Almost nothing. I will not visit the hotel again for sure Very old rooms that needs major renovation I got food poisoning after having dinner in the hotel restaurant (the Villa) Towels on the pool are very old and most of them are dirty No chlorine used for the pool leading to very smelly water Definitely this is below 3 stars hotel although it is marked as 4 stars
The swimming pool is fantastic, the hotel grounds are beaitiful, the staff is friendly and helpful The TV in the outdoor restauraunt has a terrible picture abd should be replaced with a plasma ot LCD.
I did not find my reservation for an hour untill they overcomed the situation by one way or another
The pool was the best thing at the hotel. Staff were not helpful when i had a query, and most of the extra things availble at the hotel such as the gym were not free and you had to pay to use these facilities. Food was extremely expensive in the hotel and extremely poor quality and not value for money. There is no chance this is a 5 star resort as it was very old, not very clean and poor service all round.
the actual hotel and the setting hotel staff at the restaurant need to be trained, the credit card machine at the reception not working, heard this from a friend who stayed in this hotel last year, nothing still done!!
The layout and design of the resort, large room size Cleanliness is poor, dusty furniture ad bathrooms. Bathroom shower needs repairing. Air-conditioner needs servicing, very noisy. Cataract Pyramids Resort is definitely not 5-star, more of a low 4* hotel.
nice resort when i checked in they allocate me a single room, that the next room has big maintenence and you can stay uncomofort at all due the big noise of the machines, after that they relocated me to another room
breakfast is good, the room is comfortable . front desk too slow to solve problems we reserved tow rooms because there were four of us..reservations confirmed by email however when we checked-in they claimed they didn´t have one of the reservations..after holding forth we called for the manager.this never happened because he never showed up..they charged for two rooms although we had to share just one room. be aware of it.
nothing the worst service i ever seen, and my room was not 5 star the said that i have to pay more if i want to get reasnobil room size, the room was very small. compare to other 5star hotels the cataract pyramids is 3 star or the most 4 star. i have stayed in 5 star hotel befor and allways and they have 24 hour services but not in this one!
The staff and the pool were the best thing about our stay. Everybody, from waiter to lifeguard to cleaner did their best to make our stay really enjoyable. It is advertised as a 5 star hotel, which it is not by our standards. The Bathrooms could definately do with renewing, although they were kept pretty clean by room service.
Unfriendly unprofessional staff that makes you feel that thwy don't want to work Broaken air condetioner thay was nwver fixed.
not at all it is not even a 5 stars hotel alot treatment rooms entrance all was bad never go there again
Good location and very friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Not too bad for the price. We didn't have a lot of time and it was very conveniently located. Rooms were quite basic and it looked a bit tired - certainly not 5 star. Food was not good.
Its garden is splendid and the view on the pyramids is just gorgeous! Very centrally located to this major site of Cairo and its beds are indeed comfortable... The fitness center and some other facilities needs urgent restoration....
nothing we left and we go to other hotel!!! was vaery very dirty!!! the room that we have closed was with single beds no with double beds and they tell us that they are overbooked so to stay there!also the pool area and the spa was all dirty but so dirty that noone go near there.that hotel must be a 2 star hotel. also 35 minutes from the cairo.
nothing! The fact that they ruined my vacation and refused to work on alternatives to re-schedule my booking
friendly and helpful staff hotel could do with renovating. looking very tired
Very well designed and despite a location surrunded by the growing city, calm atmosphere. Excellent place to relax while visiting the pyramides. bathroom could be a little bit cleaner.
The rooms were very comfortable but it was the staff's helpfulness that really made the difference. Nothing was any trouble for them and they always greeted me with a warm smile. Would recommend hotel. No - everything was up to a 4+star standard
The staff was poor in English, though kind. The hotel's facility needs remodelation, and the room with pyramid view was covered by palm trees, not able to called a view. Rooms are small. The hotel shop was a bank- rubber vampire, even profit on stamps! Not qualified as a 5-star hotel.
Location as it is close to Pyramids etc. a bit old facility.
