Pros: Amazing property..clean & very well presented & maintained. Excellent facilities.. Awesome breakfast.

Pros: The photos shown for this location are gorgeous but the real thing was breath taking. The Sol spa suite we stayed in was perfect, and larger than I expected from the photos.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, amazing view, very friendly staff, highly recommend it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view from the room was spectacular! The room was neat, clean and tasteful. The owner, Mike was polite and friendly and offered to drive us to the wedding we were attending
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent accommodation. The hosts are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Generous welcoming fruits and the like. The place is as good as the photos (or better). The price is reasonable. We shall certainly return if we choose to once again stay in the area.
Cons: Nothing, really. To be picky: there is no kitchen, though there are kitchen facilities such as fridge, micro-wave, toaster, etc. Water had to be obtained from the bathroom which is a mild inconvenience. Bedside light a bit weak for reading, but that was not a real concern.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our Murrindini stay was excellent, from arriving late to a pre-warmed room, to waking to a brilliant view. Mike and Mary's home is well thought out with all that you could desire - including catering for our food intolerance.
Cons: Internet could be better
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lady and the gentleman (I’m so sorry to forgot the names) welcome us with great hospitality. Patiently brief us about the room. I’ll rate the room as 5 stars hotel. It is the best you can find nearby puffing billy.
Cons: The setup of toilet outside the room quite inconvenient but I guess that’s the best they can do in order to fit a small but wonderful kitchen inside the room. Massive amount of insects flying around at the doorstep but again not their fault. Weak WiFi but acceptable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and clean
Cons: Nothing

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Stones Throw Cottage Bed & Breakfast in Dandenongs, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Puffing Billy Steam Train and Sherbrooke Forest. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cute, warm and cosy little cottage!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and romantic. There was an air conditioner but we did not need to use it. Located in a quiet residential street of Belgrave with plenty of street parking and frequent visits from Crimson Rosellas. About a 10 - 15 minute walk to town and Puffing Billy. We also loved the owner's liitle dog..
Cons: Toaster, which was plugged in behind the microwave and not easy to unplug, had a lot of crumbs in it, needs to be emptied more regularly by the cleaner.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Easy walking distance to towns either side and to eateries, a supermarket, etc. If hiring this cottage as a 1 bedroom it is great; just be aware the queen bed is in the open plan room with the small kitchen and lounging area. The bathroom is straight off this area in its own room with sliding solid door (toilet in bathroom). Another door leads to the patio and garden where rosella's come feed off the balustrade in the morning. We didn't realise that the '2nd bedroom' was via external stairs only; and those staying in this external twin bed room need to go outside at night and come into the main cottage right next to the main bed to then enter the bathroom. This was okay for one night for us as we were family, but may be awkward if it were friends or acquaintances sharing the facilities. Has air con. Has a gas log fire that warmed the place nicely. Breaky good (but for the price could have included bacon/eggs as well like the other place we rented did for a cheaper price). Would stay again, owner was lovely too!
Cons: Needs a curtain over the kitchen sink please to make the bedroom/living dark at night. We had to make a makeshift curtain out of a rug to make it darker. Other than that, all was lovely, thank you! :)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The lady was extremely lovely, very helpful and accommodating and we loved all her personal and little touches that made our stay special. Room was nice but maybe a bit outdated and definitely on a lean, but it was clean and very close to where our party was being held so easy to get around from here. Lovely area, great place for a few days visit, lots to do in this area.
Cons: Think the little cottage was definitely in need to be updated. It was clean but our room was on a big lean and it was extremely noticeable. Breakfast although just your basic continental breakfast was lovely and very well presented so a lovely added touch. Cant complain about the friendly service the lady was extremely helpful and lovely to deal with.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely B&B
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere and room were lovely. Margaret (owner) was wonderful, considerate and has a very warm and caring personality. The property is charming and there were many little treats in the room, above and beyond normal accomodation.
Cons: The upstairs loft has a separate entrance from exterior stairs. While most teenagers would love this, ours were a bit insecure by this (one is suffering anxiety). The ad was not specific about the external stairs. But we bunked in the main cottage and sofa bed and had a nice time regardless.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The view out the windows to the garden is picture postcard perfect. The place was really clean and Margaret was very welcoming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every detail attended to. Lovely stay, wonderful hosts, loved the parrots.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Seeing the parrots
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The privacy and respect shown was exceptional. The host Margaret was friendly and very approachable. The surroundings were peaceful and tranquil. Access to all transport, was timely and affordable. The town was full of things to do and see without needing a car. The breakfast was plentiful and there were so many personal touches that delighted us.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Close to Belgrave Heights and Puffing Billy. Rooms warmed up before arrival. Good communication on day of arrival. Breakfast - cereals, bread and juice.
Cons: Wash up of dishes in plastic container.
6.8 Good
Cons: There is only one basin in the whole house and the unit was an extension of the house backyard.. it is not entire house.. And it was eerie if check in after the sky turned dark as the room directly facing a small forest...
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This house is really clean and comfortable. Cleanliness is 5 star Bed and bed sheet is 5 star hotel standard Breakfast is good too.
Cons: The car park is narrow and need to climb a very high slanted slope, which is dangerous for inexperience driver. The gas fire place got a bit problem, we cannot re open it after switch off.

