Charming and elegant castle hotel in a small village. 12 km to the nearest town and not accessible with public transportation. Atmosphere was really tranquil and luxurious.
Wonderful breakfast choice: excellent restaurant; well appointed rooms; complimentary mini-bar; beautiful architecture and decor of hotel. Our room was surrounded by the bathrooms of the other rooms and was quite noisy. I would certainly stay there again but would ask for a different room next time
Stunning hilltop location amazing mountain backdrop, restaurant was closed when we arrived but the concierge organised a meal for us. Interior of the hotel is beautifully designed and free mini bar was a nice touch. Tasteful colour schemes throughout and nice rooms. Galdeano is a very small village, there are no cafes or bars so you need to drive to get anywhere. Breakfast service was a bit slow.
The palacio was very nice decorated with a lot of attention to the details, the cook was very good and even made from the daily menu a gourmet. The restaurant was not open all days of the week.
Modern hotel inserted into old flour mill A bit overpriced for what you get.
We were very disappointed in the situation of the hotel on a main road with little parking. It was exceptionally expensive and I would relate it more to a roadside motorway hotel. Rooms were small. It was however very clean. Breakfast was expensive.
The design of the hotel and the staff were wonderful. It was out of the way.
Good buffet breakfast, comfortable, well appointed modern rooms. Design hotel built into a former grain mill well decorated with riverside location. Staff friendly and helpful.
Liked the modern feer and the quality of the bedroom and shower.
Hotel is very interesting reconstruction of an old mill or as they call it flour factory. Combination of old and new is fantastic. it is situated along the river, nice bedding... I wish there were more signs to indicate the location Parking area is too small
Its cleanliness and superb staff made up for its lack of carparking and distance from the city centre. The hotel does not have sufficient car parking.
If you are walking th Camino, this hotel has one fabulous offering. If you give them dirty laundry by 5:30pm , they will have it cleaned (and pressed!) and back to you by 8:30. It is not cheap, at $20 for whatever you can fit into a small plastic bag. would like them to serve breakfast BEFORE 7:00 am. At least have coffee and rolls available - the weather when we hiked was VERY hot, so an early start was critical, and we would have like to have coffee early if possible.
bedrooms are spacious and bathrooms very clean. Bedroom was overheated and impossible to control the heat. Restaurant was disappointing.
Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The 6-person apartment is quite spacious. For those exploring the Estella area by car, the location is quite convenient. The hotel is overdue for a renovation - there were stains on the carpet and a hole in a wall where the doorknob had been slammed.
food in cafeteria good at reasonable prices. quiet location but near main roads.
The room was spacious the beds were very comfortable we had a nice time there, thank you I didn't like the close proximity of the balcony next door, it didn't feel safe.
Buffet dinner was excellent value and a good variety of food.
Wonderful to have a great kitchen at last and be able to cook my own food. Restaurant food palls after travelling a long time. Two balconies overlooking the church and square. Not a hotel but an apartment so staff questions do not apply.
The apartments are clean, well wquipped and reasonably well located. They might suit a small family that wished to stay in Estella for a few days. They are not appropriate as overnight accommodation for a couple, which is what we wanted. The apartments are not suitable for an overnight stay - we were paying for living/cooking facilities that we did not use. The absence of on-site management left us trying to resolve a problem over the telephone. This was exacerbated by language difficulties and could have turned a minor issue into a crisis. The (domestic sized) water heating only heats enough water for one shower at a time. Although there is just one smallish bedroom, we counted a total of nine bed spaces. We can't imagine what it would be like if nine people wanted to use the single bathroom!
The apartment was a surprise! We were expecting just a hotel room, but to have a whole apartment overlooking the main town square was a really nice surprise. We did not like the arrangements for getting the keys and the lack of parking facilites. Scant information beforehand meant we took a while to arrive there. The whole town appears to have become pedestrianised in the past 12 months and confused our satnav. Luckily we found parking a few hundred metres away, but this was a bit stressful as the maximum payment period was 2 hours meaning we had to go back to the car every few hours to update it. When we arrived at the apartment block there was no reception area. On asking the bar next door we were told to phone the number shown on the door of the apartment block. We did this (from a UK mobile - imagine the cost!) and the person we spoke to couldn't speak English. Nightmare!
