This is a lovely hotel whose rooms are both attractive and practical. The breakfast was outstanding as was the conservatory in which it is served.
The local bus services are spotty and complex due to multiple companies and stops. Fortunately taxis are cheap.
The location was in walking distance of town and not expensive by taxi. The room was tidy and clean. Lots of bed covers due to heating going off. Good breakfast for little money and service good.
It was cold the heating only came on in the morning and afternoon it was cold duing the day. It was cold in the breakfast area.
The staff were friendly and the room was lovely
We were in an outside room and it was cold during the night when the heating had gone off but it was the first really cold night of the year so far and that won't have helped !
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived some two hours before book in, they let us leave the car at the hotel and even gave us a map of Chester with directions of the best way to get in to the city centre. Our room was very clean and cosy. Would use this hotel again.
Room was a little on the small side, but as their was only two of us and we did not spend time in the room other than to sleep it wasn't really a problem for us. The friendly atmosphere and spotlessly clean hotel more than made up for the room size.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They accommodated our needs.
The room in which we stayed was not like the ones shown on the website which was the main reason I booked in the first place. This was quite disappointing. However the overall stay was ok.
Delightful staff, nice lounge & bar areas, exceptionally clean, excellent breakfast.
Single room was definitely on the small side, but bathroom was spacious.
Easy to find, couple of miles out the centre, free car parking
No draught beers, bar prices extortinate £5.00 tv did not work properly Poor breakfast
A warm welcome greeted us upon arrival. We had two rooms one in each courtyard which were very good - one was a bit small with not much storage but ok for the few days of our stay. The second room (twin) was excellent. Both had all the facilities you would expect. Breakfast (continental) was adequate, however you could pay extra for cooked. Hotel in pleasant surroundings but more than the 15 minute walk into Chester that we were advised.
During our stay the bar wasn't particularly well stocked with cask beers and lagers not available (run out).
The room was comfortable & the breakfast was very good.
We were in an attic room with a sloping roof which made the bathroom slightly difficult to use.
The hotel was good value for the money, about 20 min. walk from the town centre, bus into town was also available. Ample parking. Spacious accommodation
Its proximity to Chester city
Having lived on the continent for many years I found that a continental breakfast didn't only consist of cereals, grapefruit, yoghout and toast, it also consists of cheeses, meats, cold boiled eggs etc.
