very much. a beautiful conversion of a convent with stunning design of including details. sound insulation (bathroom) not so good. although there are air shafts in the bathroom they should install extractor fans.
It is a beautifully restored building on par with a parador - the fountain in the 'cafe' area is particularly soothing. The rooms were of a high quality as was the restaurant. Please write at least 15 words I am sure it would be lovely to stay in the winter. In the summer - very hot - ideally requires a pool/ terrace poss spa faciloities as it is rather isolated.
It is a beautiful place in lovely surroundings, very elegant. The menu prices were reasonable, the breakfast was included in the room price and was very nice. The local wines were recommended and very good. The staff were very pleasing, I would stay there again if in that area, it is very pretty. The hotel grounds are not yet finished and so there was no nice area to sit outside and no pool, although it was early in the season and so that will probably change. Not suitable for children as there is nothing to do in the area unless you drive. The rooms we stayed in had very thin walls and so you could hear clear conversations from the next room.
Very friendly, excellent attention from the staff, peaceful, interesting, very good value.
We chose the Hotel Convento San Diego for a country weekend get-together for 5 friends who hadnñt seen each other in years. The hotel was perfect for this with a comfy relaxed atmosphere, fantastic staff and a cosy bar. The location and setting of the hotel were amazing, even more so at the fantastic price that we were offered.
Rooms were comfortables, very clean, had a terrace to a nice view of the village. The hotel is sufficiently outside the village to be quiet, yet it takes 5 minutes on foot to get to the village. It is easy to find and has a good, very cheap restaurant. Overall, it is an amazing bargain for money. I later stayed one night at a nearby hotel (sierra luz in cortegana) which was double the price but was not as nice. It made me appreciate this hotel much more. As often happens in these types of hotels, there is no dedicated person to run the reception; those working at the restaurant do so in turns. They come immediately when you need them, and are very helpful, but they are clearly not trained to guide a visitor to the region: they are there to let you in, solve your problems (if you have problems) but nothing else.
