I love the room that had a side living room, beds were comfortable but I love the shampoo and conditioner! Paul Mitchell- made my hair super soft! Nothing
It felt like a suite Next door placed trash in the hall
Clean, well-taken care of hotel. Courteous, friendly staff. Great breakfast buffet that was continually stocked throughout morning.
Loved having two queen beds and a sleeper sofa! Very nice for a reasonable price!
The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. I had high expectations from the reviews. When we checked in the woman who helped us was not friendly at all. She basically just handed me a key and said your room number is in the packet. I had to ask to confirm if the room was a king or not. The room was nice when we got there. In the morning there were cock roaches in the bathroom in the floor and in the bathtub. I went to let the front desk know and the man working didn't seem surprised and just said he would let the manager know. I wasn't looking for anything off the bill, I just was hoping for them to say they were so sorry and that they would take care of it!
Staff was very accommodating. We checked in but our room wasn't ready (we were early). However, knowing we had two young and very cranky (sleepy) children, the staff member offered to call us as soon as a room was ready, which she did. I was impressed that she kept to her word. The breakfast was great, had more options for the low carb dieters. Room was extremely nice and beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay there again. The TV in the gym didn't work very well. That's it though!
Very clean and spacious suite! Absolutely would stay there again. Hotel was also clean and staff was nice for the most part. Checkout time was noon which was great because we stayed out late the night before!!
Decent breakfast included, friendly staff, location near highway, room layout, bedding was comfortable Air conditioning unit in room was extremely noisy and woke me up 3-4 times at night. Had I not had a sleeping toddler I would've asked for another room.
The staff was incredibly polite and the room one of the cleanest I've seen. The beds were very comfortable as well. Really great experience! I'd highly recommend SpringHill Suites based on this stay. Having packets of instant grits available at the breakfast would be nice (and easy since there is already hot water).
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Good bed. Quiet. Placement of tv was awkward.
Hotel is very nice with great lighting and spacious. Breakfast is very good and light! King room are very nice with great sitting area. Room has a full mirror as well!! You will not be disappointed with your stay! The only thing I didn't like was the location of the hotel. Although you can see it from the interstate, it's in the cut once you get off the interstate.
Your breakfast staff and front desk were the bomb! Love the older lady at breakfast and how she asked to make your waffle! Awesome staff! Everything was great!
Couldn't even stay here because I was under 21. Staff was really rude about it and didn't even tell me how to go about getting a refund.
The staff and room were first rate. Good breakfast, Had to go to lobby for a wi-fi signal, and the remote, even with good batteries, would operate the TV.
The staff wasn't too unfriendly. It's located in a seedy section of North Charleston. Sirens ran most of the night , as well as the trains, and it was right by the highway, so you can constantly hear the cars fly by. At 1am the power went out and the heat finally drove me out of the hotel, back into my car, and a two hour trip home in the middle of the night, Not happy.
The hotel is right by the highway and it took us about 10 minutes to get to the main part of King Street in downtown Charleston. The hotel is obviously a little old, but it has been renovated. I read reviews before I went. It seemed fine for a cheap, last-minute weekend getaway. One stated that the towels were "beige", and I assumed that person just got a bad set of towels. Nope. The ones in our room were old, stained, and rough. It wasn't that big of a problem, I just assumed that they bleach them.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing.
Nice people at counter Dirty and not well maintained
There's absolutely nothing to like about this hotel !!!!! The hotel is very old . It smells like a whole pack of cigarettes. I checked in around 4 am because I was traveling with my family .(husband,2 small kids) We checked in went up to our room and the sheets and pillow case were filthy! I called down stairs she apologized and said we could switch rooms. Guess what ? Those sheet and pillow cases were filthy as well . Long story we got our money back and didn't stay. Apparently they don't switch out sheets they just make the bed .
There was no restaurant in the hotel or even near this hotel.
Very nice helpful staff. Clean up to date rooms over all good value. No complaints.
