Pros: Shirley proved a wonderfully welcoming host. The rooms are large and guests have the use of a downstairs lounge / dining room with TV, fridge with milk, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. The setting is very rural and extremely quiet, a few minutes walk from Rathdowney. We were staying over for a wedding at Castle Durrow, and Shirley (who also runs a hairdressing business from home) was on hand to blow-dry and style at no extra charge! Rathdowney deosn't offer much for eating out in the evening, but there are plenty of options in Abbeyleix (20 mins) or Durrow (15 mins).

Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was incredible...literally a 2 minute walk from the castle and historic center of town. Parking was simple...best thing to do is call as you approach the hotel and ask them to open the gate for you-then pull into the driveway right next to the front door and under the archway. If you don’t find a spot immediately in that area, drive through the second archway to a larger lot in back. Still no spot?..then just double park and give them your keys when you check in... they will move your car when a spot frees up! The desk staff are all wonderful and extremely helpful and the breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had. Hot and cold buffet style but if that doesn’t work for you then you can order off the menu! Fantastic! Thanks to the entire staff for providing us with a great stay in Kilkenny!

Pros: We had an accident in our rental car before arriving to Bridge View. Emer was so amazing to us and made a very stressful time better. She gave great recommendations, and she made the best breakfast we have had in Ireland during our trip. The next morning part of our group had to drive to Waterford to pick up another rental vehicle, and she was kind enough to let us hang around until they were able to return. It was pouring rain and chilly, and she made us tea when we got back from the shops. She was an absolutely amazing hostess, and my entire group and I wish we would have been able to stay longer in Kilkenny. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Pros: Our hostess was as good as they get. She knew the city, inside and out. Her recommendations, suggestions and directions, we're spot on! Quaint 1860's B&B, located right on the river and a short walk to downtown. If you like talking to the local residents, I can't recommend Bridgeview highly enough. I'm glad we stayed 2 nights.
Cons: All was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was very nice and the breakfast was lovely and was served in a very cute breakfast room. Emier, the host was friendly and helpful and the location was excellent for walking. The B & B was very clean and bright. The Parking was pay parking but was quite reasonable and very close
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hostess 4 star breakfast
6.0 Good
Pros: Great service. Room was as advertised. Bathroom very tight, but did the job.
Cons: The front door lock.
7.9 Good
Pros: Room was basic but clean. Location stellar. I was worried when no one answered after several knocks at the door, but when she did open the door she was friendly and kind. And she gave a nice overview of local restaurants and sights. The next morning breakfast was served by a very sweet and lovely gal who was very kind.
Cons: Parking was on the street and we had to “pay and display” but it was close by. Bed was not the most comfortable but it was adequate.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location for exploring Killarney on foot. Simone who served breakfast was lovely.
Cons: Building has timber frame so need to be in upstairs room not below someone. Had very little sleep due to hearing every footstep from room above at midnight, 3am and 7am. Host seconded neighbour to let us in so never met host. Meter parking only. Extra, unneeded bed in room made it very cramped.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was brilliant- walking distance to everything and quiet at night. Eimer and Simone were fabulous- welcoming, wonderful cooks and really helpful. Thanks so much to you both. Emma and Leigh
Cons: Mattress
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We loved the host. She took us in like family. The breakfast was outstanding. The location was perfect.
Cons: The bedroom was a bit small for two and luggage. The water pressure was a bit low but being from the US, not sure if this was normal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I thought it was perfect. Eimer was the perfect host and went way above our expectations. The location was perfect for checking out the main attractions in Kilkenny. All were within walking distance. Her full breakfast was incredible and I would highly recommend her B and B to anyone visiting Kilkenny.

Pros: The Auburndale BnB is a delightful place to stay . An excellent location for getting in and out of Kilkenny and a good starting point for exploring the area. The room was excellent , the facilities were sparkling, clean and comfortable. We even had the luxury of two bathrooms! Patrick and Teresa are excellent hosts. The Irish breakfast was scrumptious. The dining room was light and very welcoming. Tea and coffee ( and biscuits) were available 24/7. This will certainly be our first choice when we visit Kilkenny again.

