Pros: I like the breakfast freshly made --Japanese --not western
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room has everything you need. Also washing machine available im the hotel. Staff super gentle and friendly. Good breakfast and everyday slightly different. The hotel is near a peaceful park and a cultural village with 5 old houses. in 25 min walk you reach JR station. The structure is well equipped with maps for fukui centre and fukui day trip: tojinbo and oshima island..bamboo doll village...big zen temple eiheiji... ichijodani ruins... kanazawa..
Cons: nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything...tho ovners r so lovely people everything was so clean in good location very close to the station..

Pros: Everything was awesome. Great for solo traveller
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was just right.
Cons: We shared the two bathtubs and so we had to wait for our turns to get in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very hostel, nice breakfast, good environment.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The extremely welcoming couple who run the ryokan, who went out of their way to make my stay memorable. Kawajin Ryokan's hosts kept the private hot bath booked for me at convenient times, drove me back to the station on my particularly sweltering last day, and were extremely welcoming and open. The property is not right next to the city centre, but a pleasant stroll away. It's next to a large park, which features several temples, a small zoo, and sweeping views.

Located in Fukui, 27 km from Eiheiji Temple, Echizen Guesthouse TAMADA is a 60-year-old traditional Japanese house surrounded by mountains and the sea. 7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful old traditional Japanese house. Please note that this property is a small guesthouse/home stay like accommodation. The owner is very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Make sure you let the owner know when you will be arriving so that check-in can be arranged at a suitable time.
7.5 Good
Pros: The house is old but clean and the owner is very friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient and comfortable, Japanese style.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was extremely accommodating and went to great lengths to help by driving us to various locations for an exceptionally generous fee. The house is a very old charming property in a very rural area so if you prefer peace and quiet and like being near the coast, it's perfect. The nearest shops and restaurants are a few minutes drive away. There is also a very friendly cat. I would very much recommend this place for those who want to be far away from the town and to enjoy some rural life.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect for the beach. It was only a 2 minute walk to the beach. Also, the host was very accommodating. Everyone in the area was very friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful owner, incredible price for a room of my own.
6.7 Good
Pros: You get a room in a 70 year-old "traditional" house. Very basic, shared washing (better to go to the onsen down the road many kilometers) and toilet facilities. Friendly host, nice opportunity for an informal "homestay," but far from Fukui (15-20km) so transportation needed.
Cons: Things seem a bit cluttered around the place. I guess that's the way the owner rolls, though. Acceptable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: BIg and spacious rooms right next to the beach japanese style house friendly and helpful staff japanese style beds (futon)
Cons: very thin walls, you can hear everythng japanese style beds (futon)
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice place, quiet and fresh. Good for family trip with private car.
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Fukuishimiyamashinrinonsen Mirakurutei in Fukui, you'll be in the mountains, within a 5-minute drive of Suwa Yakata Garden and Ichijodani Asakura Clans Ruins. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was excellent! Even with the stairs, the staff escorted us to our room, helped with luggage, and helped get my 2 year old up all those stairs. So great! All of The staff was super friendly and helpful. We arrived later in the evening and so ordered dinner just before the restaurant closed. They had a very limited menu and were unable to provide our initial requests, so comped us 2 drinks. Unexpected, but it's the extra customer service that really sets this hotel apart!Beautiful onsen and again the way the hotel spreads out up the hill, each room feels like its nestled in the forest with full length windows. I wish we had more time to just enjoy the hotel!
Cons: Not something I didn't like, but just to be aware of, the hotel is amazing in that it works with the hillside, so the rooms are spread out on ascending levels up the hill, but that also means there is limited elevator access and a lot of stairs, which was a challenge with a young family of 5.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The drink machine had an assortment of drinks never seen in my lifetime , even beer lol. They refunded my money for my last day that I needed to cancel because me and my fiancée were staying in Nagoya for our last night instead . Even though that too became a long drawn out drama in the end I did get my money back . Can’t wait to see my cell phone bill when I get it . The toilet was phenomenal, never seen anything like it . The maid was so sweet and polite . You never see maids like her where I’m from with that much respect . An absolute angel. The Italian front desk guy was amazing, very nice , professional and informative.
Cons: They were going to charge me ¥1000 for a lost key ! This would never happen in Canada or the U.S? That only one part time staff member knew any English . This is a very arrogant thing in the Japanese they think they don’t need to know English . I speak 3 languages on the verge of learning my 4th and I don’t consider myself above average . I don’t think it’s asking much that a hotel employee can at least get by in English, since it is the international language now ! Very disappointed in the lack of English speakers all over Japan this is disgraceful and disgusting. No English tv channels , but the room in Tokyo ( Narita ) did . I’m sure this won’t change any time soon .
8.8 Excellent

