8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good price, quantity and price
Cons: Tables bit sticky
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice big bathroom, lovely and clean
Cons: Receptionist was an officious woman. There seems to be a rather overbearing and decidedly depressing policy that I, as a grandmother cannot share a bed with my grand daughter. When I told her I had booked a twin room she said that was OK! .It's a ridiculous and meaningless policy made all the more nonsensical when on showing me to my room declared that, "oh it's been made up as a double anyway" and left it at that presumably because at that point she couldn't be bothered to follow Weatherspoon' s stupid policy. Whilst I understand that they should be vigilant to any untoward goings on, it is not for them to police their guests in such a heavyhanded and suspicious way.

Pros: Stayed on my wedding night, after a long day of drinking and ours seemed to be the only room.that didnt have bottles of drinking water in it. When I mentioned it to reception the next day, after I explained that I didnt want to ring reception at 3am and wake my husband up, she said that I "could have drank water from.the bathroom tap". The room was very small and I dont feel worth the £189 price tag.
Cons: That there was no water in the room and the room was small - we intentionally booked what we thought would be an impressive room for our wedding night.

8.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is an incredible house and the decor is spectacular. The hosts were fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. The homemade breakfasts were perfect and the attention to detail in the room was spot on. Overall, Shepherd House exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to come back again.
Cons: Other reviews have commented on there being no door on the en suite bathroom in the room. Although this didn't cause my husband and I a problem, I can see how this may be unsatisfactory for some people.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location - moments from the station, less than 5 minutes walk to the town centre, and beautiful countryside within 15 minutes. We took the Saxon Walk all the way to Whitstable on a sunny Saturday which took just over 2 hours (with a pit stop at the Sportsman for a drink). Perfect to use as a base for exploring the surrounding area. Our large room was lovely - bright, airy and clean - though the open plan bathroom isn’t for everyone’s taste. Breakfast for me was the absolute highlight, served in the stunning living room. Simon and Clare were fantastic hosts (and chefs), checking in and giving recommendations for our whole weekend. We can’t wait to go back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clare was an amazing host, greeting us with a glass of champagne to recommending things for us to do. Breakfast was delicious! But the house itself was so beautiful and very well decorated.
Cons: Nothing! Had a wonderful stay and the house was simply stunning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect from start to finish, the hospitality of Claire and her team, the design and comfort of the public areas and bedroom and - our favourite part - the breakfast. Delicious ingredients, all locally sourced and cooked to perfection so that each day began perfectly.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at The Sun Inn in Faversham, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Whitstable Beach and Shepherd Neame Brewery. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All good!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I didn't take breakfast. Location was ideal. Staff were very helpful.
Cons: Car parking was a bit awkward, needing to top up charges regularly, perhaps the hotel could seek to have an arrangement in place with the public car park to the rear of the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just a very frendly place.Very good breakfast
Cons: Liked it all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: extremely large, more than 16 square metres my guess. very well equipped even disosable razor and cream if needed
Cons: UK showers not as good as home
6.8 Good
Pros: Bar, breakfast and service
Cons: The room needed updating, poor shower, noisy macerator
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This historic inn oozes character. It has traditional oak panelled bar and restaurant and also a pleasant shady terrace lined with plants. We sat in the shade there as it was almost too hot to move!
Cons: The property was ideal for our needs
7.5 Good
Pros: Good choice of cooked breakfast. Excellent Fish & Chips. Very spacious and well equipped room overlooking the pedestrianised street. Centrally located for many attractions, Leeds Castle, Canterbury etc.
Cons: Beer Garden could do with a bit of a make-over, it's looking a bit tired. I'm afraid I did not like the memory foam mattress, it was OK sleeping on it but I suffered Back-ache in the morning. A pity they cannot do a deal with the council for car parking as it is a pain (and expensive) having to renew tickets.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was fab and the atmosphere was good too. The Sun Inn offered value for money and the room was of a very good standard. Bed was really comfortable and the room decor was tastefully done with high quality furnishings. Breakfast which was included in the price of the room was a delightful bonus to our stay. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
Cons: One area that needs to be improved would be the breakfast dining area. The door that led from the dining area into the hall where the kitchen is and the stairs leading to the upper floor was dirty and worn probably due to the volume of people using it. Where the guy placed us in the dining area meant that I had to look at it during eating my breakfast. Also, there was a leak from the ceiling close to our table and the guy put a very dirty yellow bucket underneath to catch the water. Again not very nice to look at whilst eating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a great place, clean and tidy with great food on hand breakfast was eccellent and staff are very friendly. Best value for money I have had in Kent.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent

