Good location, quiet and not too expensive.
The staff and customers were very friendly The room was very compact and the small bore plumbing did make quite noise when flushing the toilet but this was shortlived
Friendliness of staff, position of hotel. Food was well cooked and presented, and reasonably priced, all made for an enjoyable stay. Keep up the good work. Well done to all, thank you.
Town centre location The menue was expencive compared to similar pub hotels that we have stayed in
Size of room; heat, cleanliness. Overall quality of food served. Friendly approach of staff. Unfortunate that the pub does not serve bar meals on Sunday evenings, and was not serving on New Year's Eve. This was understandable, but somewhat inconvenient.
Room above pub where band played until 1110' no sound insulation, when complained was asked to join in and have free drink on them.
The room was quaint and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked that this was not a large chain hotel. The only negative comment I have is that the toilet in our room ran all the time (but, nothing a minor plumbing repair wouldn't fix).
It was a nice character building. Cosy The room was at the front on the street and it was noisy there was also a lot of noise from a banging door late afternoon early evening from the pub below.
Plenty of room to move around. Bed was comfortable and the Breakfast Superb! The Toilet roll rail was loose and the TV had only the basic five channels so definatley needs upgrading to have the Freeview Digital Channels! And coludn't get to sleep until after 11pm when the pub closes.
near the city centre could do with re decoration.
Friendly staff and closeness to city centre. Pub had cosy fire. No free parking.
Excellent staff, wonderful location and fantastic value for money. Thank you Nothing
Location, bar area was lovely Shower tray didn't drain, curtains hanging off rail, strange smell in stairwell, tv in room only had 4 channels, not freeview like most other 4 star hotels. This was a 3 star hotel at best, sorry
location could not arrange breakfast before 8.00
The cleaniness and friendly staff
Hotel rooms in need of renovation
friendly staff na
Convenience, comfortable room and food excellent Room was on the 'road side' so noisy at pub closing time
Lovely hotel situated in a very quaint village. Food was excellent. The staff friendly and accommodating to our needs. Unfortunately our bedroom was over the boiler room and the pump was giving out a huming noise all night.
good food, comfortable bed no
Location and atmosphere. Nice pub and lovely open fire. Breakfast was wonderful Nothing
The staff were particularly friendly and catered to all the needs of our party (20 people in total). Our room was in a converted old building and was very compact. It was fine for one night - not sure that I would want to spend more than a couple of days in that room.
Everything it was perfect
relaxed and friendly
Friendly staff great food quiet location. Bedroom was above kitchen with a noisy boiler or extractor fan
Cosy, historical room. Excellent food at breakfast and dinner. Convenient parking.
The smell of the foliage! but not a major problem.
The location was excellent in a quiet village. The room itself was confortable and well appointed, quite charming. The staff were friendly and attentative and the food very good.
Helpful staff, efficient service, tasty food, spacious and modern accommodation
Friendly & gave impression of a Family run type of hotel. Exceptionally well run, all round enjoyable experience. Will recommend easily to anyone wanting to use facilities locally.
The room was excellent and the location very good. I thought the breakfast for vegetarians was very limited even having phoned previously to check their would be a good selection. The portion given for vegetarians was exceptionally small.
The rooms were comfortable and well equipped We stayed 2 nights on 2 separate occassions. The second time was very cold. Apparently they had problems with the heating - we learnt on departure. We had a very cold uncomfortable night!!
very pleasant setting and liked it since the first time I stayed there,
Cleanliness of room, breakfast service For a single, a little on the pricey side
Good Parking facilities which is important, very clean room, spoilt by one of the lights not working. Bathroom excellent NA
very helpful and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them
perfect little pub hotel, faultless
The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was very homely, only item missing was the real fire in the lounge! Bedroom was good and comfortable and it was nice an quiet overnight - no sound of cars or revellers on the street! The food was not to the standard I would have expected of a country inn at the prices being charged. Lack of thought to presentation - a large "splodge" of mashed potatoes was on the plate with a breast of pheasant, and the same for fillet of lamb. Meat portions could have been slightly bigger. Breakfast in the morning was rather poor in quality - croissant was either stale or had been overheated, tea was not hot and service took too long,. Insufficent staff in morning for the number of guest coming down at one time., Would have been better to have done a self service cold buffet style breakfast and taken the pressure of the one girl serving and allowed guests to get their breakfast promptly.
Staff very nice, they seemed happy, no sour faces here! 5 minute walk to Canterbury town centre. Food was good, service also good. No delay upon checkout either. None really
Very clean and well maintained. Lots of hot water. There were four of us in the room, but they only provided two cups.
It is a place you go back to as a family home. Lovely people and a great location.
Well situated, nice room ,quiet, good car park, nice breakfast. Noisy plumbing during the night.
We had a large family room, which was very comfortable and warm during a very cold period. Only BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, and Channel 4 available on tv.
lovely room helpful staff we had a couple of late nights and could have done with breakfast later than 9pm
We stayed in Room No.3. The staff were all helpful and polite. I cannot fault it in any way.
Exceptionally clean Hotel with perfectly prepared room. Top quality bed linen and towels. Relatively small en-suite but with large shower compartment. Spotlessly cleaned. Excellent breakfast worthy of London 4 star Hotel. None
location was ideal to visit cathedral and museum I do not think this is a 4 star hotel
It was slightly off the main drag so it was quieter in the evenings, but only a 10 minute walk to pubs and restaurants. If you go down to breakfast after 9am they appear to run out of some food but make up for it with something else i.e no sausages so gave extra bacon, in the coach house after 11pm the outside door shuts and there was no light shining for you to find the keyhole, parking was a bit hit and miss
The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good The bathroom facilities were a bit primitive
Friendly, helpful staff. Attractively decorated and furnished. Very comfortable bed. Very clean and well maintained. Great food. I was initially told that full English breakfast was not included in the room rate, and would be an extra £9.50 this was resolved on my 2nd morning.
Good food .Helpful staff.good value for money.pleasant atmosphere Very small room.wardrobe had only 2 hangers.only 1 bedside table in double room.no electric shaver point
Room was fantastic and staff were very friendly. Food and service were great too. Only thing is the waitress didn't know what Pinot Grigio was, nor much about the menu items. Ran out of vinegar too.
Friedly staff & comfortable atmosphere Current Menu not really to our taste
Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable mattress. Good evening meal. Breakfast buffet offering could have been more extensive ... eg better variety of juices, etc.. Worst point = bathroom extractor fan did not work and bathroom had no windows.
Food No shower
Friendly staff, Well looked after rooms, lovely village and countryside around hotel, good well-cooked food, good value for money stay. No real bad points but no economy cooked evening meals - we eat by way of supporting hotel. Premium on sausage/bacon because of rare breeds - certainly tasted good.
Old, character, good restaurant, excellent suite with 4 poster, friendly staff Smallest room vey hot, no curtain in bathroom, designer breakfast
The food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. Was very pleasant and relaxing place to be There was not a comfy place to sit in the bar area
The room was beautiful and comfortable and it's a short bus ride into Canterbury. The food and beer they serve is excellent. The staff was very polite and helpful but could have been friendlier but maybe that's just England. Small complaint of a very nice accomdation.
