The staffs were friendly and helpful. A room was very big and nice, but no toiletries like shampoo, shower gel. But when we asked for it, Sofia did find one for us. Kitchen utensils were provided.10 mins walk to Oia. Reasonable price even though the view was not as beautiful as Oia. Will definitely stay again.
local decoration hard to find
The hotel is in a quiet location in a traditional village yet only 15 mins walk from Oia town, the owner Sophia makes you very welcome and there are lots of design/antique/boutique touches
Not really much things I like about this hotel. It is really hard to find, and the host does not speak english very well, we called her 3-4 times, but she cannot clarify that how we could find this hotel ! we have stayed the hotel for 4 nights, nobody has cleaned the room for us, even once! The hotels on the cliff with the sea view cost about 80-100/night, so this 50/night does not worth the money we paid.
Sophia the owner - operator was so warm, welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Heliophos is a charming series of rooms and apartments terraced down the hill. The rooms are compact but there are a many outdoor terraces with wonderful views. Breakfast is served on one of the terraces. The decor is charming and individual. Excellent value. Sophia phoned for our rental car and thanks to her we got it cheaper and a better car, and she correctly told us this was the cheapest way to get to the ferry terminal too. Like all places on Santorini it is a little difficult to find. They do not appear to have addresses - you just ask the friendly locals who were all very helpful.
Very nice hotel, very nice staff. Rooms are big, beautiful and comfort. The town finikia is also beautiful, a very nice traditional greece town.
View from the hotel is fantastic Far from Fira, about 20 minutes walk! Easily solved when rented a bike.
The view of the sea is excellent, so is the staff! Really doesn't get any better in my opinion. Greece is very beautiful in general, but is not a cheap trip! Local's complain about the Euro and it's impact on travel & their cost of living.
Magnificent view to the caldera, comfortable spacious room (suite 303), nice pool and surrounding area. Friendly staff. It's quite a distance to reach Fira! There is, however, spacious parking space. The bathroom was too small and rather uncomfortable.
The view was spectacular! The entire hotel staff was wonderful! We will stay there everytime we visit Santorini and recommend it to anyone visiting the island. No
Very nice staff any beautifull view Beds were to hard on my old back :o)
First would have to be the fantastic view. The staff and service was terrific and it would have to be one of the best places to go to in this big world of ours. Absolutely loved it !!!!
A lovely comfortable hotel with fantastic views, the breakfast and dining area was very pleasant, again with wonderful views the food and service was good The hotel is situated a little to far from the town for us to walk and even though the hotel offers free transport it is limited
the wiev, the breakfast, the pool area, The too long distance to the city
We had a great stay at the Lilium. The staff was very nice and helpful, the room was clean, the views were amazing, its location is a bit far from the town, but not too bad. Breakfast was good also. All in all a fantastic stay there. The bathroom had a dampy smell.
beautiful,sea sight yes
The fantastic atmosphere, authentic design and convenient location Transfer did not turn up as organised
My stay at the Residence Suites was most comfortable and pleasant. I loved the traditional cicladic style of the houses. Caves are furnished simply but elegant and a great part of the comfort is provided by the staff who cant do more to make one happy. Excellent service! The location, most important- in Oia village. Shoots that I took can beat and compete with the post cards, and I am not a professional. The steps everyone talks about make the difference and the charm! Santorini is magnificent and the Greek food its like a good novel.
It has a good envirement with a nice seashore view and warm hearted residence in the small town of Santorini island, Greece. There are some small insects on the bed mattress, such as small black ants, small spiders, green-flies, which really caused our worry and sometime sleepless in the night.
The location is all that was appealing, unfortunately. The room was dirty, there was a fridge but no water supplied, tea and coffee facilities but no tea and coffee. Breakfast was disappointing. 4 star prices for 2 star accomodation.
The view was fantastic! The loft was spacious, it was like having your own little cave house. The cave walls of the loft made the room extremely cold at night.
Beautiful view We were very disappointed with our room. The weather was cold and rainy so we turned on the heat in our room. Each time we turned on the heat, the circuit breaker flipped off all the power. This happened several times during the evening. We talked to reception and they sent someone to show us how to reset the breaker. In the morning we used the hair dryer which was provided and again the circuit breaker flipped off all the power. We were unable to reset this time. We walked to reception with wet hair and requested a new room. We were told there was no room available.