Bed and bathroom was clean also the staff members are very friendly and helpful for the most part. Sirens up and down the road all night were a bit disturbing... Carpets in the room looked pretty gross and could definitely use some renovation
It was anything BUT grand! Even though we'd already paid for our stay, we left 10 minutes after our arrival and stayed elsewhere. The hotel smelled heavily of smoked. And we were concerned about the cleanliness of our room.
Rooms clean, large and well furnished. Staff was great, from the bellman to the valet to the front desk. Starbucks in lower lobby a nice feature. Hallways have some deferred maintenance.
Clean, large room and lobby. Friendly staff. Front desk didn't text me as promised when room was ready, but otherwise ok.
good location They upgraded our room because they didn't have the original room we booked upon arrival. We were staying 5 days. after two days they kicked us out of the upgraded room and moved us to a room half the size saying that the room they upgraded us to was already booked beyond our current stay. This put a damper on the remainder of our stay at the hotel due to the room being a little too small for two people Also the other guest in the hotel that had business meetings were very rude and arrogant and continually blocked the top of the stairways coming up to the main lobby.
The hotel is dated and worn out. The rooms are small and very old. The bathroom is only large enough for one person and the plumbing is ancient. The hotel is overpriced for what you get. The manager was not at all accommodating when we didn't get the type of room we booked. I would never stay at this hotel again.
The Frances Marion is to Charleston what the Peabody is to Memphis, the Edwards is to Jackson, Miss., and the Reed House to Chattanooga. All are hotel with history and character. More than that, all the staff at the Frances Marion could not have been nicer. Liked it all.
Friendly staff Paying for parking, no coffee in lobby, no free breakfast
The beds were so comfortable and cozy and we did not hear any of the traffic on King Street on the 10th floor. It was very clean and our view was great. Could not beat the ideal location in Charleston plus a great parking garage. Very nice staff and overall it was a great experience. I will book again very soon. The bathroom we had was very small and reminded me of a cruise ship but we were only there for two nights so it was not a big deal with my daughter.
The hotel was in a good location. The Bell staff was exceptional Check in was a breeze. Rooms were clean but a bit older. Older small bathroom A/C that made loud noises randomly. This is not a modern hotel...but that's not all bad.
I loved the location of the hotel, close to everything and just off King Street, the best shopping in the city. The rooms were spacious and clean, and hotel seems to accommodate a lot of people. The Swamp Fox restaurant was very good for breakfast. A wide variety on the menu with a Starbucks just outside of in, still in the hotel. The hotel is very noisy at night due to screaming and honking of horns on the main road-and I was on the 7th floor. I wish the hotel had a free continental breakfast and that you did not have to walk a block to get to the hotel parking, which is the city garage.
Bedding was comfortable and overall furnishings were updated Small Bathroom
Great location, great staff, clean gym.Nice room but bathroom is on the small side, very comfortable bed and pillows.great charming lounge with great bartender.restuarant has good breakfast at a reasonable price.First time we've stayed down this end of king st, it won't be our last.Been coming to charleston for 25 years, you can't beat this hotel for the price!
Very good location, convenient to all downtown activities and historic features, clean, traditional atmosphere, courteous staff, reasonably priced, built-in restaurant and very interesting and sociable host with a foreign accent. January 5 was a cold night and the room was chilly with no extra blankets, and the thermostat didn't seem to help. The cost for parking in the adjacent garage seems a bit excessive two half days and one night $17. Kind of like the golf course with $5 green fees and $50 golf balls.
Ken, on the Club Floor always provides incredible service. He makes your stay! Frank is no longer there. You will not find a better location, or staff on the hotel side. The spa service is sub-standard, and over-priced. Therapists were not attentive to requests, and hearing complaints about their job because they didn't receive benefits, was unsettling. Urban Nirvana in Charleston offers the best service. Consider opting for their spa at Wentworth Mansion. The service and value trump Charleston Place, any day. Also the spa charged a 20% tip without notifying me, and overcharged for the services rendered. The spa therapists aren't Belmond Charleston Place employees, and are quick in letting you know that.
