Staff were very nice, we enjoyed the food, breakfast was lovely, location was excellent and our bed was very big and comfortable. Room was large and nicely decorated even though it needed a bit of sprucing up.
Down points were the poor quality of the travel cot provided, we'd have brought one if we'd known and ended up putting the baby in bed with us. The mattress was thin and hard but what was worse is that they didn't have a bottom sheet that fit so had wrapped a flat sheet around the mattress which of course was loose. Anyone with a new baby knows that a tightly fitted sheet is so important and i wasn't happy to let my baby sleep in the cot. Other poor point was that we were above the kitchen. It was really really loud, and a bit smelly. I ended up going downstairs to ask them to turn the fans off around 10pm, which to be fair they did and it was much better. The room itself had been beautiful at some point but was a bit old and shabby and needed a spruce up, the bathroom especially. Breakfast was charged separately to the room and I'm unsure really if all together it was worth what we paid but it was one of the better value hotels in the area for the date we needed to stay.