7.5 Good
Pros: It’s a private housing. Landed property with many rooms. All Guests in the house can share use the kitchen, living room and balcony. Toilet have extra heating lights which kept it warm during the winter period. Excellent.
Cons: If there were other guests in the house, I might not feel comfortable sharing the living spaces with them.
3.8 Mediocre

Cons: That no one was on site to manage the behavior of the guests. Also walls a paper thin, everything the noisy guests were doing could be heard.
6.3 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable and location was great.
Cons: There was no kettle or tea making facilities in our room or close by. We needed to negotiate a steep set of stairs to access our room and all facilities. A downstairs washing machine did not work. The refrigerator was not turned on and the rest was a little grubby.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pretty well everything, including breakfast
Cons: The shower - volume too low for the ladies
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The food the steak was tough and the gnocchi sauce needed more flavour
6.8 Good
Pros: Nice modern room
Cons: No lift I’m in a leg brace so found it difficult with stairs wasn’t told until after I had booked there was no lift access
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice cosy atmosphere and a very helpful staff Great location
9.5 Excellent
Pros: the breakfast options that were included were decent and delicious. The room was spacious and quiet considering events happen here. Very nice bathroom and quality rooms for the price
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is beautiful and perfect for a wedding. Room was nice and of good size. However this may very much vary upon which room you are in.
Cons: The shower was a bit old looking. The staff quality varied very much some were good some were not good at all. We asked to get the airco turned off several times during the reception and this was not done even when multiple people asked for it. Again nice place for a wedding but really only go there for a wedding. Breakfast was only served from 8.30 - 9.30. This was a very short window to have breakfast. Make it at least from 8.30 - 10.00 or 10.30. Quality of the breakfast was good.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was wonderful.
Cons: No lift was the only down side, it is very hard for the elderly or people that have problems with stairs, not recommended if you are unable to climb stairs but if you can, it is wonderful and the staff are wonderful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was amazing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good - great full menu and as a vegetarian and my mother is gluten free we were both catered too. But unfortunately you did not provide a cow milk alternative - I am lactose intolerant so not even having a soy milk was a bit annoying it just meant i wasn't able to enjoy a morning coffee. The room was large and had beautiful windows and looked onto the trees which was lovely. The beds were comfortable and the separate space to store your belongings in the walk in was great.
Cons: No soy milk Cold room - there were strict instructions not to turn the heating up above 22 - we should have been able to have had a warm and comfortable room - that was a annoying. The toilet also ran almost all night despite multiple attempts to stop it. But the bathroom door did mean it was barely noticable if it was closed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was perfect, the breakfast was amazing

Pros: excellent supplies for the two days breakfast. great location close to Puffing Billy station

