Good sized comfortable rooms A bit close to the traffic
The room was well-appointed; furnishings were new, modern sleek colours and lines and yet still in keeping with the 'old world' feel of Old England. The bed was very comfortable, heating was adequate and having a space to set-up my laptop and write-up reports after the day's meetings was very convenient (desk area has good lighting, it was the right height for sitting at to work). The room had poor sound-proofing which was not helped by the gaps under the doors to the main corridor. Conversations, TV noise from adjacent rooms and movement in the corridor was an issue after 11pm.
very kind staff, very clean and confort room. Strongly recommended to family travellers.
Great hotel, easily located and friendly staff
Leisure Inn Penny Royal apartments were within easy walking distance to the Brisbane Street Mall and Cataract Gorge, and it was an added bonus that Gourlays Sweet shop and Penny Royal Tavern were also right there on hand!!! The internal staircase was very creaky and poky, but thats about the only issue I had with the apartment
The complex had a great deal of charm and was wonderfully located right next to Cataract Gorge and walking distance to everything for which we were in Launceston (incl York Park for the football - sadly the Hawks lost). Unfortunately there were renovations of the apartment next door to the one we stayed in so the 7am hammering was a bit unfortunate after a late arrival the night before - a little "Fawlty Towers"!! But obviously this would only be temporary so wouldn't affect most visitors.
Enjoyed the old world charm
It was a good basic set of rooms . I quite liked the early times theme. A little noisy mainly from road traffic. The TV reception was not very good.
I think the exterior of the units is European looking and is architecturally attractive. The room was too small.
Very Quaint place, reminded me of England!!! Lot's of history behind this place. Would definately stay there again and recommend to friends and family!! :-)
played golf. dined out could not believe that there was no air con in the room. It was very hot even with a floor fan.
The central location is the best feature. The facilities and staff were also what we were looking for at the time. Not really.
Have stayed there before and its a great location and great place will continue to stay there. Thanks Everything was perfect
Central Location. Great facilities. Food was realy delicious.Great to have 24 hrs roomservice. Roomservice Staff were prompt efficient and smiling.
the location and the cleanliness of the room where second to none..
the location was quiet, easy access to the CBD ample parking at a cost. I only had one little dislike, we ordered breakfast in our room and what we got was not exactly what we ordered.
Good location. The restaurant, we had a $38 steak, it was as tough as rubber and the chef didn't offer any apologies, just said that he would have eaten it, my partner ate it, I couldn't even chew it. I got a pasta dish which was very dry, they didn't charge us for the pasta but did for the steak, wasn't happy. There were a number of other things that we didn't like but I don't have enough room.
Dinner at Snappers No "quality" that would be expected in a big chain non-budget hotel. Water pressure was insufficient for showering, housekeeping interruptions due to no do not disturb signs.
Handy to all the shops & business Felt the dinner was only fair it was cheaper to eat out much better selection
it was central to the shops, and close to all amenities. it is to close to the clubs,or the clubs were to loud at night,
The clean white sheets after walking the overland track
old mattress on bed
friendliness of all the staff, proximity to the centre of town and beautiful decor. urine stains in the tile grout in our last room. Need a good hands and knees scrub.
Breakfast was excellent. It is clearly aging and deaos not seem to get reinvested.
Professional and comprehensive service; convenient location, easy parking. Garbo's noise at 05:00!!!!! And generally on our holiday we have found internet access to be expensive, ad-hoc, and not satisfactory. Specifically I cannot remember the Launceston; but really most need a good shake up ...
Location, room size, helpful staff.
location the room was full of ants
It is in a good location. On the first night there were a group of very loud young men who talked all night and moved from room to room. If there is a group of young men they will make noise (we all know that!) so they should be booked away from other clients. We were moved the next night and the staff were very responsive but were exhausted as a result of disturbed sleep.
