Excellent 10.0
Pros: Fabulous hidden gem. On site Manager Augusta and Harris were great, Lot of great recommendations by Augusta for sight seeing and adventures. Beach and the grounds are beautifully maintained, Clean, relaxing and great snorkeling. Breakfast and the coffee both fantastic. Had dinner a few nights and it was also very tasty!
Cons: The only issue, which the host can"t do anything about is the neighborhood chickens, Bring earplugs or use the one supplied to help with the early wake up calls.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The property was very nice and well kept and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Tasty breakfast!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great location. Very clean comfortable cabin. The staff were friendly and helpful. We loved how quiet Sandy Bay is compared to West End.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: A comfortable laid back, peaceful place in a quiet location but within 15 minutes taxi to West End. Talias a great host, available but not intrusive, who made sure we saw the Island highlights. Swimming off the dock was fantastic and the cooking also a highlight.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The main hostess at the time, Augusta, was very knowledgeable, friendly, hospitable. All of our requests were handled without delay. It was refreshing to be welcomed and looked after in a genuine way.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We're still in heaven remembering our incredible experience at Puerta Azul! Talia and her staff are gracious, generous, lovely people exemplifying the beautiful Roatan island culture. Bungalows are just lovely, the water is refreshing and peaceful -- morning snorkels on the other side of the reef were spectacular. Loved our stay; can't wait to return!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location was excellent. Away from all the business on a beautiful stretch of beach offering great snorkelling right from the pier! Nicest room of our entire two and a half week trip to Honduras. Air conditioning worked awesome! Nice breakfast served in the morning. Would love to return one day!!
Cons: Nothing!

Excellent 9.0
Pros: The property was amazing! The grounds are very well taken care of and gives a feeling of being in a tropical island paradise but right on the beach. The staff was so nice and helpful all throughout our stay. The onsite dive shop was a huge bonus.
Cons: I wish there wasn't a road right on the beach next to the restaurant. Every time a car drove by it smelled pretty bad like diesel fumes which isn't pleasant when you're eating.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Aesthetically, Tranquilseas was above my expectations - they have put in a lot of work to make the place beautiful and it is lovely to walk through and calming to be on the property. The sunset yoga class on the rooftop over looking the ocean was one of my favourite parts of the trip - I wish I could have done more yoga but most of the classes were scheduled at the same time as the dives so I had to pick one or the other - if there was an early class that could be taken before the morning dives or more evening classes that would be awesome! As a single female traveler, I felt extremely safe on the property and my room was very comfortable with awesome AC :)
Cons: Firstly, the food at the restaurant was by far the worst I ate the entire trip - I ate there a few times and every time the food was so greasy or just not nice tasting, to the point that I actually skipped dinner all together one night because I didn't want to eat anything there - there aren't a lot of other options for places to eat nearby other than Blue Bahia which is down the beach a bit. Secondly, I would never ever advise any one to dive at this location - I have never felt so unsafe on a dive - they were bringing down huge groups of people, some of who were young children, with only one dive master who did not seem competent at all. Overall the entire dive experience here was unprofessional and not really enjoyable. Honestly, I don't know what type of traveller I would recommend this place to - it is very beautiful and isolated so if you are looking for some place far away from the usual tourist traps then this would be a good spot for you. It is an easy 10-15ish minute cab ride to West End so if you don't mind cabbing around then this shouldn't be an issue - otherwise there is literally nothing else around and nothing to do. Not a bad place if you are looking to sit in a pretty place and read for a couple days.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The service from every single member of the staff was amazing. Food was great. Loved the eco-friendly initiatives of the management, such as giving you a reusable water bottle and having a water dispenser in every room instead of selling bottled water or having big bottles of soap, body lotion and shampoo to refill every day with local organic product instead of giving small disposable bottles every day.
Cons: Due to its location, the beach in front of the hotel is not very inviting to go into the water because it has a lot of algae; however, we did have a great time on the private dock watching an amazing sunset (great pics) and enjoyed our time all morning in the private pool.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything: bed, room, view, staff!!! The staff was so nice and professional and helpful.
Cons: The food... not ideal for vegetarian. Breakfast was not good in general which is a shame (very blend, dry, overcooked). The baleadas were dry (and expensive considering it’s the local dish) and the avocado toast... let’s just say the bread was sad looking, the avocado purée not seasoned and the toppings all over the place. The hummus was good but there is something very sad about 3 celery sticks sitting on a place for 2. But everything else was just great!!!!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great service, funky atmosphere! Amazing food ❤️. Kayaking beside the dolphins it’s just fantastic spot
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The rooms are very comfortable and the staff is absolutely the friendliest.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This property was the cleanest place I have ever stayed at and I am OCD!!! The sheets smelled so good when I hopped in the bed. Odyssey and Brian were terrific! They were soooo accommodating. There was also another female worker that brought us tea to our room(forgot her name) but she was amazing too! I plan to go back to the exact place!!!
Cons: Absolutely nothing ...it was amazing!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: We liked everything about the property! Staff, location,(right across the street from fantastic snorkeling) rooms, pool, food. From the time we were picked up from the ferry until 5 days later when we taken to the airport they treated us like family. We will definitely stay here again!
Cons: Everything was great.
Excellent 10.0

