family staff and nothing was too much trouble. Room was charming and comfortable - ensuite quite a small space but absolutely fine and functional. Lovely lounge area with good variety of books and games. This was summer but a great retreat for winter! Breakfast was sumptuous. Highly recommended.
Cons: Sorry, no helpful comments!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect, huge room with big roll top bath and separate shower. We enjoyed a few games of pool in the games room after getting back from a nice meal in Chepstow. Huw and Jacky were the perfect hosts and 2 of the friendliest people you will ever meet and so relaxed. In the morning we came down for breakfast and both had the pancakes which were incredible, so good that we both had a second helping. Will definitely look to stay here again if we go down that way.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast and relaxed feel to the owners.
Cons: The room had a window that opened on the main road which was a little noisy with having a light sleeper wife, there was no other window to open to get air into the room which was getting hot in the night we were not going to leave the front door open all night. Maybe a fan would help.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Size of room
Cons: Lots of spider webs especially around windows. 7 spiders seen. I'm a real arachnophobe. Had to deal with 3 spiders. 1 on floor & 1 in shower probably couldn't have been be avoided but all others shouldnt have been there. 1 on pillow. Couldn't sleep afterwards

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Host anika lovely. Comfortable sitting room. Advice on where to eat freely offered and reservations made for you. Breakfasts lovely tasty and wholesome..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an excellent B&B. The owners are friendly and welcoming and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Our room at the front of the B&B had a beautiful river view. There are great places to eat in easy walking distance. The breakfast is a particular feature of this location. There is a bewildering choice of fruit juices and a good choice of cooked food using local produce. Toast is a great treat, using bread made by the owner and a huge variety of her jams or marmalade (I can recommend the strawberry and lavender) or local honey. The B7B is also owned by two adorable jobs who are always available to have their tummies tickled! This was a great find and I would definitely stay there again.
Cons: The only downside is that parking is limited and on the other side of the main road, which can be tricky to pull out onto. However, this is due to the way the village is constructed, with steep hillsides immediately behind the hotel meaning that most parking for the village is on the other side of the road. It did not impact our enjoyment of the holiday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed the stay - Ian and Anika were wonderful and very welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic. I'd highly recommend this to anyone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our second time staying at The Old Rectory. The food, especially Ian's omelettes, was superb as was the room. We will definitely be staying there on any future visit to Tintern.

Cons: There was a lot of noise in the downstairs pub after closing up time that kept me awake
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable clean and excellent staff
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The manager and barman were both really nice and very helpful. The location is great, with a large, long stay carpark very close (just behind the more obviously signed short stay car park) The room itself was nice and large with a very comfy bed. The shower was very good - hot and powerful.
Cons: WiFi was variable, better in the bar than in our room (to be fair they do warn about this on the website). The down side of the room was that you couldn't fill the kettle directly in the sink - but using a mug worked fine.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and tidy. Great shower.
Cons: Very hot at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are very spacious and clean, food is amazing great price and the portions are huge. The beer taste nice and fresh. I’ve stayed here before and will definitely stay again

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine, the room was a bit quirky but you expect this from a building of this era. The beer was excellent as was the prices.
Cons: The only drawback was the bed which was uncomfortable and creaked very badly.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Great welcome. Great pub. Friendly staff and a busy but chilled out place to be. Room was large and comfy (ground floor room) so room for the dog. Good beers and ciders. Good breakfast.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room 4 had extra facilities so we could have used it for self- catering. Having our own front door Good location
Cons: Wished they had provided evening meals
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very Good
Cons: NON En Suite / Shower over Bath
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved so much about this place, particularly its originality. Staff were so nice. When we arrived the beer garden was full as there was a live band on which we thought a bonus. Great atmosphere. The area is very pretty and we need to come back so we can explore more. Breakfast was a very good standard.
Cons: The radiator in the bathroom needs cleaning or painting but generally was good standard. Suggestion of a plug in fan available in the room when it's hot.
6.8 Good
Pros: Bedroom fair on suite very small ,stairs very narrow and steep, no light working on stairs .No air con or fan room very hot (very hot weather)
Cons: could have made sure stair light was working, window open in bedroom due to very hot night road outside very busy with fast cars
5.0 Okay
Pros: convenient location for the town and castle
Cons: The reception and general attention to detail fell short of stays in other locations. Mainly issues that can be easily rectified. Just as tinned fruit for breakfast. Juice glasses were stuck to the table because the table was sticky. Despite pre-ordering the breakfast this was incorrectly given to another table and their was no place setting for two. Staff were often seen on cigarette breaks outside. The room was comfortable but the air-conditioning unit outside our room was noisy and on all night due to the high temperature. Construction work (drilling) at a property opposite started well before 8am. So bit of a rude awakening. Also unusual to be asked to pay on checking in rather than checking out. No questions were asked whether our stay was comfortable or enjoyable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was lovely, staff were friendly and rooms were clean and rustic.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic, right beneath the castle and a few minutes away from the central streets. We loved the authentic feel of the room, classic old pub style, but all very comfortable, with lovely little touches. Breakfast was nice, too, and the beer garden is a lovely place to relax after a long day.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Good breakfasts. Quick access to everything
Cons: Right on a noisy street. Also a noisy fan or motor runs outside all night. Three nights of poor sleep. Upkeep leaves a lot to be desired

