Historic setting in central location Unfriendly breakfast service
Beautiful rooms, very well kept, you really feel like staying in an Italian city palace, hideaway from the bussle of Florence, helpful staff, great tips on where to go and dine Just a tip: from the bookings website, we didnt realize it would be this gorgeous...
Big special rooms with quiet and very good location.
The location is great, staff were helpful and the breakfast room was lovely.
I have stayed twice. To me this hotel conveys a real feeling and appreciation of the beauty and taste and Florence. Also, the location is excellent. The hotel is small and has limited desk duty. This can be a problem if you are arriving or leaving late. They leave the desk at 19:00.
This has an excellent location from check in to check out hotel & staff were fantastic had read some poor reviews on amother site and these are totally unjustified. We would have no hesitation in staying here again & again.
This was at one time a small palace. Each room had a different planet theme. The rooms were very clean, bathrooms were large and each room had a different scent that was sprayed in the room. The breakfast is served in the original kitchen. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the owner. This hotel is within a 10-20 minute walking distance to most shopping and sites.
Central location and such a spacious room - we loved it! Staff, too were wonderful - friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay there again.
spacious room, friendly staff. quite different from the pictures on the web page, a little misleading. There is no lift, no staff available from 6 pm.
The hotel is near the center and short walk (2 min) to the cultural center of Firenze. We got a spacy room with a wonderful bathroom. Very quiet. Not easy to find.
Good location, large, nicely decorated rooms. It is NOT a hotel, as was mentioned in your site, but B&B (no lobby and hotel facilities
great location, all highlights in walking distance difficult to find, same breakfast every day, little bit noisy place at night (the square)
The location is wonderful, right in Piazza San Firenze. Only 1 block from Piazza della Signoria. We had a very large room. Beautiful decor, friendly staff. We did not have a safe in our room so we had to carry our money and passports with us. There was Wi-fi but no free computer to use. We did not have any drinking glasses in our room.
Charming room, very close to major "highlights" of Firenze, very helpful personnel Most Italians speak Italian, and that's such a beautiful language that this is enough to them
the location is perfect it's a b & b
It's very central to all major visitation destinations of the city. 10 min walk to everything. Get a city view room. It's worth it! The reception desk was very helpful, calling taxi's for us and making reservations for restraints and attractions. The indoor space and rooms were beautiful! Very romantic and LARGE!!! Finding the hotel and getting in is hard. Minimal signage, you can't walk into a main corridor. You have to figure out to hit a button and explain to a person through an intercom that you are staying there, then they buzz you up. The paper for the button that says Galileo 2000 is old and worn too.
Central location - friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and spacious and the host was very friendly and helpful.I am recommending this hotel as we got it at a good price for Florence. The B&B is on the first floor of a building site (as 25/9/2008). It meant we had to carry our luggage up 10-15 steps in a dusty corridor and then take a lift for the remaining. It would not suit anyone with walking/carrying difficulties.
The location was great as far as proximity to points of interest like Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, Galileo Museum. The walks to other places weren't bad at all and gave the opportunity to find places to eat and shop. The river is also very close and beautiful at night and in the morning. Our room (#8) was very quiet. Breakfast was at a cafe very close by with a very nice man working each morning. I had only one issue with hot water the first morning. I emailed Daniela and she had it checked out and confirmed there was indeed hot water to our room. Never had an issue after that. Communication was great. The entrance to the building has a strong odor when the doors aren't left open during the day. Galileo has very little control over this I'm sure. Luckily enough the smell does not lead upstairs or into the rooms. Still a great stay regardless.
When i arrived Mina ( the lady working there) gave me map and showed which places must see and what buses i can take if i wanna go to some more far places - which was realy nice of her!=) i appriciated it a lot! Room was always clean and breakfast was really good ( at least for me =))If i had some questions i could easily ask mina and she was always ready to help and answer - which is a great plus!Location is good as its not exact in the center but on a quiet street so at night its fine to sleep but 10 mins from Duomo...=) i felt absolutely comfortable and safety staying in this B&B and i would stay there next time im coming to Florence.
Good size room, Clean and tidy, good breakfast, great location close to station and centre, friendly staff.