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Host was great, good food, helpful local tips, arranged a dive on short notice
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location, gardens, views, staff, pool, ambience. If you're looking for corporate chain experience - wrong hotel. Personal but unobtrusive care from Cheryl (&Alex) in this Caribbean paradise. Beach (with 2 great restaurants)& snorkelling at 5 mins walk - nuff said
Cons: Nothing to not like here
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Guava Grove was amazing, the staff is so nice and polite. We felt like we were with family or friends. Cheryl is a great host. It was like we were on our second honeymoon. The pool was great as was the service. It was like we were in paridise.
Cons: It was a 10 minute walk to the beach, but that wasn't bad at all.
Excellent 9.3
Pros: Loved the location, how close it is to the rest of the island destinations. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they were great on our first visit. The gardens are very beautiful and gave me a sense of serenity I was looking for in my getaway. Thank you for a great experience.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Traveling alone it was great to have so much fun conversation with great people

Pros: The rooms were impeccable. Bed amazing. AC perfection. Everything worked like I should. Great rooms.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful spot!!! Wonderfully nice staff. Very nice facilities. Great Dive Operation.
Good 7.9
Pros: I wish there was a VERY GOOD. I chose good because what is pictured in the photos is definitely on the PERFECT DAY when everything is perfect. We were also led to believe that all bathrooms were the outdoor bathrooms. I will say this though, the staff was amazing!!! Gary, and everyone else who took care of us did an amazing job!
Cons: I guess I would say the photos in the ads. It looks like an amazing resort from the ad on the website, however when you get there everything looks a lot older and not very well taken care of. It is definitely misleading.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The bed was so comfortable and the air conditioning was super cold. A much needed comfort and luxurious stay after staying on Utila for 2 1/2 weeks.
Good 7.5
Pros: Diving excellent but not a lot else to do
Cons: Not much to do if you didn't dive
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The cottage was very comfortable and everyone was very nice. The reefs were amazing and the diving was very convenient.
Cons: If you could turn down the wind please? Seriously, it would be nice to have the trash picked up on our private island—on one end it was a real eyesore.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was awesome! Very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Cost of meals

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Georphi’s is the definition of a tropical paradise! Nestled into the forested hillside right off the main road, the cabins are located through a network of wooden staircases winding through the trees, providing a very treehouse-y feel. Many have private or semi-private decks with hammocks. Michelle was a great host who’s hospitality was only rivalled by the friendly cats and dogs that greet you as your walk throughout the property.
Cons: The only downside was that our room was close to disco nightclub on the property next door, so there was loud music Thurs-Fri-Sat nights.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: This place was so cute and perfectly located to everything on the West End in walking distance. I traveled by myself to go scuba diving and felt very safe.
Cons: The only down side is the club next door that blasts music til late at night. Good thing I stayed out late myself and I'm a heavy sleeper.
Excellent 9.1
Pros: Great beach, restaurants and bars.
Cons: The only thing to be aware of is you can usually hear music from nearby bars.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Crossing the narrow street am stepping on the sand
Cons: There s a disco next door too loud for some hrs
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We enjoyed our stay so much , we’re coming back !
Mediocre 3.0
Cons: Next to a club that was blasting music. Could not sleep.
Good 7.0
Pros: Comfortable little cabins on a hillside, surrounded by trees, but at the bottom of the stairs is the main road throught town, along the coast, with the beach steps away. There are many rescue dogs and cats roaming the grounds for good good pats. It's one of the only affordable options in town. We had a cabin with shared bathroom; it was a cabana with two units and a bathroom with a cold-water shower between them. We lucked out and the other room wasn't occupied during our stay, so, hey, private bathroom!
Cons: The club in the property next door is a nightmare neighbor. The music goes late into the night at bone-shaking volumes.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Michelle was great!
Cons: Close to the disco so loud at night on the weekends! If you can't beat them.... Just join in!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The grounds are beautiful and each cabin has a hammock. It has a very nice beach that is little used right in front of the property.
Cons: No hot water but the water wasn't terribly cold.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Great room with a lovely porch, kitchen and king size bed. Could hear the surf and get a bit of sea view. Good ocean breeze and fans meant we didn’t use the AC but it was there if needed
Cons: Very noisy bar nearby with loud music and screaming patrons until 2 or 3 am. Our property supplied ear plugs which helped. It would be great for those who want to join the party.