Location is the best thing about this hotel. Valet very disorganized and never anticipating peak times, Had to take my luggage to my room myself.... Over priced for the service or lack of service
Enjoyed the ambience and attention of staff. Excellent gym and spa area. Perfect location for shopping and dining. Lack of in room movies.
Spa needs help !
The rooms was beautiful and completely decked out. The staff was kind, curious, willing to help, and helped us coordinate between my girlfriend and I as we prepared in separate areas of town for a wedding I was in and needed to check in earlier. The room was extremely clean and the staff was extremely nice! No need to go to their bar or cafe, the prices of everything are unnecessarily high just because they are by luxury stores or something. They are $20 for everything, no lie. Do yourself a favor and go to any of the amazing restaurants in the area that you can more than easily walk to!
Right near shops of King St Home of Charleston Grill, a top 5 dining experience for us Fine luxury throughout hotel Can seem a bit stuffy depending on clientele, but that's who it's for
Beautiful facility. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was excellent and friendly. Perfect location. Repeated air conditioning problems in our room.
Everything was very nice and we stayed in just a normal room. Very spacious with a very comfortable bed and lovely linens and plenty of bath linens, checking twice a day to make your bed and have everything fresh again by bedtime. Staff was friendly and efficient. The bar was quite lively when we were there on the weekend and a lovely brunch. A great location. The only complaint or oddity was how the bath sinks were made. If you were short or a child they would be taller than most with the sink further back. Both my husband and I noticed. The room was otherwise lovely.
Every item in the room was first rate and luxurious. The traffic noise was very loud throughout the night
Our room was on the top floor and absolutely gorgeous from the room itself to the bathroom to the breathtaking view! It was perfect and exceeded my expectations! There was nothing not to like! I'd stay there again and again!
Hotel was beautiful and opulent. Historic setting in the middle of the old Charleston. Restaurant was excellent and rooms were both beautiful and spacious. Staff was extremely courteous and pleasant. We had air conditioning problems that repeatedly left the room without cooling in 90 degree weather.
great location, great view of the riverfront, very friendly and accommodating staff paper coffee cups in room, walls were a little thin. the couple next to us were loud at all hours of the night. did not enjoy hearing them having sex!
Not worth the price. Very expensive rooms
I loved the complementary champagne, gorgeous pool surrounded by flowers & superb location. The friendly professional is very welcoming. The bathroom doors are sliding & did not give the feeling of full privacy. The room was not spacious but very comfortable.
The location was good. There was only valet parking for this hotel and no site carpark. We expected the usual Holiday Inn Express facilities eg. refrigerator and complimentary breakfast but had neither of these. The room was small and we did feel like the poor relations having booked through Booking.Com.
The entire staff----everyone with whom we had any contact---they were all very helpful and anxious to please. The room was not very comfortable or easy to move around in . Bath was very outdated and not easy to use. Not very competitive or modern
This Hotel was top notch, modern tech available in room for internet and also could watch you own netflex or Hulu tv. Room was large, clean, and bed was very comfortable. Also very modern decorations and bathroom. Could use a more comfortable chair to sit on while at table and working.
I like that front desk was so nice I be in there almost a year ago and I come back last week just for one day business the beds are so comfortable but when I was ready to check out in the morning I would looking for something that I dropped make sure I don't forget anything and I found a women underwear on the back of the bed they have to be more careful on how they clean the rooms and make sure to check everything other than that I like that hotel is great and I will be back I have to
Room was beautiful and definitely had long term guest in mind. The location was hard for our taxi driver and two Uber drivers to find while we were there with their GPS on phones. Looked like they were do remodeling / repairs, so front desk/lobby was in a little disarray. Staff wasn't unfriendly, but wasn't friendly either (if you know what I mean). Room was beautiful and definitely had long term guest in mind (except bathroom which was missing lighting cover exposing electrical, with one of two lights burned out). Would probably stay again, just cause of the nicdneness of room & affordability, outweighted any negatives.