5.5 Okay
Pros: The place looks nice from the outside
Cons: Superior room was small, and not sure what was “superior” it was hot, couldn’t open window and NO air con, bed not great bathroom dated and certainly not worth £220 a night more like £150 max the worst room Iv ever booked via bookings.com in both comfort and value. Cast iron grill might as well be a beefeater not impressed. Good breakfast mind in the breakfast room
6.3 Good
Cons: Rooms were tired and in need of refurbishment
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast
Cons: The restaurant wasn’t open. The only food was at the grill, which was very ordinary and not remotely worth the price.
6.5 Good
Pros: Very nice location and grounds, easy to visit places around, great for a short break.facilities generally good
Cons: Service a bit slow generally, breakfast on a couple of days chaotic, not enough staff, considering what was charged for breakfast ....score 2 out of 10 How difficult is to get a couple of staff from other areas just to clear tables, not a complicated operation, would not have thought it takes much training, even the hotel manager could have helped, that’s what you do! Spoilt an otherwise good break

5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff were friendly and the room was fine. The food was nice and our complimentary goods like water and coffee etc were refilled every day.
Cons: Music was very very loud till 1am which made sleeping impossible and we also had some kind of fan or generator right outside our windows which kept us awake all night. The bed was soft at the head and hard in the middle which was very uncomfortable. Not enough pillows either.
7.0 Good
Cons: The access after hours up the fire escape which was not obvious which way you had to go to get to your room
5.5 Okay
Pros: It was in a central location
Cons: The room smelt of sewage and the toilet was even worse. In fact I didn't use the bathroom I went to the ladies toilet in the pub to use the facilities. The accommodation was very dated
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Right in the town centre.
Cons: I had to leave before they put on breakfast
8.3 Excellent

Cons: the disco downstairs, went on till 1pm in the morning`
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location
Cons: The rooms were really hot.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was poor quality didn't bother the second morning. It was convenient for me to visit family but there is no parking facilities, you have to use pay and display which is quite a walk away. It was more like a pub atmosphere and there was a lot of workmen staying there and being female on my own felt a little uncomfortable.
Cons: The furniture the bed was not at all comfortable it was well worn as was everything else in the room
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Basic hotel and cheap so good value.
Cons: Mouldy grout in bathroom
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room booking was was messed up but we were given an extra room at no cost which made up. The breakfast is good with lots of choice.
Cons: There is no parking nearby and offloading luggage can be problematic as the place is at a busy junction with double yellow lines everywhere. The place is old and needs a facelift inside the rooms. The check in is limited to 10pm, and even if you have checked in navigating different floors after 11pm is via the fire exit.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room, nicely decorated and very clean. Compact. Great breakfast.
Cons: A little noisy on evening while clearing bottles to bins and again in morning. There is road noise from side road and main road near by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was quite a distance from where I needed to be (8 miles) but the venue quality and features made up for the extra distance travelled. I arrived later than advised on the first night but it was no trouble and staff were very accommodating.
Cons: If I have to say something that is not positive, it would be that a pedestal fan would be appreciated on the hot summer nights when I stayed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money, very clean room, breakfast was great and very friendly people.
Cons: Only downfall was the parking
7.5 Good
Pros: Very handy for our venue
Cons: Nothing to dislike
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The location was good
Cons: From the pictures on the site I was disappointed when I arrived, at first I thought I was walking into a hair salon. It took me a while to figure out how to get someone to come to welcome me into the property. I was handed the keys and told where to go. I was in room 11, twin room, not the cleanest of rooms but for a couple of nights I could cope. The beds were not comfortable and the room is in need of a revamp. There was half a toilet roll in the bathroom, no spare ones. The following day the room was not cleaned, and we had no toilet roll so we had to go out and buy one. The departure day I left the room to go to work, my son took the bags to the car and came back to collect the food that we had brought as we had a number of things left. When he got back the room had bee stripped and the food had been taken. The check in time is poor 4pm and they will not let you in if you arrive earlier and check out is 10am which is rather early in comparison to our properties. Even though there was breakfast in the price we never went due to the times 8-9.30 am, could have done with this earlier as I had to get to work.

5.5 Okay
Pros: The location is excellent. Breakfast was just right, well cooked and tasted lovely.
Cons: Room was in need to updating, a lick of paint and a new carpet would help to make it more comfortable, shower was too small and old, bathroom needed improvement. Service at breakfast was sloppy. We love Chepstow but, sorry, not the Beaufort hotel.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: town centre location good; staff friendly; quite lively on a Friday eve; good cooked breakfast. nb: Wetherspoons just down the road.
Cons: the single room was claustrophobic, suffering from the usual problem of the added 'en suite' reducing the bedroom to a corridor; the room lacked daylight and had no view, all the more as there was scaffolding outside the window when I stayed. to me the hotel was fine but not ideal for anybody looking for something more up-market or stylish.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: great position in town. car parking rear of hotel also public car park payable quite close. nice selection of rea ales Proper Job a Cornish ale was very good.. Bed was comfortable the room and bathroom were clean.
Cons: The menu was not what I was expected, and we wanted something a bit special for my sister's birthday, but not to worry there were plenty of restaurants in the area we choose a nearby Chinese who gave us a large table to accommodate us on the second floor and a great meal. Breakfast could have been better if the group could've sat together. I stay in many hotel's as booking.com can confirm and I think the room and breakfast was expensive and£70 max would be more like the tariff for room and breakfast
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff extremely helpful and friendly.