Pros: Great staff!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff are bending over backwards to make sure you’re stay is perfect from the moment you walk in the door. When I was checking in and felt a bit ill, the lovely concierge actually offered to run home quickly and grab a tea to help with my nausea from the boat. The rooms were spotless and cozy. The food at their restaurant is probably the best on the island. Located just above the beach with insane sunset views each night. Coral wall directly in front of hotel in case you’d like to jump right into the water in the morning and swim around with the turtles :)

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great atmosphere, clean, practical, amazing staff that would do anything for you! The onsite restaurant is fantastic with fun themed nights. We had a lobster night as well as a Honduran sampling night. Everyone sat around one big family style dinner together which was a great way to get to know other travelers. The owner, Mel, is an absolute sweetheart who works hard to ensure her guests are having the best experience possible. Mel and staff are helpful when planning outings. They give you all the best tips and tricks of the island! The outdoor shower and pool are an added bonus!
Good 7.0
Pros: The hostel in the heart of West End was fully booked, and this is the only other option for a budget traveler. It's a bit far from the main drag, but it's easy to catch a colectivo for 18-20 lempiras each way. There's a supermarket within walking distance and a cafe upstairs where you can get breakfast if you're in a hurry. Fast Wi-Fi if you need to work.
Cons: The drain in the dorm bathroom can't handle much water, so if you want to take a shower, you end up ankle deep in someone else's grime. What's worse is it doesn't get cleaned daily—I had to ask for it to be cleaned one of the nights, it was so bad. No hot water, no A/C. A non-refundable deposit is required a month before you check in.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Excellent value for money, friendly helpful staff and comfortable, if basic, facilities.
Cons: The location is obviously a slight negative, you need to get collectivo taxis or buses to get anywhere but they are cheap and plentiful enough for it not to be too much of a bother if you’re staying here and obviously it’s something we were prepared for when we booked.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Mel, the owner, was on the property during our visit and was very welcoming. She made great suggestions for activities and tips for how to get around. The property had a nice secluded pool and communal kitchen. It is located in Sandy Bay and a new large grocery store was very close by.
Good 6.0
Pros: Nice garden surrounding the pool. Very relaxing during the morning.
Cons: Very small bathroom. No water for many hours. No hot water when there was water.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Atmosphere staff guest, very lovely place
Cons: All was great

Pros: Very nice place to relax and enjoy nature. Barb was amazing host and made our stay wonderful
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The absolute serenity of the surroundings. Shuttle service went above and beyond just "driving". Breakfast was delicious. Barbara did a wonderful job of explaining our surroundings. The staff were very friendly.
Cons: Wish we could have stayed longer!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very clean lots of space very peaceful
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Liked the owner. Quiet location with mangroves and close to good snorkelling area Owner owns a good restaurant, Jolly Octopus which we went to at night. Due to limited guests at the time she offered lifts for us which we were extremely grateful for. Washing not typically offered but did provide on request. Also took us out to shops to get supplies for fridge in room. Good air conditioning.
Cons: More for awareness that website indicated breakfast, lunch and dinner options, whereas only breakfast was served generally. Lunch was served with drinks on certain tour options. Generally alcohol wasn’t available