Location made it easy to get around the city. The staff was wonderful.
The area was convenient Floors were NASTY. I took a shower and walked across the floor and my socks were black.
Lots of room, full kitchen. Dirty floors and walls
Everything about the hotel was nice. The decor inside was very nice and rooms were great. Breakfast was really good as well. Nothing.
Proximity to airport was convenient Bed was comfortable It was nice they offered a continental + hot breakfast Room smelled moldy Extremely bright lights from outdoor sign shined in room all night Room was just a little shabby and crowded Not a recommended location if you are vacationing in Charleston
staff friendly and professional, very clean and convenient to both airport and downtown Charleston nothing of note
Wonderful place to stay!! Great staff, rooms and breakfast!
K ayak hooked me up with a vendor that isnt associated with Wyndham. my confirmation by Ka yak wasnt valid. luckily, the hotel accomodated at a cheaper price than advertised. getaroom is not associated with Wyndham, looks like Ka yak doesnt care who they share your info with.
Room and hotel overall were very clean. Staff were very friendly and accomodated our requests no problem. Property was very quiet and set back off the road. Noise level overall was low even though some families with younger children were staying there as well. Very good value. Would definitely stay again. House keeping got started pretty early and on our first morning, after a 2am arrival, we woke to them trying to access the room- although the staff was very sweet and apologetic, I ended up having to stand in the hallway to sign a paper in order to decline the service (a bit awkward). Put up do not disturb sign after that and had no other issues. Refrigerator didn't work (forgot to report it!).
Staff was wonderful.
At this point there are 3 pending charges to my credit card for this hotel. While I understand the standard room charge, it should not be on there twice. And at no point did I agree to a $134 charge to my card...over $300 total for a one night stay locked up on my credit card right now.
Overall upscale decor and cleanliness. Very helpful and courteous staff. Large rooms that are well furnished
Front desk personnel were great. Housekeeping was great. An excellent weekend rate. Wish property had a cafe/bar
Comfortable bed Refrain and microwave in room Friendly dining room staff Right across from Trident Medical Center Carpet stains $2 bottled water Breakfast was not great
The hotel overall was great. The room was excellent! The breakfast was pretty traditional. The customer service at check in was lackluster. The young lady that checked me in acted as though I was a hindrance to her.
Great rooms clean and very modern. We got there late afternoon and decided to eat in there restaurant. The waitress hadn't the first clue. It all started with the drinks, she brought me out a bottled soda no glass at all. Then she brought out two cans for my wife and son they got glasses but no ice. Would have expected this for a low cost meal at a small swanky restaurant but $100 dollars + for burnt hamburgers which is a whole nother story. If there was a choice to leave a tip there shouldn't have been one left. But they automatically took a 20% gratuity. Breakfast is $15 for everyone no matter age or what they get. Great place to stay JUST DON'T PLAN TO EAT THERE.
Very convenient. Breakfast left quite a bit of room for improvement...Yes, it was free, but what was there wasn't appetizing. We always look for bfast included so we dont have to get dressed and rush out in the mornings.
I was only staying one night, but the location is close to food and the highway. They also give you the daily paper in the morning, which is a nice touch.
Delicious Breakfast and Complimentary Drinks Beds were uncomfortable
Very friendly and helpful staff. Went out of their way to assist.
Restaurant not good
Very clean, complimentary breakfast and happy hour both very nice. Great breakfast buffet, more choices than expected. The room was very nice and spacious. No fish in the water ponds. No one came in to replace the towels or fix the bed.