Cons: Too many car that would like to park. If you are check in late, you may not get a car park.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was very comfortable and clean. The young man at the reception was very kind and helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Helpful
Cons: A bit far from train station
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a pleasurable stay here. All of the staff were very friendly from the moment we checked in to checked out. They also cater to young families with toys and books available to borrow. It was great to receive a free upgrade to a room with an additional single bed upon check-in thanks to the considerate staff as we are a family of four including two primary school children. The hotel definitely offered a great value for money, allowing primary school-aged children to stay for free (provided they use existing beds). And breakfast is offered for about additional $10 per room, again children eat for free. We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: We can't complain given the value they offer but it would be nice to have some fruit for breakfast. Though it's only minor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff we very helpful and very close to supermarket and about 15mins walk to the station. Laundry facilities are also good and reasonably priced.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Actually they update our room due to that we have two adults with a kid. So nice and thank you! Even there is no onsen but we enjoy lived there.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff are kind and without language barrier. Room is clean and comfortable. The flow rate of bathtub is acceptable.
Cons: Double-room is not convenience for 4 person family trip. We had to book 2 rooms.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a great hotel, corner room with excellent view of the river, spacious, clean, wonderful bed; excellent staff who treated us very well, including great recommendations for dining. Will go back again.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely spot. More spacious than the average business hotel. The public bath here was lovely. The food was outstanding -- delicious buffet breakfast of local foods. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station; there are closer and cheaper hotels to the station, but this is probably the best one you'll find and is definitely worth it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, clean and quiet place
Cons: Location is a bit far from the station... around 10-15 min walking
7.1 Good
Pros: Staff speaks English, the hotel is clean.
Cons: The toilet looks like from a hotel half the price of this one or less. Mirror too low to see my face, etc. Even when one puts outside "do not make up my room" and "do not disturb", they leave new tolietries etc., in a bag on the door knob, which is far from eco, not up to today's standards.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is one of my favourite hotels in Fukui because of their attention to detail and the comfortable rooms which reflect local culture. Particularly great in cherry blossom season!
Cons: Some construction was going on
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent. Morning walk by the river is refreshing. Restaurant and night life is just a couple of blocks away. The mall is within walking distance and yet far enough from the crowd. Good staffs and very helpful.
Cons: None.

Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The onsen was lovely and the beds were very comfortable

Pros: Close to the station. Breakfast was good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff are very nice and helpful, many Japanese stay in this hotel. However, the location is a bit far from the JR station, need to took 10-15 mins walk to there. As i got the backpack and raining on that day, seems too long for me.
7.9 Good
Pros: The breakfast was a nice value, and you could choose either a Western or Japanese style. The onsen was very relaxing and there was also a massage chair that you can use for free.
Cons: The distance was a little far from the station, but in a good restaurants area.
6.3 Good
Pros: On the good side, smiling and eager to help front staff. The view from the room was not bad, glancing on the city's lights with little obstructions from nearby buildings. I wish I had more time to enjoy the delicious breakfast!
Cons: Bed was somewhat stiff. Room was clean enough from a cleanliness point of view, but I'd also point out a need of maintenance here and there (not limiting to the room). Lastly, I had seen far better rooms for less, and in more appealing places nonetheless.

Cons: Sound of the fan in the bathroom
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very tasty breakfast.
4.6 Okay
Pros: It’s quite near to Fukui train station.
Cons: Toilet fan cannot be turned off. So it was hard to get to sleep with the motor noise. The room was very dark. Could do with more light fittings.
7.9 Good
Pros: Food at the hotel’s restaurant was to our liking; however, it should be disclosed that this restaurant serves only Japanese cuisine which includes breakfast each morning. We were OK with this and enjoyed it for the 3 days we stayed at this hotel. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful. We opted for a junior suite so it was roomy.
Cons: The bed was too firm. Not too many restaurants nearby - need to walk to the train station area (about 10 min walk) to find restaurants. It was OK except we encounter ed one rainy day during our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and large with separate sitting and sleeping areas. It is located only a block from the train station and bus terminal and the main part of town so it was very convenient.
Cons: The room could have been better lit.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is faboulous
Cons: The junior suite is big. However, the air vent of bathroom made a lot of sound which can not be turned off.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to katamatchi street where you can find so many restaurants. Also 7 minutes walk to Fukui station
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very confortable room worthy of a five-star at a very low price. So low that I did not understand how it is possible : 6800 ¥ for the night (57€).
Cons: nothing
5.8 Okay
Pros: Very clean and convenient location.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Although it is not just next to the station (10 mins walking distance) I can still say the hotel is centerally located. There is a convenient store just near the hotel and few of the restaurants in the city are closely located. The room was spacious, especially compared to other single rooms in Japan.
Cons: Almost nothing. Only problem might be related to the elevators (not a big one). Although there are 3 of them servicing to the guest room levels, sometime it takes pretty long to catch one. Considering the hotel was not that much crowded and I was alone in the elevator most of the time, this is a bit strange.
6.7 Good
Pros: Good breakfast selection. Beautiful garden on 5th floor.
Cons: Very difficult to locate front desk. Need to go to 5th floor to check in. Signs were in Japanese only. Recommend add English wording on sign.

5.4 Okay
Pros: 5-10mins walking distance to Fukui train station
Cons: Air conditioning is not cool and can not adjust, due to centralised air conditioning control. The room is very hot and stuffy. Sleep with sweat. Pillow is too soft and not good for sleep