Our stay at the Swiss Inn was excellent. Great accomodations for the price, right next too the golf course and heated pool a bonus for small children.
nothing it was the worse hotel i have stayed in for a number of years just about everything, there cleanliness was poor the hotel staff were poor and the room was very poor
location Poor business facilities, internet frequently down.
Not bad but not good The servis is not good and they want take mony obout any thing like ice for exampel
the room, the balcony, clean, service,
Very quit and clean hotel. Good food very lazy employees! Far from city.
Excellent service from start to finish. Great rooms and lovely view over the Nile.
It's view and closeness to the Nial without any seperation ,presence of Alkapapgy one of best resturence . no gift or small shoping place
Fantastic view and clean accommodation. A bit of a walk to the city centre (Tahrir Sq.). Better to catch taxis on the road though (taxis waiting in front of the hotel will rip you off).
Excellent Hotel I can really recommend
How welcoming the staff were and the lobby I expected more clean there was some dust on the book and around the sink wasn't clean which I found it mistreating your guest nicely there small detail should be clean because it matter to some people
Luxurious, clean, comfortable, attentive staff, excellent restaurants and breakfast. Fabulous view from rooms. A little out of the way - taxis or hotel limousine essential to get anywhere. Very comfortable way to prepare for long plane trip. It was very busy when we arrived to check in and we had to wait 20 minutes to be assisted at reception.
view and location Quality of some staff , hard to get a taxi, value for money
the place of the hotel
many restaurants and nice view very long check in and check out., Price paid is 6% more than booking price., Hotel staff and security asking for tips for doing nothing., must pay $10 to get in the sauna.
The view, nice territory, nice outdoor pool. Quite good for Cairo. We ordered a breakfast with the room service, we were told that the breakfast will arrive in 10-15 min. Finally it took about 1 hour and they didn't bring coffee, saying that coffee machine is broken...The price for the breakfast is around 20 euros.
The rooms were large and clean. The bed was comfortable. The pool area was nice with cushions laid out for comfort. We did not get a chance to use the pool but it looked inviting. Breakfast buffet had a wide selection. Food was good.
The hotel is not perfectly located on the Nile, but it is one third of the price of the perfectly located hotels, and I found the location super-interesting. The hotel is clean and very well maintained and staffed, and it has the best gift store of the 20 or so I scanned in Cairo. I definately recommend Safir as a budget alternative to the classic five stars (Grand Hyatt, Kempinski, etc)
Clean and comfortable with excellent staff.
we enjoyed the evengn music sessons
Good Breakfast, River Nile was in a close proximity, Courteous Staff. No water for one day as there was a muncipal problem in the entire area and this was the day we checked-out for our onward journey. So we had the minimum impact. However other travellers were having quite a problem.
Great Breakfast My room was very noisy. It was on a top floor, and motors on the roof kept me awake all night. Bar downstairs has an undisclosed minimum spend requirement.
The history of the place and the Urban Decoration is so amazing and so beautiful. Some the staff behave is not appropriate , the bathroom is not equipped very well and its old,
Impressive hotel, but don't expect max efficiency, we are still talking about Egypt :) Minimal glitches with staff and responsiveness, but nothing to spoil the stay or anything.
Excellent and highly trained Staff, especially Front Desk staff and their management
Not a lot actually. See below. Food and drink was extremely overpriced and mediocre. An example which sums up the hotels attitude to the guest was two 1/2 litre bottles of water in the room with a price tag on them of EL. 24 each (approx 3 Euros) Accommodation although clean was rather tired - not what I expected for the 'Offer price' on a deluxe room.
The garden They dont give u the room and the view u like
every thing specialy the bachyard cafee
inclusive of all services they did not recognize your website, but luckyly the manager was a german national and have resolved it.
the most i liked was the outlets of the hotel. i didnt like the rooms as they look a bit old fashioned.
Hotel facilities House keeping disturbace to make the room even the not disturb sing is hung outside the room
The staff are excellent, very friendly and attentive. Rooms are very nice with very comfortable beds. Lovely hotel. Very expensive internet unless you are a member of free President's Club. Very noisy wedding until 4am kept us awake on Thursday night despite being on 8th floor.
the style of the room , the back side of the hotel
Modern rooms and decors Late in check in and very poor staff in reception, no rescept for the guest, room key damage in every hour !