The location cannot be beat--the art throughout adds to the atmosphere of the hotel. Bed too high up--I needed a stepladder to get in--the hardwood floors were shined and polished so much that I thought I would slip and fall.
really lovely hotel. The service is what stood out the most to me. Every single person I encountered was top notch (even more so than some internationally-known hotels I have stayed at). Even when there was a tiny issue with my room service (more on me for being picky) - there was no attitude from anyone, everyone was happy to make an adjustment. The replacement meal came in less than 10 minutes with apologies from the chef even! (And the meal was delicious, btw) I even received a follow-up call from reception about 30 minutes after I got to my room to make sure everything was ok. That's never happened to me before. The room was beautiful--dark wood floors, large four-poster king bed, updated bathroom. Top notch service, great location right by the waterfront and some amazing restaurants. Noise: the wood floors are so beautiful, but that means you have to hear your inconsiderate neighbors clunk around on their floors with their shoes on. Perhaps a very sweet note when guests check in (or in the room) that while the floors are beautiful, please be mindful of your neighbors and take your shoes off while in the room." Also, in the morning I could hear everyone's conversations from the hallway very loudly! Size of Room/Bathroom: this is with the caveat that I had a very low rate that provided me with one of the more standard rooms, so it was not necessarily unexpected. For what I paid, it was a decent size, bathroom just decent size as well. If I actually planned to do work while there, I would recommend getting a bigger room as mine did not have a desk.
Location, ambiance; roof deck No Fitness area; limited toiletry selections; a little noisy ( it's old); you will pay a lot!
Location was excellent. Walk to many restaurants, the waterfront, carriage rides and an open air market. Wonderful service from everyone there. Rooftop bar was fun! It was very expensive, room was tiny, no views
Perfect location and an art lovers dream. The room could have been cleaner
The overall vibe, from the room decor to the customer service was outstanding. Everything was clean, the room was better than expected, and the whole hotel was fun to walk through and view the artwork. The customer service across the board really made the experience though. Everyone was fantastic and eager to assist! Only two minor strikes. The bed was almost too comfortable. It was extremely soft and the pillows were softer. The rooftop bar was an awesome experience in the evening, however we arrived for lunch the first day and over half of the menu was unavailable at the time.
Walls are thin. Can hear neighbors
Clean, friendly staff, perfect location! Wifi was spotty
the vendue was wonderful. the staff were firefly and helpful and the room was very comfortable and well appointed. the location was also great. if you want even more character it may be better to say in the 26 vendue building but the advantage of 19, where I stayed, was that amenities were closer.
Recent stay at this hotel. Good, clean room, good breakfast. truly a good value for the money Some airport noise, which was to be expected.
Appreciated everything about the Hilton after bad experience at another hotel the night before! Friendly, spotlessly clean, quiet, etc. Stayed in another Hilton the next night on our trip we were so impressed! Adjustable level of soft/hard on the mattress was nice!
Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, quick check-in and check-out.
Staff was friendly The bed was ridiculously hard. The air conditioner rattled all night .
The hdmi box did not work properly with the cord e brought and on the box it says you can get a cord from the front desk. Upon requesting a cord, we were told flatly they do not have them and that they do not have many issues with them. There was no offer to replace the box or remedy the situation. We requested the shuttle take us to a location (not the airport) & was told it would be ok by the bar (who spoke to the driver) but the front desk staff refused. Overall ehhh. Not the best, not the worst.
affordability Location is not in the center of what a tourist wants to see in Charleston.
So close to everything. Easy access. there was no water in the pool when we arrived so there was no swimming for my daughter who is 11 and couldn't wait to swim
The property was one of the cheapest in the downtown area, so there was some value for the money. The location was not in the prime of downtown. It was easy enough to get a bus or cab downtown, so it worked out okay. The property is an older property that will be in need of some upgrades in the near future.
Restaurant closed, and only 1 restaurant close by, but did have breakfast available as grab and go. Didn't have our reservations recorded when booking through booking.com.
Overall good stay. Noisy Air Conditioner in room.
Staff is very pleasant. Hotel is close to major streets, easy to get around. It's called Downtown, but it is not downtown. Misleading unless you read previous reviews.