Staff were very helpful. All transfers were on time. The view was fantastic. The bed was up a ladder on a landing. For people in their fifties this was initially a challenge but we became used to it.
Lovely location, with a gorgeous view of the caldera. Diana (at the tourism information centre at the bus stop) was extremely helpful - with the booking as well as with general sightseeing tips and suggestions. Slightly hard to locate on your own the first few times. The first night there, we spent almost an hour trying to find the room in the maze of tiny paths.
outstanding view, atmosphere the staff behaviour
The view, location and buffet breakfast
Location and scenery The pool water is far to cold for a resort; Do the staff not ask why there are a dozen people around a pool on a warm day and nobody is swimming?
The view is amazing. The restaurant is great, and the staff were wonderful. Bed was a little uncomfortable, and there was nothing within walking distance.
The rooms, views, facilities were fabulous.A lovely location and hotel perfect for honeymooners... Would highly recommend to friends and family..perfect location away from the crowds and just a short distance from Fira. No
The location was good, the room was clean and adequate in size. The hotel is in 2 parts (not mentioned on web site). The part we stayed on did not have access to the 3 pools and restaurants unless we crossed a busy main road so we felt isolated. Not enough loungers for all the guests, especially annoying when they are empty but just draped in towels and the staff tell you there is nothing they can do! Also hotel has countless steps to pools and no lift!
Loved the view, location Bathroom needed ventilation/exhaust fan
Gorgeous views, stunning hotel.. the staff were not very friendly, food was terrible and i love greek food but there cuisine was very western without the knowledge so very disappointed with the overall service off the staff and food!
The view from the hotel is amazing! The location of the hotel, close to Fira but not in Fira is ideal for those seeking a peaceful vacation. The free hotel shuttle bus to Fira is also a plus. Fantastic breakfast buffet. The bed was unusually hard and very uncomfortable. The A/C needed to be replaced. The bathroom needs to be updated.
Very reminiscent of Mamma Mia. The style is exactly what you'd expect of Santorini. The staff are very nice and helpful. I only had a dinner and breakfast so I'll reserve my comments on the food because I may not have experienced all the hotel has to offer. The room was so nice. My only complaint is not with the hotel but with some obnoxious travelers that seemed to enjoy themselves a little too loudly. The food but I didn't have much of it to know what might ve been better.
Fabulous 2 bedroom villa perched high up on edge of cliff. Magnificent view. Private pool and terrace where breakfast is served. Great personalized service. Nothing
Views and food were great. Staff was not friendly or helpful, and the rooms were not that clean.
The service from Maria & Nikolos keeps you blindfolded! They are amazing! Catching sleep for just a couple of hours a day to keep receiving the guests and bidding them a farewell from the air/sea ports as a voluntary service, they attend to every call with the same care! Mr Nikolos, one of the owners, defends, "every 10 euros earned should make a way partly back to the well being of the hotel and their guests" and adds that he enjoys it. This is apparent if you encounter the hosts yourself. The rooms are kept 'spotlessly' clean, a few edibles replenished each day and every call attended to, patiently. I would rate a 9 on 10! This is not something I didn't like - I only don't want the guests to choose this property with expectations and later get dejected due to this reason: the property isnt located on a sea-facing edge of the island. And if it did, I am afraid if I could ever afford to stay at this place! And am happy it's so reachable to many like me! It's neverthless quite centrally located yet secluded from the tourist buzz. If you arrive here at night, please wait till the next day break before you give up!
Maria, out host, is the best host we've had. It's just a 5 minute walk from most things in Fira.
Small but quite clearn and has everything you need inside None
Everything! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone. We have been travelling Europe for 2 months now and have stayed at everything from a below 1 star hostel to a five star hotel and Villa Rose beats them all! Maria goes above and beyond to make your experience the best one possible. None. If your choosing between here and somewhere else in Santorini - choose villa rose!
Best place we have stayed in Europe! Maria the host was fantastic, made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond as a host. The rooms are fairly spacious, very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended, great value for money. Thank you Maria for making our stay so enjoyable.