4.7 Okay
Cons: Room above pub where band played until 1110' no sound insulation, when complained was asked to join in and have free drink on them.
7.0 Good
Pros: Plenty of room to move around. Bed was comfortable and the Breakfast Superb!
Cons: The Toilet roll rail was loose and the TV had only the basic five channels so definatley needs upgrading to have the Freeview Digital Channels! And coludn't get to sleep until after 11pm when the pub closes.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good location, quiet and not too expensive.
5.7 Okay
Pros: The staff and customers were very friendly
Cons: The room was very compact and the small bore plumbing did make quite noise when flushing the toilet but this was shortlived
6.0 Good
Pros: It was a nice character building. Cosy
Cons: The room was at the front on the street and it was noisy there was also a lot of noise from a banging door late afternoon early evening from the pub below.
7.2 Good
Pros: The room was quaint and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked that this was not a large chain hotel.
Cons: The only negative comment I have is that the toilet in our room ran all the time (but, nothing a minor plumbing repair wouldn't fix).
6.4 Good
Pros: Size of room; heat, cleanliness. Overall quality of food served. Friendly approach of staff.
Cons: Unfortunate that the pub does not serve bar meals on Sunday evenings, and was not serving on New Year's Eve. This was understandable, but somewhat inconvenient.
5.6 Okay
Pros: Town centre location
Cons: The menue was expencive compared to similar pub hotels that we have stayed in
6.0 Good
Pros: Friendliness of staff, position of hotel. Food was well cooked and presented, and reasonably priced, all made for an enjoyable stay. Keep up the good work. Well done to all, thank you.

3.3 Mediocre

Cons: There was nothing we did not like - it was good standard

Pros: Excellently located on the outskirts of town, this hotel is clean and pleasant, without being exceptional, with friendly and helpful staff. All in all, it was a very comfortable two night stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I always like staying here, staff are always pleasant, facilities good and food always nice too Most of the rooms look they have been recently refreshed too

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for 4 nights as we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, and it lived up to expectations. The staff were really friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful, we would certainly visit again. The rooms were comfortable and clean as was the whole place. We ate restaurant and bar meals and both were excellent. All in all a lovely few days.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely secluded hotel. Easy access but surrounded by trees and greenery. Quiet and peaceful. Nice restaurant with helpful and friendly staff. Good food, clan and spacious rooms.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: When we booked, we looked for a place where it's easy to walk the dogs. This hotel is ideal, as it's situated in a little park. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was prefect that the hotel has a restaurant too, so we hadn't to go out for dinner after a long drive. We could sit outside before, on the patio and had a drink. For us, being on the way up north England, the hotel is perfectly situated and because of the green/park around it, you could easily relax before continuing the last long drive.
Cons: Everything was ok.
6.0 Good
Pros: Room provided all required facilities. Large comfortable bed. Good service and quality of breakfast.
Cons: Parts of the room were not warm enough. Lighting was not adequate/appropriately arranged to support working at the desk.
6.0 Good
Pros: Great location, nice quiet countryside, lovely hall and bar, nice food, very welcome, worth a visit but check events there, doing a few and might be worth booking in for!
Cons: Room was cold, when arrived.
7.7 Good