The atmospher was great. The internet didn't work in my room.
upgraded to better room hotel transfer too expensive as was the internet.
The location was excellent and the staff was very accommodating. Booking.com hadn't faxed over my reservation so there was some delay as the hotel confirmed things with them.
The first thing I liked is that the hotel upgraded us to Fairmont gold which included free food which was not in our initial booking. The rooms were very clean and the view was very nice. The staff was not very knowledgeable and do not provide exceptional service which should be available in a 5 * hotel
The hotel made a mistake with the booking, but rectified it after some discussion and upgraded the room. It was useful to have the print-out of the original booking with us, as it was disputed.
The meals were good. They will over charge you more than what is quoted on booking.com. I was quoted $347 on booking.com and when I got to the hotel after my very long flight it had become $502. Then they tried to hit me up with some more erroneous charges when I was leaving. I had to refuse all additional charges vehemently. The general manager was standing right across from me trying to get additional fake charges into their system. Just because they print a piece of paper doesn't mean that you have to pay it. Make a fuss if you must. The shower will switch from warm to scalding hot without any notice and back to cold. One day there was no hot water. Also the carpets looked old and dusty/dirty in room 601. I don't know how this hotel gets to belong to a Hilton. Must be the worst hotel I have stayed in forever. Also always lock your room door with the lock bar, otherwise the service staff will walk in on you.
It was nice hotel, needs refurbished bathrooms. Location is excellent, no need for taxi. Everything is around you within a walking distance, mall, cofe shops, supermarkets, shisha places. cinema, fast food are also cross the road. Only bathrooms needs new fittings.
Staff excellant and very helpful. Good location for visit to city centre and cairo museum which is across the road. Nice outdooor heated pool and good selection of restaraunts in hotel. Not a five star hotel as it was clean but dated . the tour group in hotel was very poor and too expensive. Very poor information from office and meal on nile tour the worst meal we have ever had. The egyptian dance and music was very good.
the ramses hotel is an old the management should renovate it totaly. there are more guests than the hotel staff can handle.specially at lobby area and the garden court.more over the wedding is held at the same place of the lobby area which make the area very unsafe for scaping rout in case of fire.
The staff and facilities were all wonderful, very friendly and efficient and I feel it was an excellent place to stay in such cities as Cairo,I was very impressed! My only criticsm was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room.I've stayed at many Hiltons and this is a feature I expected and I feel it would prove to be very popular with most guests, and not expensive to implement.
Breakfast of the hotel was fantasitic!
Excellent service good value great breakfast rec upgrade to executive checkin if avail. Staff top rate, nothing too much trouble.
Waiters at the breakfast room, had no idea about a)1-how to handle a glass 2-to check if the glasses are replaced by clean glasses 3-if the forks are clean. B)everyhwhere at the hotel is smoking(thks god not at the rooms) area.for those who has allergy,it is a real big problem.
Staff is very friendly Upon arrival to my room, I found the remainings of hoses in the bathroom. Seems that they have executed repair works but them forgot to clean up.I had the chance to try three of the restaurants in this hotel but non of them offered quality food.
Nothing Bad every thing
It was in the centre of a bussing city but was also relaxing The traffic around it
ever thing it is nice and luxury
Food is good Staff are below average on their service and friendness .
quiet , clean , good breakfast , very cold , small lobby . expensive
Service like never seen before, they help you with pleasure and show it. Beautiful hotel, great facilities, friendly staff, comfortable beds, and luxurious rooms.
Hotel Le Meridien were under instruction to charge our credit card. They charged the clients credit card after threatening them with jail
the location, staff Need to pay more attention to keep the place clean, staff need to spend more time cleaning the hotel and less time looking at their mobile phones
In any hotel in Cairo you will find the traffic anoying. I have been to the hotel before and when I came I found out they were renevaiting the hotel and there were no information about. So it was noisy out by the pool, and the nice coffe place they had before weren`t there
theo only good thing is the restaurants and the pyramid views.. Some of the service was great but was a bit to full on. Thew hotel photos did not apply to the hotel. It was not updated with recent pic]tures and did not look like what we wanted. the hotel is quite old. Hertz car rental i fine but had problems with tipping and some of the staff were to full on. Watch out if you have blonde hair. For the money you pay i do not think it was worth it.