1) Hotel location 2) Comfort 3) staff 4) food Breakfast cost
This hotel is in an excellent location and staff are friendly and room waqs great. The only thing I would change is I would increase the choices on the dine in menu
Position is good within walking distance of CBD. Rooms are a good size and staff very obliging. We have stayed here previously and the rooms appear to have been refurbished. OUr breakfast tray was delivered as requested the previous night (early departure). Refurbished bathrooms do not have any space to put toiletries and only pump soap is provided. No shower cap/shampoos/body lotion supplied. Towels of very average quality. Room key did not work in first instance requiring a trek back to reception.
Nice large rooms, clean and with a refurbished feel. Freindly staff. Good location. Good value for money. On site parking. Debited my credit card when I made the booking.
Convenience for the city.Parking available.we were even offered use of parking for the rest of the day after checking out.
height of rooms!
Extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable front desk staff. Substantial breakfast buffet. Huge TV in the room.
Helpful, welcoming staff. Good sized room. Great central location.
Close to shopping and many choices for dining out.
a comfortable and quiet stay in Launceston
Close to the cbd.
location is good. room was excellent leather sofa, plasma flat screen, continental breakfast plentiful
in the city. very central didn't sleep well
The friendliness and cooperation of the staff was excellent, the facilities clean and the area was quiet.
The staff are very pleasant and friendly The shower needed a few repairs
Quiet and peaceful No
Big room No free internet access.
the location was excellent - close to Launceston city facilities and my conference venue. woken at 3am with loud voices outside my room arguing and swearing - couldn't get back to sleep, and disturbed by the impending violence. Thankfully it didn't happen, but the disturbance went on for at least 10 minutes without any response from management.
Friendly, clean and comfortable
Clean, neat & tidy. Reasonably close to town and attractions.
close city location, reasonable comfort for the price. noise factor. pipes "hammer" very loudly whenever other rooms use water/shower so had no sleep which detered me from staying next time and have booked into the country club for our next two night stay in launceston.
Staff were very accommodating for complicated bookings and attentive to all needs
We liked the the large expanse of gardens and wildlife eg wallabys, ducks, rabbits, swans all which were quite tame. Views from front rooms all of mountains overall very relaxing. The deluxe rooms were large and good value for money. As everything is close in Launceston it did not matter that it was a 5 minute drive out of the city.
Facilities were good, room was comfortable and clean, and the food was tasty
The reception girls where OK however when we complained about the broken bed in the second room they advised they will put a report in did not offer to shift us again, so it was a very uncomfortable night. We could not wait to get out of there as soon as we could. Well yes we requested a quiet room with veiws and it wasn't. Then requested to change rooms and they put us right next to the lift. Then the bed was broken, it was a disaster. Then we did not know that there's was a casino attached we we both don't like. It felt cheap and nasty We only stayed one night we couldn't wait to get out of there.
Convenient and sufficently comfortablefor Airport overnight stopover
Valet parking -beauty massage centre-beautiful scenery-the casino-nice bar with leafy outlook -same for the restaurant no-not really -thought the a la carte menu in the Links dining room could be healthier eg caesar salad was swimming in salad dressing-buffet looked amazing but who needs that amount of food when travelling-special occasions excepted
We loved the luxuriousness of the king suite - we did not think this type of accommodation was available in Tasmania. We would love to stayagain next time we are in Tassie. It was great value for money. Thankyou, Robyn. I found the colour scheme rather challenging at first - with the lime green & pinky orange rather gaudy - but the luxury shone through & I didnt worry about the colours afte my initial shock.
The grounds were beautifully landscaped providing a relaxing enviroment. The Casino part of it ...
