Pros: Nice place. She cooked up a great Scottish breakfast in the morning. And she let us leave our luggage there while we went to the see the castle, so we didn't have to haul it around which was nice. Pretty much like a b&b. We enjoyed our short time there.
Cons: Had a little bit of trouble finding it on foot from the bus station, as there's some round abouts and foot tunnels on the way. She complained a bit that we didn't call saying we were coming lateish but we didn't have a phone that worked there and things just took a lot longer than expected to get there and find it. (We had been up all night with flights so we were pretty tired though).

Hotel was good value for money. Everything there you needed.
Pros: Clean, friendly staff. Food good
Cons: Was difficult to find once we entered campus. Shower did not work.
Small, basic rooms. Iffy beds, but at least the people were nice.
Cons: No elevator to the second floor. Rooms were on the noisy side (but I guess I can't hold drunken buffoons in adjacent rooms against the hotel, given that I think they knocked on their door and asked them to quiet down).

Very pleasant room and setting built in the grand and well situated former high school of Stirling. Close walk to both the castle and downtown, with lively pubs nearby and good restaurants. Breakfast was good and plentiful with freshly prepared fruit and eggs, buffet style. In the breezeway, the windows are kept so clean and sparkling that I accidentally ran into one, thinking it was not there.
Pros: Very good breakfast and great location.
Cons: Health club and pool were very crowded with locals. Not really for the hotel guests at all. For dinner, excellent food but very slow and strange service. Dining room was virtually empty but we were kept at the bar for half an hour waiting.
