Helsingborg hotels

Pros: It was a good stay and the hotel was close to city.

Cons: The mug was broken in the room and the breakfast was poor. The TV wasn't capable for a perfect HDMI connection. The screen was often turning dark.

Pros: Location, staff and great breakfast buffet!

Pros: Decent room size. Room was clean. Toilet was large, the floor was corretly slanted so you didn't have to wade through an ocean after having a shower. The bed was ok.

Cons: Slow elevators. Air conditioner turned off during the night and restarted early in the morning resulting in warm, stale air in the room since the windows couldn't be opened. We ordered an executive breakfast, but when we went to have it they didn't have us on the list and sent us down to the regular breakfast, which apart from the foible with missing our booking of the fancy breakfast, was one of the worst hotel breakfasts I've had in Sweden. The breakfast area was cramped, resulting in a 20 minute queue to even get to the breakfast buffet, the buffet itself was lack luster to start with, having rather few items and the items that they had were constantly out. The fried items tasted of being fried in margerine, and were dripping with fat. Coffee was constantly running out and it took 20 minutes for the service staff to refill it. Every time. The serving staff also did not clear tables, so there were piles of dirty dishes standing around.

Pros: Nice location within easy walking distance of train station, sightseeing, and shopping. Friendly, helpful staff. Good food in the restaurant.

Pros: We loved the hotel design. Beautiful and artistic and modern. We also loved breakfast. We were upgraded to the executive breakfast and I can’t say I’ve had a better breakfast in Sweden (or many other places). It was excellent and the staff was so kind.

Pros: Excellent location, 10 minute walk to the central railway station. Close to all main amenities and shopping area. Hotel has a relaxed 'art deco' feel to it; very clean and tidy. Staff were extremely welcoming.

Cons: The breakfast area was very crowded at peak times. If possible, aim for an earlier breakfast to avoid the queues. The choice and standard of food was very good, however.

Pros: The property is a beautifully renovated bank, that had a large Vault I expect. The rooms are very originally decorated very unique. It is well situated in the historical part of the town. Most of all the staff were really lovely and helpful.

Cons: They don’t have many TV channels and air conditioning however we didn’t really need it and I alway need air con!

Pros: Staff was very nice, beds were good. It was clean. Breakfast was great. The location is excellent. The story of the hotel is interesting even if not so many things from the bank days had been kept. Enough to make it look nice though.

Cons: As always, I dislike a lot that loud music is constantly played, both in the lobby and in the dining room. There were a few issues in our room, smaller things . One we took care of ourselves. The other we'll tell the hotel.directly.

Pros: Staff were very helpful, we arrived after midnight to check in and they stayed up for us. They were also cordial towards our other requests. Breakfast was very good and they kept it open late in the morning, even after 10 am. Our bathroom sink was clogged which was repaired immediately.

Cons: - Our room at the top floor didn't have any curtains, only blinders, which made it very difficult to sleep in long daylight ours of Scandinavian summer. - We were charged 195 SEK/NIGHT to park at the hotel which we thought was pretty high rate per night.

Pros: The staff went above and beyond expectations as I had requested a framed picture of a local footballing legend and they had fully fulfilled my request. The room was amazing and I would only stay in this hotel if I was visiting Helsingborg again.

Pros: The hotel is in a quaint area of the city, 5 minutes walking distance to the center. It is a relatively small boutique hotel, with funky decorations inside it. The room was all good, with a balcony. The seagulls ate our snacks left on the balcony overnight. The comfort is good. We also had a good breakfast.

Cons: Horror. When you go to a hotel you don't expect to be charged for sheets (18€ for bed sheets). But if even above the sheets have blood stains. The horrible stay. They put us in a room next to the elevator and the only bathroom on the floor so we heard the sounds of all the guests all night long. I don't recommend it to my worst enemy. Breakfast is scarce.

Pros: Beds were confortable, nice decorated bedrooms, no english speaking channels on TV though,... clean separate shower rooms. Friendly personnel working there. Guests we met during our 2 nights stay were not young, nor students... Naming it Youth hostel is not appropriate any more, too expensive also for actual students...

Cons: I did not realize at booking it was a "youth hostel", thus not providing bedsheets on beds, ( available for rental) no airco in bedroom made our 2 nights very uncomfortable since opening the window on the noisy train station and road was necessary but provided a continuous noice all night.

