Views were fantastic, the bed was super comfortable (would love to know where the pillows came from) and room was nicely appointed. Would have almost preferred a double shower head given the size of the shower though! Food at Parker St Project was fantastic, and they were very accommodating for dietary requirement.
Overall an expensive stay for what it actually was
Wonderful location and superb restaurant
Breakfast at Parker Street Project wasn’t good
We loved the entire setting and meals were wonderful
Should have stayed longer
The most incredible stay here! We stayed in a cottage. The back door opens directly to Mt Sturgeon with private walking trails starting just a few metres away. In the mornings and evenings we saw kangaroos and even an emu. Only an hour's drive from Halls Gap and some of the more popular walking trails/hikes in the Grampians. The staff go above and beyond here, offering to pick you up and drop you off into town (should you want to have a drink at dinner), and just genuinely considering every aspect of your stay. We dined at both their casual restaurant Parker Street Project and their fine dining restaurant Wickens and both were divine. My partner is vegetarian and they were able to cater for him with ease. Majority of their produce is grown on the property and harvested daily. Dunkeld as a whole is a beautiful little town and all the people we encountered were so lovely and warm!
Not a bad thing but there is no reception inside the cottages (perfect for switching off), so if you need that then probably best to look at their other room options or download some movies beforehand.
Rooms designed for comfort. Excellent staff. Wonderful food particularly in the fine dining restaurant, Wickens, which punches above its two hat rating.
The Royal Mail Hotel, Dunkeld, Southern Grampians is a destination that celebrates nature. The majestic Grampians National Park provides a stunning backdrop to our two restaurants, Wickens at the Royal Mail Hotel and Parker Street Project award winning wine collection, beautiful accommodation, wedding and conferencing facilities. Our nearby Mount Sturgeon Homestead and cottages are steeped in Australian pastoral history and are the perfect place to relax. An easy three hour drive from Melbourne, or one hour from the Great Ocean Road, a visit to the Royal Mail Hotel will leave you inspired.