Pros: Superb hospitality! Great atmosphere and lovely breakfast
7.5 Good
Pros: It was immaculately clean and tidy and Patrick was very friendly. There was coffee and tea available and it was a very good distance from everything.
Cons: The tv was too high and much to small for the size of the room. It was hard to see unless you sat upright against the bedhead. The shower was so small and was very awkward to move at all in it. I found that difficult to turn around in and wonder why there’d be one built so small.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owner, breakfast was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: THe breakfast was gorgeous as was our room, we were at a wedding in Mt. Juliet so it was a bit far from there but very close to Kilkenny City

Pros: The food was absolutely brilliant! Very impressive quality around the hotel. The house was absolutely lovely and the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. Also the surrounding area was stunning. As mentioned below it is a shame our room needed a little work!
Cons: Our Room was a little shabby in places. The bathroom needs better extraction, it also was quite dated and needs refurbishing. Our room was also very hot being on the top floor. We have to sleep with the windows wide open for our whole stay. Also our large bed had 2 single mattresses with an uncomfortable join in the middle. The mattress quality was also not great, it seemed rather old and needs replacing!

Pros: Superb Golf, free bicycles to explore the estate area, quiet and luxurious.
Cons: We could have used a better introduction to the apartment and especially the plumbing. Taking a shower was not simple, and we gave up on the bath.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The stylish and relaxed atmosphere throughout the entire manor house; The dinner at Lady Helen The surroundings and grounds
Cons: Would expect a one piece mattress/bed for a kingsize; the unstylish promotional white Audi and the scrappy bicycles in front of the house (replace with a vintage or less visually obtrusive car, or best park it elsewhere)
10.0 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: All was brilliant with hotel room, staff, bar and room service food. Room was especially quiet despite a wedding and conferences going on. Ambience with lovely comfo couches on each landing for general use which was nice touch.
Cons: Staff at spa which is not owned by staff were lovely and very efficient. The spa was smaller, the decor was not very nice, reception area had extension cords were visible looked like they just moved in. Jacuzzi had sign, no children allowed in it but a dad was sitting it it for ages with 2 very young children usjng it as a baby pool, had to wait until he left to get into it. Also its used by general public not exclusive to hotel guests. Bathing mandatory so i bought 1 but then people in pool with no hats on.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfy Staff really nice Lovely bar, wedding room and Decor Lovely food such a pity about bedroom
Cons: Serious smell of stale smoke in the room got it when we first arrived. It we just dropped bags and went out. When trying to sleep last night it was so bad really annoying but it was late and I knew we couldn’t have moved rooms. It is a non smoking room but someone didn’t listen. Bathroom needs a like work on grout etc and find a few hairs in the bathroom. Paid a lot for the room and it didn’t include breakfast so would have assumed the room would have been 100% and was disappointed.

5.0 Okay
Cons: 4pm check in is way too late. If u arrive before the carpark fee is not covered. I rang before and requested an early checkin. Wud have paid. Locker room ya needed a lock .. maybe supply one as who just carrys a lock around?? After checking in sitting waiting for key. Receptionist just came over gave key. I asked cud she book Kelly's for food for us she said yes.. when we went over nothing was booked. She did not direct us to the rooms or breakfast times ect. The room was roasting and only duvet on beds to top flat sheet how could just sleep in that. Bathroom outdated.. shower pressure dreadful and bath way too slippy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was first class. Nice food and dining area.
Cons: Be careful with the carpark next door. In my experience if you're 10 minutes over time you will be charged at a rate of €9.60 per hour. Not very customer friendly.

Pros: Reception area was lovely and bright.
Cons: The spa was a let down. Very small.
6.0 Good
Pros: Very comfortable bed. Wonderful spa area. Loved the "top to toe" treatments (thanks Laura).
Cons: Went to use the hydrotherapy pool facilities at 9am. Sauna was cold and no steam in steam rooms. Was 9.30am before we could use them (not great when you have paid for the facilities for an hour and then can't use them). Had been informed by the spa staff that breakfast was available until 11am on Monday but when we got to breakfast room at 10.20am, we were abruptly told by a member of staff that breakfast was being cleared away and that we would need to hurry and grab what we wanted. Disappointing end to our stay. We were then overcharged at reception for the use of the spa. Have had lovely stays before but won't be hurrying back again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed there many times, great location to town, staff very attentive, rooms always first class, breakfast a real treat!
Cons: Multiple search sites give different prices than their own. I'm not looking for a lottery.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The food ! We only ate at the Grill Bar and it was exquisite. The pool (not the one in the thermal suite, the other one) was absolute perfect toon. We almost had the place to ourselves. The bed was so comfortable - like sleeping on a cloud.
Cons: A tiny suggestion - but it’s be lovely I’d they put a couple of arm chairs right beside the open fire in Tupper’s Bar.

Cons: Reception of staff at welcome was mediocre, better at checkout. We we first seated for breakfast yet others served before us and took 30 minutes for French toast and eggs Benedict.