Good 7.0
Cons: Pictures don't really correspond to reality, the place is tidy and well maintained but the water is not sandy and you can barely swim. Personnel at the bar/restaurant is not the most welcoming, reception is just ok.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Like your own private beach. Part of the cruise line excursion. Was quite and comfortable.
Cons: No one met us at the airport so was a bit confusing as to where to go. I was able to contact the resort and organized a taxi.
Good 7.5
Pros: The beach and individual rooms
Cons: The receptionist didn’t speak English The phone wasn’t working so we could ask for the airport shuttle pick up. They gave us a shuttle to the airport but charged us $10 when they said it would be free. Only one plug in in the room. Not one light on in the whole property when we left at 5:30 in the morning or anyone at the front desk
Good 7.9
Pros: Good location, clean, good AC,
Cons: Bit pricy, no cutlery or bowls for personal use, no restaurant
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Location to airport and ferry. Staff friendly. Beautiful location on water. Restaurant on waterfront.
Cons: It was clean, a/c works, bed on. Would like screens on windows for fresh air. Sandflies were really bad the day we stayed. Food good.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Clean, quiet and peaceful
Cons: Room smelled like paint, no towels in the room, wifi not working, ordered breakfast which was scramble eggs, hash brown, toasted bread and ham but when our food was served it was missing the ham and they just brought it out like that without telling us they had no more meat.
Good 7.9
Pros: Room was what we expected. Clean, food was good, staff great. Unable to use beach as major rain storm.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very nice people work here and dinner was great. Not a resort but a cheap stay for being so close to the ferry port.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Staff, Silvia was incredibly helpful
Cons: The shower was cold.
Okay 5.8
Pros: It’s is in the center so close to everything. It good for 1 night.
Cons: No hot water. To get WiFi I needed to get a room with AC.
Good 7.5
Pros: Ideal location for restaurants and transport links in Coxen Hole, and the staff offer a free airport shuttle when they receive your booking.
Cons: The was only one piece of bedding and though it was clean there were small longtime bloodstains which was a little bit disconcerting.
Okay 5.4
Pros: Staff helpful, location convenient for ferry terminal, cheap food close by, relatively quiet
Cons: Rooms poorly maintained and sparse, cleanliness marginal, too pricey for value provided, neighborhood unsafe at night, immigration officer gasped when I told him where I stay
Poor 1.0
Pros: it should not be on booking. It is below any level. Only cold water, staff did not speak any languages except Spanish. Shaby construction in any decent place designated for demolition. They were promising free ride to airport which did not happened.
Cons: everything
Good 6.3
Pros: We were just stopping for a night travelling from Utila to Roatan airport. It served its purpose but the rooms have no windows, very stuffy and doesn’t smell very nice. Would not recommend for more than 1 night.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: The owner is a grandmother and the hotel is right in the center of the market. It's close to the airport (they will pick you up) and a short walk to the ferry. IF you are used to rougher lodging, say in S.E. Asia or other parts of Central America, this is an ok place for one night. The 25% taxes that aren't included in the booking price make this go from an ok value to not so great.
Cons: I'm not sure if it's because it's close to Christmas but it seemed like the whole family was there, which was very nice for them, but meant it was more like a house than a hostel. There were people drinking outside my room from 3am and they were still there drinking when I left at 11am. Also, if babies cry and then you don't like seeing them get smacked, this might not be the place for you. The place is in the middle of the market and it's not safe for foreigners to walk around after 7pm.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Great place to stay before taking the morning ferry or if you arrive end of afternoon. they offer free pickup and/or drop-off to pier or airport, which is actually great! Otherwise the place is nice; clean, but it is not a place for more than one night is you want to enjoy roatan beaches, snorkelling and diving. The staff was really friendly and great, and we actually had a good evening in Coxen Hole. Only with locals (as it is not touristy at all here!!!), friendly, smiling, and cheap food!
Cons: it was really hot, but it's everywhere in this season!

Okay 4.0
Pros: Walking distance to Roatan Airport, there are a couple of shops around, the owners are friendly, though they speak no English
Cons: The room was really small and smelly, and had an extremely loud ceiling fan. The sheets had stains, there was mold in one corner of the room and across the entire bathroom ceiling as well as a hole on the bathroom ceiling. There were tons of mosquitoes in and outside the room and, unfortunately, the room didn't have a hook or any other way for us to put our own mosquito net. All in all, I was pretty disappointed by this accommodation, especially since we stayed at so many nicer places in Honduras for the same amount of money.
Okay 4.2
Pros: The room was small but cozy.
Cons: I woke up in the middle of the night many times because of the noise. Nobody spoke English, credit card machine didn't work and staff wasn't helpfull at all. Besides that it was really expensive for what you get.
Good 7.0
Pros: Seconds from the airport
Cons: Only cold water in showers
Good 6.0
Pros: It served it purpose of an overnight stay. They picked us up at the airport and dropped us off at the ferry dock. Language was a little bit of an issue.
Cons: It was an ok bed with a/c. That’s all we were looking for.
Okay 5.4
Pros: Very close to the airport
Cons: No running water in the bathroom and no WiFi
Mediocre 3.0
Cons: Dirty shower, bad staff, dirty sheets, air con was not in room after booking air con
Okay 5.0
Pros: Just over the road from the airport
Cons: Staff were unaware of my booking and extremely slow. The room was very basic, noisy fan, no running water in the sink and a basic shower with out a shower head. I’d only stay here as it’s next to the airport
Poor 1.0
Pros: close to airport, cheap
Cons: not clean, no internet even though it was said they had internet, no breakfast, unclean and uncomfortable, in a semi unsafe neighbourhood, bad for solo female traveler