San Antonio offers genuine, unpretentious luxury, high quality services and tactful/amicable/ welcoming environment from all its staff. The unique combination of the "private" view with this high quality service offering makes the staying in San Antonio a special, private and worthwhile experience. Even though San Antonio was only working for 2 months when we visited and there are very minor practical things that could be further improved, I do not think that any of these things would change my view of the hotel, therefore are not worthwhile to be mentioned.
The views from this location are beautiful of the caldera & peaceful. The staff is courteous & look pleasant with minimal makeup. The breakfast is good especially the choice of healthy nuts. The spa steam room is great. The jacuzzi is not very comfortable & needs more jets. The Nuxe shampoo wasn't very hair smoothing. Their regular prices are too pricey in peak season.
Quiet and beautiful environment situated on the caldera cliffside. Helpful and friendly staff. While essentially isolated from the main towns, it was also relatively convenient to travel to Oia and Fira with a bus stop in front of the premises. Since the hotel is not very close to any shops or restaurants, you will have to either eat and drink at the hotel, or, take the bus/taxi for 10+ minutes to any nearby town for food and necessities. A simple trade-off if you know what you want.
Tranquility, the beautiful set up of the hotel, very nice room and the incredible pool!
Stunning hotel. The most incredible view, incredible breakfasts, beautiful rooms and highly professional and courteous staff. Liked everything
Amazing luxury hotel, perfect location secluded yet very close to touristic villages, breathtaking uninterrupted view to the caldera, great infinity pool, well equiped cave rooms with all the modern facilities, perfect for honeymooners... The hotel just opened in April 2009 even though the service was great some things need to have minor improvements... like over humidity in the room...
Fantastic level of service. The private location. The stunning view. The wonderful food. And the wonderfully relaxing atmosphere, a true sancturary.
Must be the nicest accomodation on Santorini. Altho slighly remote, which adds to its magic, good walking trail to towns. Staff very friendly & helpful, ideal amenities, very clean, great pool and had own spa with magnificent view. nothing
The view, could not get tired of that view, breathtaking! Also liked the infiniti pool, gourmet dining, the peaceful isolation and the uncrowdedness of this unique and wonderful establishment. And I can not fail to mention the exceptional service of the staff up and down the line, especially George Zygouris of the dining staff. everything was exceptional except for one thing , the room had an open floor plan inclusive of the bathroom facilities and as such there was no privacy when one would needed most.
The views are incredible! The staff is phenomenal! The food is delicious! The location is perfect! We will definitely return! Thank you Sophia!! Everything was perfect!
Absolutely Everything That I had to leave
When I arrived in Katikies I thought I had arrived in heaven, I dont think heaven could be any better absolutely amazing experience one I will never forget and will go back to.
The Katikies Experience dinner and the fact that they served breakfast on your private terrace every morning. The room was much smaller than expected for the price paid. The food selection at the hotel was very poor.
Rooms were incredible, they upgraded us without even requesting it
The service was excellent and very friendly, the rooms were beautiful - CD player in room etc. We had our own sun loungers and the pool, although very small was very much appreciated.
The view was an amazing and the staff as well. Amazing room and service. They didn`t have Frappe or Freddo which is a must in Greece but for the rest was great.
Staff were great, really helpful and friendly. The view is amazing and it is a very romantic setting.Hotel was beautiful. The loft apartment although nice has a ladder to go up to the bedroom. We probably should have be told about this as it was dangerous in the middle of the night to go down to the bathroom. Also the caldera apartments are at the bottom of the hill with a very steep slippery path going up some older people may not have managed this.
The view was amazing. The pool was great and the rooms were lovely. The breakfast was a little average for the price, but the view and location overcame everything!
The staff were very accommodating and kind. The view and location in central Oia were lovely and the accomodations were very traditional. The location and studios we booked and stayed in for 1 night at Caldera Villas were very poor and not nearly worth the price. They were down the caldera 100 difficult steps and the rooms were tiny, very basic and unattractive. One bed was up a narrow ladder in a loft. Fortunately the manager was able to move us to rooms at the Residence Suites annex for our next 2 nights. Those rooms were much larger and more attractive, but with no special amenities. Though much better, this hotel was also somewhat overpriced for what it offered. The breakfast was terrible, especially the orange juice and coffee.