Pros: Friendly staff, great location (at walking distance from the beach, all attractions of Helsingborg, the ferry terminal and the central station), nice room with a beautiful view.

Cons: The only major disadvantage (known in advance) was the fact the rooms don't have their own bathroom.

Cons: The room was nowhere near the value of its price (70 euros/night). I knew that the room will be small, but on the website it says 7m2 - with our calculations it was maximum 6m2. Of course one square metre difference is not in normal circumstances important, but I am wondering if it is even legal (fire safety etc) to have 3 people sleeping in such a small room - maybe that is why they lie about the room size? Also on the website it says there is a seating area - nice wording for one chair in the room. Space between beds is so small that you cannot even open your suitcase on the floor. Maybe if the price would be about half of what it is, I would consider staying one night. But 70 euros for such a room when you have to pay extra for sheets and towels (if you don't have your own), toilet and showers are shared and you have to clean the room after yourself is ridiculous.

Pros: Location very close to the sea, grocery store and bus stop. The hostel is located in a quiet area, yet easily reachable by the public transportation from a nearby city.

Size of the double bedroom is reasonable, not too small and not too big either. We love the interior of the room. Free parking on site if you have a car. Free billiards and free soccer table game.

I had a problem with my room key, and after several attempts, they ended up moving me to another room that turned out to be a nicer room (two beds, view of the street rather than the back of another building) than the room I had. Staff were all very nice and helpful.

Cons: The location was not in the nicest part of town, but it was close enough and the weather was nice enough for me to walk to the areas where I needed to be, especially the train/ferry station.

Everyone can run a hotel but a hotel with a heart is rare ☺

Pros: Pretty much nothing. The poor guy working night when I arrived did the best he could and was the only positive thing about the stay.

Cons: For a hotel situated smack in the middle of Helsingborg it is incredibly badly maintained, staffed and just terrible. The elevator got stuck with me in it and I sat in it for 20-25 min. During the weekend the elevator was down 90% of the time. The day staff receptionist was rude and should not work with customers. The breakfast was cheap and the soft boiled eggs almost raw. Terrible. The hotel was shabby, badly maintained and reminded me more of a hospice than a hotel. Horrible. It’s such a pity that a hotel that could have been one of Helsingborg’s finest is a dump.

Pros: Easy access to coffee/tea and a kettle on the 3rd floor so that you did not have to run all the way down to the kitchen on the 1st floor. Good, comfortable bed.

Cons: Too few lavatories on the third floor where I stayed - could be a problem in a (personal) emergency. One WC is in a shower room, which for obvious reasons would be occupied for longer periods of time.

Cons: The showers and wash rooms are beyond basic, the toilets where sometimes dirty also, it is nothing more than a crash pad type of place,there are no towels, no sound proofing in rooms, no fans and the bedding looked as if it had not been changed.

Pros: The bed was very comfy. Having a fridge in the room was very handy for storing cold drinks. Shower and toilet facilities were always very clean and plentiful. The hostel is very close to the harbour and most of the main areas of the city which is great for exploring Helsingborg.

Cons: The room was very small but wasn't really a problem as I didn't need much space anyways, just needed a bed for the night. The fridge in my room was ridiculously loud all night which made my sleep a bit rough but it wasn't too bad when I fell asleep. Shampoo was provided in the showers however shower gel was not, would've been nice to have a body and hair shampoo instead.

Pros: We liked most things in the room. Comfy bed, great bathroom. Nice, friendly and accommodating staff. For people who like to be able to prepare their own meals it’s terrific. Close to downtown.

Cons: The room was dirty as if someone just cleaned what was the most obvious. When opening the drawers, looking at the floor corners we found litter. I stepped on a dry chewing gum that was on the rug. I also found tufts of hair on shower door and the drain was clogged. The room itself is fine. But after a full day of walking and riding a bike you find out that in H5 Hotel they do not make a bed and you have to do it yourself... I can understand it in Airbnb but this is a hotel and I find it disappointing.

Pros: Great location for the hotel, walking distance to the harbour, cafés, restaurants and shops. Modern room, comfortable bed, easy communication with the booking staff via e-mail. You check-in with a code you get on your phone so that you are quite flexible.
