Pros (+) The Inn had been built in the 70's and allowed to drift for a while. But there's been a lot of attention to detail recently and it shows. We've been visiting Eugene regularly for over 40 years and have stayed just about everywhere. Valley River's back on the top of the list.

Cons (-) If you buy a room on an online site the Valley River Inn takes away all amenities. No breakfast, etc.. Also when the staff see's your online rate their attitude completely changes to the negative. Restaurants food was very poor and very expensive.

Pros (+) This is one of the older luxury hotels that has been wonderfully maintained. Spacious and beautiful with all the amenities you could want. Gracious staff and the restaurant and lounge were perfect!

Pros (+) I thought the location of the hotel was excellent. The restraint in the hotel was so good that we didn't eat anywhere else during our trip. We loved it here and will come back in the future.

Pros (+) Room service food was excellent. We shared the steak dinner and a Cobb salad. The beef was terrific as was the salad. Even though the hotel is about 45 years old, the room was newly renovated. The furnishings and decorations were very nice.
Cons (-) Our only complaint was the bed was harder than is comfortable for us. Other than that, great stay.