Great location, facilities and staff.
The rooms are lovely and romantic, so is the private balcony overlooking the Santorini caldera. The swimming pool and the terrace around it are very pictoresque and relaxing, one could spend hours just sitting there and admiring the dramatic scenery of the island from the pool itself. In all, the hotel has a calming aura, it is so pleasant, that one gets reluctant to leave it for too long. Two things must definitely be changed in the description of the hotel. First of all, there is no full English breakfast (one of the main criteria why I choose this hotel). When I asked about it, the employees stared at me clearly revealing that they did not even know what English breakfast is. Overall, the breakfast is very poor for the high price one pays for this hotel. The selection of food is limited and cheap, plastic glasses are a bit insulting. This is the only reason why I felt that I did not get what I ought to for the money paid. It must be definitely mentioned in the description that there are numerous steep steps leading down to the hotel. For me that was slightly discomforting, but elderly guests would find it very difficult.
incredible view, even if from our room you weren't able to see the caldera and the sunset...swimmin pool. too expensive for the quality of the rooms.
The view overcharge for a little hospitality i.e. no water bottle, no toileterry, poor breakfast quality
We booked this hotel just a day before we were arriving. It was good deal and dx-room we got. There were swiming pool just in front of the room. very good location near the ocean. We were there in October(off season), so if it was in summer (peak season) that would be great fun. Room has everything. even the kitchen with all(dishes, cutlery, pan etc...). A shower room a bit smelled. The hotel was great except that.
Very personal service we received. Convience to the beach, clubs and restaurants. A/C did not work in our room.
Friendliness, personalized service, free pick-up transfer from airport
The hotel staff were extremely nice. I was travelling on my own. They provided a free shuttle to and from the airport. Always on hand to help. I had a large sized room that was very clean with good facilities.
Very hospitable staff! Amazing Renata on the Reception :) Beautiful hotel, comfortable rooms, good location, 15 minutes to Athens Port, and local buses go every 15-20 min to Fira. We liked everything
is very near of the beach in a quiet area of the island. economically priced room is horrible, everything is very old, furniture, linens, towels, pillows are not comfortable.
People were very friendly and the place was nice The breakfast could have been better
It was so pretty and quaint, very friendly staff, nice pool, and walking distance to the famous black beach. Also, good quality for the price. The bed was really hard.
The staff was not coordinated, We had an e-mail saying the airport transfer was free and when we got there they wanted to charge us, and we had to insist to get the service as it was announced on an e-mail we received from them.
So clean, very pretty property, staff were funny, friendly and helpful. Location is brilliant for beach and sight seeing. I liked everything.
The location was absolutely spectacular and the room was exactly what we were hoping for. The cave rooms were traditional, yet they included the modern conveniences in a way that didn't seem out of place. The view from the hotel was a postcard at every turn. The hotel was perfectly located for everything we wanted to do, everything was within walking distance. We didn't dislike this aspect of the hotel, but I would like to state that the stairways of this type of hotel are difficult to navigate for anyone but the most agile and healthy. Anyone with any type of walking difficulty, including arthritis, would have a difficult time navigating the steps to the rooms and pool.
The location was excellent and watching the sunset view from our balcony was an amazing experience. The room was over-priced (you definitely pay for the view), but the amenities were no better than any other place we stayed in Greece (most of which we payed 1/7 the price for!). Also, I wish I had been forewarned that this hotel, like many in Oia, requires hiking up and down many, many stone steps. It is not for anyone of questionable fitness or mobility.
fantastic view, amazing location difficult to access hotel from parking, a bit too "rustic", breakfast very basic
This hotel has an excellent setting in Oia; well designed and charming. It sits well in the ambience of Oia. A perfect location to see the setting of the sun. The traditional cave houses and the "cave-like" pool too. An unforgettable experience. Many guest reviews complain about the steps, the climbing to reach this hotel but I think that that is necessary considering the location and the very nature of Oia. I booked a single room and was given the smallest room with no windows, no air-conditioning...the so-called window is wired...hence, very little air...also I felt that they should lower the price for that small room (where the main electricity box is) if the management still consider it decent to rent out. I felt short-changed in some ways. What makes my stay pleasant is the facilities and the excellent staff service.