Exceptionally gracious staff and very good facilities. Terrific pool. No complaints
dont judge the book by its cover! photos are very misleading... pyramid view is hardly visible & lots of extra charges. first time MEridian let me down.
I'd say everything was so nice than I expected before. When I arrived the hotel everybody said to me welcome to Le Meridien Pyramids and the receptionists speak perfect English. Also, my room was surprisingly luxurious, comfortable and of course really clean. Room making services did a great job everyday. In addition, I was able to see the pyramids from the swiming pool and staff warking there were very friendly and nice. What's more? Oh, there were several places to eat and drink in the hotel and I went a few of them. All staff were well trained and helpful. I remember one more thing. There was a bank next to the reception and the exchange rate was the same as the banks in the Cairo airport.
Location Restaurants were under construction
There's a nice view of the pyramids by the pool. The rooms are nice and updated except for the carpet. Eat outside of the hotel. The food is mediocre at best. The hotel is very disorganized. Lots of potential regarding this hotel but needs new management.
The hotel was a good place for its price. We enjoyed the amenities but there isn't much to do outside of the hotel. We enjoyed Zamalek area more and people should consider that area if traveling on vacation. The rooms are a bit old and it's not really 5 stars. Overall, it wasn't bad.
Close proximity to the Pyramids. Good selection of food at the buffet. Great pool area. The water temperature in the shower was very hard to regulate. The anti-scald feature on the sink and shower mixers does not seem to be working.
very helpful stuff location terrible (not close to pyramids by foot), nothing near hotel to dine or tale a cafe', cafes inside hotel below expectations
the complimentary drinks all the day the hotel doesn't come close to its 5* rating! the rooms are all thesame size, whether single or double or triple!! for the triple they just added an extra bed. Therefore, cramped space! breakfast menu is the same daily. The staff in the dining room has this one thing on their minds- clear the table ASAP!
very nice stuff. There was some little noise in corridors.
services, cleanliness, comfort Too far from the center
Friendly reception staff, very comfortable, quiet room and excellent service package. Staff can be very inflexible at times (just not used to the Western way of doing things) and very stingy with alcohol in drinks. Alcohol is very expensive.
excellent Staff the likes of Magdoline, Mohamed and the rest of the team internet or sever disconnection challenges atleast once or twice but there was an alternative
Beautifull hotel with very comfortabel rooms and beds. Rooms with poolview are very nice. When we were there a musicband was playing every night. If you like that it is fun, otherwise can be disdurbing. Staff was more willing to handle things about the room and bills with my husband instead me. One time they did not accept me signing a bill without my husbands autograph.
Very nice garden area and classic look. Good lebanese restaurant and excellent steaks at the Italian restaurant: you can chose different menues form the garden area which is elegant in the evening. Free shuttle but to the airport every hour. Good and clean fitness centre. I have been there for about 15 times this year, they never upgrade the points on my alitalia card despite many complaints.
it is calm, clean and the hall is big which makes you feel comfortable rooms are not 5 stars.. bathrooms are very very old.. the TV is horrible and old
Very nice heath spa, sauna etc. Charming and helpful staff It was further from the city centre than I expected; but conveniently close to Cairo Intl Airport
Every staff member was very hospitable, helpful and honoring of each of our family members. Amazing service.
Staff - well trained, responsive. Evidence of good professional management. A bit expensive, but a comfortable stay
i was very relaxed at the morning but at the evening it is very noisy and crowded i love this old building, the choice of the staff is perfect,it is very neer to the airport more than i expect the booking at the start was difficult it ap.that ther is no exp with net booking
The way and the frequent they clean the room is very good , easy to check in and out , fantastic Nile view basically is the best, Staff need to learn how to smile and be happy ,they need to care of the main gate and to organize the drop off area, the waiters in the cafes they just need training.
The location, the Nile View, the breakfast, the bed and pillows. many things available in the lobby mall, travel agent, bank , ATM machines, bank .. etc ... The Casino, the bar, the disco, should not be there at all.