7.7 Good
Pros: The room was very well decorated and furnished. We received perfect customer service - even from someone carrying a pot of paint!!
Cons: The room was quite cold when we got there but after the heater had been on for 15 mins it was cosy!!
4.7 Okay
Pros: The hotel is in a lovely location and the rooms are comfotable and clean, There is a nice bar and lounge area.
Cons: No bath in the room and a very small bathroom.
6.8 Good
Pros: Newly refurbished rooms. High standard of cleanliness. Ample free parking. Polite and helpful staff. Good selection on breakfast menu which was very tasty. Good location, situated in nice quiet parklands just a few minutes drive from Faversham town centre.
Cons: Not enough wardrobe space. No chest of drawers for clothing. Poor lighting in bathroom and no shaver point. No clock or phone in room. These are only small points which may be addressed once refurbishment is complete and did not spoil our stay at all.
5.6 Okay
Pros: The family who run this hotel are really trying, it is a new venture and they deserve to succeed. They are friendly, cheerful and helpful. The dining room is light and pleasant and breakfast was very good. Our evening meal was of a fair standard and value for money.
Cons: If I had not previously booked and had just driven up to this hotel I would not have even entered,it does not look like an hotel and the surroundings are rather derelict as this is part of an older hotel that was destroyed by fire. However I would have been the loser. They still have some way to go getting things quite right in the rooms (mirrors and electric plugs etc and no glasses in the bathroom) but these are only minor.
6.8 Good
Pros: Excellent staff - the 2 guys are extremely friendly and helpful and making an enormous effort. The rooms were well decorated.
Cons: Lumpy bed on 1 side. Shower going hot/cold.
6.0 Good
Pros: Reception, restaurant, views and peace and quiet.
Cons: Bathroom.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous hotel with amazing atmosphere and our room was gorgeous. Big, comfy and had everything in there that you need including hairdryer (always a bonus). We didn't have their breakfast as we wanted to share our Faversham visit with other small businesses. Would stay here again for sure.
Cons: Nothing.
5.0 Okay
Pros: I deliberately booked this location because I am a train nut but perhaps more could have been made of the property's obvious heritage The property is a little tired and the shower didn't have a curtain on the window which made a late shower interesting, to say the least. I have, on occasion, paid less and received more. Staff were helpful enough. The restaurant was certainly fine from a value/quality perspective and the breakfast was up to scratch, shall we say, with nice quality food. Private car park off the road, so that was nice.
Cons: Hairdryer would have been nice. Very noisy location on the junction of a busy couple of roads.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location opposite the station, ideal for a short visit from London. The downstairs pub looks welcoming and the breakfast was typical ‘Full English’ although not exciting. Very little street noise and parking is free.
Cons: Facilities a bit basic but OK for the price.
8.0 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Accommodating & friendly staff. Lovely pub below rooms. Rooms spacious, clean with essentials.
Cons: Bathroom could do with updating to improve the look of cleanliness. As shower/toilet were older they looked worn but were visually clean.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness of the staff, the other customers & how clean all the rooms were
Cons: There was a little mix up with the amount if rooms we required so were charged for 1 more than we needed but this was soon rectified

Pros: Really the best accomodation in my one week trip through southern England. Really good and helping staff, clean, comfortable rooms but it was the food that put this place really above everybody else. Tasty fine fish and great variety of drinks.
Cons: Nothing to improve. Perfect as it is.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The public areas are lovely and charming - the restaurant bars and beer garden are lovely and the food is great. Breakfast is really good quality and we had a lovely dinner. The rooms are ok for the price.
Cons: The rooms are ok. The bathroom extractor fan was full of fluff, but the bedding was clean and crisp and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The corridor to the bedrooms smelt a bit but it did smell in the room

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast very good Bed very comfortable Staff friendly and efficient
Cons: I found the car park quite scruffy which didn't give a very good first impression.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: nothing
Cons: very bad hygiene, very old and not well maintained sanitaire, bed and bedlinen, smelly/penetrating air in hallways, leaking taps. very dusty and lime deposit in the kettle. after we checked in, went to the room, inspected it returned the key and went to another hotel to stay the night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, very quiet even with the windows open, great night's sleep, easy drive into Canterbury the next morning. Perfect.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved my night here! It was quirky, cool, and very relaxing. Sadly I had to leave too early for breakfast because the food looked amazing. Loved my super kind bed!
Cons: I arrived at a really busy point on a Saturday evening so I didn't mind/ expected to wait, but I went through to the bar area just to let someone know I would be waiting there when they were ready. The bar staff were a bit harassed and probably thought I was nagging them so they weren't overly friendly. It would have been nice to get a smile, as I got the impression that overall it was a very nice place. Other than that I had no other interaction with staff because I left early so nothing brought it back round, but I loved my room and had a very nice stay overall.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast.
Cons: The room was so hot because the air con had not worked for months which made it very difficult to sleep. To make it worse we could not open the windows. Not enough staff at times. Our room that we booked online looked nothing like we got. Outside areas need a tidy-up.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Working air conditioning staff who could actually work a computer to check you in lights that worked not having 3extra charges on my credit card staff that could rectify their mistakes and not have me spending a day and half trying to get someone to sort it out not cutting me off on the phone when I was complaining about these charges the whole staff from the manager down need training in customer service
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and facilities
Cons: Could do with a refurbesment as looking a little tired in the rooms.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The bar but very dated hotel all together
Cons: Turned up and didn’t have our booking, they had a standard room available luckily but was the same price as executive. Breakfast not replenished so it was cold. Air con in the room didn’t blow cold only heat, toilet wouldn’t stop running water all night. Small room and bad room lighting
7.5 Good
Pros: Its clean and classy
Cons: Th ac was not working in the hotel. Had to adjust with one fan .. we were actually sweating the whole night.