View is amazing. Staff was not friendly and our room, a cave room was a bit of a dissapointment but you are paying for the view and it is worth it. Regardless of all the negatives, I would probably recommend the hotel due to the view/location but I think expectations should be managed. I would also recommend looking at other similar hotels for the same price point to see if some offer similar views with better service. Poor service. Booked through booking.com. No one told us to check in at an office management company near the bus stop. Spent a lot of time trying to find hotel and when did, they seemed annoyed that we hadn't previously checked in with the management company. After we started unpacking our stuff, realized that the only light in the bathroom was not working and it took over an 1 hour to have it replaced which delayed our plans for dinner. Decor of the room was underwhelming, box spring of the bed was a piece of plywood, bathroom sink was leaking water onto the floor. When lying by the pool reading, staffer stood next to my lounge chair and talked on her cell phone for over 10 mins. Seemed annoyed when asked for clean plates at breakfast
Nice views of volcano & harbour Hard bed, no shower curtain for shower, thin towels. Locals said it is not good value and owner /manager writes the reviews for Trip Advisor.
We stayed here 10 years ago and realized there are a lot of other options...Oia Mare needs to update their facility and service to keep up with their competition. However, the views are incredible and we loved the location. I did not like the fact that there was not one drawer to put our belongings in. Amenities in the room were the bare minimum and could be improved.
The city of Oia Definitely not worth the price. Very old looking bathroom. Minimalist breakfast for a 4 stars hotel. Hotel acces is hard : 10 minutes of walk with a lot of stairs (hotel crew can help with the luggages).
Wonderful location, particularly for sunsets, great staff and wonderful outdoor lounge area. I was given a small room, fit only for an individual, which was ok, but it was really small, their smallest room, I called it a cave room with no room for even a small table and a chair. So, I had a bed and a bathroom/shower but that was it. I wished I had known it was going to be so small.
Fantastic view. Nice rooms, very good breakfast. Will stay again;) Sometimes the water from the shower is not warm nor strong enough.
the view ; the swimming pool . too expensive for what it was offering
This was a great small hotel, just outside of Fira (less than 5 minute walk). Location turned out to be great because it was really easy to get in and out of, quiet, easy parking (get an ATV!), but super easy walk into Fira. It was also really easy to get to other locations around the island vs. some of the 'in-town' hotels. It also has a beautiful view of the Caldera and sunset. The staff was amazingly helpful with everything, including helping us coordinate with lost baggage and directing us to good places to get clothes in the interim. The pool was very nice to relax and staff was quick with towels and drinks. The only downside is that the shower was a little small and the Wifi was could be a little slow at times. The hotel does not have the same type of view as the hotels on the cliffs in Fira or Oia, but for the price, ease of access and other positives; it is well worth the value and very relaxing.
Perfect combination of adventure and relaxation... very impressed and pleased.
Great location! So close to everything..Our view was fantastic! and Paul was very friendly and helpful. It was great to have a pool right there that we could relax beside. Had the most amazing time and would not hesitate to stay there again.
We enjoyed the location , and the pool great views also . unfortunatley the air conditioning did not work well at all and the bathrooms were very out of date , the linen was old and needed an update , the breakfast was very very basic
The view was amazing (in our room, at the pool, everywhere!) we spent 2 full days at the pool, it was so relaxing and the pool bar girl made the best mojitos! It was quiet at our hotel, meanwhile if you wanted anything, it is a few minute walk to Fira town where you can get food, ice cream, coffee, etc. we wished there was wifi in the rooms
Staff, location and room.
An amazing setting complimented by fantastically attentive staff
Absolutely lovely hotel and just the right touch of liveliness.
The staff was incredible and the resort was beautiful. We loved the close proximity to Oia (short walk) and the views were absolutely stunning. We also loved eating lunch there (wonderful food with impeccable service). I wouldn't change a single thing about Kirini. No, it was stunning and the service was impeccable.
classy property with experienced committed personable staff ...excellent attention to detail...serene environment and magnificent vista...elegant yet casual.