Toobusy a place very convenient location Catering staff need to be more attentive ti clients request( sometimes absent minded !!)
i has in some rooms very nice rever view
Location, Location, Location. Good Food. Fabulous View from Nile View windows. Friendly, helpful staff.
The hotel is a very good deal; pay a few extra bucks and get the breakfast buffett included in the room and you can't go wrong. The restaurant selection and food awesome. The Nile view from the 11th floor was very nice. The location was about 5 minutes walk to the Museum and maybe 15 minutes walk to the Cairo Tower. There are tours out of the hotel lobby too. I recommend this hotel to anyone going to Cairo! The prices are a little misleading; instead of $200 a night, it was $250 a night with taxes and service charges added in. And it didn't stop there; it was like this at the bars and restaurants as well. I probably wouldn't have minded paying a few extra dollars knowing how much something costs going in, but it seems a little decieptful. Know this going in, and you will at least be prepared - still highly recommend.
My room was ok. But bath room is very dirty and unusuable.water is not come well and waist is not going well.service was very very poor.u took da money on 5star. But this is not reached 3star level.sorry.
Very good The only one thing that did not made me unhappyis the booking and availability of the room. I booked a room that faces the nile ,however, they gave me a room that does not face the nile for the first night as they said they do not have a vailable nile views rooms even though my booking specifies that clearly. No money imbursement was made for the difference.
location rooms do not look like a five star hotel rooms tv channels are lemited and not possible to add your favorate channels although i asked to add some channels but with no response..
The hotel not cleaning at all and the services too poor and I will never ever stay in this hotel next time Nothing
Location Check in and out very slow
Location Check in Services
I was made to comply on your non-professional cooperation and organisation. We ordered transfer from airport in advance, which was confirmed by Samia Abotaleb but nobody arrived for us. At the reception desk nobody speaked english during our stay (15-21.2.). We sent the credit card details for charging in advance to Samia and at the reception they did not have it and asked us to pay the room.
The staff and the room the elavators were very busy all the time
good location, closer to opera house. chance to see Egyptian wedding they didn`t clean my room properly during my stay and offered amenities only for the first night, hotel limousine charged more than 10times of local taxi
I like only car drivers stuff and bell man. Not clean,no washing water for two days, bad smell every ware, not ready for handy cap, always busy with bus's,bad room service,no commitment for nile view, elevator delay for ten minuts, cheap firnuter, cheep tv,cheap doors for rooms, rusty windows, foront disk stuff cheeting guest, bad food, bad house keeping, dirty toilet, dirty showers, dirty towels...etc
Nothing Very bad stuff and also nothing belong to reality mentioned about this hotel in internet ( no casino , no club and also not related to nile hotels ) . No professional survice like i could not have key for my room , and everytime i want to inter my room , must go to reception . Was very bad hotel and i am really upset .
hotel facilites needs updating
The site mentioned that there is free shuttle to airport, but I had to pay thre times what I would pay for a normal taxi
comfort, shopping, and luxury too expensive $120 for 2 rooms 2 nights
I like the warm envirment in the hotel and sorrounding.they have many good food and very warm staff no
Near the City Stars shopping mole. - The reception staff
cleanliness , people were nice , in the room , DVD was not working , as i lost my luggage i dont recieve enough help , although i dont have any thing to shave and brush my teeth , i dont find this facility in the the room , i asked for it they bring tooth brush , but they dont bring a shaving blade and hair comb .once i arrived i informed that i have problem that my luggage lost and i want your help to follow up with the air port , but i felt they didnt do it , becuase when i returned back next morning to ask for the luggage they told me that their is no news , later i discivered that they recieved my luggage but thier were miss communication in between the shifts , until afternoon i returned to them and by chance i discovered that they already recieved the luggage .
Excellent location, nicely decorated
Staff did not care about anything. They kept saying that We will charge your credit card any way. Staff is very unfriendly
the speedy chick in and the speedy chick out .the hotel managment knows how to demonstrate hight level of customer service .very friendly staff highly trained
Swimming pool, Lobby, resturant and the food.It is also vey close to the Mall city star which is a huge mall where you can find a lot of shops & resturant. The only thing that people smoking everywhere. Delay in room service. may be due to so many guest?