The room was large. Parking in Florence is very expensive and the hotel can organise a discount for 2 parking garages which saved a lot of money. Heating was very good. The bathroom was definitely not clean enough. I don't even think the shower and sink had been wiped down from the previous guests. The toilet seat was broken and coming off. The window was broken which let extra noise in. The woman at breakfast was quite rude and felt put out when asked for something so simple as coffee. Breakfast was more limited than other hotels, no eggs or fruit. Maybe my expectations were too high. We have stayed at cheaper and nicer hotels in other cities - maybe Florence is just a very expensive city.
Nice Hotel, 10 minutes walk from centre of Florence.
This hotel is an amazing place to stay! Everything was perfect, beautiful building and rooms, luxurious bathrooms, lovely staff, great breakfast, and even a reasonably priced minibar! It was a short walk from the centre and in a nice peaceful neighbourhood. The staff help you with everything you could need - restaurant recommendations, museum bookings etc, and we'll definitely go back. No
The room was very spacious and elegantly furnished. The position was less central than I expected, and required to walk 30 min to get to the city center, with the only alternative of a taxi each time (in Florence cars are not allowed in the central area).
the comfort of the rooms, the walk in shower, the luxurious furnishings and antique furniture, the Courtyard garden
Good parking on the premises. Huge bathroom. Large comfortable bedrooom. First class breakfast in a lovely breakfast room. Good choice at breakfast. When we arrived we were given lots of useful information by the lady on reception which saved us doing our own research. No wifi in room. The shower didnt work properly and the toilet flush kept running. Would still go back there if we visited Florence again though.
A truly lovely place. One of the prettiest old hotels we stayed at on our trip to Italy. Very roomy with nice toiletry amenities and a truly wonderful shower and lovely room decor. An elevator would be very helpful. We had to drag our luggage up 3 long flights of stairs. But it's an old house and may not be possible. And the receptionist helped with my luggage given that I have asthma. Also per my comment below, there was no shuttle to the airport when it had been noted on Booking.com that there was a shuttle, but the owner of the hotel met with us and explained that with only 6 rooms they couldn't afford to provide a shuttle. We agreed that it was a terminology issue on the web site of Booking.com and I suggested she amend the wording regarding the shuttle.
the most wonderful expierence in the whole vacation. excelent service, large but cosy, nicely decorated room with unexpectly large and modern bathroom. parking, wifi - free of charge. breakfest not includes hot dishes (rather traditional italian) but everything was tasty, served with good taste and nice touch.
The staff went out of their way to help us rent a car and to point out bus routes, where to walk and any little request we had. Room, especially where the best in Florence and Italy, by far. They have no control over municipal water and sometimes the pressure is not strong enough, especially in the early morning hours.
A lovely villa with good attention to detail and friendly and helpful staff. Minutes from the 12/13 bus route which takes you into the city centre. Good buffet breakfast. Spacious room and huge bathroom. Nice courtyard to relax in.
The welcome was very warm and friendly and the staff took care of us very well. We were treated almost like their family and we got lots of advises and help from the staff. The room was very clean and quiet. We would stay at this hotel again. The breakfast could have included something proteinconteining, but it was ok. (apple, white bread, butter, jam, nutella, juice, coffee)
Staff was very polite and nice to us. They helped us with everything we needed. The breakfast was fruit, nutella, biscuits, bread. We are fans of salami/cheese so we weren't satisfied with the breakfast, but overall hotel was great. Free wifi in the hotel. Public parking was easy to find and was <1€ an hour (during the night and afternoon it's free). It's a small family hotel of 12 rooms with owner working in it, so she takes really nice care of her guests. As I said before, apart from breakfast, everything was great.
We were warmly welcomed by Betta herself. She is very kind and helpful. We arrived at night in Firenze and had to leave at 6.30 on the next morning. She suggested us the places not to be missed at that night and even the complete route to reach them. She even prepared us breakfast in our room at night so that we could consume them early before we leave the next morning. Location wise is also convenient, with parking lots just on the next street and they are free from 8pm to 8am.
The owner was very nice and stayed late because we were arriving late. The breakfast was good, and the staff were very nice and helpful. The location is only 15 min from the David. I would recommend this place for anyone.
It is very charming, clean, comfortable, quiet and central. Staff were very helpful and sympathic. A superb choice to enjoy Firenze as it deserves. We would definitly stay here again!