The Grand Atmosphere and helpful staff
To travel in Tasmania and find satisfactory accommodations at what to us is a reasonable price, i.e approximately $150 per night, this was a fine option. We are not into gambling so that aspect did not interest us. Otherwise, the hotel was like any roadside accommodation with a little more pretense than we would find in the US for about $90 to $100 a night. Nice pool and a nice room. Nice gift shop. I'd like to find similar accommodations at the same price in Tasmania and throughout Australia. B&Bs are a better bet for us because we do not like to pay $250 plus a night for a nice, but not grand or great place to stay. The place is expensive except for these gambling meccas and that will limit our travel in the future. We come to Australia every year to visit our daughter and family. The cost of travel in Australia, however, means less time spent out and about. The low end food at the Country Club was really bad and I wish we had explored options, but that was our fault. I have no substantive complaints about this hotel except that I wish Australia had similar accommodations without the gambling structure.
The quality of the decor and furniture. The convenience to my conference venue.
Good location, staff were very helpful. This is my third time there. The room was a bit tight on the basics like washing powder, dishwasher powder and dish washing liquid. These could be topped up daily. When you spend $700 or $800 bucks for the week its more the time waster of having to go downstairs to pay $1 for extra washing powder. I wash most days as I only carry a small amount of gear.
position re city access staff great to deal with . stairs. no warning/ i am 65 recovering from ope heart operation need to have options in future..
Comfortable and ease of parking just across the road.
Location good, room cleaned each day, staff very friendly No wi-fi
Very clean and modern. Good layout in the 2 bedroom apartments. Family friendly. Very good staff who were very helpful and professional. The clock was annoying as it went off numerous times throughout the night. We were also kept awake on Friday night with what sounded like a live band playing nearby and nightclub music. It was very noticeable. The clock should only chime up until 10pm and then from 8am the next morning!
Well appointed and very comfortable suite. To have the flexibility to eat in or out within the CBD of Launceston is a feature to me. Very Unstable fridge that needs feet adjustmnet. Not an issue really, just informing you.
staff where great and attentive the town clock
Friendly staff. Early check in and late check out. Right in the city. Bathroom drain was broken and smelly. 1 tv in 2 bedroom appartment. Parking charge.
Very close to the business that we had to attend. The town clock chimming loudly kept us on track.
Pleasant room. Excellent proximity to city. Balconies. All extras charged for. Nothing seemed to come without a price on it. Parking was charged for and was a very tight fit.
modern design, king size bed,the balcony, deep bath, pleasant and helpful reception. no exhaust fan in toilet and bathroom. kettle having to be plugged into bathroom and stained and dirty looking hallway carpets. '
The room was lovely and spacious, I especially loved the king sized bed.
Layout of the lounge with a separate bedroom is very nice. The Church Bell!
Our booking was a complete balls up. Even though our booking was comfirmed, the Sebal didn't receive the reservation. The staff there were wonderful (even though it wasn't their fault) and tried to accommodate our needs even though the appropriate room wasn't avaliable. Great staff!! No, not a problem with the Hotel, big problem with the booking site, it was slack, unprofessional and completely inconvenienced us!!
Very spacious apartment; excellent value for money. Had small gym on site and facilities for cooking. Walking distance to the gorge. Disapointing the hotel restaurant was closed on Easter Monday especially as everything was closed down in the city. I think as tourist accommodation (with lots of tourists over easter) a hotel the size of the Sebel should keep it's facilities open
Lovely room. Convenient location. Shower had absolutely no water pressure.
clean room, efficient staff, comfortable surroundings, no overnight noise. Great place to stay overnight and relax restaurant wasn't open whilst we stayed
Its 10mins drive from airport and 2mins drive to busy street, where u can enjoy food and do shoping for basic food. Room is quite big. It is designed for families. There are 2 layers, where 2 bedrooms are downstairs. Each bed has electric blanket, even though the room is already equipped with air-conditioner. The swimming pool and spa are indoor, so we could go swimming in the cold days. There is a city view from our balcony. And outlook of inn site itself is fascinating, very beautiful. There is no room laundry, but u could wash clothing in public laundry room for $3per wash and $3per dry. The staff in the hotel is quite nice and willing to help us. We experienced a storm during the stay in Launceston. And whole hotel was out of power for about 30mins at 10pm.
