The location, away from traffic but the immersed in nature's sounds. The terrace, overlooking the lawn, pool and onto the wood across the road.
To be frank, there is not to much to be found that was positive. The place does have great potential as the buildings have been carefully reconstructed and a large swimming pool has been installed. The rooms were clean. The staff was very lax, the breakfast pathetic. One day there was even no bread and juice had to be asked for. As we ate the few brioch available, the visitors having breakfast after us were forced to eat some pre-packed dry toast. The room was underfurnished. There was no table and only 2 chairs while we were with 4 staying in a room for 4. There was more than sufficient place in the room to add a table and 2 more chairs. The staircase leading to the beds on the mezzanine creaked so much that it was impossible to get down without waking up everybody else.
The room was pleasant and clean; above all, the ambience of the agriturismo was quite wonderful! For the most part (but see below) the staff were friendly and efficient. At one dinner, I ordered a meat course from the announced menu, waited over an hour, and after repeated appeals for service, was TWICE served the wrong meat. When I complained, I was told by the management that the kitchen thought I had ordered that wrong meat, though it was not on the menu and although I repeatedly asked for the meat I had ordered.
Very relaxing, with excellent local foood, 40 mins from Catania Airport
Roccadia lies in the midst of beautiful countryside with a view on Mt. Etna. It's a peaceful and calm place, where it cools down quite a bit at night during the summer months.
Very friendly staff and a really nice place! Beautiful big garden and a nice swimming pool with a lounge area. Not much to complain about, maybe the beds were a bit too narrow.
very good food, good facilities, charming staff
