Pros: location, service, room, view, proximity to great restaurants and the best/easiest wifi at any hotel we've stayed...
Pros: Ocean view.
Cons: Old shower heads.
Outdated music appliances.
Unromantic decor and feel, kind've hospital-like.
Located in Beach Cities, this beachfront hotel is in the historical district, 0.2 mi (0.4 km) from Malibu Pier, and 2.2 mi (3.5 km) from Pepperdine University. Malibu Lagoon State Beach and Surfrider Beach are also within 1 mi (2 km).
Pros: The staff was lovely, very kind and everyone went out of their way to make us feel very comfortable.
Cons: I really can not think of one thing that I did not like.
A great choice for a stay in Malibu, Calamigos Guest Ranch and Beach Club features a winery where you can enjoy a glass of local wine. You can indulge in deep-tissue massages, body wraps, or aromatherapy, and Malibu Cafe, one of 5 restaurants, serves Californian cuisine and is open for lunch and dinner. 3 outdoor pools and a beach bar are other highlights at this upscale hotel, and rooms offer up nice touches like iPod docks, rainfall showerheads, and pillowtop beds with Egyptian cotton sheets.
Malibu Riviera puts you within a 15-minute drive of Pepperdine University. Guests will have free perks like WiFi, self parking, and wired Internet. Rooms offer up nice touches like MP3 docks, premium bedding, and down comforters.
Pros: The room was clean and the bed was comfotable and the staff were friendly
Cons: There were few amenities and parking was tight. There was nothing special about the patios.
Pros: It was close to our relatives house so convenient for our family reunion.
Cons: Wifi -bad & you had to log in every time you started a new session. The towels were cheap-thin, rough and shed. Soap-one small 1 inch round soap for our three day stay. No water glasses and cheap paper cups for lousy coffee. Dirty. ----+tax/night
Pros: Limited options in Malibu, this was the best one
Cons: Very expensive and not maintained well. Indifferent staff.
Pros: Great quiet location up a hillside from the PCH. Cute little pool, nice (but pricey) restaurant. Many rooms have balconies with peek-a-views of nearby Zuma Beach.
Cons: If you leave anything at home, like toiletries, forget about getting anything from the front desk.
The staff was very caring and helpful. I would definitely recommend it to friends, family and peers :)
Pros: Super close to the beach just a few minutes walk..
Cons: The pool was not as clean or well taken care of as it should be..
At Malibu Country Inn, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Pepperdine University. Guests can splash around at the outdoor pool or grab a bite to eat at the restaurant. There's also a garden, and rooms offer balconies or patios and flat-screen TVs.
Pros: The location is solid if you want to have access to both Santa Monica and Malibu. Easy check in.
Cons: Very overpriced for what you get. Should be $100 per night. I am used to staying in expensive hotels. They just get away with their prices because they are cheaper than high end hotels in Malibu and better than the other motels. Yes, they are motel and not a hotel.
Cons: Street noise was awful-due to no AC the windows had to be opened. Bring your ear plugs.
Pros: Room was very large and clean, even the bathroom was large.
Cons: The room was a bit dark with all the lights on. The TV was very small and the picture was terrible and the remote didn't work for power only for changing channels. There was a large closet with a couple pillows in the top and no cover or door- would look much nicer with a curtain or door and brighter lighting in general. I would also add curtains to the window which had blinds for full darkness.
At The M Malibu, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Pepperdine University. Guests can take a dip in the outdoor pool, and freebies like WiFi and self parking are added perks. There's a terrace, and rooms offer balconies or patios and flat-screen TVs.
