Pros: expensive but it worth paying for that. The location was great, just among all bars, shops and restaurants and just 30sec from the bus stop to the airport.
Cons: The pool was closed.
Pros: I loved my superior room, and I found the staff outstandingly helpful. The breakfast was superb, and I really enjoyed the plunge pool, even though the hours of availability were restricted. This was a most enjoyable stay, and I plan to return to the hotel on another occasion.
Pros: Restaurant, location
Cons: sanitary enginiring does not work properly in all rooms where I lived, uncomfortable planning of the rooms ( In the room N 6 angle of the wall very dangerous)
Pros: Excellent location great breakfast and friendly steff
Cons: A/C was not effecient noisy at nights
Pros: Very nice rooms although not as big as I thought they would be and no view, the breakfast is fantastic though, and the staff were very helpful.
Cons: For this standard of hotel you expect everything to be 100% however there were a few minor things that were a dissapointment such as the back of the tv remote control being missing, a plug for the sink missing, and a couple of things that appeared to be broken from the wall in the bathroom.Worst thing is getting to the hotel, there are too many one way streets in Gothenburg!
Pros: Everything was ok. - 100% professional and comfortable hotel with a superb location and nice staff.
Pros: The staff and facilities were excellent
Cons: For the price we paid I expected an even better hotel, but I suppose the excellent location added something to the price
Pros: Really frendly and nice staff who know how to take care of their guests!
Pros: location in town centre
The chic Avalon Hotel is in the midst of Gothenburg’s downtown area, surrounded by boutique shops and restaurants. It is also surrounded by water - Göta äiv is 2 block south, and Norde äiv is 6 blocks north. Göteborg Kungsportsplatsen Train Station is a 2-block walk away.
Pros: From the moment you enter, all the staff are helpful and courteous.
Great breakfast. Wide selection of foods to choose from.
Dinner menu varies daily. Well prepared!
Cons: No English-language newspapers.
Pros: Decent sized and comfortable room with great view of the river and bridge.
Pros: Superior room very comfortable. Quiet and peaceful and with a very good view of the bridge and the channel. Real good overall maintenance
Cons: I was really badly treated on 15/10 Friday night by a waiter of the restaurant. He had just ignore me twice time waiting to be escorted to the table as It was required by the signal. I went close to him and asked if I could seat in one of the free places, but he started to shout very loud that I would wait outside, besides the finger pointing to my face. It was really aggressive and I was completed offended. Since I'm a polite person, I've just told him that I would be doing a complaint about his behavior. I've turn around and went out, but the man just follow me like if he was almost pushing me out. do not use the restaurant of this hotel. I've made a complain to the front desk some minutes later.
Pros: The room had a very nice view over the fjord. With the water taxi the city center is within easy reach.
Cons: The room appeared a little old-fashioned. The parking lot is not secured, a warning to be especially careful would have avoided a burglary.
Pros: The restaurant served a good breakfast with plenty of choice. It was in easy reach of public transport
Cons: On check in - in the afternoon, one of our rooms had been cleaned but the bathroom was dirty, and hadn't been cleaned while the second room was n't ready. The next day, the room wasn't cleaned altogether when we got back in the evening. Beds were unmade, linen not changed, tea cups not washed, and complimentary tea not replenished
Pros: Watching the river traffic, using Alvesnabben (river bus to city centre), walking along the river, interesting old buildings, easy access to city centre and archipelago by tram. Helpfulness (mostly) of reception staff - full marks to Edouard for finding a classical concert for us. Spacious and comfortable room. Excellent breakfasts with food intolerances well catered for. Book with helpful Gothenburg information in room.
Cons: Dinner menu in our view unexciting and overpriced.
Pros: Excellent rooms, beautiful village, wonderful staff - we will return
Pros: Considering Swedish prices we thought it was good value. We paid the full price in advance of course, with no cancellation allowed but for a quality hotel like Novotel it offered excellent accomodation.
Pros: The hotel is comfortable you get value for money breakfast is very good
Cons: We dudnt like the buffet at dinner
Pros: Choose Novotel primarily for it's proximity to excellent restaurant "Sjömagasinet", one of Gothenburgs (and Swedens) top food stops, especially regarding seafood.
Cons: Novotel Gothenburg is nice (and well worth it's price) but can be jammed with kids during high season (July, primarily) due to the hotels policy of allowing guests under 16 to stay without extra charge to the booking. I would not mention this if it was a minor problem, but the usually excellent breakfast experience can easily turn into kindergarten bonanza if you hit the morning tables at the wrong time... Be warned.

Pros: Hotel Poseidon is a nice, family-owned hotel close to Gothenburg's center and close to other interesting areas of Gothenburg. For the other meals there are restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel.

Very helpful staff, nice comfortable rooms, good central location for exploring the area, close to a nice park. I do wish the guest rooms and their associated areas had the same charm and character as the lobby/hotel entrance areas, which are quite impressive as you enter the building. But good value for the money and the stay was very pleasant. Another feature which was particularly nice was the late checkout on Sunday (til 6 pm) -no need to rush to leave.
Pros: The character and history of the building. It is beautiful when you enter from the street!
Cons: It's quite difficult to find, there is no sign except for small letters on the door, and parking could be a bit of an issue. The guest rooms are very nice but do not have the same grandeur that the lobby/entrance has. However, it's a good value for the $.
Set in the centrally-located and renovated Svea Building, on Västra Hamngatan, near central station and Nordstan and Avenyn shopping districts, this Goeteborg hotel retains many period features.
Pros: Stayed there for two nights. The room was very comfortable and quiet (facing an inner terrace). Even though the room was small (which was exactly as advertised), it has been recently renovated and includes lots of functionality (they've done a great job with the design of the space). The bathroom was big, very clean, and comfortable. Great free breakfast. Very professional and genuinely helpful staff. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.

Pros: Pleasant surroundings, good breakfast, clean room.

Breakfasts were wonderful!
Pros: Great location
Cons: Tiny bathroom. Uncomfortable bed. And loud. Lots of construction so very loud because of it.
Pros: Centrally located and bar upstairs has a great view.
Cons: Bathrooms were all glass. No walls so no privacy!!
Pros: Breakfast and location. In very expensive gothenburg, a decent deal for 3 nights.
Cons: Room was very small, restaurant was too expensive, construction outside was awful for walking. No air conditioning. Very inflexible check in time. Very busy breakfast.

Pros: The room was very clean and the staff extremely friendly. In addition, I felt very safe. Believe it or not, the restaurant in the hotel was both good and affordable. When viewing the hotel on the map I thought it was far from downtown Gothenburg - that's not the case. Downtown is just a short two stops away on the very easy to navigate tram system. The hotel is also a very short distance from the international airport, GOT. I'd say maybe a 15-20 minute drive.
