10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, staff who waited on us were very friendly, helpful and efficient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING! After over 7 hours travelling, we arrived at Gretna Hall Hotel to the news that the country had just been advised to lockdown in relation to the Coronavirus! The staff were very professional, welcoming and friendly even though everybody was unsure at that point in time what would be happening going forward. They remained calm, fluid and reactive and maintained their guest's comfort at every stroke. The hotel went in to lockdown. It was closed to any newcomers and all guests were instructed to stay in our rooms. We were then provided with the best room service we have had the joy to experience! Any and every need was catered for with a call to reception and an extensive inclusive 2 course meal was provided in the evening with a full breakfast selection in the morning, both with sides at minimal extra cost. The food and beverages were brought to our room where we basked in the luxurious comfort of the Borbone Smyth Suite! The staff were simply amazing throughout our stay and we have nothing but compliments all round! We eloped and travelled the length of the country to marry... Our wedding weekend could not have been more perfect thanks to the teams at Gretna Hall Hotel and The Old Blacksmiths Shop. Thank you so much to you all
Cons: Didn't like the shower blocking and near flooding the bathroom. On inspection, my plumber husband pulled the waste trap to discover it blocked with masses of black hair and mould. Not at all nice to have to clean the shower trap to enable us to use it! I'd advise that the house staff make it part of their daily housekeeping routine to avoid further disgust by any future guests! I really do have to say though that EVERYTHING else was perfectly faultless and we were ecstatically happy with our stay!

Pros: Very comfortable beds nice clean room, friendly and helpful staff considering the carona epademic we going through
Cons: Paid for some extras, had to ask for some of them, and the dressing gowns were quite hard feeling and stiff, and the price of a little bottle of pressecco at the bar was 9 quid!! Discusting really when you can walk 1 min across the road to the black Smith shop and buy a large bottle for 12.99 so Smith's should be ashamed of that

Pros: This was a last minute romantic getaway and we had a lovely time! The bed was so very comfortable! And admist a stressful time the staff were lovely and kind. The room was very clean, cosy and warm and facilities were as expected (or more so) for what we paid. We didn't make it to breakfast so can't comment there but room service was timely. We were also a little sad about not having giant cookies but they substituted with the tastiest brownies! And then very kindly made some different cookie type food alongside - on the house. It was really lovely staying here, and exceptional value for money! We'll be coming back!

Pros: The size of the room was massive! The decor in hotel was lovely and really cosy feeling. The bed was comfy and I slept well. I was impressed by the whole hotel, staff were friendly and check in/out was very easy.
Cons: Bathroom could have been a bit brighter, was quite dull and light over mirror quite dark for putting makeup on. Breakfast was not very hot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: staff
Cons: Perfect..
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice room, very clean .Good lounge bar, reasonably priced restaurant. Mostly very pleasant staff. Plenty parking.
Cons: Requested to upgrade from B&B to dinner B&B on arrival, Instant ' no 'from very po-faced receptionist. Quote " You can have dinner, but there will be no discounts" No offer, no discussion, no consultation with senior manager. We ate there anyway because of foul weather, and it was fine. But it left a bad impression, and therefore I would not recommend or return . Also, no place in the bedroom to lay open your suitcase except the floor. I used the ironing board! Breakfast was good, eggs excellent, but some elements in the hot trays were very dried up and best avoided. No marmalade.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great Staff all very helpful

Cons: we received an email confirming a requested walk in shower however this was not provided

9.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed on the 28th feb - 1st March, The lady on reception was lovely and really chilled out and had a good sense of humour. Cleaners on a morning were just as nice and all staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They also were really generous, nothing was too much trouble for them. Cleanliness was amazing , sheets were crisp and spotless as was bathroom . Even the kettle was pristine. Maybe too clean , tasted a bit chemically. Decor was nice, very spacious! Heating was easy to adjust. TV was good didn't expect that. Quite secluded away from the busy outside traffic and surprisingly quiet. No disruptions. Good deal on breakfast too at harry ramsdens
Cons: Could of done with a fridge even if it was empty so we could store our food and drink. The shower was really low , my partner had to bend down to wash his hair! The location seems good but prices for taxis are extortionate, so all things considered it was maybe worth paying a little extra to stay somewhere else and not have to pay to get into gretna. Maybe offer a shuttle service or some sort of discount with a specific taxi service? Would really help. Prices of drinks and snacks were way over priced. I had a lovely big mirror and dressing table in my room but no chair ?

Pros: Really handy for the M6/M74. Easy walking distance to eatery, pub and outlet centre (if you want). Good parking. Really good size room, including what looked like a newly refurbished bathroom. Quality toiletries - Molton Brown. A decent sized tv (for a change). Absolutely superb value for money. Good breakfast.
Cons: We stayed in Room 4 and the wall separating us from Room 5 allows sound to travel easily. Not a problem if occupants are quiet, and it didn't disrupt our good nights sleep.