The Swiming Pool and the Facility - Staff are using People, which realy i will think twice going again back to the hotel, Frankly i could go for another 3 nights more (Bussiness Trip) but i decided to go for another hotel to avoid the staff
very poor communication within the staff, they are not customer oriented and poor customer satisfaction
design of furunure so comfortale Cleaning of bathroom
Excelent facilities, very well located in the one of the most beatifull part of Cairo, the Gezirah Island in Nile river. Warming and friendly attention from the staff & services team
Best 4 star hotel in cairo Breakfast not included...
Quite . staff , clean room , T.V the bath room didnt have the water hause for cleaning after using the sifoon
Location of the hotel was very good, most of major hotes are in the same area, at Nile river. Cleanliness of room can be better, and staff at hotel entrance should be more professional.
Ideal location, on the nile close to the museum and restaurants/bars. staff very unhelpful. everything we requested involved us asking at least 3 times and waiting at least 1 hour. Pool was supposed to be heated but too cold to use even in the day when the sun was out. Standard of hotel very poor for the price.
I stayed at the hotel for two nights and the reception staff were not helpfull when asking them about things to do in Cairo. I was refered to the bell boys who i felt were out to rob me. On two occassions i arranged a taxi from the hotel and on both attempts they were trying to swindle money out of me.
central location, walking distance to the Egyptian museum (as previous comments suggest traffic is indeed heavy but if you do as the locals do it is no problem at all getting there), close to metro station, nice roof-top terrace, reception staff friendly and helpful service in the restaurant was poor (had to wait 20 minutes for someone to take my order) even if food itself was good, cleanliness of the room could be improved (changing bed sheets on a daily basis is not the whole deal and not the most important thing), breakfast a bit boring and slightly over-priced for what it offers, tea/coffee/creamer not replenished (had to ask 3 times)
Brilliant location, just out of the hustle and bustle.
The staff was very great and the hotel is nice and clean, but the problem was that compared to other hotels in Cairo which are higher in class and luxury, the price is very high. The swimming pool.
location and service staff very helpfull
Freindly staff, nice rooms and overall nice plce to rest when you are tired. As the hotel is located on street, we used to hear car horns and traffic noise alot.
Good location with a nice view of pyramids. Lots of sound of traffic, as hotel is located on the main road. Rooms were not well cleaned with stain marks & hair over the beddings plus they have a major issue with their air conditioning system, I had to change my room twice in the middle of night due to this problem.
not overly expensive, at least to a westerner service was unfriendly. they didnt tell us when breakfast was, so we missed it. the air conditioning didn't work initially. the room was sparse with not enough lighting.
The location is very nice, close to the Piramids, and ohter great tiristic sites in Cairo.
Nothing special in particular. If you want to stay late forget it! cleaners knock your door at 8 am in the morning and keep on knocking it till you answer. Besides, there is a school (or whatever) by the hotel and you wake up with the announcements for students. I recommend you go to bed early so you can wake up early yourself and have a fresh start to the day. Reception staff seems interested in your requests, particularly your travel requests. They never recommend to use a public transport, instead they guide you to taxis (generally drivers who are friends of the hotel staff) which is disturbing. Internet is a disaster, the slowest connection in the world for 30 egyptian pounds (5 US dolars) for 1 hour. I recommend not to use it or you will go crazy!
The staff was quite polite and helpful I had two nights here on two different days. One of the rooms was really good, but the other one was not that much. So it was strange for me that there was such a big difference between the rooms. What I did not like the most was the noise, it was really hard to sleep in this way.
Views from the roof terrace. Friendliness of staff. Swimming pool atmosphere
Very good position of you have short time and wants to visit the pyramids.
The rooms were not really clean and the breakfast was poor. The only real advantage of this hotel is that it is located close to the pyramids.
Staff was very pleasant. Location of hotel is good. Meal in breakfast was not very good. Cleaning service was waking me up every morning at 8 am
nothing special This hotel urgently need a renovation.
Had a wonderful stay with the whole family, highly recommended, lovely staff, good location
Had a great tour agent at hotel, very helpful. Bit noisy but overall great The traffic noise
the hotel staff are very helpful nothing really