Pros: Very cosey, and in the heart of eating places. Dianne was lovely and very helpful on arrival. The bed was really comfortable, spa was great and shower great pressure.
Cons: We got locked out and had no phone. Went to main house, knocked and buzzed, no answer, went upstairs to other permanent house, no answer, eventually thought to bother the cottage next door and they helped by calling owner. Was very funny but also found it hard to find anyone when needed, it was only 7:30pm ish. If you want to sleep in maybe not a good place as the cottage next door and also permanent residence upstairs, you can hear every footstep. The traffic can be a little noisy too.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Warm and cosy cottage located within walking distance to shops and cafes. Beautiful breakfast with lots of little nice touches. Host Diane was most welcoming. Appreciate the bottle of wine for our birthdays.
Cons: Only minor point was that you could only get channel 7 on TV.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Was cosy with a nice heater, provided some nice food. All in all we had a good night
Cons: Didn’t refill small things like sauce bottle and the sugar, ran out of butter and no oil, couldn’t relax on a couch to watch tv the couch was uncomfortable, only 2 big towels, 2 big towels each would have been nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was gorgeous. Super comfy bed. Awesome breakfast. Diane was a lovely lady and made us feel very welcomed
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: The place has a problem with black mould. Head over to trip advisor and read the reviews - a few other people have mentioned this too and I wish I read these reviews before booking. I don't think it's safe and I wouldn't recommend bringing children or elderly here. Google stachybotrys mould. I developed a bad headache shortly after checking in due to the strong musty/mouldy smell. It wasn't until two hours after checking in I noticed mould growing on the floor boards so I decided to check out for health reasons and because the smell was overwhelming even after I tried to ventilate the room. My experience was made so much worse because of the hostest and I hope I can forget this situation soon. She texted me endlessly after I checked out almost verging on harrassment and refused to refund any of the payment. I tried to give constructive criticism and told her the issues so she could rectify them but she became hostile, overly proud and accused me of insulting her rather than taking advice and acknowledging the problems. I'm not the first to mention the problems to her. The place is unhighgenic. The style is amazing but the furniture smells like it's rotting. There was hair all over the bathroom floor, the carpet hadn't been vacuumed, the bed linen smelled incredibly old. Their were two packets of cheap rice crackers on the bench, a block of camembert cheese and an open vase of milk in an old fridge. As well as that, the bnb is located right next to two busy intersections with loud engines passing through. It's situated on a hill so all the noise travels into the bnb. I couldn't hear any nature over the sound of heavy traffic. It was like being in an old house next to a highway. At the price they're charging it's not worth it. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

Cons: Outdoor lighting

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This beautiful loft like cottage has kitchen, dining and bathroom on the ground floor then up the stairs you have the spacious living room and further a bedroom with queen sized bed. Everything was wonderful with our stay for two nights, we had a wedding in cockatoo about 10min drive was easily able to book an Uber, had to call and tell him to drive up the driveway to the last house on the left. Very clean and fully equipped, this is a b&b they supplied milk tea coffee pods for Nespresso machine and even pantry basics including cereal ♥️ it was very sweet that they thought of everything. The owner was lovely and always greeted us on our stay. We came at 9pm as we drove a long distance had work and got caught in a hail storm. The owner came out with a smile from just a simple message on the app. Very great full for our stay. They have horses as well, beautiful spot to wake up to. Thank you very much Tyneside Gatehouse. You were wonderful. ♥️ Philip & Angela.
Cons: Only think I’ll mention is the shower floor is made from bricks, bathroom is fully new and modern and the brick work flooring suits the style of the home in the kitchen and bathroom area... but I think it would be more hygienic to have easier to clean shower floor. THE SHOWER WAS CLEAN HOWEVER. So I still strongly recommend this place and I’d definitely go back even if they didn’t change the shower flooring. Just a bit of critical feedback. Much love ♥️
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: The layout, bathroom entered through kitchen. One bedroom provided no privacy. It was very clean however and the gardens were lovely.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location in general was fantastic, easy to get to and close enough to facilities in surrounding towns. Proximity to attractions was first rate, not walking distance but central and easy to navigate.
Cons: Maybe should consider a tactile or reflective edge to stair treads as they are potentially dangerous in their current configuration, even though it would be a shame to mark the timber work, it'd be better then broken bones at the bottom. Someone else's' laundry encountered in bedroom chest of drawers. Bed was soft and saggy, but that's personal preference only I guess. Bathroom although clean and tidy was miniscule in proportions and uncomfortable to navigate. In fairness, we only experienced the one bedroom accommodation on offer, the other being a little more stand alone, self contained with more rooms and bigger bathroom, probably a much better experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It felt like home, cosy fire and it was relaxing. Very clean and the host was very helpful.
Cons: That I had to leave.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location and v comfortable bed
Cons: Steps from living room to the kitchen - first slight step down is hard to see and me & my partner both tripped
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very private, modern, clean and with good facilities. The upstairs lounge area is very nice and comfortable. The property is very quiet and away from the main road. Lots of greenery on the property.
Cons: The bed mattress is old with springs, almost collapsed and very uncomfortable to sleep on. The bathroom is a little cramped with wash basin placed too close to the toilet bowl.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed. Facilities were clean and breakfast options were great. Bathroom was great and we loved the giant shower. Hosts brought out books for my 2 year old which was very thoughtful.
Cons: We arrived after dark and had trouble finding the property. No lights out the front which added to the troubles. Anne came out to greet us though which was lovely. Also, I didn’t like all the hardware stored in the kitchen area.
7.0 Good
Cons: The yard was a bit messy out the back and their were power tools etc in the kitchen area, plus I felt the privacy factor was low considering the owners lived in the same house in the front half with only a glass door separating you from them. But lovely people