Our stay in October of 2010 was wonderful. Our room was very clean and the beds were soooooo comfortable. It was priced reasonably with regards to location. I would definitely go back. The front desk could have been more informational in regards to the trolley
The cleaning staff was very noisy and spent a lot of time outside my door having personal conversations while I was trying to relax
Staff at front desk. Breakfast was good. Room wasn't made up by 4PM on one day of our 3 day stay. Location isn't in historic district.
The location. Hotel was close to everything we wanted to visit. When we arrived at the hotel we had to wait over 1/2 hr for our room(which was booked 2 wks prior. And when we did get a room..The room assigned to us was already occupied. We had to go back to the desk toget another room. Even though the room was an upgrade we were not happy about the inconvenience.
The location, once you got to it was on the peninsula and made for quick drive to downtown nightlife Our room has cockroaches and the rooms had a low ceiling making the entire experience feel cramped and unclean.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Free wifi was appreciated. Not walking distance to Charleston and not in the safest neighborhood.
Rooms were clean and bathroom was big! Great breakfast!!
Not too far from historical Charleston. Room was clean, bed was comfy, breakfast was great!
The room was clean & comfortable. Check in & out was easy. Breakfast varied from day to day & was really good. Nothing. Great stay.
Courteous, accommodating staff Dirty sheets on bed when we arrived
The staff was great and friendly. Nice change over some of the other hotels I stay in. Was my first stay in a HIlton2 and wont be my last. Love the room size!!
Not much. Where to start. The website photos are very misleading. Instead of the two room suite we were expecting, we were given a single room with a curtain separating our sleeping area from the sofa bed. Our 8 yr old granddaughter spent two nights with us and house keeping didn't even make up the sofa bed. My wife and I slept several nights on the same bedding, and small pieces of trash on the floor when we checked in were still there after 7 days. I can only assume we were given sub par service and a lesser room because we booked at a discount rate. Will never stay here again!
I was there for a Conference and I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Tom was awesome - very friendly and helpful!! Breakfast was good and the coffee was wonderful!! I did not have any problems.
It was close to everything downtown. The price for the size of the room and the parking.
breakfest was great, good lokation downtown
Handy for everything . no
The breakfast on the roof top. The location in relationship to downtown Charleston. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The room had too big of furniture for the size of the room, esp the desk area. There was no swimming pool, jacuzzi, etc. Our room location was next to the entrance and it was a bit loud with the comings and goings. The maids started too early to clean rooms and it caused more noise in the hallway.
The location within historic Charleston was convenient to everything. We were able to walk to all of our chosen destinations! The amenities offered were excellent, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable. Would love to go back there and stay longer!! Can't think of anything we did not like.
it was restful, convienent, and clean
Room was very clean, uniquely decorated and furnished. Breakfast, while not great, was better than most I've experienced in the States. Great location close to the Market and other sites in downtown Charleston. Easy walking distance. Front desk staff was not very helpful or friendly. Bathroom did not have a fan, the sink water was always luke warm. No coffee machine in room. The price of the room was not worth the value of the room. Parking could be an issue.
We were in Charleston for a wedding and stayed 3 nights at Andrew Pinckney Inn. Location was within walking distance of the restaurants, cathedral and aquarium chosen by the wedding couple for the weekend events. Sandy was especially helpful with recommendations and assistance booking a city tour and transportation when we needed it. The hotel was lovely and intimate with just 40 rooms. Beautiful floral arrangements, breakfast on the roof top, fresh cookies and coffee, tea, water and lemonade in the lobby and attention to detail made our stay very memorable. Charleston is well worth the trip! We paid $319 + tax and fees for Friday and Saturday night. $199 + for Sunday night. I returned home to have an e-mail promotion from Snique Away for Andrew Pinckney Inn for $109 per night. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, but now feel that Booking.com was not my best option when booking a hotel. Prime weekend with USC graduation may have played a factor.
