Pros: It was a lovely cottage with very nice views of the mountains. We were very confortable, independent, and we had everything we needed. The owner was very kind and he showed us all we needed. Kitchen and bathroom were correct, nothing very exceptional, but beds were great, specially the big one upstairs and we slept incredibly well. The house was very well located to get by car the Trossachs and Glencoe and Highlands with great landscapes.

Pros: This is a nice hotel but it could be a lot better if they invested in double pane windows to block out the road noise. The wifi worked well. When I checked visitor comments before deciding to stay here, several mentioned a problem with hot water but apparently they have fixed this now. I did not eat any meals in the hotel so I can't comment on the food but the restaurant seemed busy. I would recommend this hotel but try to request a QUIET room which does not face the very busy highway.

The Ben More Lodge is situated on the edge of the village of Crainlarich. All rooms at this bed and breakfast are located in cosy timber lodges close to the on-site restaurant and bar. Each lodge has an outdoor seating area and features a pine-lined bedroom with a fitted wardrobe and a dressing table. All rooms also have a TV, tea and coffee facilities and a private bathroom with shower facilities. A log fire features in the lounge bar, which serves a selection of malt whiskies. A Scottish menu, including a full Scottish breakfast, is available in the Ben More restaurant. Guests can also enjoy a drink on the terraced seating area, which overlooks the mountainous countryside. Close to the West Highland Way and mountains such as Ben More itself, the Lodge is surrounded by perfect walking country. The towns of Oban, Glen Coe and Stirling are all within an hour’s drive.

Pros: The lodges themselves were super comfortable, clean and practical. The Benmore lodge bar was also, clean and comfortable with a lovely welcoming vibe as well as peaceful and a place to relax. All staff were great especially John & Jenny who were absolutely amazing and what a truly lovely and kind gentleman John is!

Cons: There isn’t anything we did not like about the property as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and couldn’t praise the staff enough. However, at my own mistake, I wish I realised that Crianlarich is more a place to stop off at, as the surrounding areas by foot aren’t the best for walks. You need a car to get to desired locations - maybe this may help for future customers who like us, do not have a car and want to go on big walks. The stay itself was great and I do recommend!

Cons: Cleanliness of the bathroom, the shower is a mean metal box merely proper for a 3rd grade camping place, the paint in the shower is scratched. There is only one nightstand on one of the bed sides, are no power sockets close to the bed. The breakfast buffet was pillaged by a large group of guests who left more than a quarter of an hour before we arrived, and not replenished. The staff was friendly but overwhelmed, at least one of the two waiters was in his 12th hour of work: he was the night portier who welcomed us at 11pm, on duty all night, and still covering the breakfast. In the buffet lounge a plastic bag was hanging from a pipe close to the ceiling, seemingly to catch a water leak from the roof.
