Staff went out of their way to make my experience the best. And it was.
Beautiful hotel, good service, nice pool and beach, great kids program
This was my second visit to Amelia Island and staying at the Ritz. The amenities are fabulous. Loved being right on the beach and the pool area was well appointed and clean. The staff is always welcoming and helpful. The Spa is beautiful and one of the best I have been to. I look forward to more visits when time allows.
We so THOROUGHLY enjoyed our stay at this Ritz-Carlton property, it's certain we'll return. We came with our 6 year old twins, a bit concerned since they're still young (it is a Ritz afterall), but we couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. We showed up with no reservation due to a problem at another (non-Ritz) property, but were instantly welcomed and taken care of. EVERYONE at this property loves their job and it SHOWS. Beautiful surroundings, great restaurant choices, nice rooms and amenities, and plenty for kids to do (a very nice pool outdoors and another indoors, plus, of course, the beach). No charge for beach chairs and umbrellas (unlike other places on Amelia Island), an outstanding Ritz Kids club (ours went shark tooth hunting on the beach), and one of the best Spas around. The view from almost any room (I'm guessing) is beautiful. Gorgeous sunrises! You will love your stay here. And bring your kids - you will all be happy you did!
I stayed here one night while I was in town on business. The staff was friendly and professional. The room was great--the bathroom was huge--and the view was incredible. Great bath products (loved getting a loofah.) Bed was extremly comfortable and the pillows were comfortable as well (and I am not usually a fan of down pillows.) Had dinner at 'Salt' and was really impressed. The food was delicious and the presentation and theming were just as good. Would definately stay here again. Had a little issue with my internet connection, but help was sent up right away (at almost midnight) to assist with getting me up and running.
The grounds are beautiful! The staff is very friendly, greets you by name. They were just not on their game for our stay at the end of April 2009. I do not understand why there is a charge for internet connection in your room. And I think they should drop this. We came back from the beach one morning and interupted housekeeping. We cleaned up and went out for the afternoon. But the maid never came back to finish the room. The faucet in the bathroom dripped and the door handle going to the balcony was loose. We reported both and in the 4 nights we were there neither was fixed. Wait service at Breakfast was slow and non responsive. Get the buffet.
A gorgeous white-sand beach, fun activities for kids, a spa, a world class restaurant for dinner, beautiful rooms and suites that are very well insulated and have awesome views and lovely balconies. The Ritz on Amelia Island is of my favorite destinations for romantic or family get aways!
My husband and I wanted to take our 3 year old twin boys to the beach one last time before the winter. We had the most fun at the Ritz Carlton. The staff was very nice and helpful. They also were especially kind to my children, giving them high fives in the lobby, and several remembered their names! The resturants were fabulous and convienant. The beach access is wonderful, and the kiddie pool and playground were the perfect setting for the boys to play. My husband and I were able to play with the kids and have a relaxing drink by the pool. Will go again next year, and hope to stay longer! Would definitely recommend to familys!
We love this hotel, and have spent several birthday and special occasions here. The accomodations are perfect, the rooms are spacious, and comfortable. The service is outstanding and the food............absolutely 4 star! The spa has been renovated, but my experience was not as satisfactory as other spa exeriences. I'd pass on the spa next time.
Had acitivies for both my boys of 8 and 14 years old. 8 yo had great time hunting for shark teeth while my teenage son had a great time in the teen center. Food was excellent and the service was 5 stars, just like we expected from a Ritz Carlton. Celebrated our son's 8th birthday at Ritz and when we checked into our room, there was a plate of delicious cookies, a frisbee and a birthday card for him. What a great touch. Will be staying there again this August.
The hotel was very beautiful and I can understand why it is a favorite choice for weddings. What I don't understand is why there is no ''adult'' pool. Also, there seems to be no ''off limits'' for toddlers and youngsters as they were dancing in the lounge a 9pm while my husband and I enjoyed a cocktail. The pool area is extremely crowded with families with small children and large rubber pool toys. I love children but I wish I had known that the Ritz catered to children and I would have chosed a more restful, quiet getaway. My lunch (fish) wasundercooked and had tobe sent back.
Good view of the beach... A little sterile but other than that a nice hotel.
When we first drove through to the hotel we were impressed with the sights. The employees were very helpful and accomodating. Everything was very nice except for one thing, the beds. My husband and I sleep on a select comfort bed and the bed at the hotel was old and sagging in the middle. The views were incredible but the beach had a lot of shelling and hurt your feet. I recommend you stay by the pool and eat a meal at the cafe. The Ritz has the best course on the island but it does not compare to Myrlte Beach.