The all-white interiors and exteriors were exactly as per the photos - we were very pleased with that. The spatial quality and service experience was very good. Food was also great just 1 small unpleasant incident that is not really due to hotel - the hotel promises that their guests are given priority at selected restaurants but despite making a booking for Ambrosia & Nectar through the hotel, the maitre-d was extremely rude and dismissive.
everything, esp wi fi in the room. nice. helpful, friendly staff, short walk from town center and bust stop for tours. it was good overall. the fact that there are no screens and if you dare open windows or doors for fresh air you will have a room full of flies because of the intense heat. but the air conditioner works just fine.
Champagne buffet breakfast, the free transfers from port and airport, the hotel swimming pool and proximity to the town of Fira (walking distance). The rooms are not well maintained for a 5* hotel and half of the rooms with 'volcano views' are actually facing the main road. Those rooms facing the other side may be better but they have a narrow staircase, without a bannister, leading up to the gallery/bedroom which was not practical. The biggest disappontment was the number of iunexplainable flys in the rooms. We changed rooms 3 times but just could not get away from them - not something one would expect to find in this level of hotel.
The staff were very good, the food was wonderfull and we thought very good value, our room was great and the location excellent.
The staff made our trip memorable. They were all excellent.
Almost everyone on the Hotel staff is very friendly and kind. The breakfast is good and the pool is excelent. The Hotel location, although not on the beach, is very central, and that allows one to reach every beach of the island in about 20 minutes by car. The breakfast is good, but could be improved considering the price one pays to stay there.
The food was excellent, it was on par with a five star hotel. The swimming pool is beautiful, very big and clean. I would not rate this hotel five star. The rooms are basic and the staff aren't very helpful (even though they do try to be but don't know how to be). Seems to me that it is considered to be a hotel only for tourists so they tend to get away with a lot.
Everything was great. The room had an excelent view and we it felted like home. The pool was great and the staff was very nice. The organization and the display of the hotel was excelent, perfect for a nice and relaxation vacacions. Needs more variety on breakfast
people are very friendly
The facility is beautiful Service was good. Hotel was quiet, pool was like out of a magazine. We would come back to this hotel. Would be nice to be able to have coffee earlier than 7:00a.m.
5 minutes far from centre of Fira, nice decoration!staff was very friendly and helpfull!
The Villas were family run and for the money we paid I thought it was excellent value. I little way out of main town but within walking distance of about 10 minutes. If you have a moped or quad bike its with 3 minutes Not the hotel only real bug bear was the building site that was going on next door. No mention of this on your site or from the villa owner. Still it was good value for money as the owners made us most welcome.
great service, friendly people, felt at home
everything is perfect it is a little far from the bus station, but it is not far from the fira city center
Friendliness of the hotel staff, and cleaness. Nice breakfast
lovely place to stay Not easy to find the villas in the frist time
The owner who was very helpful and pleasant. The location was peaceful but convenient and close to the caldera. The room was spotless and well appointed.
the room is so so so beautiful and the host is quite kind person. the hotel is located in a very quiet place but just 15 minutes walk to Fira city center. it will be so wonderful to live in this hotel.
The staff and owners were very helpful and did all they could to ensure our stay was pl;easant
Location and staff High prices did not reflect quality of hotel
All, the staff, the services, the wheather....ALL!! No, there was not!
Fabulous property, staff, location, view and restaurant Nothing
Amazing location, helpful, welcoming staff...unique property!
Everything was perfect. Our highlight was the dinner, which was as romantic as it can get!
Fantastic location on edge of the caldera, friendly hosts, easy walk into Fira.
The view from my hotel room was fantastic. All the accommodations and amenities were fabulous and the staff was excellent. It was absolutely the highlight of my trip to Greece.
The beautiful view over the caldera was absolutely incredible. The staff were all very helpful and just generally wonderful!
The staff at Ira were kind and helpful in every way. They provided transfers, restaurant recommendations, general advice and a cheerful presence at all times.
the room is so nice with pool in front and view. The qwner also very kind and take care us so special.
